So has /co/ stopped creaming its pants over the SU season finale?
Peridot had the swooshy eyes when she was piloting the ship as well, they turned normal when she took her hands off the controls.
It does seem like she might've gotten some new information or something from interfacing with the ship.
She, uhh, really seemed to enjoy interfacing.
The episodes were jumbled around for Steven Bomb.
Jailbreak is the season finale, the next 3 episodes are filler that was supposed to go in the middle-end of season one but is now being tacked on at the end instead.
I noticed in the threads there were a lot of anons who were very homophobic to the idea that Ruby and Sapphire were in love with anons either saying that Ruby was a boy or they were just really good friends.imho I believe they should all just fuck off back to tumblr twhere they can be true homophobes there.
But OP, can't you see that
>our relationship is stable
I am still hyped over it. I thought they were going to forget about fusion after Stevonnie but they actually used the important plot fu as part of the climax and that makes me super proud of the writers. Plus that whole thing with giant lovecraftian Malachite was just awesome, it's nice to see a villain get their just desserts in this show for a change. Reminded me of Turbo's fate from WIR. Too bad the worst villain, Ronaldo, is still out there
Steven Universe and Gravity Falls are on a roll.
I wish Adventure Time could deal with arcs in a cool way like these shows does. I still love AT, and I understand that these shows aren't the same when it comes to plot-writing and character development, but when an episode from both SU or GF want to do an huge blow to the status quo or some new unexpected stuff added to the mix, it feels very fresh and intriguing compared to what is happening in AT.
I'm just talking about how they deal with story arcs, not necessarely saying one is better/the other one is worse.
I can't believe it took me 30-something plays to properly hear the chorus lyrics
It's not "I am me" "and I'm stronger than you"
It's "I am made oh-oh-oh-oh-of lo-oh-oh-oh-ve, and it's stronger than you"
>Transformers are mainly male robot-race
>Gems are mainly female mineral-race
>Transformers can combine into larger robots with distinct personalities
>Gems can fuse into larger gems with distinct personalities
>Transformers: Animated involved Season 1mainly faffing about until the Deceptions arrived during the season finale
>Steven Universe involved Season 1 mainly faffing about until the Gemworld Gems arrived during the season finale
I dunno what it means but I'm excited.
>Implying Disney doesn't do this shit with shows other than Gravity Falls
>Being this clearly butthurt over your fake dumb little console wars shit
Sounds like someone mad cuz they single
If you're referring to the production order, it's actually kept its continuity regardless of it "out of order" episodes. Example, Watermelon Steven was supposed to come before island adventure according to the list, but all episodes post island adventure, Sadie has a scar on her face, including Watermelon Steven. And I could think of a few gravity falls episode I could shuffle without hurting anyone's understanding of the series. Both shows stop to have fun from time to time, but both shows also have pretty strong running arcs and build on events that have happened, even if you don't necessarily expect it to have mattered at the time.
falling for bait AND shitposting?
You're fuckin' up today, Tyrone.
Probably coincidence, SU seems more built around Sailor Moon
Ninjago is actually not too bad, but whenever I watch it I can't help but notice how many stupid cars and gadgets the characters use for no reason other than to sell toys
Was Transformers this blatant back in the day?
>mfw people still try to compare SU and GF
GF is great because of how funny it is and how it's full of MYSTERY hype that pays off. But ultimately the way it deals with personalities and relationships is way more sitcommy compared to the slower paced, more down-to-earth SU. They're completely different, the only thing they share in common is that they're both fantastic.
We should be sharing and caring, and scaring and tearing.
Have you all come to terms with the fact that Garnet is so much betta than every other gem?
It was pretty slow to start. Laser Light Cannon convinced me to keep watching, but nothing really matched it until Lapis showed up.
After Lapis showed up things really started building and getting revealed, and Steven Bomb was just crazy.
Seriously! I still need to watch the season finale of GF, but MAN Jailbreak was awesome!
I really hope we learn more about the lore. It's getting so rich. Like I can't wait to hear more about the gem wars, and the kindergarden, how Garnet's two gems met, about the home world....
Or heck, based off of what Greg said, I hope we hear more about the human perspective of the gem wars too.
