Don't screw up the OP.
THE CIVIL WAR HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED. CHOOSE A SIDE.
SCREW YOU OTHER STRAWPOLL, YOU CAN'T JUST ADD A USELESS THIRD OPTION AND GET AWAY WITH IT. EVERYONE'S TEAM BILL AT HEART ANYWAY.
WHAT IS BILL'S FINARU FORMU
Just got back from watching the episode.
>People actually rooting for anything Ford does
>HEY KID LOOK AT THIS GLASS THAT CRACKS WHEN I TOUCH IT
Fuck my flustered ass, I forgot to add the (720p) marker to the download link.
"Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future" Download (720p):
Once the 1080p version is released, please add it to the next version of the OP, along with an updated link to TMoGF's copy of the teaser when it's uploaded.
>YFW the endless summer bit was just an opening for Alex to extend to a third season
>he wrote the ending of this episode to be Bill tricking Mable when he made up his mind about not doing it
>tfw you hate none of the characters and understand them all
>Let me just fucking give away someone else's personal property without asking them about it solely to fulfill my own personal desires.
Yes it's shit that they never told her about the rift but Mabel's a selfish punk who's only interest is own her personal satisfaction. Ford and Dipper have both done some cunt things themselves but at least they're pursuing knowledge. All Mabel has ever been interested is dick and not growing up.
Holy fuck I finished watching the episode 30 minutes ago and I'm still hysterical as fuck.
The credits scene was dark as fuck, just hearing the chaos without showing it was so clever. The animation as always is top fucking notch in that scene too like wow. If Alex Hirsch can end this series right Gravity Falls rightly deserves to be called one of the greatest cartoons of all time, or at least this decade. Not many cartoons know how to go all out like this and execute it so well. Jesus fuck.
>mfw the possibility that Mabel will never be Mabel again
And then she grew up
WE NEED THE EMPEROR'S FINEST
I get the feeling that it didn't and it will not happen. Mabel just run off the shack after a not so good dialogue with Dipper. They didn't fight and probably will not and I'm good with it.
>tfw i decoded pic related
>tfw i don't want to tell anyone the actual message
OH BOY YOU BETTER STOP READING THIS THREAD
IT FUCKING GETS REAL GET YOUR BALLS READY FAM HOLY FUCK THE LAST EPISODE WAS OFF THE RAILS!!!
Getting real for a sec here a lot of you guys just have a hateboner for Mabel. You hated her way before this episode.
She's a little girl who got upset after having a very rough day.
She and Dipper both thought they could trust Blendin. And she thought the globe was just a toy.
If Ford had been honest with everyone about the rift, about how dangerous Bill was, not to mention it's his fault that Bill built the portal through him in the first place, none of this would have happened.
Ford made infinitely more mistakes over a much longer time despite being a "genius" and an adult.
Hateboners aside no, this was much more Ford's fault.
It's not that I dislike it or anything. I just... I don't know. I usually need some swearing or tits because I'm pathetic. It's fun and creative and it's actually got some decent horror elements.
>Alex "Someone important is gonna die" Hirsch
>A shooting star may fall
>Can she wake up?
Is Mabel ded?
I don't know if this is intentional but that's actually a really good acknowledgement of Grunkle Stan's influence on the twins, that Mabel ends up going through on this act of theft. It makes sense that after treating Stan's crimes so lightly all summer she's willing to commit them herself.
>told they wouldn't miss it by someone she trusted
yea because she totally remembered blendin's name and ignored the fact that he almost wished her and dipper out of existence. because he is sooooooooo damn trustworthy
Who TEAM BILL here?
>tfw seeing mabel defense squad tiers
Science always wins.
The composer for Gravity Falls is out sick, and Alex "IS A HACK" Hirsch has chosen YOU to pick Bill Cipher's boss fight theme. It can be from any game you choose, there aren't any restrictions.
What do you pick?
honestly pic related's theme would work okay
hardmode: no final boss themes
Holy christ, I can't wait to see what role the town (and Gideon) plays based on the trailer
>OCTOBER 26TH YO
i bet the people who are ragging hard on mabel here have never had moms
my mom got like this all the time, when she had days where her friends couldnt be with her or she was worried about family leaving her.
that's why /co/ is fun. the fandom adds in all the tits and swears and really clever fanart
but catch up first, dude. do it.
