if steven fuses with one of the gems will the fusion have a dick? new promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJrS0vRRDOk
Yeah she waited until he was broken and beat down from a rugged life of survival to take advantage of him. And when he found out Sadie had fabricated the entire thing, he was clearly upset and probably wouldn't have consented otherwise. Sadie is a rapist.
I don't think this show is terrible but it fucking confuses the shit out of me. EVERY episode without fail ends right before it's about to get good or go somewhere.
I can't tell if the writers are brilliantly avant-garde or have no idea what the fuck they're doing.
cliff hangers are fine. What's weird is that the episodes dont seem to have a three act structure. The episodes seem to end at the end of act 2 with the exception of maybe Giant Woman. There is no satisfying story meal, things "just happen."
Again, I don't think this makes the show bad per se. Just very very weird to watch. I don't watch adventure time so maybe this is just common practice now.
The season finale isn't a two parter, it's a four parter. Of course this is all just speculation, but it does contain some actual spoilers, for those who haven't read the list of episode descriptions.
The Message: The gems receive a message from the Wailing Stones warning them of an impending invasion
Political Power: The gems cut the power to Beach City as it might be drawing attention to the temple. Steven explains to Mayor Dewey what is happening
The Return: The gem's plan to hide the town fails as a crew of gems arrive. Mayor Dewey tries to save face with the new gem overlords by demanding the Crystal Gems be arrested
Jail Break: Lapis returns to help Steven. She saw how much changed while she was gone and knows she can only trust Steven. She sent the message to the Wailing Stones to warn them
Granted if Sadie DID wanna have her way with lars I don't think he'd be strong enough to stop her.
I still don't get, when they're warping, if they're in on other planets/in other dimensions or if they're on earth.
I mean a lot of the locations they go to are fantastical with oddities but that one time they just paddled home.
Their gems would fuse into Steven's body. But their physical forms would overlay onto Steven's body like armor.
Garnet + Steven = Jasper
Amethyst + Steven = Agate
Pearl + Steven = Rose Alabaster.
I'm gonna bet that due to Steven having an organic form and not being a hologram like the other gems, "Fusion" will result in him essentially wearing gem-themed armor of whoever he fuses with.
If any drawfags come by, I've got a Peridot request.
She's down on her hands and knees looking around through mounds of garbage intently with a flustered expression. She only has nine fingers.
Ive seen all of them save for, onion trade, island adv, and watermelon steven.
The past two episodes have been the most guilty of what I'm talking about:
>Steven is having trouble with Lion and finds a video of his mother. It's like a run on sentence story telling wise.
>same thing with this weeks: Steven thinks something weird is going on and the gems discover a new gem as been tooling with the warps. Then the episode ends.
Both of these episodes, while interesting; felt incomplete. There was no action climax. No crowning moment of personal growth. Things happen, but feel meaningless or unmotivated. It's just weird.
as if she'd allow a petty human to get the jump on her.
You know if getting them pregnant kill the gems why don't they just get a sperm canon to nullify the gems invading from space? It's not like a sperm canon would bod something Ronaldo wouldn't build if he learned their weakness.
I did feel personal growth in Steven after he stood up to the gems and got to prove them that he was right after all. And I'm gonna agree with you here, the logic of structure would suggest that you end the episode after the discovery is made, but it didn't. But I guess we had to find out what Steven saw.
Lion 3 felt more like a culmination of an entire season worth of wait to finally see the character speak, in person. I can see how you might've felt there was no resolution though.
She's slowly growing on me when you fuckers keep posting shit like this
it's a weird show. the characters are weird, the world is weird, they do unexplained things all the time. it's part of the whole vibe
if you want something more conventional there's a lot of other stuff out there for you to watch.
Not so sure about Pearl
I suppose the whole rose thing makes more sense in the context of a season finale. Plus, it was our first look at Rose. I just wish it had come at a time when steven needed it most; like when he was at his ultimate low point or something. Like heck I dunno, during a climax of some kind.
Thanks for having intelligent discussion points. I'm not here to shit on anything, we're all students of storytelling.
