>>904855 Get a bunch of 2x6s and use a rafter square to make an appropriately sized rectangle, double up 2x4s at each inside corner for legs, make a ledge around the bottom with furring strip then use 1x4s for the slats.
I want to make a solar charger for my cell-phone or other devices that can be charged on a usb circuit. I also want to put batteries in this kit so it can hold the charge and be used for later. So my questions are as follows. >How big will the solar cell have to be to charge two 18650 Li-ion batteries? >Will these batteries explode on me for some unholy reason? >Will this project even work? This is my first real DIY project and I know very little about electricity, so I'm... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>904725 >charge two 18650 Li-ion batteries how fast do you want to charge them? where do you live? solar charging is highly innefective.. to charge those batteries in a reasonable time would take a solar panel the size of a small car.
I have a solar charger that has one 3.x V 2000-3000 mah battery in it and it takes about 24 hours of direct sunlight to charge it, panel is abou the size of a credit card. Ive stuck it in the window for a few days and the battery bar never went up.... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hey /diy/ i just smashed my phone, a brand new nokia lumia. It dropped flat on the back and caught fire because of the battery. So that's beyond repair i guess.
This made me realise that smartphones are not cut out for me, especially since i do construction work and always carry my phone around.
So i was thinking about buying a CAT S40, Is there anyone here that has one of these phones? What is your opinion about one of these? Is it actually as strong as they say it is? Can it atleast run whatsapp smoothly? etc
I had a heavy duty flip phone once, it broke in 3 months, the hole that held the peg wore out and the screen came off. Otherwise it was Mich more durable than other flip phones I had. There was absolutely no other physical damage after big dropped many times.
Need some advice /diy/, and my apologies if this is a stupid question.
So I'm building a stand for our new front end loading washing machine. I have the frame built from 2x4s, but now I need to cut the plywood for the sides and top. Problem is, I don't have a table saw. I do have a circular saw, a jig saw, and a hand saw.
I need some advice on how best to go about cutting the 4' x 8' plywood into smaller pieces (10" x 28" and 28"x28").
>>904635 >>904636 >>904638 1. TL:DR is supposed to be a summary, not the main point 2. write your post properly before spamming your own thread with bumps 3. Sage 4. A turbo compresses gas, water doesn't compress so no your idea is retarded and I don't even understand what you want to accomplish
>>904696 Yep, just replied to me: Hi there, thank you for your message. We're actually awaiting Stock from our supplier so to keep our stock from running out we've raised the price for several days. Our usual price is £1.95 but we offer discounts for larger orders.
Water hammer arrester. They should be full of air so that when a hammer of water comes in it can compress the air like a spring and normalize pressure gradually instead of making the pipes knock like crazy.
Something about your house probably needs them if it has them.
I pulled out my old PS2 and some of the buttons on the controller weren't working, so I decided to open the thing. I managed to get every screw out except one (circled). I tried firmly pressing down and twisting, then the rubber band trick, and by that point I had managed to completely fuck it. Now there's a hollow pit where the + shape used to be, and I can't remove it. How screwed am I? I have a Dremel, but the screw is recessed and I'm concerned about potentially damaging the internals of the controller. None of the screw extractor bits I've seen... Comment too long. >>904566 carefully drill it out... preferably with a left hand bit if you have one... then fill the pit with some super glue and get a new screw... match the width of the drill bit to that of the existing screws you pulled out.... go slow... use a ring of tape placed on the bit so that you don't drill too far past the depth of the screw (use the ones you pulled out as a reference for how deep that one is)..
again, go slow... patience is key, if you slip the bit and drill the wrong spot it'll make much more... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

what happened? what did you do? what do you know about computers?
ad some detail before expecting help. it could be anything by your description.

What is the real cost of building a home?
I inherited about 0.7 acres of land from my Great-Grandma and would like to have a house built on it. I have no skills so everything needed to be done would be contracted (besides painting I can paint).
I want a 1,500-1,800 square foot 3 bed 2 bath home. A "cookie cutter" layout that would be cheap to build like pic related. Would go with laminate/hardwood flooring throughout and tile in the... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Biggest factor is actually _where_ you're building it. In the Seattle area we're pushing no less than $100-150 per sq. ft. If you go to Eastern Washington near Idaho, these prices drop by about 40%. Source: I'm building one now in western Washington. Prices are absurd.
you could start with a mobile home if you wanted. use that towards buying a lot and starting a house. there are different routes to take just find which is best for you and how to do it the most cost efficient way once you have estimates.
