Full trailer leaked. This is not a drill.
>that goofy fucking voice
Aside from the fact that its obvious this will be shit, now we're just going to get more Bane style shitposting.
>Nothing but negative shit about Superman
>Dark, grey, depressing atmosphere
>Everyone in the fucking trailer has a BatBale voice
It's like WB doesn't even know what their characters are supposed to be like. I'm not so naive as to think we're going to have Worlds Finest Best Buddies Batman/Superman team-up, but could we at least have one fucking smile or moment of levity?
They'll get their shit together after the first fight I hope.
But yeah, I'm not hype for this really.
>There's nothing wrong with doing a dark take on a superhero, but it's been done to death,
Literally the only "dark takes" on Superheroes was Arguably Nolan Batman. Watchmen was already dark before the movie.
Literally the least interesting Batman related thing coming out in the next few years.
Can we talk about Adam West and Burt Ward reprising their roles in an animated feature instead?
Eh, I'll reserve judgement although my hope that WB dont't fuck up wanes.
>You are blocked from following @BenKuchera and viewing @BenKuchera's Tweets. Learn more
>but could we at least have one fucking smile or moment of levity?
Oh yeah man just like the Age of Ultron first teaser right
That was all smiles, let's forget about the fact that it opened with Ultron sadistically talking about mass death
>There's nothing wrong with doing a dark take on a superhero, but it's been done to death,
Doesn't seem like anyone has a problem with Daredevil being incredibly dark.
And it is literally the best MCU production so far.
There is a stark (no pun intended) difference there. The Ultron trailer was built around the villain of the movie and all the shit he was putting the heroes through, it makes sense that it's a dramatic trailer. If the BvS trailer had been centered around Luthor, I would be okay with a darker tone. Instead, we get like 2 minutes of Superman against various grey backgrounds and people saying depressing things.
>There's nothing wrong with doing a dark take on a superhero, but it's been done to death, and this trailer almost seems like it's a satirical take on the dour colors and overwhelming gloom of DC's movies.
refresh my memory, /co/. How many "dark takes" of superheroes were there? last I recalled there was just those last batman flicks.
It's nice to see how everybody here wants to be so special they all end up saying the same.
There's no way you don't get excited about this if you like either character.
And that complain about superhero gritty stuff being done to death is fucking stupid. Colorful superhero stuff has also been done to death since fucking superheroes have been done to death. The only thing left is to expect it to be a good, or at least entretaining movie, and you couldn't say that from a fucking 2 minute teaser that's mostly voiceovers.
If you think Superman should be dark and gritty and grey, that's your business. That isn't really what the character (to me, at least) represents and its definitely not in line with the general non-comic reading public's perception of it.
It'd be really badass if they did that, and then just opened it up to what the rest of the world would've looked like. With Metropolis, and down the line. With all the other DC characters.
>If you think Superman should be dark and gritty and grey,
Nowhere did I state that. I did state that the public perception of him as a character should be dark and gritty and grey. Superman himself is not shown to be doing any wrong in the trailer. And you're stating that WB has no perception of what their characters are like, so please enlighten me on how anything revealed in the trailer is out of character for Superman or Batman? Or is it just the same old blanket "it shouldn't be dark because the movies I grew up with weren't dark!"
The Nolan trilogy wasn't a dark take on Batman, that's just how Batman is. I wouldn't even call Man of Steel a dark take on Superman.
People who use "dark," "edgy and "gritty" as insults just have no real criticism and can only throw around buzzwords.
Well, I guess Superman fans turned out to be as whiny as WW fans.
I just hope for it to be better than MoS (which wasn't nearly as bad as people here say), and Superman will be better in it. I don't think it's gonna be pure batwank like people here say it's gonna be. But apparently, everybody's already decided to hate it.
I'm saying that the new Superman movie franchise should not be dark and depressing. MoS ended with buildings being toppled, people falling to their deaths, and now we get this. I doubt we will ever see Superman rescue kittens from trees or whatever on film ever again, but you would think they'd want to lighten things up a bit for their flagship superhero - the one superhero whose principles are actually more well known than the character himself.
But MOS shilled all that SuperJesus bullshit so hard (inherited from the Reeve and Singer films).