>watch something else then
no. I will continue to watch this show and have thoughts about it, sorry.
With a name like "Alone Together" I think Steven's human's physiology means when he fuses with someone, his mind stays there, just with the added power from the combined gem. Then the trouble becomes getting the other gem back out.
>I will continue to watch this show and have thoughts about it, sorry.
You should keep watching! But if you're watching SU and expecting it to have conventional structures and stories, you're barking up the wrong tree
What fascinates me is the Gems have been out of touch with their civilization for at least 1000 years, most likely longer. We can't trust anything they say on gem civilization because it's been so damn long since they've interacted with it.
Pearl discovers tea and peeing in the same day (no, this isn’t meant to be fetish stuff, I was just bored).
OH SHIT A STEVEN UNIVERSE CREW MEMBER POSTED THIS FROM HALLOWEEN!! IT WAS A SPOILER ALL ALONG!!
Fuuuuck if my legs were longer I'd have her bodytype
Pearl has been Raiden for a long time.
I've just finished rebuilding Amethyst's legs. I can see that I need to push out the lower area of her stomach and reshape her right buttock a bit, but what do you guys think? Did I push her backside out too far? Also, don't worry about the black outfit stuff. I just removed her clothes and hair so she could be viewed in her entirety without being obstructed.
So would this confer a greater sense of control and unity over the actions of these volatile fusions? Maybe the 4 way fusion is dangerous because you've got 4 personalities tugging at the same body, but when it's just Steven he'll be able to control it all by himself. That way, fusing into these things are much safer and effective, due to Steven.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the hole in the head. Don't pay any mind to that.
it's going to be Lion, resulting in the Gem equivalent of GaoGaiGar; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpfTvHLvnbE
how about Connie training to "Get Strong In The Real Way" cause she wants to be able to keep up with Steven in his adventures
>Connie sat in her room, her bed covered in papers.
>Papers covered in plans.
>Plans for what, you may ask.
>Plans to finally get a kiss from the magical boy that had stolen her heart
>Now, each plan was based around several, books, tv shows, and movies, and they always worked in those!
>"Now, let's try plan 16. The fall into kiss."
>The very next hour
>Connie and Steven were walking across the beach, idly chatting about the latest episode of Under the Knife.
>Connie decided to initiate the plan. But first, she needed Steven to stand still.
>"Doesn't that cloud look like Garnet?"
>"Just keep looking. I think I saw a cool shell over there. I'll be right back."
>Connie jogged a good distance and looked over at Steven.
>He was still trying to find that cloud.
>She began running.
>Right towards him.
>"I see one that looks like Amethyst, but not Gar-what are you doing?"
>But it was too late for her to anwser. Their lips would connect in 3…2…1
>There was no lip connection, but their foreheads got very well acquainted.
>"Why would you do that!?"
>"I don't know! I was running at you because"
>"I needed to…ask you a question."
>Steven rubbed his forehead while helping Connie up.
>"What was it?"
>Plan 16. Failed.
>Connie would succeed. Even if she had to tie Steven down.
>Oh wait, that's plan 96.
Am I the only person who thinks that Peridot should be this browbeaten wage slave working under an infuriating and labyrinthine Gem bureaucracy who puts up a front as a pitiless, domineering warrior as a form of escape fantasy?
>Steven and the gems do a crazy dramatic and acrobatic entrance before assuming battle stance.
>Peridot stares, mutters "Eight gem bucks an hour isn't worth this," and walks away.
Command Log, Warp Pad maintenance is now com-Wait? I hear what.. sounds like a strange moist sound behind me? It sounds like... fap fap? Am now investigating.
I think that's just supposed to be cute. Doesn't he man up later in the episode.
It seems his maturity fluctuates whenever the plot calls for it. He'll likely be way better near the end of the season.
Does anybody remember the name of that cartoon Ian J was pitching and if it ever got green-lit?