Being too trusting is a long established character flaw of hers that was never resolved because she ended up helping out Blendin and so believed he was grateful and on their side.
Also, Stan is the one who reactivated the portal, thus creating the rift. I don't see anyone blaming him for that, so why blame Mabel when she's a vulnerable child who got tricked?
I WANT TO BE HIS SLAVE FOR ALL ETERNITY
stan and ford have nothing to disagree about. stan briefly wanted to sabotage ford, but he didnt go through with it. the fact that it happened anyway notwithstanding.. everything else beyond that was understandable misunderstanding
She can only be awakened by
True Love's Kiss
Bill is doing something with her that even Blendin is scared of, is she being written out of time??? Later in the promo it shows the pink glow around a black pyramid above the sky, I think she was taken inside it!
The way Bill got the rift seemed very lazy and rushed in the end.
>Mabel: "I wish summer would never end..."
>Blendin: "Oh hi Mabel, It's me, Blendin! I just happened to JUST overhear what you were saying while traveling the entire space time continuum. I can help you but only if you give me that one thing I want!"
Mabel: "Weeelllll.....OKAY! What could go wrong!"
Bill: "IT WAS ME! IT WAS ME, ALL ALONG!!!"
Mabel: "How did I not see this one coming?!?"
Seems very lazy way for the apocalypse to happen.
> TEAM UP WITH ME. INCREASING MY POWER IS EASY AND ANYONE CAN DO IT! JUST DRAW MY FORM ANYWHERE IN YOUR HUMAN WORLD- EACH IMAGE OF ME ACTS A PEEPHOLE FROM MY DIMENSION TO YOURS. THE MORE I SEE, THE MORE I KNOW. THE MORE I KNOW, THE GREATER MY POWER. THE GREATER MY POWER, THE MORE ENEMIES OF YOURS I CAN CRUSH. JUST SHAKE MY HAND.
I just want to shake his hand.
samefagging here, but i just realized the phase 1 theme for magolor would fit way better
Nice going suckers, supporting the side that wants to save the world by sacrificing you brother/sister.
Instead of the side that wants to reconcile them and made them fight together.
You will be sorry you choose Ford.
Because Stand didn't destroy Ford's protect, it was BILL/BLENDIN
>tfw no stan/ford confrontation
>tfw it'll be a rushed make up in the end
bill already said he'd be watching them which means he saw everything unfold and when the timing was right he went and possessed blendin and brought him to the current time to trick mabel. use your imagination you dullard
>>Let me just fucking give away someone else's personal property without asking them about it solely to fulfill my own personal desires.
Yes, Dipper IS shit, but we're not talking about him right now.
isnt it four?
at this point, what could follow it? a third season would be half as long as 1 and 2 were (unless it wasn't) so it couldnt build as much of a story
it just had fucking weird pacing
Literally fucking never.
Of course Mabelfags will rush in to defend her by giving shoddy examples, but every single one of those times she had to have some sense talked into her.
>Giving Bill the journal until he accidentally reminded her Dipper would give up everything for her
>Letting the boy band go after realizing what a cunt she had been to them and her friends
nah, I didn't grow up with cable for SP and I can't really stand mcfarlane stuff. venture brothers, s1-3 archer, and r&m do it for me I guess. Over the garden wall was alright, wish it had a little more teeth.
really though what I like is horror. Used to watch some jap horror animus but I wish there were more western content. GF is surprisingly horrific, so I started watching getting into it after the convenience store episode. kind of same reason I used to watch old scooby doo.
I don't know why I'm writing this blog entry. I can't seem to stop.
You're doing stuff wrong. Dipper and Mabel are Ford and Ley as KIDS. Who they're around influences them to be different people.
Which is why Dipper and Mabel are, well, better people.
The exact same thing could be said for Dipper learning lessons. It's a fucking kids show, the heroes always have some flaw which they reflect on at the end after doing the right thing.
Mabel did make mistakes, but seeing her as being as culpable as Ford is stupid. We're not talking Mabel vs. Dipper here, but Mabel vs. Ford. And Ford is far more selfish. He literally gives no shits for anything but his own ego. Stan, Fiddleford could tell you about that. That doesn't mean he's not an interesting character here but he's more to blame than anyone.
