Who knows, maybe it's like Black Lagoon and Hellsing where it thrives in a later slot. The real problem now is Shitpudding, going from the full bore hype train to just a full bore isn't working out
I cannot wait for shit to get lewd, just to see if they're doing any censoring.
Last week's ratings are finally out too for Toonami. Not sure how the post-Toonami comedy rerun block did.

>Minor Content Restrictions were in effect for the 5am slot mostly to ensure a smooth transition to CN programming. "You couldn't have Hellsing and go to Gumball."
>Toonami is in no danger of dying
>The Six hour upgrade was a network mandate, they only wanted the three hours + Loop.
>The Budget has not been damaged in any way.
>Intruder 2 has potential for sponsorship
>Expect Intruder sometime in the back half of 2015, to quote Demarco, "Not December, but the back half."
>Continued to repeat the "Toonami will not be the same after it."
>Maybe expect something at Momocon
>"Doing really good CGI takes a Loooootttt of Time, and a lot of money and we don't have much of it."
>The Comic is still being worked on.
>Demarco never expected the Toonami merch to take off.
>The 3D Printer TOM Figures were not to their liking.
>A Tom Figure would need to be done by a third party. They do want one to be made though.
>Demarco says the staff has barely have enough money to make Toonami run every week like they want.
>Felt that the other imitator blocks like Jetix never had the 'heart' like Toonami did, treated the audiences like idiots.
>Demarco wants more Simuldubs to happen, and thinks Funi's doing a very smart thing and more companies should do it as fast as possible to adapt.
>Older shows are still on the table but someone has to come to them for it. Outlaw Star would have a good chance if it was Remastered.
>"Every Decision is still a Cost-Benefit Analysis."
>The budget is still miniscule, though it is bigger than what it used to be.
>Recognizes that they already have a lot of long runners and they're not sure they want another.
>Demarco likes the current mix of long and short.
>Thinks nothing can top DBZ right now
>Would show Outlaw Star over YYH right now.
>Expansion is on the table "Anything is possible. The network will do what they think is best. Ratings are the biggest factor."
>Demarco has been assured from people above his head (Lazzo?) that "Toonami isn't going anywhere."
>But everything is finite, Toonami will most likely end again, just not in the foreseeable future.
>More emphasis that Ratings are the biggest factor.
>"You can't expect the network to put money down for the least watched hours of television period."
>Praised the amazing dedication of Toonami fans, said in regards to the change, "You can go to bed now, you can go to bed now without having to worry about damaging Toonami. Put down the mountain dews and go to bed at 3:30."
>Thinks the schedule change is ultimately good for Toonami he was only angry about how last minute it was
>The Change was unpreventable from the Networks point of view.
"Toonami has been competitive in its Time Slot for week after week after week up until a few weeks ago. The network has done a good job helping us with better lead-in's now by lopping off the back half of what was dragging us down." The improved ratings are already showing signs of it
>Says he knows about as much as we do, cannot effect everything above his pay-grade
>Says new shows are coming, that people will like it
>"Watch Toonami wherever you can. Watch it every week at some point, help trend it, the aggregate of all of it helps Toonami, everything helps. Toonami is the important part, not the shows themselves."
>No shows have been lost period as of now. Example includes GitS said they helped produce it
>Bleach will eventually go away called it a "Workhorse" show. Not worried about it, glad that they got to complete it
>Several options are being looked at for the 3AM slot. Nothing has been decided
>Said that the ultimate goal for this block is for it to be straight premieres, or things that haven't been aired in a long time as in years or longer
>8:30 King of the Hill (r) 0.55 781
>9:00 King of the Hill (r) 0.64 902
>5:00a King of the Hill (r) 0.7 808
>5:30a King of the Hill (r) 0.7 869
wut. Who the fuck actually watches KOTH at 5 AM?
>Love hearing suggestions from the Tumblr, it helps them stay up to date said that they do really look into the things that they get sent in.
>The Trends are helping, a LOT, it's what's kept them sponsored
And thats all of it. Pretty clear this was some emergency damage control, but it had lots of good info, way more than the most recent q&a atleast. Best things I saw are they acknowledge we have enough long runners and reruns likely won't be picked up anymore.
