Zaheer did nothing wrong.
You just mad cause Jinora dawg.
It's cool holmes, I'd be pissed if my bitch was getting hassled like that by a little punk ass bitch
We take Ba Sing Se from the corrupt! The rich!
The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity.
And we give it back to you...the people. Ba Sing Se is yours!
None shall interfere. Do as you please.
But start by storming the dungeon and freeing the oppressed!
Step forward, those who would serve for an army will be raised.
The powerful will be ripped from their decadent nests and cast out into the cold world that we know and endure!
Courts will be convened!
Spoils will be enjoyed!
Blood will be shed!
The Dai Li will survive as they learn to serve true justice.
This great city...it will endure.
Ba Sing Se will survive!
>Zaheer looks like he only reaches up to P'Li's chest in that image
Either way, he's a damned lucky man for having such a hot girlfriend.
I wonder if she's ever combusted when they fuck.
i think my favorite part of the episode was
the magma and water bender chatting about their life in captivity with Bolin and the magma guy being surprisingly chill
that and of course
zaheer avenging bosco
>hoping she won't be
You know it's happening. She's gonna stab them in the back and there's nothing you can do about it.
Lin's sister becomes the Metal Queen, rebuilds ba sing se entirely of metal including the walls.
Korra joins Zaheer's team. Tenzin is mortified and now has to choose between serving the avatar or serving his people.
Bolin and Opal bang (theoretically, they just wake up in bed together)
What were they thinking, giving us a villain who's actually more concerned with the good of the people than the hero ever was?
I like that they took the time out to do that. Made the exbendables a bit more rounded.
I alos quite liked the section last episode with Bolin and Asami playing paishou (or however it's spelt). Korra's always felt to me like it's rushing from one plot line to another, so it was nice to have a few moments that don't seem to exist purely to advance/support the story.
>more concerned with the good of the people
You realize he intends for there to be a lot of chaos, death, and destruction before his new world takes over right? He cares for the good of people in the long term, but less so for the good of everyone right now.
Eh, Amon didn't seem to have any kind of code except Bending=Bad.
He thought nothing of bombing civilian areas and racking up collateral.
Even before it was revealed that he was phony and a fag, the guy was clearly in the wrong.
Meanwhile Zaheer has killed two people.
Both of which were assholes.
Alright guys. Given the size of a city like Ba Sing Se, the destruction of the ruling class and that wall, and all the looting we know is going one, what would you say a realistic death toll would be for this episode? Gotta at least be dozens.
>I did it all for you!
>Yeah, see, we talked it over and we've decided that you're being a jerk about this whole thing.
>I only did what had to be done!
>Says you. Doesn't look like it from over here. You're just being obtuse about this whole thing.
>THE ONLY RIGHTEOUS ORDER IS DISORDER!
>We appreciate that you have an opinion but would prefer that you didn't force your ideal on millions of people without their consent.
Amon employed the tools of a terrorist.
Zaheer has been more direct in his approach.
If he has beef with somebody, him and his posse will take that person down.
He won't bomb an orphanage to send a message.
>what would you say a realistic death toll would be
Probably whatever the population number of the upper ring is. If it's anything like TDKR, they'll be dragging the rich out of their beds and killing them in the steeets.
>What were they thinking, giving us a villain who's actually more concerned with the good of the people than the hero ever was?
lol look at this edgy teenager who thinks creating giant power vacuums will make everyday peoples lives better.
Post yfw the Earth Queen shows up alive next episode.
Well I mean Zaheer's actions are going to get innocent people killed and we all know at some point he's going to cross a line that'll be too much for the fandom (going after Tenzin or Zuko's daughter maybe).
The avatar may be unlikeable, but to stand with Zaheer is to stand in opposition to all previous Avatar's work to encourage and build harmony among men and nations.
>she's on a cross in the middle of the lowest part of the city
Listen son, I was there in Iraq with the 82nd when the regime came crashing down, and I was there in new Orleans with Katrina relief and security efforts.
Anarchy aint' anything pretty/
So how shit will the ending be and how will they ruin the Red Lotus?
She shocked her father back in S1, which allowed Korra and co. to escape from the platinum jail.
