Goodnight sweet prince
>Robin Williams Dead: Beloved Actor Dies In Apparent Suicide
What the fuck.
In case you didn't get it already: mods sticky this or one of the other threads please. This guy deserves a sticky
OFFICIAL 2014 DEATH TOLL:
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Efrem Zimbalist Jr.
>he'll never guest star on Whose Line again
Anyone have 2014's list. This year is some grim shit
>Its still only early August
This fucking year man.
It's alwasy the person you less think of.
He voiced some characters.
Another man taken by auto-erotic asphyxiation.
I demand this thread be stickied, /co/, this is the only celebrity death I ever cried about. I don't like believing that it was a suicide.
Peter O' Toole
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Ann B. Davis
The Ultimate Warrior
I grew up watching Popeye, I loved it, this is awful. Just awful to hear about.
Good night best friend.
>thinks it must be elaborate
>not because of the the police report or the line released by the wife
>but because it's on multiple 4chan boards and has a sticky on /tv/
Fucking hell, mate.
I hate this goddamn year so fucking much. First Casey Kasem, now Robin. Who's next God, you bastard?
Death To Smoochy was a great movie about the effects of depression on childrens' entertainers.
Man, and just yesterday I got an urge out of the blue to watch when he met koko the gorilla
He was a pretty cool guy, even got the chance to play Quake deathmatch with him way back in 96, it just ain't gonna be the same without him
I don't even know how to react... Robin Williams was always that sort of comedian I expected to see still doing crazy shit into his 80's. 63 was way too early for him.
2014 has been the absolute worst year for celebrity deaths possibly ever.
I always liked his part in this, cheesy though it is
No, it isn't, you're a retard.
The act of being hung from a noose uses the shock of the fall to break your neck, and you're basically dead from there. The rest of the time you're choking out because your brain can't control the rest of you while you're running out of air.
I GUESS YOU COULD SAY HE'S IN THE DEAD POET SOCIETY NOW
>He will never see Evangelion 4.0
Goodnight sweet reifag
Fuck this year, just fuck it
He fucking killed himself?
Jesus fucking Christ.
I can't deal with this shit.
Everyone I love is dying.
I couldn't even begin to estimate the amount of times I've watched this tape as a kid.
One of the few moments /co/, /tv/ and /v/ unite in grief
>The act of being hung from a noose uses the shock of the fall to break your neck,
For official hanging maybe, but normal people committing suicide really just suffocate because they never set it up properly for a "clean" death.
Jesus fucking christ. This is really hurting me emotionally.
This is hitting me so much harder than I expected. Depression is inexplicably horrible.
>Mods stickied this
anyways, Rest in Peace Robin, even if you did put out some shit movie
Just a friendly reminder.
FUCK YOU JAFAR
You made me laugh and then feel bad
>Hanging is the suspension of a person by a noose or ligature around the neck. The Oxford English Dictionary states that hanging in this sense is "specifically to put to death by suspension by the neck"
>ituations that can cause asphyxia include but are not limited to: the constriction or obstruction of airways, such as from asthma, laryngospasm, or simple blockage from the presence of foreign materials; from being in environments where oxygen is not readily accessible: such as underwater, in a low oxygen atmosphere, or in a vacuum; environments where sufficiently oxygenated air is present, but cannot be adequately breathed because of air contamination such as excessive smoke.
NOW SHUT UP, YOU FUCKTARDS
ROBIN WILLIAM IS DEAD, MY FRIEND IS DEAD
He wasn't supposed to die.
The system is broken.
At least we can still enjoy the work he brought us
DONT YOU FUCKIN EVEN
Thanks for everything Robbin..
See you on the other side..
Has Zelda said anything? Poor thing.
Give Robin my regards Carlos you piece of shit
I'm done, Carlos, I am so done.
>Night at the Museum 3
theres a third one?
>Forgetting that Arthur Rankin Jr. died this year too.
For fucks sake, Hoffman's death got a sticky and Rankin didn't. Surely /co/ should be filled with people who love the Rankin/Bass movies.
