POST YFW THE STEVEN UNIVERSE UNCLE GRANDPA CROSSOVER
It was the best most cartoony episode of SU and im gona kill anyone who constantly presses that cop out that can be assumed vaguely
stop lieing to yourself you smug bastards
It was pretty sweet
Literally one of the funniest things ive seen in awhile.
So much butthurt, based Sugar
10/10 day for Steven Universe. Bless.
From now on, Uncle Grandpa is cool in my book. I have never laughed so hard at a cartoon in years. I normally hate meta-humor, but seeing Steven Universe take a break from MUH SERIOUS LORE EMOTIONS was so refreshing. KNow what I mean?
it was nothing, it didnt make me mad, it didnt surprise me by being good, it was just whatever
i did want to see more though? because it only felt like 5 or 6 minutes long
>yfw Uncle Grandpa REALLY said "Don't worry. None of this is cannon, but this is."
>April fools joke
>That "Who I Helped" List
>The whole thing actually
>Pearl losing her shit the whole episode
i didn't believe it at first, but tumblr kiddies really will go out of their way to make ANYTHING seem offensive and harmful
what are you gonna do, fag?
mods are on our side
>One of those promos where kids submit viewers of themselves
>A kid made a little pencil doodle of Garnet, put the paper in front of the camera, and with a deepened voice went, "This is Garnet and you are watching Steven Universe on Cartoon Network"
Fuck that's so cute.
I love those little promos, seeing little kids appreciate the shows and characters, I love it.
Yes, we wouldn't want to tarnish the sacred integrity of... Ed Edd n Eddy.
It's like they completely missed the point of the episode. tumblr, let go of your hate...and remember to say Good Morning.
So do you guys actively follow these blogs or do you refresh the tags every thirty seconds after an episode airs looking for this shit because the Steven Universe tag over there is overwhelmingly positive
No it wasn't great. People were so afraid of it being shit that the fact that it's not completely awful makes them feel like the episode was amazing. But looking at it objectively the episode wasn't funny at all, and mostly filled with obnoxious attempts at humor.
> fan of SU
> fan of UG
> still a bit worried how they will make these 2 very DISTINCTLY different universes coalesce
> its a fucking 10/10 ep
I thought season 5 of cartoon voldemort or the release of Killing Floor 2 was going to be the highlight of April.
I was fucking WRONG.
At first announcement I was fearful.
Later sugar be all it's chill, I was all it's going to be rad
Now i worry for the future of Steven universe.
I died laughing at blowing up Lars and Saddies ship , rest of it my salty tears.
Boring and waste of time.
As an SU-lorefag, I was bothered by it from the very first announcement, but watched the episode, nonetheless.
It was already non-canon to begin with, but the humor itself was stale and unfitting.
I know I can no longer be 'cool' by /co/-standards, but I stand by my opinions.
>not appreciating a clever nod to the Birth of Venus
>not enjoying mental breakdown Pearl
>apparently didn't see the last fucking episode where the gems jump the gun and almost kill Steven.
>Maternal love is sexist...
>more being upset over the "that makes sense" joke. also, ableism...
>flat out saying you're not willing to discuss it after you post a wall of text like that.
This shit is golden.
Use a PC iOS/Android game emulator. I remember seeing a friend of mine use one to play Clash of Clans on his laptop.
Incidentally, he also found a way to play the Scott Pilgrim XBLA game on his modded Dreamcast. Dude's insane.
Might as well.
First off when I realized that it was UG that was magically Rose I fucking turned the channel for at least a few seconds because for anyone who has seen a few shows at least would know that that shit would NOT be okay and it was completely cringey to me. Then the not canon and the shipping jokes were funny, and so was the heads in space along with the reaction. But after that the whole thing took a nosedive into crap and couldn't find its way out. Except for the Pizza guy getting eaten and the RIP at the end. Anyways, it was just as mediocre as I expected, and I was probably as glad as Garnet was that it was over.
What this guy said, and I love it.
I WON'T LET YOU...GET AWAY...WITH THIS
As a person that didn't watch either show and simply managed to be in the room when my sister watched it, seemed funny.
SWAT Kats being one slot on his list at the end when every other group was broken into component members is triggering my autism though.
But the fact that SU usually isn't like that at all is what made it so funny. A show that often tries to be dramatic and thoughtful was allowed to be actually cartoonish for once and that was great
>it only felt like 5 or 6 minutes long
Every episode of SU, really. I say that Uncle Grandpa would benefit from longer episodes too, that way it could be more of a variety show that it wants to be
>Uncle Grandpa as Rose
>This isn't Canon
>Character heads floating in outer space
>Amethyst eating the 3-way sandwich
>"I'm still a rockstar, kid"
>Pizza Steve's entrance
>"I'm a Steve too! Steven Universe!"