Now they're doing a 180?
Batman is fuckawesome though. I wish Snyder had rebooted Batman and another guy had done the Superman reboot, and this would be the third film.
>but you would think they'd want to lighten things up a bit for their flagship superhero - the one superhero whose principles are actually more well known than the character himself.
No, I don't. I think they'd want to preserve the character by keeping his purity and ideals of altruism for sure, but I see no reason for them to regurgitate the same stories as I experienced in my childhood with bigger budgets.
I guess you're right. To fit in, I should say I hate the lack of color on this trailer and on MoS. I don't mean everything needs to be bright, Nolan movies didn't seem so monotone to me without being all shiny and shit. It's a problem with many movies in the last 10 years or so, though.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I remember when the MoS trailer dropped I was so fucking hype. Fucking Russell Crowe and Supes breaking the sound barrier. Trailer 2 dropped and I was even more hype, based as fuck Costner and Supes going into orbit. And then the movie was just alright, great action scenes but that was about it, script was underwhelming.
I really believe they can knock this thing out of the park with BvS. I'm on the hype train and I aint getting off.
What are you talking about? The movie ends with the government keeping surveillance on Supes. He even takes down their drone from the sky and tells them to knock it off.
This movie is only building on previous events. In Man of Steel, Luthor's building is made a mess out of by Supes and Zod.
The people who keep saying "Man of Murder" are really silly because they were always building towards this.
BvS will be Supes redemption in the eyes of the world.
That scene where he's in the sun and the women is reaching for him is amazing.
Well, I guess that was a setup for the "fales god" thing then. We'll probably see the consequences of what happened in the first movie, and if this place was full of MAN OF MURDER faggots, I guess Metropolis would be full of them as well, since it actually happened there.
Yeah, man of Steel sure did end very dark. Superman didn't even smile.
>It's Luthor's anti-Superman propaganda.
I am annoyed that this isn't handled better in the trailer. I honestly wish they focused on this and left out the stare down which serves no fucking purpose for the narrative. They should have been smarter with this. I still have hope and feel like they choose he wrong thing to focus on in the trailer.
>tfw Batman sounds more menacing than Ultron
How could Marvel fuck up such a great villain so badly?
If it's good, fine. But the tone of MoS completely ruined the film - aside from the horrible acting, dull story, and boring action scenes. This trailer did not do its job of hyping me up well at all.
I'm convinced this entire movie is one big ruse on the audience. I doubt they really even have much of a physical fight and more a philosophical difference. Then they realize they're being played by Luthor and go beat up whatever his muscle is. They're just marketing it as Batman fighting Superman for 2 hours to get casuals hooked.
what's the matter /co/? i thought this was supposed to be a batman story primarily? what happened to that prediction? :^)
tone wasn't a bad thing about man of steel at all. an uneven script was its biggest pitfall.
>300 - Fucking awesome 9.5/10
>Watchmen - Very solid, really enjoyed it 8/10
>Man of Steel - Could have been much better, but overall not bad 6.5/10
>Sucker Punch - OH SHIT I TOTALLY FORGOT HE DIRECTED THIS ABOMINATION
Please God for the love of all that is holy don't let this be another fucking Sucker Punch.
>talking in his first appearance
>Doomsday being the second supervillain Superman faces
terrible theory anon
I hope you have a bad dream tonight
I can't fucking wait to see how Batfleck works out. I'm actually really optimistic about it. I think he can pull of a good Bruce Wayne, and I really think he can pull of a great Batman, especially with his physical size.
gunna b gud
>And neither did Goyer, which can't be stressed enough.
This post needs to be stickied on /co/. Every goddamn person forcing the "man of murder" meme forgets that it was Goyer's fault.
The director's cut of Sucker Punch isn't nearly as bad.
Except Daredevil has been incredibly dark since the 80's. That's not a new thing.
It's like saying Punisher or Constantine being dark is new.
The problem is if you take Captain America and make him more like the Punisher. That's why everyone hated Ultimate Cap so much in fact.
It's a teaser, not a proper trailer. I can't name any movies, but TV shows do that shit all the time when they show clips for next week's episode. There's always some misleading line or clip that misdirects the viewer.
