New Preview is up.
I'm a lorefag and I'm hyped. I watched a couple of episodes of UG. His thing is that he goes around helping kids with their problems. Steven has insecurities with his powers, UG is going to help him with them.
It's gonna be awesome.
As someone who has hated Uncle Grandpa ever since I saw the first promo, so much so that I've never even given the show a watch or a chance...
That was awesome, the up next joke single-handedly changed my opinion, it's just too clever!
I sincerily hope this episode is going to contain soem serious canon, so that lorefags cant ignore it.
It's confirmed canon, but it isn't new canon, because it takes place before Jailbreak. So no new development is going to happen.
Technically it means that Steven was able to use his shield in The Return because of Uncle Grandpa.
>Technically it means that Steven was able to use his shield in The Return because of Uncle Grandpa.
They did the crossover thing twice, with The Critic and Family Guy. I can't think of when they did the bump gag, but I remember Family Guy doing it once.
>The advert joke
I smiled. This won't be as bad as people say it will. It's a one off anyway.
>Having this much of a hard on for the dissatisfaction of others
I feel people are more excited for people having the possibility of being butthurt about the episode than people actually being butthurt about the episode. Which is commentary about something or another.
/co/ is far from an internet hate machine it sucks anything and everything off
Even the shittiest pieces of shit get praised, but usually they say it's fun instead of real praise.
Ok, that was great
That's not true mate. At all?
And I absolutely adore how you have a sense of, "my refined taste is so based". Do one.
REEEEEEEEEEEEE FUCKING LOLIS REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Says the stupid ass nigger who made a sticky saying I was using Fairly Oddparents as a trolling scapegoat because you were mad about some beef we had in 2012 or something..
Seriously, why does he even still go around posting? Nobody really liked him even before he was exposed, and now, all he does is attract negative attention to whatever thread he shows up in. Just swallow your pride and take that shit off.
If you mean the "up next" thing, actually it was Family Guy that did it.
the time Quagmire raped marge?
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING FROM THE START
That's why this crossover is going to work; it makes sense for both shows' continuity. Steven needs help, and the gems don't know how to help him. UG is all about helping kids with their problems, AND he's magic (or something). He'll help Steven control his gem powers in a funny way, then we can all move on with our lives.
This episode looks like it may be fucking decent, color me somewhat excited.
Because since it's Uncle Grandpa, it's easy to believe that he can just cross into other shows the same way he can do those 4th wall jokes. Plus his character is mainly about helping kids, so Steven can fit as his kid of the day. As weird as the worlds of Regular Show or Gumball are, I don't think the characters are weird enough to be able to suddenly go to a different world.
Plus expectations would probably be a lot higher if it was a crossover with a show like Adventure Time and Steven Universe.
This is gonna be pretty good.
Also, the people talking about drinking the tears of lorefags are more annoying than the lorefags were. Even if this crossover is garbage you fuckers would love it just because it pissed some other people off.
Hyped for the ep.
I haven't been checking up on these threads except the live streams and this WTF is a lorefag
I feel bad for Matt Burnett having to deal with these shitty fans:
Also, there's this:
the episode is gonna start really funny, then get really feels-y.
i'm guessing that Steven will get fed up with UG and blow up at him for not taking things seriously and get all depressed, but UG will end up actually helping him somehow by being his usual goof-ass self and Steven will learn a lesson about not taking himself super seriously or else he'll get all depressed and end up like Finn
it ends with this whole speech about "maybe you didn't help me learn to use my powers, but you did teach me an important lesson on growing as a person" meanwhile there's a side plot of Pearl wracking her brain trying to figure out just what the hell uncle grampa actually IS while garnet and amethyst just chill with mr gus and pizza steve
THIS IS GONNA BE SO FUCKING AWESOME.
>Oh, hi Pearl. Thanks for cleaning my van...
People who speculate how the world works to the point that it's more important to them than the actual show. They tend to be the ones overtly concerned about the plot of the show.
make sense I guess.
but to be honest, I never thought they would do a full crossover episode.
a few references here and there, maybe characters from the other show as background characters and whatnot.
>ruining Uncle Grandpa and its sexy side-character females with unattractive SU disgusting fatbodies
if wikipedia is to be trusted the rating seem fairly steady with the show's mainline average. Ratings weren't as good for Return/Jailbreak compared to Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem but cramming a full week of new episodes for a once a week show is always going to throw off your numbers
It's actually really funny. In /sug/ they'll go on and on debating whether UG is Greg's relative or Rose's relative. Reading the synopsis of UG on wikipedia would enlighten them on how retarded they are.
>yfw Written and Storyboarded by Joe Johnston, Jeff Liu, and Rebecca Sugar
He couldn't be Rose's relative in the first place if he's not even a gem, not to mention that the whole gems being grown instead of being born of sexual reproduction makes it even harder to say if they have relatives.
You're generous. I wouldn't go below 3/4th.
Am I the only one who's confused about why Peter Browngardt the Uncle Grandpa creator keep his hair like this instead of shaving or buzzing it down?
It is said to see that some men don't accept that they are balding. Though it does remind of what I saw a few days ago. There was this man who was completely bald except he had a long ponytail.
please stay out of further threads and discussions
>People are crying over the idea that this could be canon
Holy shit, how seriously do you babies take this show? I haven't gone through it but I don't think it's exactly new for this show to just go to the side and have fun based off what I've seen. So it's not just that this show apparently cries every episode, it's that the fans want nothing but episodes where everyone just cries? This sounds like the worst fan base since fuckin mlp.