Steven/Onion will be the best, He'll probably just be Cody in Street Fighter format including a broken bottle or a knife as a weapon, and a subconsciously made ball and chain around his ankle since Steven is worried about hurting people.
Other shows seem willing to add stuff and grow. We learn stuff that does change the shows in part even if a general point is returned to.
AT throws something out but then drags it back till it's not relevant again, then rubs it in your face they fucked it up
Shut the fuck up and talk about the show. You can respond and then still talk about the show and it's not shitposting. Like I'm doing right now, you colossal retard
We already knew, anon, we already knew.
Steven/Onion would be a horrifying nightmare. Steven's personality would get completely overpowered and Onion would just destroy fucking everything.
Hmm...I wonder if it'd be possible for Steven to fuse with more than one person at a time? Like, maybe he could end up fusing with all of Beach City?
HE'S GOT A GUN, AIM AND FIRE, AIM AND FIRE
Man, I kinda feel bad for Star Vs the Forces of Evil. It would've been right at home five years ago, but now other shows are blowing it out of the fucking water before it even stepped onto the beach.
Seriously, they're going to have to do the impossible and break the unbreakable to salvage it.
>you will never see jasper force sapphire to fuse with her if front of ruby
I loved how much personality they were able to inject into Ruby and Sapphire with the tiny amount of screen times and lines they had.
>Did they hurt you?
>No, no, I'm fine. Did they hurt you?
I really do hope he has some weighted restraints that's Steven's personality's contribution and when shit gets really bad they unlock and Steven lets Onion out to wreck everyone's shit.
It was a little overrated.
>Introduce mustache twirling villain like Rebecca said she wouldn't.
>Complete with fake raspy voice and a love of beating things up like a playground bully
>Pearl and Amy doing basically nothing the whole episode
>Garnet suddenly becoming stronger than her because she sang a song
Fuck, just every line from Jasper was cringe inducing. "Fusion is just a trick to make weak gems strong, why would you do that", jee I wonder.
I can watch Steven Universe outside of order, right? I have seen two or three episodes and decided to spam some random On Demand episodes. I am watching the onr where the kids fuse
Anyone kind of jealous of Garnet's existence?
Like, Ruby and Sapphire each fused with their soulmate on a cellular level. Humans can only do boring old coitus.
>You will never become one with your lover, down to sharing thoughts and hopes and secrets inside of one mind
Feels terribad mang
>Garnet suddenly becoming stronger than her because she sang a song
To be fair Jasper won the first time because she used that anti-gem stick.
But then she talked shit about being stronger and Garnet broke the stick and they had to fight one-on-two for real.
>You will never become one with your lover, down to sharing thoughts and hopes and secrets inside of one mind
I wouldn't have to worry about that anyway
Right, we got a good image of their personalities from their interactions with Steven and each other, despite them being incredible short interactions.
Garnet didn't fight Jasper until the song started, she got sucker-punched with the destabilizer.
Unless you're a permafusion and both your gems break at the same time.
I too support this comparison.
Garnet; Ultra Magnus, especially now that we know both characters are really a cover for something smaller.
Amethyst; Brawn (stupid, short, aggressive, and mad strong)
Pearl; Good looking, but...kind of a prick.
Steven; Rodimus OR Bumblebee
Shit, I should go and watch it. It seems like a nice, chill show that you can watch and just kind of feel good for a bit.
I haven't seen many of the episodes, but I liked the general feel of the show a lot.
No, fucking imagine Jasper punching Saphire in the gut and holding ruby off with just her foot, stepping on her and making her watch as she molests her soulmate with her tongue, and then uses her helmet as a death dildo
Really, we knew Jasper was going to become a prisoner of a fusion at the bottom of the ocean with Lapis? We knew Peridot was going to end up stuck on earth? That's what bugged me about GF' s big event, they revealed Stan' s brother but stopped there. If you've been paying attention, you already knew about him. Steven played out differently than most people theories, even with leaked episode descriptions and introduced a few major plot points still.
But when you're fused you basically feel like a single person. We saw in the Stevonnie episode that s/he felt lonely even though they were fused, and the Connie half was wishing she could talk to the Steven half.
Then again, maybe it's just because they're inexperienced and so weren't as in sync with each other or something.
No not yet. I'm still hype about Garnet.