So what is the line between "dark" and "serious"? Because Superman is a serious character. He's always in serious, deep arcs that involve coping with loss, rising above impossible odds, etc.
At some point I honestly think the filter of MoS has made everyone think it's "grittier" than it actually is.
It's because DC's longer history and more iconic characters make the kids think it's the old, top-dog and Marvel is the new underdog class. None of them realize Marvel has been dominating for half a century now.
I'm sorry you've never read a Superman comic and think he's a zany goofball who's always jokin around and pumping out the one-liners, but that's simply not how Superman is almost ever portrayed, nor should it be. Superman cracking a joke is rare, which makes it more impactful. Serious doesn't, however, mean broody, or mad, or sad. He's serious and happy.
All the time. I'm pretty sure the trailer for the last X-Men movie used so many random jumbled up clips spliced together you could tell they were coming from different conversations from the tone of voice constantly changing
Sounds good. So why is this trailer brooding, angry, and sullen and not serious and happy?
Why wasn't he in Man Of Steel? Why is he throwing power line poles into people's trucks?
I've seen 3 trailers recently, one for Ant-Man, one for Age of Ultron, one for Star Wars.
All 3 of those were hype. This showed a dark city and the return of BATMONSTER voice. No hype from me.
I'm starting to think some people don't want to watch dark and depressing superhero movies. They want feel good popcorn fluff like most Marvel movies. Not saying Marvel is bad by the way. I like their movies.
There's what people want to see, and what they get.
People wanted to see Superman and be reminded of the golden age of America and feel emotionally uplifted. Fleischer with modern effects and action, a lead-in to Justice League.
Instead, they got what's basically dramatized 9/11 and some really dark subject matter along with a lot of symbolism making it an odd tasteless Michael Bay meets Stanley Kubrick vibe. It leaves a really bad taste in the mouth from that level of difference.
No matter how internet jokes go, it still is true that Americans look at reminders of 9/11 in a very sober, and angry way. Still a very traumatized people in that regard.
It's a lot like Lady In The Water. Not a terrible movie, but you go into it expecting fucked up horror and instead get a somewhat comedic slice of life story involving aliens and come out of the theater pissed off because you feel cheated. Plus, you know, holocaust references I guess would be the parable.
This will definitely be the best looking comic book film in years, the marvel movies have suffered from a lack of visual flair, everything in them feels flat and intangible. Just that shot of Superman landing with a splash makes it feel real in a really cool way.
No, a whole city covered in ash as buildings come down is what first comes to mind when recalling that tragedy.
I mean, it would be harder to channel it intentionally than they did by mistake.
People went and saw the Dark Knight, with that stupid edgy Heath Ledger joker, and it was a big financial gain.
So they figured they'd make Superman stupid and edgy too for the same faggy twelve year olds that liked Dark Knight.
Now it looks like they're still digging themselves in even deeper with this shit.
>Cap VS Ironman
>Batman VS Superman
So basically, we get the third shittiest thing about the comicbook industry as our next wave of superhero movies.
Great. Can't wait for them to do clones, then "universe ends so we can fix canon and go back to #1 on everything" to happen after that.
Oh well. At least there's Mothra and Godzilla beating the shit out of Ghidorah to look forward to.
Superman is with the ICP?
Did WB see Chappie and decide "Yeah, we need some batshit fucking insane trashy rappers to sell this."
>everyone whining about it being too dark
>while simultaneously raving about Marvel's darkest live action production
Maybe people want super hero movies to be about super heroes, doing heroic things
Captain America 2 was about a accountable global defense organization trying to establish an overreaching surveillance state and slipping towards becoming dangerously unaccountable to the people, and a fallen friend of a hero returning as a soulless assassin. People like that movie.
Superman feels guilt about the destruction he caused. Luthor tells him he isn't the only super powered thing out there. Says he needs to help him register all "heroes". Batman is against the idea and they clash.
Holy shit, the real villain confirmed.
No, don't you understand? The real villain is actually mankind.
You see, we're the inferior clones of Kryptonians brought here by the mother Kara, who were the master race that were fated to die out because reasons. That's why human-dad was wrong, he was an inferior breed. Krypton dad was right, we need to put our faith in the last true Kryptonian and become just like them.