>Implying there's gonna be one
Stan will realize he doesn't need Ford once he sees how he manipulated Dipper. Ford will always be mad, and Stan will finally let go.
You love family but they won't always love you back. Confrontation never ends up happening because you keep trying to make up, until you stop.
I feel like this episode tried to tackle too much and dropped a bunch of shit instead of letting it progress gradually (they easily could've swapped out Roadside Attraction/Stanchurian Candidate for something else like more Dipper/Ford interactions), I think they could've executed the Mabel thing a lot better and Blendin appearing out of fucking nowhere is jarring.
What did Gideon summon Bill to do while he was in prison?
I wonder if the Elder Gods or whoever Bill's friends are will literally throw a giant party, and it won't just be your average end-of-the-world chaos and calamity.
Like, I wanna see DJ K-2-L∞ rocking the turntable.
We still have more to see from Blendin's body.
These will either be in one episode, or spread across. Second one here http://i.imgur.com/Ow67qPv.jpg
it is literally happening right now
>What did Gideon summon Bill to do while he was in prison?
Since Gideon appears in the teaser, I suspect that will be answered in the next episode.
Possessing Blendin might also be a requirement for breaking Gideon out of prison, if that was Bill's side of the deal with him. A time traveller with a high tech camouflage sneak suit is probably your best bet for breaking a guy out of a high security prison.
The minute Blendin showed up and started talking to Mabel about an infinite summer and it became clear Mabel was going to give him the thing, I though "/gfg/ is going to say this is all Mabel's fault aren't they?"
Oh, how right I was.
goddammit Mabel, you stupid retard.
I bet you $20 dollars
The twins won't go back to GF simply because Stan will move elsewhere instead.
Ford is going to wait for Dipper to take him up on the offer, but he never will. He'll be old and tarnished and eventually read about Soos' and Dipper indie youtube webseries about ghost hunting and only then realize that the world went by without him.
Hypothetically, if he wasn't Bill, maybe he saw that Dipper and Mable had a falling out after the summer, so he went back in time to offer her a chance to extend summer so that she could have more than a week to come to terms with her brother leaving. If that were that case, appearing before her right then would have been the best time to do it.
Of course, it's a moot point, since he was just Bill.
Is anyone else mildly concerned that Mabel willing made a decision to pursue a literally infinite summer which would have resulted in her never seeing her parents again?
I mean it's one thing to wist about things ending and wishing for more time but as far as Mabel knew she was being offered an actual, never ending summer born from time travel fuckery in Gravity Falls for ever, and her never returning to her parents isn't even brought up.
Stan doesn't know about Bill, he very conspicuously is the only one among Dipper, Mabel, Ford, and Soos who hasn't interacted with Bill. He apparently isn't the one to get possessed for the rift. So what's going to happen? They have to meet eventually, and I have a feeling it's going to be very significant somehow.
Is not a good time to get back into gravity falls? I think the last episode I saw was about time traveling to get mabel a pig I think? I heard that a new season started and that people we're really liking it.
I know there's an angry triangle named bill and another uncle stan for some reason because of various passing blogposts I see sometime so I think im spoiled a bit. If I wanted to catch up though what would be a good point to start at? The only episode I really remember is the pig one though, so I was thinking about starting all the way over.
If she told you to destroy the world, would you do it?
Better yet, why didn't Bill convince Stan to give him the rift while Stan was desperately trying to get Ford back? It seemed like the perfect opportunity to trick Stan into ending the world.
I've been out of the loop for a good while, haven't been keeping up with Gravity Falls, only just caught up yesterday. Seeing as how I haven't been watching promos or trailers or following any news, I was a bit surprised to tune into tonight's episode and see IT'S HAPPENING already.
So I was wondering, are these next few episodes meant to be the end of Gravity Falls? I didn't see any confirmations for a third season. Any word from Alex or Disney about this being the final battle for real? I - I'm not ready for it to end, guys.
>summoned Bill despite huge warning not too
>trusted him like a gullible sap because he says nice things to you
>lies to/conceals shit from Fiddleford
>continues to keep shit from his family for no reason
>almost gets Dipper killed
Gee I wonder.