>TFW Amy might be the worst crystal gem
Still muh favorite though.
I don't know, I finally watched that Gravity Falls episode and it was boring as fuck. I literally called like, half the lines in the show it was that predictable. Which was REALLY disappointing considering the episode before it was great. In all honesty, it didn't even come close to the masterpiece season finale Steven Universe got.
I wouldn't say that though, because her and Steven were able to communicate with each other.
It's a really interesting thing to think about. What would that feel like to be fused together with someone? Like not really having a line where one person starts and the other stops, but still kind of having separate consciousnesses? I don't think that Garnet ever feels 100% alone because she's kind of two people and their connection runs so deep.
So maybe it does just boil down to the fact that Connie and Steven are inexperienced in fusing.
I think the look thing is subjective because, again, they're doing pretty different things. Their art styles are definitely very appropriate to their respective setting and atmosphere (warm but mysterious forest vs twinkling beach with very dramatic color palettes during specific moods and seasons).
Or, Steven is Sari.
>Sari: Half Transformer/Half Human
>Steven: Half Gem/Half Human
>both have well meaning but absent-minded fathers
>both are instigators for a lot of the shit that ends up happening
Jasper was your basic PROUD WARRIOR but I think that's fine because I think it's meant to highlight the way Homeworld shoehorns people into very specific roles (when Rose talks about how much she loves Earth she talks about how there's so much variety and unpredictability that could happen in each individual's life).
In a lot of other series this might come across as a bland sentiment but in a show like SU where we actually do dedicate a lot of time delving into individuals' private lives, and not just that of the main cast, it rings a lot more true.
So, is Greg immortal, right?
That was her problem with Garnet at least. The whole reason she took them on her ship was because of her vendetta with Rose, she was going to show Yellow Diamond. That's why they didn't just stay, reactivate the kindergarten, and continue to destroy the gems from their ship.
the look is different correct, but there is an obvious difference in visual stimulation going on, GF looks better while SU uses color to tell story/set mood way better. Thats what i meant, not that one is better then the other.
Jasper did talk a lot how much she respected and hated rose. So I'm guessing its something like that. She also got really mad at Steven thinking it was Rose.
Jasper did show a lot of hate and rage towards the gems, it was a bit archetypical for super strong villain, but I feel it was pulled off well.
I think the simpler explanation is Rose did some kind of mindmeld with Greg to share her memories, like how Garnet was able to bestow future vision on Steven with a kiss to the forehead.
fusing is fine, i even liked the dancing, and i completely understand the two loving eachother, it just felt like they mean romantic while a twin dynamic or sisterly makes more sense.
I can't wait for the possible episode where Steven and Peedee fuse. It'll be awkward but cute, considering Peedee is uncomfortable about Steven's magic powers. And their combined personality, oh man! He'd take being a crystal gem WAY too seriously, but also keep some of Steven's quirkiness But no matter how great or how poorly the fusion turns out, I'm gonna love it. I wonder what kind of dancing they'd do...
Why would a twin dynamic or a sister dynamic work better than the one that was proposed though?
Like I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be close to my sibling like that. A romantic partner, yeah, but not a sibling.
Yeah, technically this whole thing is one season, although the Crew separated the season into Season 1A and Season 1B (with 1A ending with the Mirror Gem episodes), because they were aware of the possibility of SU getting canceled early so they gave it a nice conclusive feel.
So it really feels like two seasons in one.
Steven Universe does the thing where seasons are 26 episodes long (52 shorts), but they do a climax in episode 13. A lot of people mistook Ocean Gem as the end of season 1 because of it.
>Garnet goes straight G-Unit on the enemy
>Steven has a clutch performance getting everyone out of the jail
>Pearl fails to land the ship
>Amethyst loses Peridot
Them last two need to step their game up.
Well not really. Middle of season one plays out like a finale because it was originally supposed to be a 26 episode season. They doubled the season length to 52
(The Steven Bomb moved some episodes around so now it's finale is awkwardly episode 49 with a recap episode as 50 and 2 moved ahead filler episodes at the end)
I don't think that it will though. I think it'll delve more into the lore, because that's what it's been doing the past few episodes. Which is something that I whole heartedly support.
aromanticnoodle asked: are you allowed to tell us if Sapphire and Ruby's love is romantic or more platonic?