But two wicked humans have lead man astray due to their simple minds. Krypton Jesus has to defeat them both, lending his forgiveness to the one with the superior chin, in order to prove to mankind that only by praising Science and be-necking those who insult Krypton can we achieve perfection.
Once Krypton Jesus reproduces with the daughter of the Amazons, the direct descendants of mother Kara, we will have our line of living gods to follow.
That Superman is involved in so many alternate stories where he's seen as a major threat by other heroes and set up as a possible evil-doer while Batman created an AI which eventually went rogue and tried to murder everyone in mainline continuity - twice - will always make me laugh.
>Not understanding that the whole reason BvS is so packed with characters is because Marvel forced their hand with The Avengers.
>Not understanding that the reason this trailer is being dropped now is to try and derail the AoU hype train.
DC has had their first DCCU movie out with Man of Steel. Now they're jumping right into the crossover that introduces Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg. I mean do people honestly think this movie won't be either A. Too long or B. A complete mess?
Say the movie is 2hr and 30min (run time of both Avengers movies) including credits. That's 150 min
-10 for the credits is 140.
Batman's intro is around 20 min
Wonder Woman is around 20 min
Superman reestablishing after MoS is around 20.
There is the first hour. Now you have one hour and twenty minutes left.
Let's put 20 on Lex so he has some motivation and backstory, not including his actual plot in action, 15 on the fight between Batman and Superman, 25 on the climax fight, and another 20 giving Gal Godot and Jason Momoa their paychecks. That leaves 20 minutes to actually do a plot to the story. That is unless you under develop the characters and push story first.
Either way it will be shit.
Everyone is raging about this trailer being batman-centric, but it kinda has to happen.
Batman's the hero being introduced.
Even if DC wanks him all the time, he needs to be properly introduced into the story and universe.
I don't like batman circlejerks but this is a stupid thing to criticize when the movie is about two people fighting with one already being established.
I agree with Thor 1 but man on rewatch that second movie is really, really not good.
But in regards to what that guy was saying, Thor 2 doesn't do anything to the overall continuity anyway. "Loki is Odin" isn't going to mean anything until Thor 3.
MOS was a big mistake but they've doubled down on it and used it as the basis for their entire DC-verse they're trying to do.
Superman created similar robots, it's just that Superman doesn't believe robots have souls and thus keeps his slaves in constant fear of death.
That's what you get for not being superior Kryptonian-style Atheismoian.
No, they were complete and utter shit and I feel bad about wasting my time with them. I am being fair, I legitimately did not enjoy either Thor movie whatsoever. Of the movies in the list Iron Man 3 is the closest to not being garbage.
No, because those movies don't ruin the plots of future movies. The people at Marvel know what they're doing. Thor 1 wasn't a good movie, but it didn't shit all over the character or the canon.
Eh, I just kinda zone out when Portman is in a scene, so I may be biased in favor of it.
Fuck it. Thor 3, Thor fights the rock men from outer space while pretending to be a doctor. We'll go all the way back to the roots here.
But it's Superman centric. The entire trailer is about Superman and his implications for humanity. Batman is the character through which we're seeing the story, yeah, but Superman is the heart of the story itself.
I always love seeing dumb fags spend so much time writing about something you hate. It is kind of pathetic.
Really? Iron Man 3 better than Thor 1?
Eh, opinions I guess. IM3 felt way too forced for me, like a pre-Iron Man 1 superhero movie. Thor 1 felt like what Green Lantern could have been had it made fewer mistakes.
Man of Steel doesn't even come close to ruining the plots of future DC movies. In fact its shortcomings may even make future plots more engaging, if this BvS trailer is something to go by.
>People being mad about the anti-Superman parts
I like it. It's something for Superman to overcome that he can't just punch - he's going to prove to people that he's here to help. It's just another interesting obstacle to overcome. He's new to the hero thing and the odds are stacked against him, it's cool and fun.
Eh, the non-Batman parts felt like public opinion is polarizing.
I mean, yes, they did write "false god" on his statue but remember, they build a giant statue of Superman.
If I'd take a stab, I'd guess that Superman becomes the beacon of hope at the end of the movie where he finally proves himself. I actually feel like the movie's going to go for a more hopeful tone. Or at least feel like it since I can actually see color in the trailer.