>Who the fuck actually watches KOTH at 5 AM?
>"Toonami has been competitive in its Time Slot for week after week after week up until a few weeks ago. The network has done a good job helping us with 1) better lead-ins now (More FOX shows as well as popular AS originals in the hours leading up to Toonami; Black Dynamite has been cancelled because of how its poor ratings affected Toonami, Sit Down Shut Up will be pulled after this run, if not sooner, because of its mediocre ratings in KOTH's usual timeslot, and Home Movies will probably never air on AS again) and 2) by lopping off the back half of what was dragging us down." The improved ratings are already showing signs of it.
Sadly, FOX reruns are starting to do better than Toonami did in those hours...
>last weeks thread
>all those people shocked that BD got cancelled
Did any of you REALLY expect it to get another season? It's a high budget show that consistently pulled mediocre ratings. How anyone is surprised it got canned is beyond me. I'm more surprised it got to have a second season
I don't think you know what off screen means. I mean sure they didn't show insertion but come on. That scene was a little out of place for the series too, most of the time the nudity was either practical or part of a joke and seldomly used provocatively for those of you pointing a finger at kill la kill for "pandering fanservice". At least the fan service was integrated into the main plot some what for once.
None. For the first time ever AS is running a bump about the Toonami lineup revolving around KLK. Also this, there are no surprises for them.
You guys are retarded who think KLK will be some huge media shitstorm for AS.
They won't air PSG because Demarco is a fun hating faggot, no other reason
>One Piece moved down
>it starts doing better
I'm sure they have a knee jerk reaction to this and move OP up come March and it will be in the shitter again. Some shows just do better later
Demarco can be a fucking asshole at times. Like, it's because of his goddamn ego is the reason why Toonami got butchered in the first place. That is actually a legit good question too especially how Toonami said at one point they will never air Kill la Kill
>Did any of you REALLY expect it to get another season? It's a high budget show that consistently pulled mediocre ratings. How anyone is surprised it got canned is beyond me. I'm more surprised it got to have a second season
That's because they premiered new episodes of an Adult Swim show on a SATURDAY. If Black Dynamite was broadcasted on a Sunday night like how the rest of AS's premieres are, its ratings would've been a lot higher
>Does anyone get fucked up the butt in Kill la Kill?
Lets be honest, they wanted BD to fail. No advertising, for the regular or the special, shit timeslot, not on Sunday like every other premier.
If they didn't want it to get canned they would have tried harder
>things get lewd
Also is holo anon here? because I'm uploading all the pictures to imgur like I promised.
We may be in luck, with the change to the block they may branch out to a different kind of show, or be forced to pick up cheap stuff
And in there defense, never at any time did they say KLK couldn't air. They said censorship would be an obstacle, then the fans added in their own brainless commentary about LOL 2LEWD NEVER EVER NOT A CHANCE
No, they don't. "Hardcore anime fans" are probably the least important demo for Toonami, because they don't like dubs and have probably seen everything on the block
Toonami is a casual block, and that's who they pander to to survive
>That's kind of what off screen means.
No it doesn't. Off screen means the place and time it happens wasn't shown. Just because they didn't animate lesbian incest fingering rape, doesn't mean it happened off screen.
Fuck Demarco, gimmie muh Stocking.
>PAS is shit though
Back to work Jason, PAS is better than half the shit on AS
How about chinese electric batman?
The main problem was that Attack on Titan really loses its luster after the first viewing. Its doesn't have much rewatch value. And this is coming from someone who likes the show.
>Toonami is a casual block, and that's who they pander to to survive
KLK slips out of that comfortable "Anime that the average person will watch and like and think is so out there and cool" and slap into "Anime you would be embarassed to show others people because they would stare at you like you were a complete fucking freak".
The hardcore anime geeks who aren't total degenerate imbeciles with no social contact what so ever can tell you which is which and KLK stops being the former pretty goddamned fast.
Fairy Tale. It's shounen as fuck and has the right amount and type of fanservice.
Guys, its almost been a full year, and I cant find her Hotglue anywhere.
I need it man, I need it.
If you want a show with rewatch value. Baccano is your best bet.
