Possible KND reboot thread. Petition is pretty much at 10k...is it safe to get hype again for the possible show yet?
Of course. Mr. Warburton confirmed it is actually a potential series, and not a prank. He also tweeted and posted the petition on Tumblr. We just need to spread it.
IR we could get a website like Kotaku or something to write an article, it'd be even better. We just need to get the word out. Recommission everyone.
>Except this has the backing of and was initiated by the creator himself and several former voice actors
That doesn't mean anything. The network isn't obligated to take a petition seriously. People are already talking like this is a done deal once it reaches X number of signatures.
HOLY SHIT NEW VIDEO!
Glad the petition hit 10k, it's an impressive milestone but it doesn't feel like enough.
I want this show to be made so badly. Both the teasers were amazing. But I just have no hope that it comes to fruition. :/
I'll keep trying to spread the word with friends and twitter or whatever though.
Technically not true. Nick took notice of Hey Arnold because of petitions/letters and contact its creator about it.
You guys might benefit from doing something similar. Set a date for a mass mail in to the head of CN Or try to get it trending on twitter once a week.
>implying that those that sign the petition in any way are not biased towards nostalgia and do not misrepresent the potential interest in a reboot
You might want to consider, also.
>video was the creators putting something together to try and get a big enough buzz to convince the network to give them a new series
told you. to the letter.
It's an uphill battle. CN just doesn't like to step out of their comfort zone of marketing to young kids and selling the toy rights. Getting older teen to early adult nostalgiafags interested in a KND series isn't gonna do them much good.
>not knowing no one really expects this
>projecting this hard
>being this much of a downer
I have my suspicions of this being a planned marketing campaign anyway, there's no reason to expect it not to be made.
>nobody is saying that we expect this to work stop making things up
>but we do expect this to work
>April 1st GKND is just e-begging
Why should I be hype for this shit? IF they aren't able to do this themselves then why should I care? Petitions never fucking work anyways. If only this show was mature, then maybe I could care.
>if only this show was MATURE for MATURE VIEWERS like me
That's also an urban legend. Government agencies are more likely to look at a petition if it reaches a high number (the White House has a policy of not considering them until it gets to 10,000) but it's not an actual law and they don't actually have to do shit. For some reason people have taken this policy and decided that it must apply to everyone everywhere, so they think if their petition to have Sonic the Hedgehog appear in the latest episode of My Tiny Equine and get gay married to Big Whopper reaches 10,000, then Sega is obligated to start drawing up the paperwork with Hasbro.
because Cree is a good enough agent to escape decommisioning. Even just woken up she could likely take numbuh 5 (as we've seen them fight in episodes) and that's not even accounting for parental trouble they'd both get in.
This video>>70907566 was posted. Thursday, Mr. Warburton made a blog confirming it is indeed real and that we need to spread the word. A new series "isn't" happening, but could. Friday, he tweeted the petition we made
must be heard, not must comply.
that said, the whole campaign by warbuton and crew was obviously to start off something like this, so if they were hopefully enough that we could get them their job back assuming they could start enough hype, I'd imagine its at least worth a shot in hopes that they judged right.
it was 7.
And I'm pretty sure it was meant to be leaked. it was on Rainbowmonkey.com/media. No password. Just the incredibly exposed media folder with all the copyright free sound effects. Not even the other kinds of media on the site.
It was moved shortly after, but Tom shared the 7chan leak almost immediately after it happened.
And creating that numbuh vine addressing numbuhs 3 and 4 animation would have taken longer than 5 days to make I would think.
Because for that to work you need really, really big numbers. 10,000 signatures means nothing to a network. Get 100,000+ and they MIGHT take notice. Either way, unless you have bigger numbers than that, a petition alone isn't going to do shit,
>he thinks I'm expecting it to be done in days
Son, we're playing the long haul here.
The goal is to get the numbers. It doesn't really matter how long, so long as it occurs before Warburton can't use it as leverage anymore.
Probably the JP parody, where Numbuh 4 goes to Bully Island. Hell, any Numbuh 4 centric episode.
>the dodgeball wizard
>the bowling tournament
>the underground dad fighting ring
I need to rewatch this show, if only to learn the episode acronyms.
which is why she's a feminazi.
in all semi-seriousness she /does/ have a scottish accent, so that's probably how she interprets it.