It's all on how you present the story.
In Avengers, they're portrayed as winning and ultimately only a few buildings got wrecked.
In MoS, it's a LOT more bleak. You can say in-story that more people died in the something-alien invasion than the dubstep machine but Avengers New York ended looking mostly okay while Metropolis looked like the future in Terminator 1.
You just end up seeing it as "Superman failed and people died" and "Avengers beat the bad guy".
I'm saying the fault is with the directing in MoS.
The ending is clearly going to be Superman's "I'm not your savior" speech from Secret Origin, but after he's teamed up with Batman and WW to fight whatever villain Luthor has thrown out at them.
Maybe Metallo - Goyer did say he liked a lot of stuff from Secret Origin, maybe some of it got left out of MoS to be used in later movies.
no, you're right, you don't need 20 minutes to introduce a character if it's a one movie thing that you will never see again. If this is the launching point of their franchise however and you want the audience to give a shit about them you should devote a little time so the audience can get to know them. Each Marvel solo movie devotes around 20 minutes letting you get to know the character. Did we need to see Steve standing up to the guy in the movie theater? No but it was there anyway. Did we need to see Stark blow off the awards to go gamble? No but it illustrated his character. I mean you can spend 5 minutes like "This is Wonder Woman, say hi kids" and then wonder why you're supposed to give two shits about her for the rest of the movie or you can invest in the characters early on.
To be fair I wouldn't mind sitting through a 3 hour movie if it actually developed characters beyond "Here they are, bask in their glory"
Well, he didn't destroy Metropolis but that's besides the point. In universe, it does set Superman up as a figure of controversy (literally the first line of the trailer). What's wrong with that?
>Clearly you've never made an omelet
Pic related is the problem.
When they announced Spader I knew what was coming. I fully expected Robert California as a killer robot. Nothing else should have been expected. Spader just does different variations of sinister on the same character.
Sorry but how exactly did this trailer portray Superman as a villain? It is talking about public perspective about him WHICH PEOPLE ON /co/ CONSTNATLY BITCHED ABOUT AND SAID THAT EVERYONE WOULD HATE HIM AFTER MOS
IS THAT NOT WHAT YOU WANTED? IT IS LITERALLY WHAT /co/ SAID IT SHOULD BE LIKE
Bullshit. Did we see 20 minutes of Hawkeye in Thor? 20 minutes of Black Widow in Iron Man? Hell, we didn't even get 20 minutes of Coulson or Nick Fury. Hannibal Lecter isn't even in Silence of the Lambs for 20 minutes (it's about 16, if I remember right), or Godzilla in the original Godzilla movie. 20 minutes is a fucking long time.
The "demons from the sky" quote? That's Eisenberg.
Not even remotely. There isn't a single moment where Superman is portrayed as a malevolent being in the trailer. The one clear shot we get of his face is of him looking distraught over the attention drawn to him. Batman and the world's stance on things are also entirely understandable given Man of Steel's ending.
If the trailer didn't start off this way, you'd all be complaining that it acts like Man of Steel's destruction had no consequence.
Even Daredevil, which many people are comparing ever superhero thing to right now, had more light than this. And his angry voice didn't sound like he gargled a box of nails after smoking 80 packs a day for 50 years.
Nope. Just wishful thinking. A lot of Star Wars rumor sites swore up and down that the first spinoff movie was going to be either Han or Boba Fett, they had all kinds of sources and all kinds of "informed" speculation...
Then Rogue One is announced and it turns out to not have anything to do with Han or Boba.
Okay, listen. I'm not in denial. If its batman it is 3edgy5me, but a lot of robotic characters exist. It could be power suit lex, it could be metallo, etc. Even if it is batman, a voice mod in a power suit isn't unreasonable.
>If the trailer didn't start off this way, you'd all be complaining that it acts like Man of Steel's destruction had no consequence.
Half you people are just being contriaian for the sake of it.
Thor had Hawkeye's scenes cut in after the fact. You can tell his scenes were shot in reshoots considering he has no screentime with anyone.