>immediately tell brother
>DAMMIT MAN BE SAD THIS IS GENIE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
>he starts playing this to humor me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KolfEhV-KiA
>mfe Rob would've wanted it this way
Bealocwealm hafað fréone frecan forth onsended

his dryhtne dyrest and maga deorost.
Nah, that's it. I'm seriously done. There's literally no hope left. I've been considering suicide for months now, and if someone rich and successful with a daughter who loves him is going to off himself, there's honestly no fucking point to me sticking around.
See you on the other side, Robin.
Fuck if my childhood didn't feel dead before....Now it has a date...
The neck-snapping part of hangings only really started happening in the late 1800's when they actually bothered calculating the height a body needs to fall for the neck to snap. Before that hangings had the guy kicking and jerking until he suffocated more often than it had a clean neck-snap. Sometimes the dude doing the hanging would just put his own weight on the body of the dude to make the neck-snapping happen. Hanging sure as fuck does not mean you die from neck-snapping.
Fuck. He looks a lot like my dad (People mistook him for Williams constantly when he was younger, once a fan came up to my father) and I always liked him as an actor. I felt almost as if a part of my family died. RIP Robin, you were a good man.
I can't think of another comedian who who managed to transition into drama so smoothly and successfully and give so many knock-out performances in both fields.
It's strange, I always thought there was a certain sad streak in many of his roles.
But I never would have picked him for suicidal.
.>. I mean the guy locked himself in a bathroom with his wife pleading with him not to do it and he just pulled the trigger.
I DIDN'T KNOW THIS PART OF IT
THIS MAKES IT EVEN SADDER NOW
>There is a Robin Williams thread going on in at least 15 different boards right now
God damn. He's the last actor I'd see killing themselves.
>no more chance for a cameo role in a live-action Evangelion film
>nor a Legend of Zelda one
ROBIN IS DEAD
Dammit Genie.... you were already free, you didn't have to be mortal too.
Unfortunate, but necessary to complete my plan.
Comedians are really smart guys most of the time.
Smart people are usually a lot more prone to suicide, as it's harder for them to not go around thinking depressing thoughts when they get started.
Williams had all the hallmarks of it too; manic moods, history of substance abuse, etc.
I wonder how the cast will react... I know the man playing Genie on Broadway right now has talked before about how Genie and Robin's performance was one of his inspirations to get into performing.
If Robin killed himself then I can't feel sorry for him, couldn't he see that Zelda will be ruined by this?
Did it even enter his mind at all? I had a friend whose father killed himself, he was a living mess and used drugs to escape, he always labeled himself as a failure since he believes he caused his father's suicide.
So one day he decided to end his life with a 12 gauge shotgun, Zelda won't be the same after this.
Fuck you Robin Williams.
That's the saddest new I've heard for a long time.
>tfw just heard this after listening to some of his old stand up.
>tfw I heard it was suicide
There goes any good mood I had today...
I really hope this wasn't a suicide. It's awful that a person could battle with depression and drugs for so many years, build himself a family and amazing successful career, only to eventually collapse under the pressure of his internal conflicts.
He was in a fantastic movie about dying and going to Heaven.
It's not that Bruce faked it. He just went to Valhalla to find a worthy fight.
Even to date, Odin has put a mock bounty on Bruce Lee and everyday he battles the greatest warriors of all time in a mass melee of one on one thousand.
Each night, he stands victorious.
I hate to say this but Robin really wasn't right for doing this shit, he had Zelda who loved him deeply, what will his suicide do to her will be horrible, she'll feel that it was her fault
Fuck it's just hitting me that this is happening. One of the best celeb VA jobs ever.
He was in Oogieloves.
Not that that's better.
Suicide gets you a one-way ticket to my realm.
>tfw I barely knew the guy
I feel bad for not getting to know him more. I wish I could share the pain you guys must be feeling right now.
It'll probably get lost in all the insanity of a sticky, but here's probably the best tribute to Williams that I can think of.
I apologize in advance for the shitty quality, I looked for awhile and that seems to be the only rip of the episode that's on the internet.