Speaking of which, how did they censor that one when it crossed the pond? Like her mom making fun of it and all.
I guess it's about time I told you guys.
4chan is a secondary Kids Next Door for young adults, for those of us who aren't quite part of the adult tyranny and still have what it takes.
What board do you frequent the most? That is your sector. Right now you're in sector /co/.
Your codenames will be the last 3 numbers of your post.
Recently the leader, Numbuh M00T, was decomissioned for becoming too adult.
This was supposed to be secret, but I feel now is the time to let you know.
4CHAN NEXT DOOR RULES
Rollan for sector /mlp/
rainbow dash x Rainbow money when?
>tfw Operation R.E.P.O.R.T
It's great, and has held up considerably well over the years. The kind of show that really demands rewatches with all the context from later seasons and world-building. Plus, the characters are just down to earth and charming.
In comparison to most modern animated shows, I'd say it's not as pretentious and knows exactly what it wants to be without acting vague about it. It also doesn't try to mask the fact that it's a cartoon first and foremost, and doesn't attempt to incorporate real-life ideas or dialogue to make itself appeal to normies.
>Was this show any good?
>How does it compare to currently running shows?
You know how people say AT, SU and GF have the DEEPEST LORE?
KND is probably the earliest, if not one of the first for CN, to actually do that. The attention to its lore and recurring characters is fantastic for a show made in the 00s and it can be quite funny too
I still remember when there was "It is a prank you idiots, you all been ruse" and it wasn't a prank.
I can't wait until you get BTFO and CN notice the petition and greenlit G:KND.
>IF they aren't able to do this themselves then why should I care?
Here is a theory: If Mr. Warburton returned to Cartoonnetwork and pitched the idea of G:KND you think they'll easily say "Well, we knew you for a long time buddy, we have faith in this project of yours! Let's order a season of 16 episodes"? Nah, they'll most likely say "C:KND is old, the kids who grew up on it are adults, they won't remember and moved on, they don't care."
We can potentially make Galactic: Kids Next Door happen, this gives advantage for Mr. Warburton and can give Cartoonnetwork the reason to greenlit G:KND.
And, look at the effort Mr. Warburton put into G:KND; he reuninted the VAs, drew the storyboard, wrote the script, he was able and do that all by himself because he is passionate about Galactic: Kids Next Door.
I think Mr. Warburton doesn't want to use Kickstarter or anything because he doesn't want to ask his fans for money or anything.
I know it's not a genre. I mean in a sense that it's a more traditional sort of cartoon with more of a slapstick vibe than modern shows. People use "cartoon" as a term sometimes to discern that particular style of animations.
Remember the last time?
That wasn't a petition. The actual petition SMGO had up for Young Justice got, like, 200% more signatures than it needed.
THAT, on the other hand, barely anyone wanted to participate in once they saw the $10 million price tag. It also had no official backing by Warner Bros, so, y'know, no guarantee they wouldn't have just took the money and ran.
I always wondered how the blond one was able to see dispite helmet like hair was covering his eye-...welp I now know who his dad is.
Reading it back, it is a bit of a weird way I phrased it I suppose. I just meant as in it felt more traditional in a sense, as opposed to stuff like Gumball and Regular Show that work more as abnormal sitcoms.
No reason to be confrontational about it though.
POOL, NUGGET, and FUTURE were pretty good. TRICYCLE was awesome for having that combined bicycle cannon nonsense.
The music episode were good too, the spinach one and the one with slamwitch.
>Petition is pretty much at 10k
If a 1 million strong petition couldn't save Jeremy Clarkson, 10 fucking k won't bring back a 10 years dead show...
That would be awesome, but I don't know of any YT personalities that like KND or would have any interest in this at all. Best we can do at this current time is spam FB, Tumblr, Reddit, etc etc with the petition and information.
Lukewarm reception on the petition on reddit. The irony in the fact that the subreddit with the most upvotes on it is /r/teenagers.
The "Stop the g:KND" video got about 2k upvotes on /r/television, and it's been at that score since it was uploaded in the first place, so I'm not sure if it's getting any more attention.