There was definitely at least 20 min of Widow in Iron Man 2. She was a major part of the plot both under cover within Stark Industries and as Black Widow. No, Godzilla isn't in the movie for 20 minutes but we do get more than 20 minutes of character development, same as Hannibal Lecter. I will give you that Coulson and Fury are under developed though. I would like more of Fury in the movies.
But this is /co/, you aren't allowed to post here unless you have someone you hate and blame for everything being bad, which it is.
So what's yours? Jews? Blacks? Women? Tumblr? DCfags/Marveldrones? Comicbook readers? Cartoon watchers? Horse/mineral fuckers? Monstergirl lovers?
What the fuck are you talking about, WHAT THE FUCK? RIGHT THERE IN THE TRAILER IT SHOWS HIM WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE IN SOME SORT OF DANGER AND HIM ALSO HOLDING SOME GIANT SHIT, CHUNK OF METAL OR A ROBOT HAND OR WHATEVER!
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
>Talked to a girl
>Saved love interest
>Obtained a secret identity
>Fought to stop a villain he's responsible for
Not exactly doing anything the average protagonist wouldn't do.
Nothing here really says "Superman".
Jesus. Halo is a superhero series now? And the fucking Andromeda Strain is a Crichton novel.
How are either of those remotely connected to superheroes at all?
inb4 i was just trolling sucha good troll lol
So is that voice at the end Batman's? I'm guessing he's using a voice changer effect to keep his identity safe, or maybe it's just for that particular suit, its better than the Bale growl that's for sure.
>mfw Kevin Smith predicted the voice changer
"A contest: Superman and Batman compete to see how many people they can save in one day. The judge is of course Jimmy Olsen."
Same as Superman II, and yet for some reason that movie screams Superman.
Nah, Superman is, at his core, the concept of the ultimate altruist. That's exactly what this Superman is, in this universe.
What's the logo on this thing? Can't identify it as any DC easter egg.
Tell me what would have happened had he not decided to violate his government's authority and explored a fucking alien spaceship in the ice in a military zone.
Not a fucking thing.
Are there people who honestly prefer silver age to good comics and amazing arcs of 80's till today?
A year ago I bought 75 years of Batman and it got me interested in more silver age stuff, so I read good chunk for some time and while it was FUN, it was absolutely nowhere near as good as what is considered a good comic today.
Basically I can't understand how anyone could want their movies to be more like silver age, even comedy is more solid today, I mean people says that GotG is great but it feels like a modern comic with a comedy feel to it rather than silver age.
>Violate his government's authority
Fuck their authority, my boy was curious about what planet he came from.
Beating Zod only got him prepared for the tons of threats to Earth that will undoubtedly come in the future.
Tell me what the plot to that movie has to do with the plot to Man of Steel.
How did he know it was Kryptonian?
What gave him the authority?
Am I justified to break into a military containment site because I thought maybe there's some shit from people who may have had ethnic ties to my ancestors in it?
Are you defending hooliganism and even citing it as character-building?
That movie's given a free pass by everyone
>Am I justified to break into a military containment site because I thought maybe there's some shit from people who may have had ethnic ties to my ancestors in it?
When you're an alien who may control the fate of the world with your hands, yeah
Because nothing attracts newfags like an unpopular cause to defend without using logic or real arguments.
It's part of their transition from tumblr to /b/. /co/ is just the stepping stone.
>That movie's given a free pass by everyone
So's the shitfest that's Spiderman 2, doesn't make it relevant when discussing what Marvel does with Spiderman now he's back in their stables.
>When you're an alien who may control the fate of the world with your hands, yeah
He knew nothing except he's an alien, and the government found an alien ship.
That's it. No destiny, no threat, nothing.
Just his own self-entitlement and disregard for the rule of law.
I really don't see what that has to do with you taking that bait so hard
He didn't even know it was a Kryptonian ship. He knew the gub'ment found alien wreckage, and felt that as an alien that meant it was his god-given right under some amendment probably that it belonged to him and anyone who got in his way would get what that dirty hippie trucker got.
There's nothing left about MoS, defense or critique, that isn't ridiculous anymore.
Your position is a meme no matter what it is unless it's shrugging and going "Shut the fuck up, I'm sick of hearing this shit, fuck off and die".