Not even talking down to everyone, just straightforward no-brakes drive off a fucking cliff.
>Greg says something as suspicious as "It's not like I was there or anything" and everyone takes that at face value
I dunno, felt korrasami in nature, not that its bad, but like its becoming a trend. Imply les relationships during finales. Super close Twin bonds are pretty common in cartoons though, i don't know what your'e talking about, that makes a lot more sense. Wasnt bad it was just weird watching two little kids go lesbo gem sexy on each other, so w/e.
CRAZY THEORY TIME: We know that on the US dollars of this world there's a diamond where the eye-in-the-pyramid should be. What if the reason that the Crystal Gems and their conflict with the homeworld Gems hasn't seemed to impact human history that much is because they've been systematically covered up by an actual Illuminati of human gem worshippers.
>mfw "greg is immortal" is more common than "the war happened recently".
and twins have bonds that make them practically the same person, mabey not completely in this scenario, but what says they can't be twins? Actually, /co/ is only saying its romantic because that's whats hot, when there is no proof stating that they aren't just twins or sisters.
Why is that considered a good thing? Would driving snakes out of an ecosystem just cause the vermin population to skyrocket? Or is it all based on that snakes = The Devil bollocks?
Yup. I'd try to tell you which ones you could skip if you want, but it's a really small list as a lot of little stuff keeps coming back up as the low slowly build up. Also some of the least important episodes are some of the most fun, like Steven and the Stevens.
>Actually, /co/ is only saying its romantic because that's whats hot, when there is no proof stating that they aren't just twins or sisters.
If they're twins or sisters, it's incest.
So how long until someone makes a mega edit of SU that's just all the ongoing plot/lore/continuity shit with none of the filler?
>and twins have bonds that make them practically the same person
Unless they're incestuous then they're not literally inside each other. They also tend to have deeper relationships with other people, you know, like the ones they fall in love with?
>but what says they can't be twins?
You have to be intentionally missing all the romantic cues on purpose to even consider this conclusion. The messy face kissing, "Mad cuz you're single", Garnet is literally made out of love, not just any love, but full blown lo-o-o-o-ove.
I lost my sides so hard when she dropped that verse
interstellar sides confirmed
>Rose had an army
>Rose could only save a few of her closest friends at the end of the final battle
>The damaged gems Steven helped collect all through season 1 are Rose's army
>Once he gets his healing confidence back he can resurrect Rose's army
Season 2 finale guaranteed
Well it's no longer 100 posts per minute in a 3,000+ post sticky, but it looks like there's still considerable chatter.
I wonder if Pearl downloaded anything new from the ship that'll make this new gem tech less scary and new.
That's what I'm saying. It's more than just a "we're together all the time", it's an incredibly intimate experience that would be weird with a sibling.
Like not incestual, but it's just too intimate to be a sibling relationship.
Same with some of the lines in the song. It just seemed to imply a closer bond than anything a lot of people can comprehend, that goes beyond romantic or family. Like can you imagine how close two people would have to be to want to be the same person? That transcends all physical things.
No. I'm still wondering who is my favorite gem after all of this.
I guess fuck twins and every relationship that twins have ever had ever then, cuz your a twin right? They cant just BE close twins that fuse cuz thats NOT an 'ok' idea... sheesh /co/ you get such a hard on for lesbians you don't even care about quality control.
Plus now the remains of the ship are scattered all around the temple, I'm sure she can appropriate some of that tech.
Also, based on the line "some lost defective Pearl" and her general proclivities I'm starting to think Pearls were mass-produced tech/science officers for the Gem Homeworld that later got replaced with Peridots.
nigga I could draw their eyes with babby algebra.
nah I'm kidding it's okay to love any cartoon. Only spiteful autists legitimately "hate" cartoons.
I only watched about 9 episodes, I think I liked what I saw but I didn't end up keeping up with it after a hiatus or something. You're motivating me to catch up with y'all on the updates
I liked Jasper as a series finale villain - her powerlevel was pretty serious but her own arrogance and cruelty was her undoing. Leave the "super complicated" villains for later seasons, otherwise you have no intrigue left in the story. You forget we still haven't met a single Diamond.
