Does anyone still enjoy watching this particular series, despite its campiness and aging like cheese?
OH NO! HE'S GONNA BLAST PRESIDENT LINCOLN!
Yeah. It's honestly one of the better video game based cartoons. Which isn't saying much, but at least the show doesn't try to shove "deep" messages or moral values down the viewers throat and the character designs were at least semi-faithful.
Now I can appreciate is as being so completely ridiculous that it's actually really funny.
RVA if you're reading this I miss you.
Annotated version is great, but I prefer the DK annotations.
this would have been 10,000 times better if MM was in the 1800's through time travel wacky hi jinx.
i remember bursting out the treats when i saw that back when it was new, still gets me today.
>this would have been 10,000 times better if MM was in the 1800's through time travel wacky hi jinx.
No it wouldn't, because that would have made too much sense if the actual Lincoln was being protected.
Scott McNeil is a miracle of the universe.
He actually has some really stellar range and I'm surprised at how many voices he provided for characters in video game cartoons.
In Mega Man he voiced Proto Man, Wily, and Eddie, he voices Ken, Blanka and Rory in Street Fighter, and he voiced Rikuo, Lord Raptor, Anakaris and Bigfoot in Darkstalkers.
>it's not BAD (except for the lion men)
The lion men episode is definitely the most infamous one, but there were others that were just as cringeworthy, in my opinion. Remember the one where the robots "de-evolved" into cavemen, or the one where Wily's plan was basically to create cheap B-movies, and then use them as propaganda material, in order to threaten world leaders or whatever?
I unironically love this series, despite how utterly terrible and stupid it gets at times.
I'm genuinely surprised that no one mentioned the cavebot episode yet.
>First epsiode makes it a point to mention that all the MM1 bosses are Dr Light's robots, and that Wily stole and reprogrammed them
>Not a single attempt is ever made by anyone to get his property back
>Rock wants a "real brother" relationship with Proto Man, gives no fucks about routinely blowing up his other brothers
Cartoon Light is confirmed for worst dad, and Mega Man is worst brother
Glad to see I'm not the only one who calls him that. My gf gave him that nickname when I watched the series with her
>make a ridiculously stupid Mega Man cartoon
>omit the most ridiculously stupid Robot Master
>the fucking eyes
>punching himself, then exploding
Hey, that's the thing I made that one time.
I was going through all the macros and stuff RVA put up on mediafire, and it looks like I wasn't the first to have that idea.
Though I have no idea what episode this is from.
20.000 leaks under the sea, or something. I only remember it because of the pun.
The government presents Light with a super advanced laboratory, because he's such a swell guy. The gang goes in to check it out. Lol, it's a trap. Lab grows legs and walks away.
Roll was awesome.
Hold the fuck up mooger man.
You cant dissapear yet
Yes, this is everything I wanted.
How about this one?
It's from that body swapping episode.
>>70845666 (nice trips dude)
That reminds me.
This is also a pretty ridiculous series of events.
Daily reminder that Shadowman is the best robot of all time.
Anyone else got good macros?
Amen to that, brother.
He certainly was the most interesting to fight with just the pea shooter. He actively chases you down, and will actually try to punish you for abusing obvious openings in his approach. Jump over him while he's sliding, and he'll try to jump into you. Slide below him when he jumps, and he'll try to slide into you as soon as he lands. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
>both being wrong
You know what one was always a favorite of the threads?
It was just the silly pose he made while jumping.
RVA collected a bunch of them and put them up on here.
>Who the fuck..
A don't know what episode it's from >>70846850 but I know more than just me would probably like that.
Or >>70846258 which I'm pretty sure is from the first episode.
That one doesn't need any text.
Are you absolutely positive? Because I can clearly see Snake Man's head tail, and Dark Man didn't appear in Brain Bot. It's gotta be The Day the Moon Fell. Either that, or the animators fucked up.
I must have hundreds of these, but I never think to use them.
"The name's Top Man, but you can call me 'Toppy'."
Sorry for the wait, would you like a gif as well? I can cut out the crew compartment scene for that. If you want it in better quality.