I don't particularly like Mabel or particularly hate Ford but it's clear who's most at fault.
>yfw Stanley is the one to defeat Bill
>but he has to sacrifice himself and dies a fiery death
He totally does
Note that I didn't say that Ford wouldn't get what he wants: Fame, recognition, etc.
But he won't realize how much other things important until he loses them, it's just how he is
Ford's projecting himself into Dipper, and trying to take choices for him.
I've had enough of listening to his bullshit!
Forgive STAN! you imbecile! and stop manipulating Dipper for fucks sake.
If your strapped for time,
Not what he seems
tail of two stans
dipper and mabel vs the future (most recent)
anyone have suggestions?
The second image looks like McGucket's junkyard to me. Wonder how he's taking all of this.
Also, did anyone else never notice the obvious similarity between Bill and Blendin before this episode? They both show images of other locations and times on their person. Of course Bill possessed him. It's fucking pottery.
this but change the chorus to "CIPHER OH!"
Since Bill does seem to be forced to hold up his end of the bargain, my guess is that:
>Bill has actually created a time bubble to trap Gravity Falls in an endless summer that makes it impossible for time travelers to get in or out
>Because of the phrasing of the wish, this only lasts for as long as Mabel wants it to. As a result, he's trapped her in an endless dream where summer continues forever.
>The only way to stop Bill is to go back in time and stop him from getting the rift, but in order to do this they need to wake Mabel up to end the time bubble first
>Something, something, dreamscape
Disregarding the Mabel fiasco, I have one question: Just what the fuck happened to the retarded-ass schedule and long-ass hiatuses? I mean, we've been getting new episodes every three weeks since July, and considering some of the atrocious waiting times from the past, it's baffling that the show finally has a competent schedule.
I'm not complaining or anything, fuck no, but until I saw the promo I was ready for the show to go into a hiatus until early 2016.
>20 minute episodes
Fuck I really dont have time to watch the whole thing through. Ill watch those episodes and see If I can catch S2 from the beginning. Thanks for the recs.
Are there any absolutely crucial story episodes I shouldn't miss as well?
World gets so fucked,
only Stan can out smart Bill.
Stanley sacrifices himself conning bill.
Ford realizes it's his fault.
Wracked with guilt, the twins hit him with the memory gun.
"Your name is Stanford Pines! You're our great uncle, and you run the mystery shack telling people about all the cool things in Gravity Falls!"
You know I have tried to give at least 5 different people mega links for not just this but other shows.
Not a single one seems to be able to sue megaupload at all and bitch that it doesn't work.
Am I missing something? Not once have I ever had a problem with mega links but it seems impossible for people to figure it out.
>whoa, it's that guy from the money
>hey stranger, you wouldn't happen to have fat stacks of that green stuff with you on it on your pointy person, wouldja?
>fat chance, shriner hat. i've been inside your head, i know just what you'll spend it on. Dolly Parton does NOT need to make another film!
I get the impression that Mabel and Dipper
>don't like their parents
>don't like California
>don't have any friends back home
Dipper didn't mention missing his parents ONCE, only Mabel. Mabel gave the rift to Blendin BlandBill pretty quickly. For once, I think Mabel wasn't on full-hyperbole mode when she said that that was the worst day of her life. Assuming that one or more of those conclusions are correct, Mabel probably felt like all her happiness was being taken from her.
C'mon man that's bullshit of course you have time
blah blah work and girlfriend yeah whatever you can still watch an episode a day, the guy gave you like 4 episodes to watch don't be a turd
>no, no, you meesunderstand. i am talking about gringos, soos. we will eat all the gringos
>Woot, is that one of those rolled-up spicy corn chip things from the very end of the aisle?
it's gotta be mutual. parents who love their kids don't send them away to live with a stranger for the summer. they almost obsessively cherish every moment they can spend with them
at least my parents did. then again they were divorced
This is quite possibly the shittiest rec list I've seen. Don't listen to this guy. Try watching every episode (although you can skip Dipper vs Manliness and Roadside Attraction) whenever you can.
>yfw Pacifica's only dialogue was 'uuuuuhhh' this episode
Mega doesn't work quite right in Firefox, and in the past couple of months it's had a bunch of site-wide download problems where it wasn't working for anyone. Might not be all their fault.