>that horrifying moment when I saw Jasper's outline and thought Peridot brought a Diamond with her from Homeworld
>that bit where Garnet was kill
>Jesus christ how horrifying.jpg
They're all supposed to be full-grown people. The only way Ruby could look the way she does while being male is by being an exceptionally fetishized shota.
I mean, not sure if you noticed, but she does have booty.
Pearl does have quite a knack for engineering.
She built a rocket ship out of a shed full of spare parts and junk, I can only image the crystal gem flagship she could make out of more advanced scrap.
Though I see Peridot stealing it if she does.
>mfw one of the people who works on Steven Universe says it's romantic
>mfw the song pretty much confirms that they're in a romantic relationship
>mfw I am made of love
>mfw Can't you see my relationship is stable?
>mfw sloppy face kiss, kissing the tears away
It literally could not be more gay if they said "I'm gay"
good question, considering that steven and connie have had time and episodes to flesh out a relationship i wasnt surprised by them fusing [though i would have preferred him with a gem] BUT it was weird that they became a multi gender boner magnet for the whole town. Given that you probably think i hate fags or some crazy shit, lemme just refer you to this comment.
Honestly, i just think relationships shouldnt be everywhere in cartoons, and gay ones are just ones with a big sign saying 'LOOK AT ME IM DIFFERENT' with how cartoons have been approaching it.
>None of the monster gems were evil, just angry and in pain from being de-rezzed
>Garnet and co. aren't experienced or smart enough to mentally stabilize them
>They are basically locking them up in a gem-bubble lunatic asylum
So... the temple is Arkham?
>Honestly, i just think relationships shouldnt be everywhere in cartoons
But. They're everywhere in life.
goddamn, best thing CN made in years.
oh god Garnet's parts.
I hope to see crystal gems upgraded next season, Steve included.
OH GOD LET THEM BE UPGRADED NEXT SEASON, WE NEED NEW VISUALS AND POWER UPS.
It is possible, because, looking at Stevonnie, you do get a pretty adrogynous looking chick when a male and female fuse. But she's most likely female, unless that was the show's subtle foreshadowing to male gems.
Ignoring the fact that they're ageless, they're just short and weak. Lapis Lazuli for example isn't that much taller than them, she's just proportioned differently because she's not muscle-bound like Ruby or wearing a puffy dress like Sapphire.
My guess is that Ruby and Sapphire are weak gems that were looked down upon on Homeworld.
Maybe Homeworld wanted to do some "ethnic cleansing" of weak gems and that's why they escaped to Earth?
this. /co/ is so fucking thick sometimes.
like what else do we need, garnet sitting down and explaining homosexuality to steven when homosexuality is an alien concept to her in the first place?
Do we really need somebody to say "Ruby is a girl" when ruby straight up has a mumbley girl voice?
Overcooked, literally to mean she was born late. That would be why Amy missed the Roselution. And of course she's short. There doesn't technically have to be any additional meaning, other than that bit that is obvious, which is not to imply that it would be impossible for there to be some more meaningful implications.
>Bu-bu-but because it's a relationship it's bad and kids shouldn't be exposed to it!
I seriously don't see why having relationships in a children's show, as long as they're appropriate and loving (or if not, then a clear example of a not loving one and why it's not loving) is a bad thing. TV is a way kids interact with the world. Why not have those kinds of lessons on TV?
It's a good spring board for parents to have a conversation with their kids. Not only that, but I don't really think kids give a fuck.
>when i watched the episode i saw a good twin dynamic
So you didn't listen to the lyrics at all?
I mean, damn dude.
Garnet literally says "you're mad cuz you're single".
That is not something people say about having a twin. That's something you preface a "Hey I'm John and this is my bitch, shit was so cash" copy-pasta.
nah, was just wondering where you saw this "lesbo gem sexy" and why it was weird to you. because really, there was basically no difference between how the garnet fusion and the stevonnie fusion played out.
I kind of saw it as a weird metaphor for those kids who grow up or "develop" really fast and don't know what to do with themselves or the reputation other people force on them
Like they got positive attention in the donut shop for being super pretty but then the negative attention in the dance floor. There's two sides to it.
I once knew a really sweet girl in elementary school who developed super fast, got huge tits and hourglass figure by middle school, everyone called her a slut and a whore even though she had never had a boyfriend. People are fucked up. I think the Stevonnie thing shows that more than anything else.
