Not all of it is as bad as you guys say, Carr Valley has some amazing stuff.
>eating healthy is so hard omg!!!!
>i know i just cant do it
>i stick with it for a couple days and stop because the food is so boring!
FUCK YES the produce here is medeocre...well the stuff in the big chain supermarkets are horrible, bland, and underwelming.
i think its because in america everything is able to be had at any time of the year. regardless of weather or not something is in season it is still available, and that means picked before its ripe to be shipped and sold. its fucking shitty man
i love me some farmers markets though, those niggas knwo whats up
Just moved to NYC from South Africa. Why do I have to pay tips to restaurant staff. I get the general concept, I just don't get why I have to subsidize the staff for the owner not paying enough. Even at upscale restaurant this is the norm here. Why do people put up with this?
I lived off these bad boys.
> no breakfast
> not dying of hunger at lunchtime
> breakfast most important meal of the day
> people who eat breakfast lose more weight
> I should really eat breakfast
> have a smoothie for breakfast
> hungry as FUCK three hours later

What are your thoughts on this Midwest chain?
hate that their pub burger is just a limited time only item
other than that, all the food they serve is delicious
Foods which always give you indigestion but you eat anyway
>I give you $10. You must be creative and ingenuous and prepare me a meal fit for a king, and then I will let you have relations with my super-hot 22 yo daughter.
Meals for royalty are tailored to their tastes. How do you like, 1 (nasty) to 5 (exquisite) -
Hot and spicy things?
Immersion blender or blender blender?
i need you all to help me for my future romantic dinner with my girlfriend. She is a Potterhead ( she loves too much Harry Potter ) and her house is Slytherin. I want a dinner colored like slytherin's colors ( green and grey ) but i haven't any idea of what i could cook this night. If you have any idea for a menu or a part of this.
What cooking shows have inspired you?
I actually took a French cuisine class with Pepin's son in law a few years back. He kept us too busy to ask personal questions.
I really got into food in the mid-aughts because of Good Eats, and I'm not even going to pretend to lie about it.
Is there any way to make sloppy joes taste good?
I'm going on a road trip to Portland in a couple weeks. Where/what should I eat there? Also alcohol recommendations are welcome.
What should I get from the food court today?
I try to avoid going here on weekends and also normally bring my sister with so people don't think I'm the kind of creepy white guy who likes asian girls(I'm not).
Sucks that they closed ReLeaf.
What's the best fast food outlet in your area and what country are you representing?
Australian citizen here. Thoroughly enjoy eating oporto.
Oprego sauce is delicious.
If you're talking chain fast food then
Nandos >>>>>> Oporto
I like Grill'd but it's so expensive you could go to a top tier burger restaurant and get something better for only slightly more or the same price.
What's the consensus on Seagrams gin? I usually get Gordon's when I get cheap gin but I'm wondering if there's better (as well as cheap) options out there.
Also general /liquor/ thread.
>Stick with Gordon's
I had a feeling about that, it IS pretty good for how cheap it is, none of the other cheap gin's I've tried have that juniper/pine taste. I'll check out Plymouth though.
How do you make good sandwiches without mayo?
I'll eat more vegetables, I'll cut sugary drinks, but how the FUCK do you survive without mayonnaise?
Anyone here managed to cut processed sugar out of their diet?
Whose got the best shakes out there?
in my experience you'll find them at a local diner.
I live in Ottawa and there's a diner in the market called Zak's which has bretty good shakes
>tfw raspberry milkshake
more places and brands need to make raspberry icecream. Although it's entirely possible i'm being biased because no where else have I been able to find a raspberry shake, not that I ever eat out a lot. I haven't even been to Zak's in years now so who even knows?
We have not had a 5:2 thread in AGES!
As usual, post your 500 calorie meals and success stories.
What's the best peppers for cooking with and why is it these hot little bastards?
In that order.
How does /ck/ like to cook crabs? One month until soft shell season begins.
Also other shellfish general thread
Is it any good? I've been getting increasingly hungry over it watching it my dog eat. It's basically just chunks of meat in a gravy with some added vitamins. It cannot be that bad to my health, right?
I like canned pineapple and would like to do more with it. I struggle coming up with simple ideas, though.
1. Eating it raw.
2. On pizza.
3. In a chicken and rice pot with coconut milk.
That's about it. Does someone have some ideas for me? It doesn't need to be a full meal or anything.
You can make excellent sauces from it. A BBQ sauce for pork, or the classic Chinese sweet-and-sour.
It's also good grilled. Just slap the rings on the grill and let them brown a bit.
Or add to a mixed fruit salad.
>no food in house
>think about what to buy at store
>absolutely nothing sounds good
>choose to sit and starve
What causes this problem? I don't understand how someone can be so hungry yet the thought of food is completely unappealing.
You probably aren't hungry, just bored and seeking stimulus. When you are hungry you will definitely have cravings. Generally for specific foods that contain the nutrition your body needs. If you don't have cravings for something/everything then you aren't really hungry, just seeking the dopamine high that results from consuming food.
What's the general consensus on Andrew Zimmern?