>Peridot gets abandoned on Earth
>forced to join the gems or die
>she reluctantly joins them
>one night she's looking for her fingers
>a strange metallic crunching noise emanates from the kitchen area of the house
>Peridot is worried, but certainly the gems wouldn't do anything to upset their newest member?
>she finds Pearl and Garnet egging Amethyst on as she eats her fingers
>Amethyst: Ya know, Peridot. These are the worst french fries I've ever had.
>Peridot breaks down and starts crying. It'll take her weeks to build new fingers
>Garnet puts her arm around Peridot and says "It's okay. We've gotten you replacements."
>The gems take her to the Fry Shack to get fitted for greasy organic fingers that either break when she tries to use them, or Amethyst eats
>Peridot is starting to suspect that these things aren't even fingers at all.
>Peridot seeks vengeance against the Crystal Gems after being put on unpaid administrative leave pending a performance evaluation for leaving the deactivated worker drones behind.
The EMP thing seems to be the result of a device, not innate to her.
> tfw no more Peedee forever.
Oh well, still a good show.
>"Peridot, summon your weapon!"
>"I, uh, I'm a warp repair tech."
>"So you can't summon anything?"
>"I can pop out a multi-spectrum diagnostic scanner."
>"Can you hit people with it?"
>"...Yeah. It's pretty heavy."
>And now, an episode of Crying Breakfast Friends
>"Waffle, why are you crying?"
>"My wife is cheating on me with Milk!"
>"Then why are you crying Milk"
>"She gave me mold!"
>Tune in next week for more Crying Breakfast Friends!
New Thursdays short previews including next weeks Alone Together https://youtube.com/watch?v=JE6SIDeblb0
Just look how happy Garnet is
About 76% of Secret's art of Peedee was him half nude, how could you miss any of that.
Don't bullshit me anon.
And Para I think you're an okay guy, so stop samefagging.
Okay, bullshit theory time.
So the gems we thought were corrupted are likely just babies, yeah? They're "born" at full power but lack higher cognitive functions, and the primitive brain protects itself by assuming an equally primitive form. The end result is that for the first few hundred years of their life cycles gems are all gigantic nightmarish beasts that viciously attack anything that moves. Ergo, to protect gem population centers gem offspring are all spawned on backwater garden worlds (like Earth) watched over by nursemaids (like Rose) where the violent baby gems that ruthlessly beat the shit out of each other until they mature enough to stop being angry little shits, assume a humanoid form, and join the Gempire as a productive citizen.
Then humans evolved on earth, and Rose saw beauty in them, so she started to contain the babby gems when the two species clashed. Blah blah blah, whatever.
Also, this got me thinking... what exactly are the Crystal Gem's ages? Maybe the shapeshifting powers gems possess is further linked to age. Amy is clearly the youngest of the gems, and she's also the most avid shifter. Perhaps as a gem continues to age, their form becomes less and less fluid. Amethyst is only a few hundred years removed from her larval stage, so she can still change her shape at will. Garnet is of middling age, and so does it very rarely -the most we've ever seen her do is a Steven form and lots of stretchy-arm. Pearl is the eldest, and either can't shapeshift (beyond wardrobe changes) or finds shapeshifting very difficult.
Both Lapis and Peridot have diamonds in their clothes.
reposting link to the collection of Gem OC's I made last night covering Gems from Abalone to Zoisite and everything in between; https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6bVySu-Tl0LUzJUeFlLamd3MjA&usp=sharing
which ones do you like best?
so all what do you expect steven gem fusions to look like
Steve and Pearl: Dual blade staff similar to Inquisitor's lightsaber from Rebels. The spin function creates a frontal energy shield
Steve and Amy: Brawler. Gloves wrapped in thorns for melee and projectile thorn punches
Steve and Garnet: THE WALL! Two giant bulwarks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPfa5VuTVN4
post it and I might add it, the vast majority of those were just those I could find on Tumblr that didn't suck, haven't really searched anywhere else for the most part
if you don't like it you don't have to look at it
I think your assumptions are a tad too wild and speculative, but hey it was bullshit theory time.