>That scene was a little out of place for the series too
You want to make it clear super fast what the difference between an antagonist and a villain is, esp considering the reveal that Satsuki isn't the villain of the show. It was entirely in place.
>Fanart used for Ryuko and Satsuki (look at their uniforms)
>Bulma is the middle-aged Buu version
>Shiro over Warden G
>Nami in green level
>DBZ at the top of the peak
>One Piece ratings secured for as long as the Enis Lobby arc continues
>KLK good for at least half the season
Only worries are what the replace Deadman and Lagann with now that they're under 10 eps remaining
Probably FLCL or IGPX or something. I know FLCL has always been adult swim's "We are scrambling to find something, watch this in the meantime" anime.
Then they will probably announce something soon.
Tone it down, Demarco, fuck.
Does that count as a spoiler?
So, what did you think about this stupid thing?
>that drop from KLK to Naruto
God damn talk about whiplash. Pretty impressive though that despite having our hours cut we managed to reach thread 10.
This was mentioned in the podcast interview, the two major roadblocks for Yu Yu Hakusho are its age (newer shows tend to do better) and the fact that it'd take over two years to get through.
So I don't get it. On Gurren Lagann, if Genome was so worried about humans breaking out from the surface, why didn't he give them better living conditions so they wouldn't be tempted?
And why didn't he tell Rosshit about the Gunmen being effective on the Anti-Spirals? Was it a "fuck you" to the people who overthrew him?
He did tell them about the Gunmen. They didn't bring his head to life until they hit a million. Rossiu had the Gunmen scrapped way before that. Because you know, ditching the equipment you used to overthrow an empire is always a solid idea
Wasn't Fate/Zero number one on an Aniplex poll list right? With Madoka in second?
I'm just worried about the first episode due to it being an hour-long, actionless exposition episode
Luffy's a bad ass, that's why! Sanji wants to be a bad ass but his honor won't let him.
>kill la kill
how late am I to finding out this is real?
You just know Boa and her sisters were raped over and over when they were slaves of the celestial dragons. Also, besides Don Flamingo and his brother, why are all the CD portrayed as fucking ugly looking?
Genome was an asshole and had been a loner his entire life so he didn't care very much for people and preferred animals. He wanted them to be totally subjugated, if they had nice living conditions they won't be occupied by survival so they would want to go up to the surface.
They didn't activate his head until the antispirals attacked. It would have been a good idea to do it to ask what he meant by 1 million apes but that's not good for plot.
>ditching the equipment you used to overthrow an empire is always a solid idea
They didn't though. They got rid of the the symbols of humanity's oppression that had killed countless humans before, the Gunmen, and kept Gurren Lagann, the symbol of humanity's freedom and modeled all the mechs after them. The Grapearls were better than Gunmen for their job. They didn't even really know about spiral energy before the antispirals showed.
>Only 8 year olds watched DBZ
Are you fucking retarded?
They had every male from 8 to fucking college aged on lock.
In many parts of the country DBZ dwarfed FRIENDS in pure numbers. And that was back when it was popular and they were going full headlights.
Embarassing fucktardation. I shit you not people LAUGHED at the scarf thing. Not on message boards with jaded assholes, like...people who were in the theatres and children.
That and naruto sounds and as a consequence looks like a middle aged lesbian.
That's not the point. Anyone with a brain can stream anything at anytime now. You can't hold episodes away from people anymore because they will fuck off and go stream it themselves
It's lesbian and older woman raping a young teen girl. They have no problem with that and if you read the vagina monologues it's even lionized. Hell it reads like a how to manual.
The normal people out there are going to be more then a bit skeeved out.
Next Aniplex show will likely be Fate. Whether or not they'll add another show from them is the question. I mean they already have KlK running.
Fate's probably a solid choice regardless though since if it's popular there's another series that'll be waiting in the wing once it's done.
Sexuality was certainly present in the tone sure and I guess it kind of played into that, you have a point but there really weren't any other "explicit sex scenes" is what I meant.
>They won't ever get Dragonball Z I can assure that
>They won't ever get Kill La Kill I can assure that
>They won't ever get Gurren Lagann I can assure that
Can we just fucking admit you can never say never, even if THEY do?
yep and neither is that shitheap you posted
This anon knows.
you're gonna be disappointed when there is none.