In the first episode of UG we are introduced to the concept of how he's the UG of everybody, and is shown people of all shapes and sizes, and even an alien, a bear named Beary Nice and a fucking hotdog. So it's safe to say he's the gems UG too.
I feel /co/ posters would probably really like Uncle Grandpa if they weren't so hell-bent on being against anything they perceive as 'lol randumb'. The show fucking revels in the fact that it's animation and they can do whatever the hell they want, and it's great for it. It's like Porky in Wackyland as an entire cartoon series.
that "up next" joke was better than anything i've seen from actually watching uncle grandpa
uncle grandpa is mediocre and barely watchable, like johnny test was
like just really shitty and i wish something else was on, but i don't care enough to turn off the TV
The episodes where he's helping out kids are actually pretty good. The rest are just okay.
It feels like the sort of show I would have loved when I was a kid.
Different age target demographic I guess. But I still kinda like it.
I want to see the Gems reacting realistically to UG's powers and being related to everyone.
>Steven Universe Story Writer Matt Burnet confirmed via his twitter that the episode "Say Uncle" is indeed part of the official Steven Universe Canon.
>He also confirmed via twitter that Pizza Steve and Steven are to permanently switch shows after this episode.
Are you honestly still obsessed with that lame-ass one-shot character? Pizza Steve is MUCH hotter.
Only because it was a bunch of new times (it was six or seven before, suddenly it was five every day). Steven Universe brought in a LOT of new viewers marathoning the show because of the post-Jailbreak hype.
I wonder if people would be confused by the outcry on the SU end of this if Uncle Grandpa was having a crossover with, like... Over The Garden Wall instead.
>OtGW Christmas Special with UNCLE GRANDPA~!
I mean, considering the nature of the Unknown, Uncle Grandpa being there would make perfect in-universe sense.
Uncle Grandpa being ANYWHERE makes perfect sense because he is the Judeo-Christian God.
>Steven Universe brought in a LOT of new viewers marathoning the show because of the post-Jailbreak hype.
Have you seen the ratings for the last two episodes? They're still doing lower on average than how they were before Steven Bomb.
>show this to brother
>"that joke doesn't work for people watching it on demand"
i just want him to watch the show already. he's only up to episode 14.
Let's talk about something that's actually important. Does Pearl want to bone Rose or not?
Ok can I just point something out that no one seems to be realizing?
In one of the promos Steven yells "Oh my gosh its uncle grandpa!" as if he already knew who he was. But how would a kid like steven have known about UG?
I'm just saying,
there was a reason he was ungrounded from tv in the last episode.
Are you upset?
>There's more people complaining about SU tears over this episode than there ever was tears over this to begin with
I always find the irony of people becoming the complainers they complain about a sad sight. It's essentially the Arrow to the Knee joke. People cried "too much" on day one after like 2 people did it and now all people do is love it ironically to bug people or complain about how many people do it.
In any case, realistically speaking this episode isn't likely to be canon and we all realize that so just take it for what it is.
From what we saw in Steven and the Stevens it's pretty safe to assume that time is linear in SU.
All the time travel shenanigans took place within the same timeline.
If it didn't then all the other stevens wouldn't have dissolved at the end
I initially thought it was a really weird idea for a crossover since Steven Universe despite all the comedy is somewhat 'grounded' in a few ways (well, as grounded as a show about magical alien gem beings can be) while Uncle Grandpa is pure lighthearted comedy. Still, all the butthurt this is causing the hardcore SU fans is quite detectible.
Why is Peridot the favourite of the Nipponese?
Uncle Grampa isn't THAT bad. it's not GOOD by any stretch, but it's GOD AWFUL or anything. it's just lol so randum wacky kid's show shit with a couple of mature jokes thrown in.
also isn't the Pizza Steve character stolen from Gunshow?
I just finished watching an UG episode, the one where he tries to track down an internet troll. It was fucking hilarious.
>the part where he uploads his video to the internet
>most of the thread is people looking forward to it and people saying they'll drink lorefag tears
>only two or three posts actually whining
Is this some Tumblr thing? I don't really go there
If there's anyd rawfag willing to do it, I'd love an Uncle Grandpa edit of this with "Lorefag tears" in the mug.
Extra points if the straw is UG-levels of crazy or the mug is shaped like the RV.
When I was a kid I was excited for the Grim Adventures of KND. I didn't argue whether Mandy taking over was permanent, I just enjoyed the ride. Why wont you fucks stop arguing about a kids show on television crossing over with another kids show and get hype already?
You guys are the WORST.
>also isn't the Pizza Steve character stolen from Gunshow?
dr mcninja, actually
To put it in simple terms: Trolls trolling trolls.
You can twist the argument all you want to fit that bullshit, but it's irrelevant in the end. Uncle Grandpa is utterly retarded randomness. Its irksome shenanigans and overall stupidity clash pretty bad with Steven Universe's setting.
>He also confirmed via twitter that Pizza Steve and Steven are to permanently switch shows after this episode.
Just imagine all the asspain this would generate
nearly every SU general for the past month or so has had people complaining about the crossover
now that we're actually starting to see some of it, and someone from the show confirming that we'll be able to ignore it if we don't like it (pic related), people have started to settle down
It isn't. It's a shoddily made knockoff of John K's work.
I think he's trying to force a Loss joke out of something that doesn't look like Loss.
>Ben 10 Alien Force/Ultimate Alien
Generator Rex was just a clusterfuck of half backed ideas in my opinion. The character designs were also kind of stupid looking, especially how Rex's transformations looked like Legos.
I suppose the crossover itself sounds like a good idea since the shows were kind of similar. Shame such a well matched crossover had to be wasted on two awful Shows though.
>implying I'm not just using it for a reaction image