>it's more likely that gems which can't even be born as twins are actually super close twins that smooch eachother and sing about being in love
>it's even confirmed to be romantic love
>le NO U meme
I'm loving the scattered theories
They HAVE dropped a lot of gem power subplot stuff lately and not gone back to it. Super strength, the fact that there is a fucking DIAMOND ON THE MONEY, shit like that.
Not to mention the million weapons we've seen. If the giant axe has a gem in it, does that mean it's alive like the mirror? Are all gem items bonded to a trapped gem spirit? When the fuck is Centipeedle going to come back and humanize itself? You can't just leave us hanging Sugar, god damn you
One thing I really like though is that little continuity things do come back, like the sword, Lion showing up when he's needed, Mayor Dewey being a conspiratorial ass. They do seem to tie it together bit by bit. Have more faith anon.
literally don't care if SU has a gay agenda or not
I think ruby and sapphire are cute and garnet is a badass
if you get so ass blasted over two neon colored aliens kissing on an animated tv show for children then you really need to reevaluate your life
man I didn't know ruby and sapphire could form together as a cluster naturally
oh wait they fucking can't
>looking nothing alike
>being two separate races
This is my identical twin Shaquira.
We're in love.
What? I'm not an asian male what are you going on about we're twins.
>shakira cracks her knuckles menacingly at the interrogator
That's Blue Diamond in the mural with Rose
White Diamond and Yellow Diamond are on the other parts of it
Audible kissing. Step up your game Nick.
Except you haven't done a very good job of explaining why you think it's better. Is having twins being close a common trope? Yeah, but I don't see how that inherently makes it better. Having two examples of a show that occur close together of a relationship being revealed at a show finale doesn't make it a trope or something that's becoming more common (since the only example that you gave was Korrasami), especially since there were only two examples that were listed (i.e. SU an Korrasami).
And not only that but people like >>70240536 were denying the HEAVILY coded romantic implications. So yes, the point is still relevant.
>anyone think they should lay off the fusion crap for a while
>6/52 of the episodes have fusion in it
>one was comedy, one was slice of life, and one was a cameo
Unknown, maybe that is what was causing Sadie to lose all sense.
They're not just angry and in pain, they're cracked. Like Lazuli was before Steven healed her.
Remember the episode where Amy's gem cracked? She was close to turning into a monster and being fought/bubbled.
>Introduce mustache twirling villain like Rebecca said she wouldn't.
I doubt most people have even read the interview where she actually said that. It was right around the time when the show first premiered and the interviewer asked if the show had a recurring villain character who they fight regularly like the Ice King.
Honestly anon, it just seems like you misintepreted something other people got, and took offense to some perceived message and are now trying to shield yourself from arguments by taking a moral high road (in your case it's the "you only see lesbians because fetish!"). That sounds very familiar, doesn't it?
See pic related. It's what you get when you reduce the color lightness and boost saturation of that scene.
She's probably impressed at how much there was to read, like a human bookworm walking into the Library of Congress.
Peridot accidentally crash-lands her ship and has Steven promise to act like it didn't happen while she fixes it to go back into space for a do-over because she's so embarrassed.
Yeah, I've been seeing pink diamond too. I figure people see white because of a "Gold/white or blue/black?" situation where the context of the background makes the color look different to them.
If you boost the saturation of white, you're going to get a color. If it's really close to white then it's virtually random. If you look at color values of the triangle, they are virtually pure white with the left edge having some red and the top and right edges having some green and a tiny bit of blue.
Not generally, no.
They are anatomically correct, they just have no biological reproductive capabilities
Well, no. She had a child, but she shed her physical form in order for him to come into existence. There was no birth involved.
Assuming Stephen required the gem to maintain his body like any other gem she'd have to give up her claim on it and therefore her manifestation for him to come into existence.
>within a bigger diamond
Queen Dresden confirmed.
yeah I know, I was referring to the theory surround faction members we've seen on screen
Quartz =/= diamond
I'm holding onto my theory that the pyramid in Serious Steven was some kind of mausoleum, and that Rose managed to trap White Diamond's gem in there, thus 'erasing' the White Diamond faction.