> I mean the guy locked himself in a bathroom with his wife pleading with him not to do it and he just pulled the trigger.
What a fucking piece of shit. To do that and leave a loved one with the thought that it was their fault for not being able to save you is fucking disgusting.
MAYBE IF I FIREBEND AT MY FEELINGS THEY'LL GO AWAY
you lying crying spying prying ultra pig... ;_;
Christopher Lloyd might die soon, along with Christopher Lee and others
In the extended version when Grima Wormtounge stabs Saruman in the back on top of the tower, Christopher Lee corrected the crew on the fact that when a person is stabbed in the back of the chest, they do not scream (as the film crew wanted), in fact the air is pushed out of their lungs and they "groan" with an exhalation of air, very quietly, as their lungs have been punctured. From Peter Jackson's DVD commentary: "When I was shooting the stabbing shot with Christopher, as a director would I was explaining to him what he should do...And he says, 'Peter, have you ever heard the sound a man makes when he?s stabbed in the back?' And I said, 'Um, no.' And he says 'Well, I have, and I know what to do.'" The crew said that they knew Christopher Lee had been in the British Royal Air Force Intelligence Service in World War Two, and they didn't really push him for more information about how he knew in such detail exactly what noise a person makes when this is done to them.
Robin was the voice behind the character. I loved this movie growing up. In fact i still have it.
FUCK. This is all I can think of, now.
The best goddamn episode of that show.
The US National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 1 8002738255. This is, unfortunately, a good a time as any to remind people of it.
Rest in peace, Williams. You were a damn fine man.
Ganondorf and Jafar are laughing together somewhere
2014 confirmed for the year of villainy
We just Infinite Crisis, guys
I don't know what I would do if Bill Murray died.
Ultimate Warrior died the day after he gave one last thanks to everyone. /wooo/ thinks he knew his time was coming.
On the subject of wrestling, add Mae Young to the list. Toughest old lady in the business.
Robin, eat your snickers, you are turning into a drama queen again lol
IT'S OKAY /CO/!
WE'LL SIMPLY GET PETER GRIFFIN TO MAKE US A NEW ROBIN WILLIAMS!
come on rufioh, show some respect here
I don't know, Shatner looks damn fine for a guy who's 83 years old, I mean even taking into account that he's had some minor plastic surgery done he still doesn't look a day over 50
You're an idiot. Neck snapping only happens when you hang yourself with a significant drop. And even then it doesn't necessarily kill you, you still die of asphyxia. A neck snap isn't immediately fatal.
But anon, the warriors of Valhalla spend each day fighting to train, only to be resurrected. Don't you see? Odin hasn't put a bounty on Bruce. He hired Bruce to train his army in preparation for Ragnarok.
>This news is so utterly horrible it's got /co/, /tv/, /v/, and /a/ all mourning
Why God, why?! It's not fair!
But Robin Williams was an Evangelion fan. The ultimate message of Evangelion was not to kill yourself, or "run away".
This year has been so shit. I was already really upset over H.R. Giger dying and now Robin has to go too, I swear if this year keeps up with being shit DeVito will be next.
I called a suicide hotline once and it just made me feel worse about myself. All they did was repeatedly ask if I was planning on killing myself and if I had a plan/way to do it, instead of actually responding to what I was saying about what I was going through.
>/wooo/ thinks he knew his time was coming.
Listen to his promo on the Raw after WM30. He knew his time was coming, though I doubt he expected it so soon. That's why he finally made up with WWE: so he'd have some way of helping to support his family after his death (the Legends contract he signed).
What about Ms Doubtfire? Is his best comedy role
>yfw Jim Carrey is the next
From a video where he's trying to encourage people not to let themselves be knocked down by other people's comments and opinions about them I get the feeling someone close was incessantly mocking his lifestyle.
People don't realize sometimes the small things that make you happy in life are all someone has.
Some people don't realize those few harsh comments they drop "just for laughs" or to "knock someone down a peg" are stacking up.
People don't realize the consequence of their thoughts, words and actions until it's tragically too late.
To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
Shut the fuck up
I swear to god if that happens