I love it when anti-MoS fags have this perfect image of Superman in their heads that doesn't exist anywhere else.
Just by being Superman the character is showing a disregard for the law. The character was created by a pair of Jews who wanted a strong man to subvert the status quo.
Because DCdrones can't enjoy anything.
So instead they'll bitch and piss and moan that their husbando is being shit on, then pop into Marvel movie threads and piss off Marveldrones and the people sane enough to enjoy everything.
Fuck all of you amateur troll pieces of cheek-checked shit, it's storytime of a good Batman/Superman conflict you cunts.
/tv/ moved in and they don't actually read comics, much like a lot of people on this board. They just pull shit off a Wikipedia or what they saw in cartoon/movie/tv show as fact. I thought that was obvious. Also, since /tv/ and the general tumblr crowd moved in, Marvel is king because they get pandered to.
still a better supes costume than anything we have had since 52 hit
It's going to be hilarious when this shit flops. Once again confirming why the man-children who still watch DC movies are barely more than marginalized caricatures of themselves. But instead of admitting you've become the most beta of betas, you'll complain for years how "good it was" and how "tasteless" the general public is in desperate attempts to try and divert away the soul crushing realization that you've wasted your lives on mind-numbing drivel originally designed to entertain teenage boys.
Now shut the fuck up and go talk about Star Wars.
the truest representation of superman I've ever seen
I can see, they had a hard time deciding which scenes would get into this way too early trailer, because there still should be some post production work and in darker scenes you notice less the unfinished cgi, I like the dark tone, fuck that campy shit we already got for decades, you don´t need high budge cgi for superman saving a cat, ain´t gonna pay money to see superman saving a cat either, and I doubt its gonna be all dark like the trailer implies, I mean, it just isn´t gonna have the massive amount of one liner jokes like the avengers movie, which weren´t even funny.
It'll be shit and it'll make a fucking mint on name recognition alone. Goyer will continue to be drunk on undeserved success and the fact that the movies are shit won't catch up them until the Justice League sequel at which time the studio will blame it on the cape movie bubble just bursting on its own.
who would play in such a cringeworthy silly movie?
>starring Adam Sandler as Batman, Jason Seagel as Superman
>and Kevin James as Jimmy Olsen
I feel like Snyder is going under the m night shyamalan effect. He made a good movie so now studios think, namely WB, can give him a blank check and let him do what he wants without anyone questioning him.
This dark griddy DC Universe isn't fun. I don't know why they think they can keep trying the same thing thinking it'll work. I want this to bomb so they can get it through their heads.
I know it won't bomb financially, but review wise, yes I hope it gets terrible reviews.
Then again, to WB, as long as they come out even, it's a win and they'll do it again. Look at what they do with Michael Bay, as long as it makes money, it's a win.
>all this shitposting,bait and falseflaging
I'm a marvelfag and I think the trailer is very good, much better than the avengers what the fuck is grong with all of you this entire thread is ridiculous.
well, you can guess what is going on, people are not following and admiring superman for only saving them from Zodd, he is obviously still saving people (which is what /co/ wanted in the first place) but things are getting out of hand and admiration is turning into fanaticism and this is bad or atleast that is what you get from Luthors point of view, he thinks its bad and that superman is a false god and superman himself isn´t happy about being called a god either.
Overall this is a great idea and what you´d expect what happens when an human like alien who is also powerfull and indestructible who tries to do good and fit in. People accepting such being like a hero without any splitted opinions was always silly and works really only in campy comics.
How does this set up anything for Justice League? Where does this fit into the timeline at all? It's clear they were going to adapt Dark Knight Returns into a movie but then Avengers knocks it out of the park and WB rewrote everything to build a universe. It's so clear that it's a half ass attempt.
I really liked that. Bats sounds menacing, Alfred's monologue was a bit scary but nicely written and they're tackling MoS's crap head-on, which is good. It LOOKED better too, which is very important.
Cautiously hype since I know Snyder's better at trailers than actual movies.
Just gotta say, we really can't argue completely about colours given it's a camera video from the cinema.
Plus you've got several shots of Superman saving people, isn't that what /co/ wanted more out of Superman?
What part of you is having trouble understanding that 'trailer' =/= 'the entire fucking movie'?