Peridot and Jasper report to Yellow Diamond.
Lapis is probably part of a Blue Diamond faction, considering her rather anti-militaristic outfit and colour.
So Amethyst loves Steven because like her, he's an 'Earth gem'. Garnet loves him so much because like her, he's the amalgamation of two people who loved each other, and she holds no grudges against either him or Greg because following your heart is extremely important to her. On the other hand, Pearl seems to think of Steven largely as a replacement for Rose, pining openly about how much she wishes she were there.
My question is, why is Pearl so shit?
remember garnets response to steven and connie fusing?
you are not two people
you are not one person
you are an experience
to be honest I kept waiting for here to referrer to herself as an experience in her "we're stronger than you" song
I don't think you could actually do this in a way that would really work that well, because so much of the show is all the little moments piling up. There's really only a couple of episodes that don't have *something* that fleshes out the characters or world a little more.
>This is the Steven Crewniverse OTP
My waifu is two waifus in one!
I remember that happened, but not exactly what it looks like.
Also, if that matters then I'm pretty sure so does Pearl's face on the coins, though not representative of just her if she's a type of mass produced warrior.
Unless they shape-shift them, probably.
If they visited a planet with something like the home planets of one the aliens from Animorphs, would they tend to take on forms resembling the local dominant species? Do they see it as a bit of a novelty that we look kinda like them, or are there more aliens out there that tend to resemble humans? Are they from future Earth and failing to realize they can't destroy us because it would cause a paradox?
Ultra bad end hypothetical:
Which one would tell Steven "Arrividerci" before they all die horribly, Steven loses his gem and Earth morphs into regular Earth as if there were no gems in the first place?
>Hating on Pearl who pines for her dearest friend that she misses bitterly
>After she has been raising her son with care and has shown on many occasions she does love him
Fuck off. Stop hating on pearl because she has feelings.
that doesn't really make sense
Rose even holds a pink diamond in that image.
How much must it have killed Rose to have so many of her friends defect to fight at her side?
How do you think Peridot is doing in Canada?
So when are Vegeta and Nappa coming?
i'm gonna berry my dick so far in pearls ass whoever can pull it out will be crowned king arthur
Is anyone else worried about connie moving away or no longer being able to be with steven due to his voicemail? What are your thoughts /co/? or just her not liking him in the way he likes her?
According to your image yes it does. Yellow is already green plus red, the complimentary opposite of blue. If it was yellow and cyan diamond, that'd be different. Maybe Blue and Yellow combine to make a secondary White Diamond, and those combine with the other White Diamond to make Super White Diamond or something.
We shouldn't discard that Gem Wars I happened in the current era, and that the whole SU plot takes place in a post-apocalyptic time.
So Greg might not be a caveman, but a modern man living in the future.
google "raw uncut diamond"
they are basically misshapen rocks
they don't turn into "diamond shape" until after they've been cut but a jeweler.
But they can be cut into pretty much any shape
nah your theory is shit bro
Post-apocalypses don't have to be all that bad.
"I'm entirely sure Rose feels the same way about me. And incidentally, I'll cut you if you make this pile of arbitrary junk asymmetrical again. Don't you understand what symmetry is?" - Pearl
There's even a pink triangle in Rose's emblem.
So I've been thinking about Pearl, and how Jasper said she was "a defective pearl". It makes sense that the Pearl type of gem's primary role is that of a scribe. Pearl has shown enthusiasm for history, technology, and being a teacher. Plus she excels at holographic projection and was able to interface with Peridot's ship.
Which makes it look like Rose confiding so much with her was not a deep personal connection like Pearl made it out to be, but simply Rose using her for her primary purpose. Pearl being "defective" could allude to how goddamn clingy she gets.
Technically YKK is para-apocalyptic, not post apocalyptic.
Also, mother nature is literally recreating human civilization beneath the waves so its only a matter of time before a race of sapient fishpeople takes over for humanity and the gynoids both of which seem pretty chill about the loss of land, likely due to declining birthrates.
Rose's/Steven's gem has five facets, actually.