I figured that their parents were going through a divorce or a rough patch, which is why they had the kids sent away. I think it's been explicitly mentioned that Dipper, at least, has pretty much no friends back home, just vidya and conspiracy theories. Mabel can make friends out of anyone, but she gets attached quickly; she wasn't upset that she was leaving Grenda and Candy, just that they're time would be cut short.
Makes sense why they're not terribly homesick.
Watch as much as you can. If you really get bored of the first season, skip to the last two episodes of the season and go from there. That's when the obvious "deepest lore" stuff starts. (although there's hints of it earlier, but you probably won't notice most of them unless you go through the show with a fine-tooth comb)
Anon I've been around since episode 4, and man, those fucking hiatuses where everywhere:
>4 months between summerween and Boss Mabel
>2 months between Boyz Crazy and Land Before Swine
>1 year between season
>1 month between sock opera and golf war
>3 months between love god and mansion mystery
>2 moths between not what he seems and tale of two stans
With the rest of the schedule coming at random intervals, to suddenly switch to a more or less competent, of long schedule is just baffling after all this time.
>no time to watch 20min eps
get back into your containment thread, rockshagger.
I don't care either way, except that it was confirmation that the "Dubber" from a few threads ago who claimed there'd be a Padippica tease was full of shit.
I already am. Sounds nicer than Blendill, anyway.
>Yeah I see it Morty. And no, I had nothing to do with this one. Time to BUUH-ail on this reality.
Either he'd crash with Soos or go back on the road. Probably would have ended up homeless.
Anybody else catch that he's still calling the shack "my house"? Even when talking about not allowing a party that's happening one day before he gets kicked out? I think he's in denial about Ford kicking him out and hasn't really given what he's going to do much thought after his run for mayor failed.
Makes sense, Alex himself comes from a divorced home which was why he was tossed around from Grunkle and Grunty so much.
I wish someone would ask him if he and Ariel still have the journal and scrapbook they made as kids
that's what i shouted during the talkback
funny how ephemeral those moments are
>Stan, are you sure you're gonna be okay here?
>Heh, don't worry about me. Gimme a week, i'll be RUNNIN THE JOINT!
So why the hell did Bill bring Blendin here when he's basically the only one who can stop him? Unless he's going use him to actually do the "time bubble" thing.
>yfw pacifica gets unceremoniouslyzapped to dust in the next episode.
Reminder that even though Mabel fucked up drastically, she's still just a 12 year old child. She reacted selfishly, but would you expect a 12 year old like her in real life to react any differently?
>So Soos' grandma turned into a chair.
"I vacuum my face now."
>Stan, are you sure you're gonna be okay here?
>Heh, don't worry about me. Gimme a week, I'll be RUNNIN THE JOINT!
That's going to be what Stan says as he
seals himself in the Nightmare Realm in order to close the Rift from the inside.
You're trying to reason with 4chan
Everyone is either a) not taking it seriously, shitposting for shitposting sake or b) so filled with hatred towards womyns that they actually hate a 12 year old girl for a mistake her uncle and brother caused by keeping her ignorant and will justify that hate through any means necessary
it's like going on tumblr and saying DON'T BE RACIST they're either all agreeing with you, troll posters, or racists
>Girl feelings directly causing the apocalypse
No, Ford's feelings (projections onto Dipper) caused the apocalypse. Literally this whole episode was Ford manipulating Dipper using the same tactics as Bill.
misogynists depict women's feelings as destroying everything and that's bad
progressives depict women's feelings as destroying everything and that's okay it's not their fault, but a man's feelings are awful and he needs to apologize to Candy for them.
>anybody who doesn't hang out in muh Pinecest General and has shit other than Gravity Falls going on is a newfag
See this is one of the reasons why I haven't been paying so much attention to Gravity Falls as my other shows. After Tale of Two Stans I knew there'd be a long fuck hiatus, I figured there'd be no new shit forever. I think that's why I'm feeling so raw about this being the big finale. Not only are there a lot of loose ends that might not be tied up, but the scheduling has been so terrible. Being fed only scraps every now and then makes for a conclusion with far less impact.
Nigga he a triangle
Stop wanting three-sided polygons to enslave you.