Having the EQ be alive wouldn't fuck up the ending, it'd just be kinda dumb and take away how threatening Zaheer is supposed to be.
But I'm pretty sure she's dead. Ming and P'Li go with Zaheer to make the radio announcement and Ghazan is at the wall. If the EQ was alive I doubt they'd leave her alone, even if she was tied up.
I dunno, Zaheer straight up said he wanted to free the common man among his own group when no heroes or anyone were around so he's at least honest with his end goal, unlike the last two villains.
Amon was fighting against the oppression of the powerful over the powerless, and he used their own tools of oppression against them to give them a taste of their own medicine. He also tried to do it in an orderly fashion that wouldn't create lawless, somalia-like conditions where the oppressors (like the triads) would have even more freedom to torment the people.
this is what we've been discussing before the episode aired.
it spooks me a little, because the threads went most of the time something like this
Fire - Lightning
Water - Healing, blood bending
Earth - Lava, Metal
Air - ???
and then people would say something in the lines of taking the breath away, and suffocating them in that way or moving the air in their bodies so they implode or some shit like that.
and then that shit happened. he took her fucking breath away and suffocated her.
I like how you people seem to assume that man is a wild animal that will destroy itself as soon as the man with the spiky hat is no more.
Have you so little faith in humanity?
Look, I don't believe in anarchy either.
But I'm pretty sure society won't just collapse forever and we'll be rolling around in the mud if all politicians were somehow gone.
We'd choose new officials.
You guys are some Thomas Hobbs type motherfuckers.
>implying Ba Sing Se's people won't, after the high of all the rioting and uprising has simmered down, appoint a new ruler to tyrannize and oppress them.
>implying Zaheer, seing this, won't step in and kill that new emperor.
>implying anarchism leads to anything but fascism.
But Zaheer isn't talking about putting up new governments, he wants all government gone for good.
A tyrannical queen is one thing, but he would have killed the duly elected president of the united republic in the exact same manner.
But we've seen them in other episodes doing other stuff. Spirits chillin' at the Misty Palms Oasis, Spirits trying to get some refreshing fruit drinks and getting kicked out, Spirits at marketplaces, etc.
The same time we get recuts of Breaking Bad scenes featuring Zaheer
Zaheer can't really enforce anarchy, as far as we know.
If people are free to do as they wish, they are also free to select a new ruler from among them.
Say, wouldn't seeing that make Zaheer reconsider some of his stances?
Wouldn't it perhaps be possible to have a non-violent resolution for a season for once?
His gang seems like a group that can be reasoned with if presented enough to make them reconsider. I mean they don't go out of their way to harm anyone outside of rulers and those who attack them, plus they treated the boys pretty good.
Ba Sing Se
Take control....take control of your city
This, this is the instrument of your liberation.
I don't think Zaheer would be opposed to a new form of government, what I think he wants is a certain amount of time of chaos and anarchy so that the world can "purge" itself before settling back down and starting anew. Then when those governments inevitably become corrupt, the people will either rebel again or his successors will take them out. It's a cycle.
Amon is a beautiful dreamer and a saviour.
Zaheer is a dangerous radical and a madman.
>We'd choose new officials.
That depends. Some peoples are obviously that civilized, and others, well, aren't. So it really comes down to how much faith you have in the average earth pleb after decades of the queens tyranny.
That's what Bryke will do.
That's what I hope ill happen.
Korra finally manages to rub enough braincells together to make a convincing case for Zaheer, that he is turning into a tyrant himself.
Then Zaheer has an inner crisis, concedes and peaces out.
Korra will never actually finish her arc, will she?
For the last time, Amon's not a hypocrite.
He believes bending = bad, and delivers. That his only tool to do so is bending is more of a necessary evil than not practising what he preaches.
It's like having a moral disdain for Tumblr, but knowing that using Tumblr is the only way to get what you desire.
I hate to turn everything into porn but when are we getting rule 34 on any of these 3?
>life and "darkness"
It's bizarre seeing someone brutally suffocated while watching their eyes bulge but then have the language be pussy footed around.
Is it too much to say "assassinated"?