I always took the defective comment more in reference to the shape of her actual Pearl, which is oval shaped as opposed to perfectly spherical. It could be that in gem society the quality of the gem itself could dictate where in society you fit in. Amethyst was mass-produced, Garnet is a fusion of two weaker gems and Pearl is probably considered more valuable among gem society, but since she's an imperfect shape, she probably got handed a lesser role. Lapis and Rose both commanded elements of the natural world, which is probably a benefit of being such high-quality gems.
Is it significant that the tiny floating whale in 'Rose's Room' is voiced by the same actress as Rose?
Holy shit, that was fast! Has anyone made any alternative Ruby & Sapphire game boy advance box art with SU's R & S?
What I'm saying was that it was one-sided affection. Rose probably saw Pearl in a completely platonic way but Pearl thought of her as more. Her reactions were more overblown than Amethyst's.
I think Rose might have been at the the authority level just below Red Diamond, answering to her only. So if something happened to Red Diamond that got her replaced, she could have lost her authority in the restructuring that followed without immediate reassignment to a new leader. Left on Earth without orders or a mission, she wandered around messing with plants and stuff. By the time work started again she had decided life on Earth was worth protecting.
>He doesn't know classic shoujo manga
That's for yaoi stuff anon, this is yuri. Learn the difference, it might save your life one day.
If you ever got stuck in the wilderness with rabid fans of either.
Or an anime con, same thing.
I can agree with this.
In Junior High my older sister had the same thing happen to her. Sure, you like the compliments and shit people give you in class but then older, adult men try flirting with you when your 14 and thats when you get into creepy/uncomfrable territory. I think that KotH episode with Joseph hitting puberty also brought that point on well [/spoile]
>Greg knows about lion. knows about Rose's secrets.
>Pearl is left in the dark think she is the true confidant.
>Garnet knows secrets due to future vision and greg told amy.
>Pearl left in the dark.
This I want
>mfw 'Let's go just me and you. Let's go just one on two.'
her shoulder pads are a different shape, her star on her chest has pink in it now, the colours on her pants split down the middle now instead of asymmetrically, her shoes are a different colour and I think her hair is smaller
>mfw there are still people out there thinking SU is just an Adventure Time clone.
This episode alone had more payoff than 90% of AT's "arcs". It build off slowly, gave you enough information at a decent pace and let you get to know the characters before throwing you off into a crazy ride and unlike AT things will continue to develop even if regressing to filler unlike the former.
well we still have one episode in 4 hours.
I think the war was more recent.
Rose was the leader of the Gems on Earth. She cut Earth off from Homeworld. A few thousand years of Gems and Humans together. Homeworld finally shows up due to lack of FTL. Rose, her gems, and humans battle against Homeworld gems.
Well i took from the video Rose left Steven, in that she says "only one of us can exist at a time" and "when you feel good thats me inside being a part of you"(paraphrasing), Rose is still inside her gem, and she may be able to use her powers in the room to build stuff and talk to him. Idk, wishful thinking mnost likely.
>Angie Wang works on Steven Universe
Shit son Steven in a flower mech when?
I'll admit I was one of those people who thought Steven Universe was mediocre at first. I've decided to watch recent episodes before the Bombweek thing and it actually has a pretty good story going on now.
It was like KND: in the beginning it was all over the place and not THAT greet, but then it started making a story and setting.
I'm waiting for the Steven/Onion fusion so I can see the world burn when Onion personality overwrites Steven's and he uses his powers for total world domination.
is steven a permanent fusion? Maybe Steven isn't actually her child. Greg's yes, but not hers. They refer to him as half human and half gem, what's to say he wasn't full human at one point?
I think it's just Ruby's fighting abilities being able to manifest since she's now more powerful. Sapphire's only power that we've seen is future vision. So Garnet has Ruby's fists and then a visor from Sapphire.
>Lapis:Advanced technology we couldnt understand
Peridot brings a hand shaped spaceship(lolwut) that shoots energy beams from its fingers I mean thats not even Independence Day tier in alien technology.Their only method of subduing gems is to use a handheld destabilizer when a long range destabilizer that could be fired would be more intelligent to use.Its also surprising Peri doesnt didnt have personal forcefields around her. Gem technology is a joke.
He's a human kid who has his mother's gem
Rose did go through PREGNANCY, meaning that Steven did develop in Rose, until it was time to concieve him and thus Rose must give up her physical form as they cannot exist separately
