>Uncle Grandpa Marathon
>marathon of superior show
>mfw i want this special canon
>SU fags salty
>Implying uncle grandpa isn't the worse piece of shit that ever existed.
I beat if someone read you shakespear you would say "worst video game ever" and burn the last copy.
>Pearl: Steven, what's going on? Who is this stranger?
Pearl sounded too fake, like she completely knew who he was.
Anyway, I'm really hyped for this! I love UG and enjoyed Steven Universe (I didn't watch too many episodes of SU but I liked what I saw).
Steven Universe thread, right?
So I marathoned the series, and the second half of season 1 seemed much more wobbly quality-wise. It wasn't as varied in story skeletons (I blame the lesser need to introduce new concepts to the audience), it had pretty poor scheduling at times (I know there were two clear instances of three of the same sort of episode following in a row that irked me) and the continuity became a lot less incidental and interesting and more...reference heavy ("Hey, remember THAT episode?").
I hadn't even noticed things like how often the characters cry in the first half, but the second half's bumps made the show's crutches a lot more obvious. Hope the second season makes things a touch less predictable again. I'd go so far as to say pulling focus back on some "monster of the week" episodes would, ironically, shake things up a bit.
nothing about Uncle Grandpa's show seemed to really grab my attention but the more I think of this crossover, the more I think I like UG more as a Tom Bombadil or a Mxyzptlk type character
yea but I guess I mean he works better if he was that in other shows than doing it all the time in his show. Just this isolated event of madness that comes and leaves as to never overstay his welcome
>the episode is canon but it takes place inside Rose Quartz's room, also Uncle Grandpa is a cartoon in the SU universe
Calling it now
It's funny how edgelords on /co/ used to always be about pushing plot and continuity and grimdark adult themes, but now because that stuff is in big mainstream productions like Steven Universe edgelords are all about denouncing the advancement of plot and continuity and adult themes.
how can one gardoon be so bad bros? where did it go wrong?
>they update the intro
>newer characters like lapis, peridot and jasper are featured in it
>uncle grandpa is in it too
>everyone thinks it's just for the crossover episode
>it's for the entirety of season 2
You don't really think that UG is good, do you?
That thing is the shittiest cartoon right now.
also nice repeating digits
Looks like we're doing this
Just curious, what do you actually LIKE about it? Like really enjoy? I can tell you like seeing SU fans annoyed because they put a general on every front page and that irritates you, but what about UG attracts you?
I can't wait for this!
We will have like 10 SU threads at the same time.
It has been ages since I saw quads
>implying you need a continuation story for a cartoon series to be good
its just a fun show and its bizarre humor makes it even better
>implying they said continuity and plot are the only things that make a good cartoon
>SU fags believe this
SU threads spread lores and memes around like children and believe story is what make a cartoon
i.e. this post
Why not check it out for yourself, dingus?
We're not talking about SU threads, we're talking about that particular person. I think you're the one judging cartoons by a limited criteria if you read something like "doesn't feel like a good cartoon" as WHERE DA LORE AT
I bet you're a John K drone too.
>Far more than Uncle Grandpa, actually
>they both have the same amount of viewer count
please be joking
Shit, man. It's a popular cartoon, so it gets a lot of attention here. What's wrong with that on a cartoon board? I don't go into RWBY generals to complain just cause I happen to not care about the show. I just let them be. It doesn't hurt anyone.
Honestly, I have little idea. What I do know is that I've watched a little, and what I saw involved Uncle Grandpa spinning around while his head was stationary, while farting, a screaming unappealingly drawn mother character, a gross looking chubby kid sweating in a way that looked like he was urinating from his nipples, and then I decided that was enough.
"Fun" is a terrible descriptor for a cartoon. What does it do to better humanity? Does it make the audience think? Is it well put together?
If it doesn't, then it's not a good cartoon regardless of how fun it is. Looney Toons was a fun cartoon, but it was not a good one...certainly not on the level of Steven Universe or Adventure Time.
>"People like Steven Universe? Why do people like things I don't like?!"
The same reason why someone would enjoy Spaghetti and you don't.
Plus ever since the two hour special with Jasper, this show's fanbase grew so big, so don't be surprised when a show with world building and a diverse cast gets a huge ass fanbase. Also
>Canon Lesbian Couple
>tfw I like both Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa
But other than that, I'm pretty hype for this crossover.
>steven is able to watch tv again
>discovers one of his gem powers is the ability to make holograms similar to holopearl
>he makes uncle grandpa real
That's the only way I can explain it. Unless it's a dream sequence.
>the Tom Bombadil of Crystal Gems.
The more I think about this crossover the more okay I am with it.
As someone who used to dislike the show:
I don't think it's worth hating. It's not a horrible show, and the only thing it's guilty of, really, is being aimless in its plots sometimes. Other than that, it's not really a bad show. I can certainly see if someone doesn't like it, but it's no Johnny Test or Teen Titans Go.
SU has a lot of dead weight, but is actually really interesting at points. The finale was great, and they need to keep with that.
I hate UG. It isn't funny, charming, or even remotely entertaining.
UG is a pretty nice concept when you push the hate aside:
>santa claus-like relationship with everyone
>helpful and fun
>helps me clean myself in the shower
>has great friends like gus, tiger, pizza steve
wish i had an uncle grandpa
>"cartoons that focus on plot and worldbuilding are shit, it should be mindless fun"
>/co/ collectively pisses itself over gravity falls
It's fine if that sort of show isn't your cup of tea, but don't try to pigeonhole the entire medium or shit all over people who like lore in their shows.
They did it in the pilot, and in the Belly Bro episode.
They might just have Steven roll with it too, and have him be the one who introduces UG to the gems/audience (since not every SU watcher is going to know about UG.)