>Superman needs to be perfect and flawless before his sheeple fans will be happy.
but that is how he is gonna be in the movie and thats why people are starting to worship him, there is even a statue of him. What supe-fags want is campyness of his earlier comics which doesn´t translate well to the big screen, it´d be cringeworthy as fuck.
No, the point of a trailer is to excite the audience into seeing the movie, to make us want to go see it, which this fails to do, at least for me.
Take Ant Man from example, they had the first trailer be serious and people criticized it, then the 2nd trailer was funny and made people rethink their stance on the movie. Same thing with the new Star Wars trailer today, makes me excited for the movie. This does not because as we saw with MoS, this tone that they're going for isn't good.
based snyder sticking to the freaks
only plebs dislike MOS one of the best superhero movies ever made, dat direction, dat cgi, dat comic book feel, MOS sure as fuck does not feel like a episode of a tv show like so many other superhero movies feel
>SNYDER DOUBTERS BTFO
I hope Batman kicks that alien nigger's jaw in.
>People ONLY care about Star Wars
"I just watched this one trailer. Oh, BvS trailer leaked? Sorry I already watched Star Wars today so I won't watch it"
Is that how you think people think?
I just... I just wish I had it in me to care about Spider Man anymore. I really, I really, really wish I did. I want to like him so badly. I want to enjoy his character, I want to read his ongoings, I want SO MUCH to say 'Man Spider Man is cool, you should read it!' and I just... can't.
I can't do it anymore.
more people in the world know about batman and superman, and more people in the world are interested in seeing batman and superman, than star wars, domestically sw can take it, but internationally bvs has it in the bag
Mfw so many superhero movies for 2015 and 2016
Mfw so many characters will be raped and ruined by shitty movies
>Is Superman eval?
>Shots of Batman standing around
>Shots of Superman floating about
I don't like when trailers show too much, but there is a difference between too much and literally nothing.
Except it's not Batman and Superman anymore, it's Wonder Woman and Aquaman and god knows who else they can shove into the movie. Batman and Superman are in the backseat now because this is suppose to be a launching platform for Justice League and viewing Synder's track record, it'll be dark and depressing. I'm sorry but I'm one of those Superman fans that actually likes his Superman to be hopeful and happy.
Look at who's making this and their previous movies and that should say plenty.
No, Batman and Superman are still in the front seat. Just look at the name.
Also basing on the previous movies, more specifically Man of Steel, this will be a good movie.
Say what you will about Marvel but they know what they're doing. They're making movies aimed at families as well as adults and everyone. DC seems to be stuck in that high school emo phase where everything has to be black and grey and no sign of hope. Just look at the BvS trailer.
This is why Marvel movies do so well in box office because everyone can enjoy them while DC movies, not so much.
I remember when it was DCasuals.
I feel the warp overtaking me.
It is a good pain
yup, the batman movies alone kill star wars internationally, that's what I sad in the first place, more people in the world know who batman is over anything from star wars, mr kek meme man, no amount of keks or memes can change that
1. You're talking about Nolan's Batman
2. Superman is box office cancer
3. Even after two of the worst movies ever Star Wars still pulled in 800M
Star Wars is gonna break 1B without even breaking a sweat and BVS is gonna max out at 6, maybe 700M.
>Everyone in the trailer has a BatBale voice?
How fucking so?
All the actors just sound like themselves (and their lines are fucking awesome if I do say so myself)? And Batfleck has a voice modulator, similar to Arrow, which just deepens and distorts his voice. Stop picking holes in something just because it's not a witty, quippy Marvel trailer.
>All these DCfags trying to defend the trailer
Guys, I'm a DCfag too and I'm sick of all this dark and gritty stuff thanks to Snyder and Nolan. It's okay to admit it, just because you're a fan doesn't mean you have to follow it blindly.
I'm talking about batman and superman as characters, they are the two most famous fictional characters in the world, star wars will do good, but bvs will do just as good, I think sw will take more in the usa but bvs will catch up in international
I mean, i still find it sad that they had to go for the edgy interpretation of Superman scaring the masses because he's a god-like being and all, but that doesn't mean it can't make for an interesting story
Now i'm more worried about how characters like WW and Aquaman are going to fit in this