>Pizza Steven Universe
>NOT MUH BABY
>"I'm ready for this episode to be over"
>Rage-filled adult fans getting BTFO by UG's speech
>THAT FUCKING LIST
I defy any one of you to name me an episode of Steven Universe with more laugh out loud moments. Not a better episode, but a FUNNIER one. You can't.
fuck them. Uncle Grandpa is, if you don't like the humor, still a really good looking cartoon.
Steven Universe is obviously the cartoon someone would make that grew up with sailor moon and dragonball
I thought it was pretty funny.
Shame both shows are only on 15 minute runtimes.
NY Comic Con was full of these faggots. At the Cartoon Network panel, Uncle Grandpa and Clarence only got "polite applause" while everybody went batshit for Steven Universe and Adventure Time. Even more insulting was at the screening the day before, a third of the room left after Adventure Time and Regular Show, like literally the second Uncle Grandpa's theme came on they left, it's like Uncle Grandpa's mere existence triggers them.
Heh,heh, heh, heh, ha, haha, hah hahahhahahahha,HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES, YES, YES, YES, YES.
And then I promptly deleted it of my DVR after rewatching Uncle Grandpa sat it wasn't cannon three times and watching Pearl scream "THAT'S NOT MY BABY!"
YES, YES, YES.
I might have to watch Uncle Grandpa now, its like an old school Loony Toon.
i enjoyed it.
I've said it once, saying it again, I want UG to deliver on that. I could care less whether or not it's done in the usual UG style or not, if they do this and more crossovers as gracefully as the SU one was today, it would give me a newfound respect for the show.
It's a good time to be alive
>mfw all dat butthurt
Pearl freaking out for 15 minutes made this way more enjoyable than it had any right being.
That really is too bad. Both would benefit immensely from a 20 minute length.
Also am I the only one who felt that the part in the UGRV was kind of slower to the rest of the episode, with not as much jokes?
...Okay, I'll bite.
What were they saying was transphobic?
I don't even like most anime you dumb nerd.
There are good "cartoony" cartoons and there are bad "cartoony" cartoons. Being "cartoony" doesn't automatically make something better.
>all of those weasel-words
so they actually reference shit like "shipping" and "canon" directly by those terms in their cartoon?
i do not know how i could sit through all that without cringing right out of my skin.
Ship and Cannon are both puns in the episode, so the joke for the kids is the wacky literal Cannons and Ships, but the larger joke is mocking the fanbase who takes either element very seriously.
she isn't tumblr at all and it's just one of those buzzwords that make me wana throw up
for christs sakes she shitposts here before, come on man just because it has female and subtle homosexuality doesn't make shit tumblr
I dare you to try and make a good show, Pete did
I honestly wanted to like the cross over and had a few funny parts but couldn't enjoy it. I liked the fourth wall parts like amethyst tripping and screaming, "whyyyyy?!" but any part with uncle grandpa urked me. I was never a fan of uncle grandpa and I hated the way he talked personally.
"That's not my baby"
She's not attractive in the slightest but I still have the biggest fucking crush on her.
But speaking of Tumblr reactions,
This one is actually pretty decent. Autistic, but in a cute sort of way.
Sugar is good looking in a realistic way. Also I think I'm developing a crush on curly haired women independently from the crush I'm developing on Rebecca.
matching phone cases, oh lordy.
RIP Pizza Steve you were too radical for this world.
The episode was hilarious.
I thought it was great. It really felt like they were willing to poke fun at themselves and have a good time with it.
The episode was absolutely fucking
amazing, I don't get why anyone would hate it. That shipping joke was hilarious.
I still can't believe there are people who liked it. There are people who think steven universe is "too serious" and don't realist that actually having character development and overarching plot are good things.
Don't forget Pearl breaking into tears.
>and don't realist that actually having character development and overarching plot are good things.
Having character development and overarching plots ARE a good thing.
Doesn't change the fact that it's still a ten minute long sketch comedy show on Cartoon Network.
It's okay to hearken back to roots every once in a while.
You'll have a hundred more canon episodes in the future, who fucking cares if ONE episode's a zany irreverent crossover? Especially one that's stated to be a non-canon April's Fool joke?