I find it ironic that he stopped doing these threads not too long after I stopped working early morning shifts on weekends.
Is there a wizard robotmaster?
I feel like there would be.
Yeah, I thought there was a magic robot.
Don't remember him at all though.
You can't have kids shooting and killing each other on national tv at family time.
And to have them infiltrate on enemy bases and perform complex fighting strategies would be absurd.
I saw a DVD box set of this yesterday and wanted to pick it up. Loved it, didn't think it aged though, just looks like a typical cartoon made in the 90's, when I get paid next week defintly going back to get it.
The NetNavi version actually looked like a wizard.
Megaman cosplay is always great, even when it's terrible.
This was my show as a kid in the mid-late 90s. It was this immediately after school, and Arthur immediately before. Sonic and Street Sharks on Saturdays.
I haven't watched any of the above since then except for Arthur.
>Megaman thinks he's become human
>Still goes to fight robots with a robot's cannon
Holy crap this was a dumb episode.
And I'm sure you've got yours from a goat's tits.
Dr. Wily juggling ZE MUUN
I love that artist
>Looking at the wikipage for this cartoon
>"Despite their absences, it is shown on the IMDB page for this cartoon that Charge Man, Plant Man, and Knight Man had voice actors, hinting that the cartoon would also feature robots from Mega Man 6."
Not only could we have eventually gotten Charge Man, but there's also no reason to assume that more MM6 bosses besides just PLant and Knight would have shown up, since they did a pretty good job of getting virtually ever boss from every game at least ONE appearance
If you can't find it, then how about Protoman riding the triceratops from Robosaur Park?
I don't remember if that scene was funny or interestingly animated or not though.
Damn, I don't remember Wily having all these skills.
We could always use more Cutman.
I gotta admit, I've always liked Rush getting into these kinds of situations. Same goes with pic related.
It's weird seeing him not making puns.
It was a fun show. Design and premise were decently faithful, good animation, funny shit happened nonstop, and some occasional really cool action sequences.
Same as the Legend of Zelda TV show.
It was wasn't 100% SUPER FAITHFUL JAPANESE ANIME ADAPTATION so it became a meme for hardcore neckbeards to hate them for being slightly different back in the day.
I feel many of these macros still hold true years later.
I hated the TV Zelda series because it wasn't that funny. It was just kinda boring, and they never stuck too far away from the plot.
Megaman was above average, was FAR more faithful to the games, had incredible variety in robot masters, and had some pretty insane plots. When it was bad, it was so bad that it was good, like the power glove.
I fucking loved Mega Man as a kid, the games, the show, the toys, everything about the franchise. I still fucking love Mega Man, and watching the show now...yeah, it's corny as all fuck, but it's fun to watch, and that theme song is just killer.
So if you were put in charge of a Megaman cartoon, what elements of which continuities would you use? Who would be the recurring/primary characters? How faithful would you keep to the game storylines?
>So if you were put in charge of a Megaman cartoon, what elements of which continuities would you use?
Roll would be an action girl, like in Ruby Spears...just not as annoying (I hope).MM8 Outfit, to hell with the sundress.
Also, from the Gigamix, I'm keeping the MM5 Robot Masters as the Hourly Pay Squad (maybe with a different name, but I'd keep the goofy sentai thing.) And Star Man would remain as fabulous as fuck.
>Who would be the recurring/primary characters?
The original six Light Numbers would get just as much screen time as Rock. They wouldn't just be his sometimes support team. I'd make it a team show, and each one would get the occasional episode devoted to them. Maybe I'd even do episodes where Rock doesn't show up at all.
And I'd try to use Dr Cossack and Dive Man as much as humanly possible.
>How faithful would you keep to the game storylines?
Not very. I'd probably skip MM1. The Light Numbers never get reprogrammed, and jump right into helping Mega Man fight the Second Numbers. I'd retell MM3 more or less faithfully, but the next four games have kinda crap stories, so I dunno, I'd introduce the characters in the right order, but find something different to do with them.