I don't know where but I'm pretty sure I once read that while you can get away with showing some brutal stuff in kid's shows for some reason actually SAYING it happened is a big no-no.
Airbenders could, theoretically, bend sound.
Which did sort of bug me about Zaheer killing the Earth Queen: If he pulled all the air out from around her, she wouldn't have been able to hear his little speech.
>I put the earthbender head on the blue body
>the airbender head on the green body
>and the waterbender head on the yellow body!
We need to fix this, guys.
It's not like that scene isn't COLOR CODED for Avatar use.
reminds me of the tron show
they seemed to do whatever the fuck they wanted cause they called it getting derezzed and also people explode into red cubes instead of chunks of meat
That Mai's such a pretty girl, shame she's always so gloomy.
I have a feeling this will be the only death this season but I'm hoping for at least one more.
I mean, one more who isn't a member of the Red Lotus. I'm pretty sure at least one of them will die.
>Both shuts her up in the process, tortures her and puts a definitive end to her supreme bitchness.
New characters for Book 4?
It wasn't a spirit.
But yes, crashing the ship really was her fault.
I mean come on Korra you could have just metalbended. What were they gonna do anyway? They have no earth around them.
But anyways, when is Asami's life going to be ruined this season? I mean, it's tradition!
>there are people who actually think that lin's sister is with the red lotus
>she's the fucking GOVERNOR of her own city and her entire life is built around hierarchy (family, government, etc)
but i bet the writers are dumb enough to do it. and they will make lin and su have a big fight at the end of it all.
I've been hating the boondocks faces in this season so much because they remind me how terrible the 4th season of the boondocks is
But that's Seung Eun Kim doing the storyboards for you.
Wouldn't make sense. He'd be openly taking credit for the act of killing her if he made a spectacle of it, and he stated that who he is in all of this isn't important.
Zaheer just wants the people to be free, not to be made into a hero.
Because the Fire Lord got his Mommy back.
Cheer up, faggot. How can you deny Zuko his Mom? Stop crying, you selfish little bitch. Are you gonna tell Team Avatar they're in the wrong?
People are often hypocrites.
Su sees that she's an anarchist because she's independent of the Earth Kingdom and that she created the city without any help.
She sees it as an anarchist paradise, but it blind to the fact that she and her family are essentially a ruling class.
Kinda like how Zaheer is the absolute ruler of the Red Lotus and yet campaigns for freedom from rulers.
>implying suyin isn't using the red lotus as a tool to destablize the earth kingdom so she can sweep in and "save" it, then later the other kingdoms too
she's already planted one of her agents at the northern air temple, her goal is world domination
Am I the only one that was smiling and cheering when the Dai Lee got there shit kicked in?
>We take Ba Sing Sae from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity. And we give it to you, the people. Gotham is yours! None shall interfere, do as you please.
I wish Korra had learn that move.
>he gets to hang out with Iroh in the spirit world
>you'll never climb the sparky sparky boom mountain
Come to think about it, that's probably how Monk Gyatso killed on those Fire Nation soldiers.
Removed the air from the entire room, killing him and everyone in it.
Starts out with Korra wanting to be more spiritual.
Goes into thing where Korra is torn between her duties and personal feelings, making her violent and rash.
Then visit to the spiritworld, where Iroh tells her that the best way to help oneself is to help others.
Confronts badguy, badguy tells spiritworld should be open.
Meditates in a tree and kills him.
Decides he has a point and leaves spiritworld open.
You are using the term "arc" very loosely. I'm not even sure you know what an arc is for that matter.
I don't mean the thing Noah rode in around.
Crashing this airship, with no casualties!
So in Zaheer's original plan, he was going to tell the Earth Queen where the airbender's where, but how did he know that? Unless he had an inside source.
Not really, if that were the case then any water bender would be able to blood bend since 70% of the body is water. You would think sucking out air is harder than normal air bending.
I'm surprised they were even allowed to use the word "terrorist."
They may have used it in Season 1 when referring to the greatest waterbender in history himself, but I don't fully remember.
>It does not matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
I think we know pretty well whose skull.