So after the snoozing shitfest that was the last episode I actually lost the enthusiasm to catch today's new episode when it premiered.
So how did Alex "Hacksaw" Hirsch manage to come up short this time?
Of course. Mabel pulled the trigger, but Ford and Dipper didn't explain to her the full scale of what was going on. This could have EASILY been Stan with a different promise/threat, who, I'm not even sure is aware of Bill at this point. I'm pretty sure Candy and Grenda know more about Bill than Stan.
are you trying to say half the threads aren't filled with wimmens-hating pedophiles? Because during our shitposting sessions when everyone's just doing what they feel like that's what the threads become
Are you trying to like, protect /gfg/'s reputation or
>can't criticize a distraught 12 year old girl's behavior without it being interpreted as misogyny
Dipper was 15x more fucking stupid than Mabel in Sock Opera since he gave himself to Bill willingly, Mabel just got tricked at a bad opportunity
wendy is drastically immature for her age. it's just backwoods standards are pretty low
dipper's a relatively normal more advanced city kid, so he's only a little better than what should be expected.
seriously, you're a tard. i know you're common, but you're not THAT common. there were lots of us good mature responsible people at that age. our parents raised us right and shit.
I'd say the latest threads have been filled with rationalists and utilitarians who would've had no qualms about choosing superscience and saving the world over their families, if they were in Dipper's place.
And I agree with them. Mabel is an impulsive, sentimental brat
>there were lots of us good mature responsible people at that age
>calling other people manchilds
>while posting in a thread discussing a cartoon targeted for children
lmao holy fuck
>he gave himself to Bill willingly
But that's not what happened. He offered a sock puppet but Bill did that gay riddle shit that really isnt a riddle it's just misspeaking
haha, no, not like that. though I knew a few of those too. not many. still better than normies, but
seriously, did you like.. get in trouble and shit past double digits? did you get 'grounded' or whatever like on tv? we didn't.
>he says while posting on /co/
>whining about manchildren and vidya music
>in a thread about a kids' cartoon about a manlet's childhood fantasies.
>utilitarians who would've had no qualms about choosing superscience
confirmed for never having anyone close to them leave them
Kids will run away from home because mommy didn't get them the toy they wanted, Mabel just went into the woods to have a cry and try to let some emotion out and Bill immediately preyed upon her when she was weak
Girl didn't even get 5 minutes to collect her head
I'll entertain the ridiculous idea.
Why would you come to discuss said cartoon here unless you were a manchild.
Sorry, there's no escaping that corner.
I'd like to see you try though.
making any deal with Bill when Dipper had lots of knowledge about him at his disposal is still fucking stupid
Thinking Bill would want a sock puppet and nothing else is fucking stupid
But since Dipper is twelve, makes sense right?
>being this mad
Also, >>76609297, prolly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqoBip7WXng
So what deus ex machina will Alex pull out to stop the end of the world?
Gonna assume since Gideon is back, it's gonna get kinda rapey tbh. I'm willing to bet part of his deal is her queenship to him since he can't seem to let that fucking go in the same way Hirsch won't let Wendip ripip
>Dipper agrees to give away one of Mabel's possessions to Bill for a deal
>Mabel agrees to give away one of Dipper's possessions to Billendin (not knowing he was possessed by bill) for a deal
/gfg/ looses its collective shit
the ending reminded me of this
and also worried because Futurama plot right after this rift was basically shit
>le ebin fedora memeing
Now, see, it's like this: Ford and Dipper are giving their all to save the world at the expense of their family; if they didn't do that, then the world is doomed and their family suffers still. It's simply choosing the option that leaves the least amount of victims behind. Ford knew that, Dipper was beginning to see that.
After all, the one who destroyed the world was the impulsive, short-sighted sibling, not the one with the greater vision and sense of duty.
>Stan is the only pure character besides Soos left
Of course. And it still stands - he is fucking twelve, in the same way Mabel is fucking twelve. They were both in states of weaknesses, Bill took advantage of it, and now people are trying to act like Mabel's was SO MUCH WORSE just because she got preyed when the stakes were higher. Same mistakes, trusting someone you shouldn't have. At least Blendin had a real reason to do something nice for Mabel, she literally spared his life and gave him his job back, and pretty hair. What was the reason for Bill to help Dipper? A sock puppet?