I think until said otherwise, its best to just presume all gems are the same age and are essentially lifeless to the degree that relative age, if they are aged differently, is pointless to consider. I think its an interesting thoery about age making them lose "elasticity" and not be able to shapeshift, but personally i just think its down to their personality and how each gem sees fit to use their powers.
Naw If I had to guess Pearl and Steven would be a Giant Spartan or a knight
Amy and Steven would have a Yoyo
Steven and garnet Gauntlets that she can connect for a giant wall shield
We've already seen concept art for their fusion hanging on the wall of one of their offices. Granted, it's probably from Steven's imagination like the other "fusion" production art.
okay Moonstone has been added
what can I say I'm a giant Weeb, so once both Lion and Fusion became things on the show it became pretty obvious to suggest them fusing in a Gaogaigar manner(possibly with some other Gem Beasts as well)
>implying the invasion isn't just to go to earth and take back any gem and gem based technology they can find for the war they're in with another species in space
>a race of horrible giants made of silver who shoot lasers and reside in a nebula known to earth as
Wait, didn't the gems bake a cake in the comics or in an earlier episode and it turned out all fucked up?
I thought the idea of cooking food was completely alien to them? Amethyst is the only one who seems to enjoy eating, and I was under the impression she just bought all her meals.
Like Peedee? Have more Ronaldo!
gradually due to fusing with Steven, the other Crystal Gems have also fallen in love with Connie, and now Steven and Connie must sort this mess out before things get weird even by Beach City standards...
they've obviously taken some cooking lessons since then(that and the comics aren't quite canon)
I assume it works under porn rules: It'll always fit, especially when the girl says it won't.
Maybe it's like a two-and-a-half-some.
in the case of this episode, I feel like the reason the gems are trying to teach Steven how to fuse is to prepare him for whatever the hell is coming after the last episode.
i might be right, i might be wrong, thats ust what I feel this'll be about
>Pearl undermines Steven again
For being the smart one of the group she sure can be retarded at times.
>Oh, Steven! You're going to love it! I've made some recordings for you to study. We have Baryshnikov, Taglioni, Kirkland... and I'll teach you the proper dance steps myself, of course. We have to be in perfect rhythm if we're to fuse. Synchronicity, you know!
>There you go! Yes, like that... no no, put your feet here. Move... here, follow my movements. See?
>What's wrong? No, don't be silly! It isn't weird at all! Fusion is the purest expression of trust and familial bonding known to Gemkind! A spiritual oneness that brings the fusing parties together into a glorious amalgam of- oh, have I already given this speech?
>Your first fusion is a cause of great celebration, Steven! You have no idea how much of an honor it is for me to-
>Well, yes. Steven, but this is important for us to-
>I... I see. You'd... you'd rather fuse with Amethyst.
>No, no! Not at all! You two have complementing personalities, the fusion might be much smoother. Easier.
>You and Amethyst are so close. I'm sure it will be f-fine.
>Yes, you should go get prepared, Steven. Amethyst has much to teach you.
>O-of course. I'll be along shortly.
>I just... need to sit and rest for a moment, that's all.
Is it me or do the Monster Gems have imperfections? the Glow Worm has a gem held together with metal banding, and is generally asymmetrical, the Ice Monster seems to have a chip missing out of it.
Does breaking cause corruption?
I polished this piece, I changed what she said though.
Can someone update this with Lapis and Peridot?
Any drawfag could this with Peridot and her drone that would be swell
I like how Ms. Raven's boarded stories have the most full bodied Pearl, but the personality is like Double D. Also that her Amethyst is very friendly and has big round eyes. And that her Garnet cries and her Pearl gets wet.
Haven't been in many of these threads so forgive me if this has been brought up before. But, I think we're missing a gem here...
Pearl: Single Facet Gem
???: 2 Facet Gem
Garnet: 3 Facet Gem & 4 Facet Gem
Rose Quartz/Steven: 5 Facet Gem
Amethyst: 6 Facet Gem
>horde of nameless drones
>mind their own business usually, but easily provoked into a vicious swarm
>green gem whose main power seems to be using a computer
>merciless, paranoid, and constantly disdainful
What an interesting combination of traits, I wonder where I've seen something like that before.