>she has been trained in metal-bending
>airship made of metal
>''AIRBENDING WILL DO''
>mfw shity plot device
He prefers to call himself the
yea i always seem to make faces too skinny
someone on /vg/ requested a ty lee sin so i made this as well
Do you think Ghazan occasionally goes over to Zaheer when he's sleeping and pleasures his penis for him as a sign of good faith?
It ain't gay or anything, he's just being a bro towards his airbending leader.
Did anyone else think this episode was kinda scary and really dark for a kid's show?
Like, when the fish suddenly appeared and broke the airship, and later when it almost swallowed the sandglider, 2spooky4me.
And the queen's death ofcourse. If I were still a kid I'd probably be terrified
Also, when will Bolin metalbend?
So Zaheer is after the world leaders right? So that means Tenzin is probably on his list.
>Tenzin: Opal keep the airbenders safe, I must go to Korra
>Opal: Will do master
>Tenzin mounts his sky bison
>Opal: I think you might need this master (hands him a staff)
>Tenzin: Thank you Opal, be safe
>Zaheer lets Opal talks to Opal though the spirit world
>Zaheer: Opal the time has come execute order 66
>Opal: It will be done master
>Opal hurls a powerful airblast at Tenzin when he's flying away knocking him and his bison out.
he also has cauliflower ear
her sparring partner has been practicing metalbending his whole life. of course it wasnt a death match but she still raised up to the challenge. whats the point of having 2 episodes dedicated to he learning metal-bending and her not using it when necessary? what happened to '' you are the first avatar to learn metal bending''
Her haunting face and pink eyes as she was being choked were actually pretty unsettling.
I know /co/ hates her, but I actually kinda hope she isn't dead. She's just a mean old woman without a mommy. No one deserves to go out like that ;_;.
>when will Bolin metalbend?
Never. You'd think all of this is setup for something. But the simple truth is that Bolin is no longer allowed to have even a single shred of dignity.
They did have leave a bit of metal-bending in that scene. First when she broke through the door, and then later when they were talking about how to repair the ship. Weird that they wouldn't actually show the metal-bending repairs though.
It's debatable if Tenzin counts as a world leader.
At this point I think he gladly welcomes death.
His face as he just sat there in that shitty tavern was one of suffering.
He was probably sitting there contemplating what a bad idea it was to knock up his own mother.
meh its still better than season 2
>mfw I realize that armless girl could not touch herself for 13 years
Holy shit that must have been terrible, at least the others could masturbate the time away.
NO, she bent the sand out of the dune. Making wind is not as easy as making Vacuum.
Besides, taking out the air around him would not only also cause him to suffocate, but it would still leave him vulnerable to stabbing via fire nation spear.
Same as with president: priorities.
If they would start taking down governments entire world would be on them, while they wanted to get the Avatar first.
But now Korra learned their goal and is free, so they went all "fuck this shit, we just kill a queen and make her run towards us".
So any reason why Zuko is still relevant? i mean he is a potential target but honestly no reason to kill him.
and If Korra only knew that she can do what zaheer does and murder someone, like her past lives
Did Korra give up on trying to restore her connection with past avatars?
but if she could consult her past lives then she wouldn't ever be any mess ever
I mean seriously
if she took the time to learn from her past selves then she wouldn't be such a horrible avatar
literally the only avatar she actually listened to was wan, and then she did the exact opposite thing that wan did
Except none of the Avatars could really help her with this. What the fuck is she going to ask Aang, should all the governments be destroyed? Did Sparky Boom Boom Man have kids? Could you please tell Zuko to stop being awkward?
I'd really like to know what crisis she's experiencing in book 3 that requires a past life to advise her.
I'm not saying she can't try in the future, but right now with the airbenders coming back and the Red Lotus just fucking murdering the queen of the EK she doesn't exactly have time to sit and meditate for however long it'd take to reconnect with her past lives.
any advice on where to improve the korra one. (aside from facial width)
i realize the ty lee one is pretty bad facial wise.
I didn't take the time to do shading and hard lining because i wanted to make sure i had the proportions and positions of all the features first.
The only two avatars worth listening too are Wan and Aang.
Yangchen seems pretty based, although ruthless as fuck.
