what is some future food for 2016?
Opinions on this guy?
I like Marco's Knorr videos on youtube.
People call him a 'sellout' for doing them, but the fact is, 90% of the time the knorr-based seasonings beat salt and pepper, or are at least a nice alternative for a change.
what's the best meat substitute?
you guys are always memeing about how dark meat chicken is so much better than breasts and I agree, when I order fried chicken or get a rotisserie chicken plate I prefer dark meat, it has a deeper flavor and is juicy. Anyway I went off on a tangent with my mom about how shitty breast meat is (it really isn't shitty because it's all I know how to cook) and she decided to buy me a bag of frozen bone in chicken thighs since I like them so much. Problem is I don't have a fucking clue what to do with them. It was sort of an eye opener since I was talking shit on how...

>lather in butter/oik and spices
>put in pan with some chicken stock
>toss veggies of choosing in
>cook for like 50 mins
Is chicken even good? Tastes bland to me.
Just did a couple whole chickens on the smoker. Tasted fucking awesome. Also have done rotisserie chicken and whole roasted. Always come out nice and flavorful. Breast though? Meh. Depends on the seasoning and cooking method I suppose.
What do you think of this pizza, /ck/?
Can I ask you a question?
What exactly do you get from spamming the same image over
and over again?
Please get help.
Now I do not drink very much. My brother tried to turn me onto light beers but the strong taste of alcoholic presence turned me off to the point where I cannot even become acquired to it. However, he gave me one of these Apple Ales and ever since then I've actually fucking love these beverages.
I don't give a rat's ass if this officially makes me a faggot.
I like Redd's Apple Ale. I tried Strongbow too, but I just do not like it as much as Redd's.
Brrr, it's gonna get cold again this week, -27C here in Toronto forecast.
What better way to endure that with a warm, hearty lentil soup.

Just made pic related. One large smoked ham hock into 12 cups of water with two bay leaves, 2 tsps of sea salt simmered for an hour.
Then I added 2 carrots, 2 sticks of celery, 1 large onion, 1 clove of garlic sliced and two cups of green lentils.
Let cook for another 1 hour or just under.
Then I extract the ham hock and separate the fat from the meat and bone and return small...

Good ole /ck/ cringe thread?
Starting with an old favorite.
the artwork and comedy style aside that's an ok, not particular great, chili recipe.
yes, everyone here can cobble something much nicer together but that '0guide' was made for no cooking skill, reddit fucks
i got to try a new thing taco bell is launching i think later this month. anybody interested?
open up, its a pretty standard taco in a fried, shaped shell. if you've had other specials that have had a special shell you're probably familiar with it.
favorite Michelada recipies
There's just two acceptable recipes:
Standard, which is just lemon/lime juice
and Cubana, which is lemon/lime, Maggi sauce, and worstershire sauce. Both varieties with a crown of salt.
Onions with 73/27 ground beef cooking.
Hey /ck/, got a question for you:
At what point do you sharpen your knives? Do you have any sort of tests to determien when to sharpen them? I have honing steel, but I'm pretty sure I'm past the point where that's going to make a difference. Any advice would be appreciated
When cutting things isn't working as well as I'd like, i.e. when I have to think about it at all.
There are all kinds of spergy tests (HHT, three finger test, thumbnail test, etc).
Those are fine for communicating a goal in an internet forum, and they are useful for learning, but for me, I already know what I needed to learn to get good at knife maintenance, the real world goal is and always was to cut stuff, not pass tests.
can i make pulled pork out of lean, boneless pork chops?
i don't have a slow cooker but i have a pot & a lid
from what i read online it is quite dry (lean) so it's not so good with pulled pork, but i could just add coconut oil & bbq sauce to make it taste good. i kind of just want to use this pork for tacos and i hate how chewy it is when i cook it regularly on the frying pan
and if i did slow cook it how long would it take? and how hot should it be, boiling??
Make pork chops out of pork chops, these cuts will never make pulled pork like fatty cuts do.
Coconut oil and bbq sauce would be horrible replacements. It wouldn't gelatinize at all like natural pork fat, and wouldn't taste even close to the same. Plus, the texture would be all off. It'd definitely be tough like you'd hate.
Do you want some pork chop recipes?
so apparently you can make these pseudo-flatbreads out of egg, cream cheese, and cream of tartar.
what do you think of this horrific memebun?
I made them once. The recipe also called for sugar or an artificial sweetener, so I made one sweetened batch and one batch with extra salt.
Neither one was very nice. I don't think I'll bother making them again. If you want to eat less bread, you're better off just not having the bread.