Perhaps the monsterication happens only after "death" I mean AMY was getting more and more noodly and making less sense as time went on, maybe once she "Died" she'd put herself back together as some kind of noodly whip monster.
This is admittedly a weak premise/theory on my part.
STEVEN BE MY SURROGATE CHILD
im actually embarassed by how bad this edit is but i cant be assed to install photoshop on this new computer just for one terrible joke
I think there's more to it then simply cracking a gem.
Though it would make sense since the gem fragments they had to fight in Secret Team seem corrupt and part of either multiple gems or one entity.
>if steven fuses with one of the gems will the fusion have a dick?
two seconds of screentime with Peridot and /co/ has already characterized her as a low ranking, overworked, sadistic gem engineer who has the inability to create drones without the ability to love
>Problem: Steven feels sad about not knowing his mother.
>Problem intensifies: Steven is having trouble with Lion misbehaving.
>Resolution: it turns out Lion is trying to show Steven a video of his mother.
>Worldbuilding: we meet Steven's mother for the first time.
>Problem: Steven sees something in the warp and nobody believes him.
>Problem intensifies: the gems investigate and find nothing, still not believing Steven.
>Resolution: Steven investigates on his own and finds proof. The gems believe him.
>Worldbuilding: the gems discover a new gem has been fixing the warps.
You just can't follow more than one plot thread at once. It's not even convoluted.
I'm just going to say it. this looks like the face of a coward. The moment she realized she could be in even the least bit of trouble she ran without even trying to look around.
Its what we do.
I think you should stop projecting your own problems onto other anons.
I figured as much. I wouldn't even think the gems has human sex organs anyways, not that I put as much thought into it as the OP clearly has.
She's an engineer. Probably not much in the way of combat training.
Alternately, she could just be under express orders not to engage. She went the extra mile to zap her drones with an EMP so they couldn't be used by the enemy; that says her mission was likely a stealth one.
Maybe the side she works for is currently fighting against a third faction?
>head to backwater planet to prepare for reclaimation
>find native markings on the homeworld warp and several others, possibly religious or ritualistic
>only way to reach spot is through the warp pads
>realise natives may have reverse engineered your technology
>get the fuck out of there because one versus one million are not good odds
Seems reasonable to me.
>Hear stories about these warriors that killed thousands of their kind on Earth
>They've been assumed dead, but rumors float around that they could have survived.
>Be a normal engineer/scientist.
>Asked to visit planet that the wars were committed on.
>Dnt believe rumors.
>Until you find…something that shouldn't be there.
>Suddenly you are afraid.
>You're not gonna die because of a maintenance check.
They've always been a dark blue/dark purple. If you load up her original character sheet and use the color picker tool in photoshop, this is the color it comes back as.
I changed a couple of things. Also, thanks to that anon who helped with your redraw i really appreciate it.
>As punishment, I'll make my fingers rotate and vibrate at really high speeds and press them hard against your soft tissues!
>What are you doing? Why aren't you writhing in pain? What are those stupid sounds you're making?
>I'll just have to go deeper! Harder and deeper!
>That'll teach you good!
And to this day, Peridot truly and honestly believes that Lapis Lazuli is immune to being tortured.
That's because Steven IS and always WILL be a clown.
I need to stop making these SU anime things.
knew I saved this for a reason.
>Steven and Garnet
>Almost Sugilite height, adult steven-ish proportions
>Lower left and upper right hands have big pink kite/tower shields
>Upper left and lower right hands have rose's swords
I imagine all the Garnet fusions are really tall, and Alexandrite's height lends itself mostly to Garnet.
She could have easily not been the one to make the robots, especially since they're primarily blue, which doesn't color match anything on her. Plus there are a lot of them, seemingly more than she'd need to repair any set of warp pads quickly.
there's more foreshadowing than anything. The plot kinda picks up every now and then, but the show is mostly cute shenanigans and ukelele songs.
and of course, everyone shits themselves whenever there's something new is introduced, which will likely happen next week as well.