Stan didn't deserve to become homeless at 17 over an accident from the one person he trusted more then anything in the world. 10 years later Stan didn't deserve to have his Hope brought up and the. Immedietly crushed as he's sentenced to slaving away to get his best friend back for 30 years. Stan didn't deserve to be met after all those years of work with hatred from the only person he gives a shit about.
Inb4 ford didn't ask Stan for help
>DO SOMETHING STANLEY!! STANLEEY!!
Ford a fucking shit he deserves to die sad and alone surrounded by his shitty accolades and scientific achievements
The power of
platonic, non-romantic, non-sexuallove between siblings. Trite and hackneyed, but it's the only way the series can end without too much blood onscreen.
the Magic of Friendship, revealing the whole cartoon is Alex's tribute to his forever muse and waifu.
HERE I AM
DIRTY AND FACELESS
WAITING TO HEED YOUR INSTRUCTION
ON MY OWN
I AM A GOD OF DESTRUCTION
>Gonna assume since Gideon is back, it's gonna get kinda rapey
>pilot episode kicks off the show with Mabel narrowly avoiding being assaulted by hundreds of tiny gnome dicks
>series finale closes out with Mabel narrowly avoiding an eternity serving as Gideon's sex slave
This is why I always disliked the time travel episodes, if you establish that time travel exists in this universe, then nothing has any consequences.
When I saw Blendin show up, I though "Shit, time travel in a lore heavy episode."
>posting anime to try and dissuade me you're not a fedora
>F/Z of all things
>Ford and Dipper are giving their all to save the world at the expense of their family
Their family who they purposefully chose to exclude. Ford, because he's a spiteful baby who doesn't deserve Stan, and Dipper because, well Ford told him to. And Ford was the one who brought Bill here in the first place, and made the deal, and built the portal, and relies on a 12 year old to help solve his problems, and doesn't understand Dipper and Mabel's relationship and projects his own emotional hangups onto Dipper. Ford's manipulation is the same as Bill's.
Literally all of this is Ford's fault.
ya know when 1/2 ur post is a shitpost and the other 1/2 is argument the shitpost part kinda takes over the argument part so idk what you're doing if you're new to this or what
and no, i'm not that guy you're arguing with
>One of many sock puppets that Bill ultimately doesn't touch as he takes Dipper's body instead
>A one of a kind contraption that Mabel doesn't understand
Let's not forget that Dipper was doing it to unlock a laptop in order to learn more about Gravity Falls. Mabel did it because she didn't want summer to end and she would have subjected the entire town to a time loop if Blendin/Bill had been telling the truth. What Mabel was willing to give away and what she was after were on such a different level from Dipper that the situations don't hold up as parallels.
I enjoy the show. It's made with parents watching alongside their children in mind. Video games are made with college dudebros and recluses in mind. Admittedly, it seems the same could be said for a lot of other cartoons these days. I have a hard time imagining Adventure Time's target audience being anything besides college aged hipsters without kids, for instance.
Ford didnt need Dipper at all to get the glue. The whole point of the trip was to convince Dipper to stay with him. Ford did it because he wanted an apprentice for himself. He wanted to pull Dipper away from his friends and family all to pass down his own legacy. That is incredibly selfish, and a massive burden to put on a 12 year old. In any other context this would be cult like.
Honestly in the end it is all Blendin's fault for allowing Bill into his mind.
How do you fucktards not get that?
>implying this isn't Gideon's fault because he made a deal with Bill to bust him out of prison so he could offer Blendin one of his wigs for a seemingly small favour that ends up in Blendin getting possessed
You really aren't thinking, are you anon?
Ah, but Blendin made the deal to get revenge on Dipper and Mabel by having Bill break him out of time prison
SO IT WAS MABEL'S FAULT ALL ALONG BC WADDLES
AW YEAH BACK TO THE TIME TRAVELER'S PIG SHITPOSTING
This anon makes a good point, though I disagree about the situations not being parallels.
All four members of the Pines family are remarkably shitty people, but Ford and Dipper just barely pull out ahead for me because they at least have a noble cause of discovering new knowledge, even if their reasons for wanting it are not totally altruistic. Stan and Mabel's goals are entirely hedonistic in nature.