Post your Dub Rank Opinions
>Ryuko - OK, needs some work
>Satsuki - OK, gotta hear more though
>Mako - Annoying, but I guess it works; has enthusiasm
>Senketsu - Eh
>Gamagoori - Good(that fucking laugh)
>Monkey - Eh
>Nonon - Good; almost perfect
>Whatshisname - Ok
>Boxer Guy - Nailed it
It's really in though, just gotta hear more of them.
Because it's technically new and on going. Although it fucking kills the KLK hype. Sure it gives us 30 minutes of discussion, but not for everyone else.
But moving KLK up front might create another Titan Scenario.
>Naruto in front of KLK
>going to get requests about Naruto fucking Ryuko alll day
Even though I feel Naruto should be pushed back 1 or 2 slots, they shouldn't change anything until they get a new show or two in march. At that point, put the new show(s) in front of it then movie it back.
>-Tiger and Bunny
Isn't there some issue with in-show advertisements with that?
>-Sailor Moon Redub
Toonami needs to a. get the fuck away from nostalgia shows, and b. get the fuck away from older shows in general. They should really be aiming for 2010+ shows.
Is Samurai Flamenco still in the NEVER EVER pile?
This is the full list of what Viz has that are at least action shows (and haven't aired):
>Accel World [Has been suggested by a fair amount of people in the past and it's from the author of SAO. Maybe it could come later in the year to air alongside SAO II]
>Blood Lad [Only has 11 episodes so it might be a bit short]
>Buso Renkin [Might be on the tipping point of being too old, also I hear it's terrible]
>Gargantia [Mecha series, but also short]
>K [Short but has a sequel season coming soon, don't know much about it]
>Lagrange [Mecha series, though the trailer really feels like it wouldn't work on Toonami]
>Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan [Shonen that could potentially work if they want a year-long show at some point, but it doesn't feel like now is the right time]
>Sailor Moon [They aren't picking up another long-runner at the moment, so no]
>Sailor Moon Crystal [They have the license but it won't be dubbed until after the 200 episodes of the original. File it under "maybe in the future"]
>Tiger & Bunny [Best possible option]
>Vampire Knight [I'm literally gagging and dry heaving here]
>Zetman [Short, but it could be interesting]
So thankfully with Viz, it's a bit easier to figure out what Toonami could get from them. Potentially Tiger & Bunny is the best option, but for a show replacing Gurren Lagann, they might go for Gargantia if only to continue having at least one mecha representative on the block.
Keep in mind we're getting two slots freed up in March, so another show might be on the table. DeMarco has said he wants to get to the point of having nothing but premieres on the block, and filling that in with Bebop wouldn't exactly be moving towards that.
>>Lagrange [Mecha series, though the trailer really feels like it wouldn't work on Toonami]
It would but only in an early slot, it's way light hearted.
plus lesbian implications
It's never ever because Aniplex is sitting on the license with no plans to release it, let alone dub it. Probably in part because it bombed so badly in Japan since anime fans in Japan have shit taste.
According to this, DBZ: Kai was the #1 [as] show for the entire night. Yes, it beat Family Guy in the target demo.
Also, it and Kill la Kill were in the top 15 cable programs of the night.
There is one possible silver lining though. Madman Entertainment (who has the rights in Australia) said the other day that they're currently "waiting on a dub" for Samurai Flamenco.
So...maybe there is hope?
I can't tell if you're being a dick or trying to play along. My point is, it's not the subject matter they want to censor, it's the bare ass. America don't give two shits about rape, son. Just sweet, milky white, supple teen ass.
I was never a doom sayer about One Piece's ratings, but I'll say this either means One Piece does better later or Gurren Lagann is a turnoff for viewers. Or people usually leave after Inuyasha and other people come in around 2:30. What time does Saturday Night Live end, anyway?
that'd be fun
HELL NO FUCK THAT
>KLK slips out of that comfortable "Anime that the average person will watch and like and think is so out there and cool" and slap into "Anime you would be embarassed to show others people because they would stare at you like you were a complete fucking freak".
You know, that's exactly what I would have said about FLCL, but that did pretty damn well.
Have you seen the cast? One guess as to who the MC is.
I'll say this either means One Piece does better later