>it recreates crystal life, the same type on Gem homeworld
>Gem homeworld is basically a bombed-out apocalyptic wasteland devoid of life
>they begin a frantic operation to kidnap and enslave Steven to rejuvenate their planet
Whenever I hear these "kidnap Steven and enslave him for healing essence" things I always kinda imagine it all going bad when Stevens frustration and resentment start tainting the healing.
>mfw Rose's rebellion is still happening
>mfw the rebels have been lying in wait for the last thousand years
>mfw they are rising once again
>mfw the next gem we see could be a spy
>mfw she's taken form in human likeness
>it turns out that while rose quartz is a relatively abundant gemstone on Earth, it is exceedingly rare around the rest of the galaxy
>while initially arriving in order to capture Steven, upon scanning the planet they find the large deposits of rose quartz and decide to switch to hollowing the world put to create more
>why capture an unruly rose quartz when you could make a dozen fresh ones, especially when all that's standing in your way are some insignificant natives and exactly four rebels?
actually no. I have not. this is the closest thing.
They'd probably create as many as they could if it would save their civilization/species, a dozen is an extreme low ball estimate. Plus I doubt they would let a little thing like a few billion native casualties get in the way if it meant saving their own.
>Yfw Steven fuses with Connie by kissing her
Hey, I recognize the shape of that head and body!
She looks a little too boy-ish with short hair, I prefer the long hair.
Am I the only one who noticed and is kinda worry of how supportive Garnet is? Like she would put Steven life at risk if Steven himself think he "can do it" whatever "it" may be. I have a feeling if Steven for whatever reason told her that he hates her then she wouldn't take it nearly as well as the other two might. Not going apeshit kind of way but in the so heartbroken that she won't even stand kind of way.
The other two at least make it very known that they will disagree with Steven if needed which is sometimes better then someone who only supports.
Maybe I am just over thinking it?
Yeah, she's too blindly supportive of Steven. I'm even convinced she's lying most of the time, where she'll just say she's supportive of him but in reality knows he can't do it. Steven doesn't deserve unquestioning trust yet.
>Would Garnet handle being told no well?
I meant more of lately when he actually starting to show his true potential.
I was somewhat thinking that too. Make him feel good then and there and worry about the issue at hand later. If he somehow work out the issue then bonus points.
Some girls are pretty as girly girls, some are better as tomboys. Most people like Toph for being a tomboy, not girly. And most people like Mabel for being girly instead of a tomboy.
Yeah, I don't think I like the "college liberal hipster dyke" look for Connie.
Unless you're living in a post apocalyptic world or are in an 80s biker gang, there is literally no excuse to have a haircut like that.
Objectively correct opinions.
What if Garnet stops being able to swim in lava? Which reminds me, those beetles have been completely absent for a while now.
I think she'd keep him from doing something if it was crazy enough, but only if it was approaching the kind of thing she's forbid Pearl or Amethyst from doing. She sees him as part of the team, and herself as being his leader at least as much as his mother figure.
Sorta? the two occasions i can think of where Steven has a near breakdown are Serious Steven and Indirect Kiss, both of which are episodes where Garnet really leans on the "you can do it" angle, not seeming to realize the pressure it puts Steven under. The kid already tends to obsess about his worth to the team as is, and when he starts feeling like he can't get the results they need...
It's a really good thing Connie's eyes fixed when they did, because given the way Stevens powers can interact with his emotions it's entirely possible he might have depressed himself to death or something.
Each of the gems offer him a different kind of support he needs, Garnet believes in him and gives him opportunities to develop, Amethyst understands that he needs to relax a little and tends to be the one who pays most attention to his mood, and Pearl cares for him and teaches him. none of them alone could really handle raising him though.
she knows the limits of his power and interferes when necessary, and certainly isnt above saving him
she pushes him because she wants him to grow, while pearl wants him to stay a child that she can care for and amethyst doesnt really care either way
>steven knows who the best girl is
