What should I eat for lunch, ck?
Tell me your chili recipes /ck/. Tis the season.
Originally chili was just cheap cuts of meat, salt, water, and chilies. Why do you add what you add?
>inb4 beans/nobeans flustercuck
I'm not pretentious at all. Usually I'll grab like 3 lbs. of meat, either beef or a beef/pork mix, brown it, and throw it in the slow cooker with salt, hot peppers, adobo, garlic, tomato paste, cumin, and chili powder, toss in a bottle of beer, maybe a handful of blue corn tortilla chips to thicken it up, and let it stew until I get back from work.
It's easy, fucking delicious, and pisses off chili purists while not even using beans. I win on all counts.
>Grow up as a brat who refuses to eat vegetables because they're icky and my parents enable my behaviour
>As a teenager have it in my head that the only ones I'll eat are carrots because it's all I ever got forced to eat
>Get into college and now have to fend for myself
>Gradually realize all the stuff I used to think I hated like broccoli and peppers are either fucking delicious on their own or great in certain dishes
>Got a vegetarian girlfriend for a while who introduced me to some amazing recipes and foodstuffs that I still eat regularly
>Nowadays laugh with my parents at what a picky little shit I was while growing up
Anyone else go through something like this? What were you a picky eater towards as a child but now love?
You sound like my brother and my son. I'm actually the opposite, getting pickier as I get older. Most of the junk food I thought was delicious as a kid tastes like shit to me know. Never had a problem with vegetables, thankfully.
Is a pu pu platter authentic chinese food?
>Is a pu pu platter authentic chinese food?
Chinese food is regional. So, what does it matter if it is or not?
It's not. It's part of the Tiki culture that came out of California and other tiki restaurants known for their hawaiian themes. Assorted appetizers in themselves aren't Chinese style...it'd all be served at once. Japanese is the more influence on fusion hawaiian food, so you see, it's kind of an invented kind of thing, a bit of a Luau in abundance,...

I've been drinking coffee with copious amounts of sugar in it for YEARS. I've recently been trying to limit sugars in my diet and I've slowly gotten used to the taste of coffee with no sugar, just milk. I always thought coffee was just shitty and bitter without sugar, now I guess my palette is adjusting. How long have I been fucking up my coffee?
Is it just me or does honey nut cheerios not taste as good since they went gluten free?
How do you bring lunch to the workplace, ck?
Post your latest eats. This was my lunch today: pocketless pita with hummus, tomato, lettuce and olives.
And with seitan/mustard sauce instead of hummus
Well, which is it, /ck/?
Protip: one of these methods is meme tier
Pictured on the right is from a blade grinder. 18g. one push.
Pictured on the left is from the SAME blade grinder. 18g. manually pulsed.
Blade grinders are cheap and quick, but very uneven. They can be effective if you know how to use them.
Thank you. This is what I'm always saying in coffee threads. Blade grinders are not ideal, but they can make passable grounds if you do it right. There is no excuse for buying pre-ground coffee other than extreme laziness. Everyone can can afford a blade grinder. Freshly ground beans is the biggest jump in cup quality of all the brewing variables.
when does raw cross the line into rare?
Am I an asshole if I roast the raw coriander seeds myself, to make the powder? Or does talking about it make me an asshole?
pic entirely unrelated
Is this place good? What to order? Going here for the first time tonight with girlfriends family, don't want to look like a jackass
No, it's a shithole. Bottom-tier buffet for bottom-tier people. Expect to see lots of fatties and ill-behaved children. Imagine a Wal-Mart but with buffet lines filled with prison-quality food.
How do you like your cornmeal mush, senpai?
What's you Super Bowl spread look like co/ck/s? Me and my roommates have this lines up
>Meat and Cheese Fries
>A Pony Keg
Suggestions? Recipes? I'm thinking maybe adding some mozzerella sticks in there.
