Has Marvel completely fucked any suits or looks up in movie/TV yet?
Laser Tag Deathlok wasn't great. Avengers Condom Head Cap was pretty bad.
Other then that I can't think of any others that really looked outright bad. Hawkguy's is really damn different but that costume would look terrible IRL so I get it.
They fucked Ultron up really bad, also Deathlok looks like shit. Dardevil costume was ripped straight from Secret wars so that was a pleasant suprise, it looks good for a TV show.
You're going to be disappointed. Streetwear is their costume.
Really love Ironman. I like aspects of the other costumes but not really happy with any of them.
GOAT movie costumes:
Batman in BvS
> Scarlet Witch is disappointing
The thing is they can't actually write a reasonable plot explanation for why Wanda would dress in a red body stocking with a crown on top.
And you still get a good view of her tits so 85% of that costume's job is done anyway.
Jesus, i hope they don't change his costume too much for the MCU Spider-man
Daredevil's is just a red Batsuit. It doesn't fit a Ninja-like character to have that costume. Being full red is very distinctive and memorable, instead of what we got, which is really quite forgettable.
Not a fan of Hawkeye's outfit. I really liked his cheesy purple get-up.
Ant-man, Yellowjacket and Star-Lord ended up pretty great, though the tufts of hair sticking out of Star-Lord's helmet is stupid.
>The helmet would look fucking stupid in a real movie.
The suit itself looks stupid. Too may plastic looking details. I head they didn't keep on the helmet because it flip flopped on action scenes.
Yes, I did. Deadpool is another excellent costume.
Also, whilst there are things about the Man of Steel costumes that I don't like, they do fit really well and the actor has the musculature to really fill out the suit in the proper way.
The suit was fine-ish in the Avengers even if looking really cheap in some scenes, looks horrible in the second one for some reason.
But just adding the helmet would throw the whole thing underwater
I don't know how they didn't work out something more accurate to the source material. It's not like a simpler design wouldn't have worked. Except maybe Chris Hemsworth would seem smaller than in a padded armor
On the Thor costume I do like the look of the chainmail/armor he has on his arms.
For Thor I just don't really like the way it has this weird kind of techno viking aesthetic, like all old Norse shit reinterpreted through Tron 2 or something.
People asking for more faithful costumes don't understand how bad they would look IRL, and how bad they actually look in comics. The MCU is a perfect blend of realistic and fantasy, I think the costumes reflect that pretty well.
Also, those aren't up to date I think. Hawkeyes got more purple highlights, which is better, and Cap has a better costume in AoU, more like his winter soldier costume.
Starlord would actually look better with his comic helmet, and vision looks fucking stupid in any medium.
I was expecting something more like this, but more nordic looking. It was shown it could work.
Anyway, the movie Thor design is already too ingrained in public perception to change it. To general public, Thor is a space prince now.
Thor. His entire mythos and world as well. Everytime I see his getup, it just looks so incredibly cheap and plastic with windbreaker looking pants. I'm still kind of pissed they fucked up so badly with everything.
One of the reasons I enjoyed the Thor films was the weird Krull aesthetic. It didn't look like anything else in the MCU.
I'm sure if I had a real connection to the character I'd be pretty mad or annoyed, but I've never given a shit about Marvel Thor so just watching them as 80's throwback fantasy/sci-fi films they were actually pretty entertaining.
I can't really argue with fans that hate the movies though, if they did the same to Iron Man I'd be platinum level mad. I just can't get mad over betrayal when it's something I have zero emotional connection to.
Yes, I'm the one fan of Iron Man that existed before the movies.
He isn't dead inside, he is stressed as fuck because he is playing Captain America in an Avenger's movie.
He is actually really shy apparently, he has turned down multiple movie rolls because he doesn't think he deserves them. RDJ apparently had to convince him to do Captain America after he turned them down for the roll.
The helmet looked great you faggot, it's just that his head was too small and it kept moving around and falling off. So instead of redesigning it, they decided to go without one, because they certainly aren't making the movie for fans of the character.
>If he wanted to look like comic Thor, he should be over 250 lbs at the very least. And no one would want that.
And thats really the problem because comic characters aren't drawn with any semblance to actual human anatomy, which is exactly what they are supposed to do. But also the costumes are made with that anatomy in mind. So when a live action appearance needs to happen, things need to be tweaked like how Daredevil had to have leather in the movie and the character needed an armor design
>Most Cap costumes
Bretty Gud Tier:
Not Really A Costume Tier:
Are You Fucking Joking Tier:
>like how Daredevil had to have leather in the movie and the character needed an armor design
neither of those were necessary, both were stylistic choices. they could easily have reproduced a faithful costume in spandex like in ASM and it would have looked fantastic.
I hope this looks like this in live action
Are you blind? Every single design is either stupid or bastardized with the only exceptions being Iron Man, Star Lord, Hulk and Ant-man.
Black widow doesn't count cause it was impossible to bastardize.
Not his Ultimates 3 suit, his Ultimates 1-2 suit.
>Black widow doesn't count cause it was impossible to bastardize.
Yet those neon blue lines are right there.
All of her costumes have suffered from either bad materials, bad fits, or bad detailing.
I seems inspired by Jack Kirby.
>it has this weird kind of techno viking aesthetic, like all old Norse shit reinterpreted through Tron 2 or something.
Like in the old Jack Kirby comics where Thor met High Evolutionary, Ego, Tana Nile.
Thor was pretty trippy in the past.
So is Vision really going to be made from J.A.R.V.I.S in the new movie? Am I the only one that finds that weird?
Deathlok comes to mind. Star Lord and Hawkeye look ok, but it's annoying to see Star Lord wear exactly the same costume now and Hawkeye to not have his mask anymore. If Star Lord wore his coat more often and Clint's trenchcoat were permanent they'd be GOAT.
I thought the first Deathlok suit was pretty crap but this one is a big improvement. I'd have to see Vision, SW, and QS in action to judge, they look okay from still shots and what little we've seen in motion.