You need to learn to have fun bro.
because it's a waste of ten minutes that they could have used to give us a good episode.
yes it's roots. But uncle grandpa is a whole different kind of show. Yes they both are comedy but it's a whole different kind of humor and the UG humor is personally not one i'm a fan of and since this was more like an UG episode than a steven universe episode i just didn't enjoy it.
>it's a waste of ten minutes
Think how many hours of your life you've wasted being angry over children's cartoons not matching your deluded expectations.
>that they could have used to give us a good episode.
They did give us a good episode.
good for people who like uncle grandpa. I don't like uncle grandpa but i do like steven universe and surely you people can at least agree that this was nothing like any other episode of steven universe.
>surely you people can at least agree that this was nothing like any other episode of steven universe.
it was good.
>good for people who like uncle grandpa
I never watched UG, but the episode was a funny jab at the deluded SU fanboys like you so I'm glad it exists to make people like you suffer.
When did all of that happen?
In particular, when did these happen:
>Let's make fun of the emotions of a person with PTSD
>treat a dead character like a joke
>add a transmisogynistic joke
>Uncle G dressed like Rose
>Uncle G dressed like Rose
Personally, I think Rose would find Uncle Grandpa hilarious, especially when he dressed like her, and see the beauty in his antics, whatever that means
>okay I think ppl need to understand the reason we’re so upset with UG even being in the same vicinity as SU
>SU was a show that was both suitable and fun for children and treated things like gender identies, mental illnesses and emotions respectfully
Somehow tumblr latched on Steven Universe because they think it tackles all these important issues even though to interpret it that way you need to go through some serious lit-crit contortionism.
The reason why retards think that SU is a "tumblr" show is, you guessed it, tumblr itself and their thinking that everything is about them.
A fantastic episode. Both Uncle Grandpa and Steven Universe shined in this episode. They brought to the table what they're both great at and had a lot of fun for the episode. It was just as fun catching up to Steven Universe and really getting into the show just so I could take in the show and understand everything that was to happen with the show on its own and of course for the crossover. I hope others got a chance to check out and appreciate Uncle Grandpa as well. If you loved the out of the box thinking and clever visual gags, I would check the episodes 'Shorts' and 'Moustache Cream' out. Those are two episodes that are exceptional in this regard and are my favorite episodes.
For 11 minutes, it was great but I'm a little sad they didn't make it a 22 minute special and give equal bearing to both shows in that format. They still did it, but it was great for how it was all tied together
with that 'plothole' and how they used the Uncle Grandpa bumper sequence perfectly with itAnother thing I wish they did was make a goof on the intro. That would have epitomized it. Maybe next time.
The greatest crossover I've ever seen was in the 90s with COPS and The X-Files. They billed it as a COPS episode and called it 'The X-COPS'. The intro is really something because it makes you think an episode of The X-Files is coming on
then the COPS intro plays, but you might be surprised at who shows up in the intro.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ZdZ6NQ95I COPS was traditionally a 30 minute format show but they stretched the bounds for it in a 1 hr crossover special and utilized the COPS cameramen with The X-Files writing. It keeps switching to both throughout the episode. I was hoping for more of that with Say Uncle but for the time allotted they came up with some great stuff and very clever jokes. I hope this opens the door for more meetings between them and other crossovers in the future.
BRAVO UNCLE GRANDPA & STEVEN UNIVERSE!
Well, yeah. tumblr and the culture it permeates is as egotistical and narcissistic as it gets.Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING somehow reflects back to or should pander to them. Any less is an insult and a hate crime of the highest degree. So you get a show where the characters are flawed and tumblr in all it's glory swings it's cudgel of of attention to it and screeches that "I CAN RELATE TO THIS NOW I WANT THE SHOW TO DO EXACTLY WHAT I WANT 5EVER."
even with all that insane hype they still lost to teen titan
>Pearls worrying, special attention to care, and discomforts are often interpreted as autistic, and many fans relate to here because of this.
D'ja hear that Pearlfags? She just called you autistic.
It's not the tumblr kiddies. It's the +30 crowd. Creepy as shit.
The kiddies didn't think it'd be good, and some liked and some not, but were pretty bros about it.
>SU is the female version of bronies
It's pretty good considering the limitations of being made for tablets but don't kid yourself into thinking it's anything other than a fun time-waster with some neat links to the show. Proper SU game developed by Intelligent Systems or Brownie Brown when?
>Garnet has 0 votes
shit taste all around
Now, who would you rather fight?
but SU is basically a better naruto
Bee and puppycat is a worst sailor moon
why did it got deleted