>actually recognizing F/Z
>somehow, MOI is the fedora
I mean, unless you were such a tool to reverse-search that image on google and then use it as an ad nomimen, but, for the sake of utility, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
>Their family who they purposefully chose to exclude.
Like I said, for the greater good. Extraterrestrial tech, dimensional hopping, time travel, cryptids, protecting the world from otherworldy demons like Bill - those take precedence.
>And Ford was the one who brought Bill here in the first place
He has to atone. If he doesn't do that, then his family would be destroyed alongside the world anyway.
>and relies on a 12 year old to help solve his problems
The one 12yo that seems smarter than everybody else in his family, especially than his sister.
>and projects his own emotional hangups onto Dipper.
Admit it already: Dipper is more like Ford to the core and always has been that way, even back at the start of the series when he was interested in the journal while Mabel was chasing boys.
She couldn't go back and ask before do it? Remember how many times Dipper asked Bill to make sure it would just be the puppet? Who looks at a mysterious device they got from a scientist known to carry magical dice and goes, "Yep, better just hand that over to someone who tried to undo my birth."
hm dat trailer for next time.. gideon's gonna work with them it seems? i dunno man. but seeing more badass wendy is aalways good.
eh, that's only selfish if you don't value what he's doing at all. like any cult, it's as right to force people into it as it is right to .. the thing. the thing's rightness justifies it, or doesn't. depending. It's just like above, dipper was willing to put the laptop-fulla-secrets ahead of mabel because he felt it was important. in any case ford's been driven nuts by crazy space shit. at least he didn't turn into an alcoholic and accidentally cronenberg a world
excuse me, our generation IS the dudebros and hipsters. and we always will be. because we never had kids. we wanted em, it didnt happen.
That episode was not about boy feels, it was about Dipper trying to bring his feels to a total of 0, or neutality
He hurt 4 girls feels directly, and 2 indirectly in that episode
That is a total of 4f + (2f)/2, or 5f
Keep in mind that 1f = 5m, where f is the moral value of female feelings and m is the value of male feelings
Dipper ends that episode with -.5m, which is -.1f, and that is basically nothing compared to -5f
Are you daft? Dipper needed to gain confidence. Dipper was unsure of where he was going, why he was doing anything, let alone anything other than the life he was told to live by school and parents, and (to Ford and Stan's level of age) was letting such a small thing as his 13th birthday totally bring him down. It's a great bunch of messages for the younger viewers: Don't let life get you down. You are the hero, if you just do what's right. Having potential is not the same as using that potential in your life to become a better person. And a fave Mark Twain quote: Don't let school get in the way of your education.
everyone always says their goals are noble and others' are hedonistic
i'm not saying everyone is wrong, but nobody can prove theirs is any better than anyone else's. it's up to those who are genuinely right to hope higher powers recognize that and help them get ahead, because objectively there will never be an answer and the concept of proving something with evidence has become laughable.
Roadside Attraction was just bad all around, even as feminisms I still didn't like whatever the fuck it was Alex was trying to preach with both Darlene and Dipper getting hounded by those girls, he was never dating any of them
that felt like the episode would have had more impact if the show's pacing wasn't all over the place with episodes like the road trip one
it's pretty well done but it felt like there could have been more character/plot buildup to give it more weight
If Blendin were smart at all he wouldn't agree to allow a talking triangle in his head to mess with his brain.
You're kind of grasping at straws here.
the rest of your post is fair, but mabes is not going to think of blendin as a bad guy, ever. she forgives, and this guy is known to have turned around
i come here for wincest and /ss/
their feelings are unreasonable. his are not. the very idea that he needs to 'get over' his feelings but apologize for theirs is fucking ridiculous.
>such a small thing as his 13th birthday totally bring him down.
Dipper never did this what are you talking about.
Also there must have been other times Ford could help Dipper "gain confidence", preferably ones that werent a matter of the universe being destroyed or that wouldnt be extremely dangerous for a 12 year old boy
It is though. Mabel's motivations revolve entirely around making herself happy. That's hedonism in a nutshell. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. She is entitled to pursue her own happiness.
Why is Stan the best character in the family? He has some flaws but when it comes down to it all he cares about is keeping the family safe and nothing else. I hope Stan has a major role in saving the universe.