Man it's been so fucking long, hearing the intro and outro songs again hit me right in the nostalgia feels.
So remember Operation Z.E.R.O.? Do you think grandfather was ever legally punished for what he did? Brought to a court of law and shit? Even if he doesn't remember I think at best he would be shot.
With a actual pistol not mustard gun.
>tfw no white Mexican MC that's part of the KND group
>Retards think it was a prank in the first place
>5 fucking days later "hmm, maybe they WEREN'T fucking with us"
It was obvious from the beginning it wasn't a prank, keep fucking spreading this shit till we get something done.
Probably manifestation of evil or some shit like that, since Father was all into that while Monty followed the Book of KND. I heard a theory that Grandfather's fire powers might be why Numbuh 1 is immune to brain freezes.
What would you want to see if GKND gets a mini-series?
>Father terrorizing the galaxy looking for Nigel, just to get his pipe back
>Numbuh Vine/Nigel undertones
>There ya go, incase it doesnt work his name is TKG
Possible, but he also has plenty of power to spare as shown both in the beginning (at the convention) and near the end (when facing off with Grandfather with Monty), when he fires up and gets everyone to stfu.
So your argument is that all kid's shows are bad and we are wrong for wanting them to be good? Diagnoses. Faggot. Prognoses is that you will suck dick.
I just realized, how come the delightful
Spooky as shitchildren never called 911 on the knd when they tried to steal their cake? They do act allot like adults so it would be in character. Plus the KND are using mustard gas. They can just say their stealing their shit in general and not just the cake, not mention what they are using and just say "get here quick." Unless of course, they already did...
That's true, there was a court and all that nonsense in that episode, but really, with all the destruction caused by both the KND and the villains they're facing, if the police existed, why haven't they shown up yeT?
...yeah, exactly where the hell do they get the materials for half the things they build? Electricity/powuh is basically explained by the hamsters, since that is a good enough explanation for kids, but where do they get materials from?
>I didn't like it so why would anyone else
Your like the 2nd worst type of poster.
Again, aside from that one episode, there doesn't appear to be any form of law enforcement, otherwise they would be having the field day with the amount of destruction both sides cause when the KND and villains face off.
I'm down for a miniseries. CN seems to be into miniseries now after the success of OTGW; if the AT miniseries and the other upcoming original miniseries also perform well, that could really open the gates to miniseries of shows both old and new.
Hmm, maybe that could be a thing. I mean, the 6 Gum Gang or whatever had a pretty legit law enforcement setup at the elementary school, complete with a courtroom and a jail cell.
So they clearly know what guns are/look like since most of their weapons are generally shaped like some sort of gun, and are operated by a trigger most of the time.
I think their weapons are non-lethal because most of the time they're just trying to solve a problem, like getting back something that was stolen, so their plan is mostly to neutralize the enemy, grab the goods, and get the hell out.
Indeed. It also explains why the KND never battled a dictator. That's the armies job.
We know the Army is composed of adults. Which makes some sense, kid's aren't prepared to see someone's head get blown apart by a rifle.
That does make sense. It's still strange that there is no real "law enforcement" but I guess the KND are good at what they do.
That's a good point, but for the most part, the GKND isn't revealed in full till the end of the series. They might just be an overseeing power that watches over the Earth KND. I have no idea.
>TFW you are a officer.
>TFW a organization of children using scrap weapons are higher in rank than you in every way.
>TFW only kids can join the KND.
>TFW they even fight worse things than you.
Poor police and their ego. I can just imagine all the jokes that would come from that alone.
it had a cliffhanger ending, and the sequel was very much foreshadowed. likely been planned for ages and just has been having trouble getting greenlit, which is why warburton shifted to grassroots tactics.
Hopefully it doesn't try to be like futurama or south park...hopefully it will just try to be it's own thing. I swear if they make father like bender...
BITE MY BLACK CURRENTLY ON FIRE ASS!
We may be looking at this wrong. Why not ask for a UG/KND cross over to start with. I mean it wouldn't be as big a financial strain on Cartoon network and UG would love to do it I am sure .
And why not do the same for KND. I do not want a canon episode, (God forbid) but if UG had the KND crew write a episode and had UG air it, it would be a way to show that there is intrest in it without having to spend the big money one buying a entire season.