Kuruk did batshit in his 30 years of life or what do I know.
Kyoshi only got up her ass when her life and her peaceful Island were in danger, thus letting her life up to 230 without doing shit.
Roku felt to much and did to little.
how would you know anon? its not like
you are a grill yourself
The best advice I can give you is that it's not simply about drawing over and over, it's about drawing, observing what you did wrong, and trying to get closer to your ideal next time.
Observation is key. People who don't observe properly are the ones who spend 10 years drawing with no improvement.
Except waterbenders have to deal with tissues in between themselves and the water. Taking away someone's breath is simply emptying their noses and lungs, which should be much easier to do.
not sure what you mean
well that's why i'm bothering to post and seek advice.
I already know and went through tons of sources on underlying shapes, drawing construction lines and following the basic underlying shapes of the face but i can't pinpoint my own errors very well. You should see my first and second attempt compared with that it is a huge improvement
That wasn't what I meant when I said they were cool. Their interactions and general appearance are just more entertaining than anyone Korra hangs out with. What little we know about their backstories already sounds more interesting.
I was happy about the airbending thing because it just seems like such a lay-up that I'm surprised it took them this long to show it happen.
Korra is a womanchild that needs pampering, Asami on the other hand is a grown girl-airbison who can take care of herself.
>No, she's just sleeping.
She's pining for the fjords!
Considering how much Nick seems to want to kill it? No. But then again, they went out of their way to kill ATLA and we still got Korra. I have no fucking clue what is going on in their heads.
Red! The blood of angry men!
Black! The dark of ages past!
Red! A world about to dawn!
Black! The night that ends at last!
>the age of action cartoons is ending
There will be a new age. An age of Dark-cartoons!
I'm in the school of thought that anything Azula does is ultimately Zuko's fault, in that he knew she was a violent and dangerous psychopath, and yet he still took her out into the public in order to make her confront the one person he is well aware triggers her psychotic episodes more than anybody else.
Say about her what you will, she's the cutest spirit animal we've seen yet.
FOR FUCKS SAKES FINALLY
Creating a vacuum around someones head is something people have been fucking arguing about forever
>No man firebenders are the most over powered! They can burn you alive!
>Nah dude I'd be an airbender that way I can just shoot air bullets or suck out the air from peoples lungs!
I'm so happy it finally happened
Whats next now?
Waterbender turns the water in peoples bodies to ice?
Earthbender uses the minerals in someones body to fucking magneto the earth out?
This is pure specific shit right here
And more would have suffered under the monarchy for hundreds of years otherwise. Ever hear of breaking a few eggs to make an omelette?
It's happened countless times over the course of history. Given, there are way better ways of doing it when it's possible for the people to protest and/or think for themselves. I'm not sure the Earth Queen gave her citizens that luxury though.
>Waterbender turns the water in peoples bodies to ice?
Holly crap, that awesome!
He brought two of the most powerful benders in the world, and Sokka, to keep her at bay but Aang and Katara were too busy getting whats-his-name a new face to care about Azula going on a crazy rampage.
Your waifu saved the day for a change, event though only two people even thank her. But god, look at her rack, it's finally not hidden so much!
I'm liking this season so far /co/ and you can't stop me.
That's besides the point really, he at least put that family's lives at risk, if not the whole village just so he could reunite with his Mom, which was a largely selfish desire anyway.
I'm not saying it's bad writing because honestly, it's very much in Zuko's character to act like he did but it was reckless and dumb.
I feel like it would have to be someone like Amon(Aman? Whatever) to do it because bending has to do with directing your chi precisely.
And yeah there's plenty more retarded stuff benders can do that are now in the realm of possibility
More glorious Asami rack outline. Shit, you can even see her muscle tone through her outfit. THIS SHIT IS NOT FAIR.
I guess a dark skinned female protagonist really WAS too bold a premise for Nick to take.
Not loving really.
Zuko sort of comes to the realization that his Mom wasn't the saint he always believed her to be and figures out he should stop holding to her standards.
He kicks her ass when she tries to kill their Mom and offers Azula unconditional support in getting better with her brain problems and she calls him weak while tearing up and running away.