>It may be the only way.
Are you that stupid? You NEVER start a show with a noncannon crossover. Especially if that show your crossing over with is a piece of shit. It's good in small doses but I'm just saying KND's characters never got me to punt them out the window.
Just NO. You need to buy a season to air the show you idiot! They have to spend that money either way!
Parents were consistently nice people. Wally was crazy upset when he ended up having to face his dad in a matador fight. (see pic)
And after ZERO, Nigel straight up idolizes his dad. Went from "yeah he's kind of dorky but I love him, would tuba battle some punk to get him back" to "If I grow up to be half the man he is I will consider myself a success"
There's a lot of difference in the series between evil adults, those that are looking to screw over kids for their own benefits (see Wink/Fib, Mr. Boss, Chester, XXXL to an extent) v.s. a good one, like Dr. Lincoln or Mrs. Gilligan.
Also, remember that kids that are no threat to turning traitor and are skilled in espionage enough not to leak secrets often don't get decommisioned as teens, instead becoming secret agents.
There's also the Cowboy Kids Club, which other than Wink and Fib leaving to become villains, remained in operation protecting kids from those that would abuse their power long after the members became as old as the senior citizen squad.
"Adult" is an unavoidable disease to the KND, not a state of mind.
Heck, even Spankulot, who's normally seen as an antagonist is treated with some level of respect, since he's been known to punish adults as much as kids. He's just a source of rogue justice that's often more an inconvenience than a help. Mostly because everyone on both sides of the line are often misbehaving and breaking rules.
And there are adult equivalents to the KND, for instance the Senior Citizen Squad is a group of septuagenarian who look out for the wellbeing of the elderly. They're not exactly allies, but they've been known to work together in cases of mutual well-being or threat, such as Robin Food.
>I'd ruffle more than that.
I hope your not talking about what I think you are.
That's what he says at least. It can be seen as sexual because it's not his right to spank them, he would at least be wanted by law for assault on children. Spanking can be considered harming them legally.
they already did a billy mandy crossover. it went alright.
And i could see UG being a character in the KND universe. He's not terribly out of place, unlike his compatriots. But they can be written away as part of his reality warping powers.
I'll admit he's a vigilante, but we see him put in court then jail for spanking a kid that WASN'T guilty of wrongdoings.
I figure its a batman kind of arrangement.
While I agree, he was willing to kidnap both times. honestly and ironically, if he's just come right out and asked he probably would have gotten all the help he needed.
if she's a police officer, I'm sure she'd be older. It's fine.
shoot I forgot about the talking underwear. That's basically Bellybag right there.
And the dinosaur, you're right. So the only weird one is the living pizza, and for that we've got grandma stuffem.
He already established that the KND ARE the police or at least a higher rank that can take up police roles. She would still be young with that logic.
I know. But I'm pointing out that his default strategy is kidnap kids and use them to test his snowcones, not "Hey would you all mind helping me"
Its his mindset and methods that makes him a villain, even when his intentions are good.
Ah, that list. Wonder why any of them weren't on there though...
Yeah, I guess kidnapping isn't the best strategy. Maybe's it's an emulation of the "kidnap someone in an evil manner only for them to realize it's not what they think" cliche?
You're thinking of this all from a story perspective. And I've agreed with everything you've said on that so far. Yes, it is the cliche, yes it is a miscommunication situation.
But I'm talking more in terms of character behavior. He's willing to put his own goals above the wellfare of children. If his goals were actually nefarious, I doubt his methods would get better.
He just happens to only want to make snowcones.
eh, the numbuh 10 jealousy likely wasn't a ruse.
my guess is, started as undercover honeypot type stuff, then became something real.
then again, brain helmet thing doesn't sound very "observe and study" so maybe completely unrelated to her earth mission.
GO BACK TO YOUR CRUDDY CONTAINMENT BOARD!
just rewatched. unless the "yummy" comment when the end credits rocket goes off was a continuation, I wouldn't say her bug eyed breathing fire facial reaction is a positive reaction to her own cooking.
>Hoagie keeps eating the cake
>It even comes back in the final episode
Hmm, I thought it was supposed to show that despite the shitty things it does to your body, and the fact that she herself experienced them, that she thought her cooking was good.
