Hello, /diy/. I need your advice. This rough sketch in picrelated depicts a drain system in my house. Figures 1 and 3 are maintenance pit with a hatch to the main shitpipe leading to the communal system. Figure 2 point to the water level and a rusted-out hole beneath the maintenance hatch. Shit water doesn't come out of the hole, but the stench. The only way to repair it is to replace the rusty maintenance hatch piece, but i can't afford it and welding is out of option, as it is completely rusted.

>>935070 If its a sewage manhole in your basement you need a double sealing hatch otherwise poisonous poo gas will kill you in your sleep. Seriously. There shouldn't be anything shit in the pipe. If there is a trap that has backed up or emptied washing it out might help
Hey guys. I'm making a new table that is going to have a somewhat unorthodox design. Anyway, I saw this picture and I thought that I really liked the heightening-/lowering thing, that I have encircled... Just one qustion though; do anybody know what these are called??
Hey, /diy/ This is my first time coming here, but I have a question that I think would be better issued here than any other board.
I have a Headset I've been using for about a month now, and today when I was putting them on, I streched the headband too far and it snapped, luckily since there is a layer of foam and covering on it to soften the headset, it's still technically in one peice, but the plastic band underneath is broken in two. Is there any way to fix this?
I've currently tried to duct tape it, but that seems like it's not working as... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I had a pair just like that and it too broke the same way. I tried some wood skewers as a splint but it didn't hold up. In the end i used a metal fork, skewers and tape to hold it together. Internet spaceships was my motivation back then.
Just buy or build a headphone amp and plug it into the "pre out" jack. Or you can even try plugging your phones directly into it; I don't know if it'll be able to drive your headphones very loudly though.
>>934887 Stone knapping has been a meme for at least 3.3 million years and Humans weren't even the first ones to start it. We are like the newfags of evolution spouting oldfag memes every time we do flint knapping. Of course we are shit at it and if the oldfags were still around it'd piss them off to no end.
>>935175 its more to do with the type of rocks. most australian aborigines never learnt to knap for example. wrong kind of stone here. you need very fine grained glass or soft fine grained stone. otherwise your options are limited.
Are you asking where to buy lumber? I'm not sure where you are, but for the US, there's big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot that sell wood. Nothing special but it's something. I is it supposed to be decoration? If you need help on this stuff, we're gonna need more details.
Sup /diy/, I have pic related in my backyard used to store waste oil. My experience has been these always rust out the bottom well before they're full(currently has 80L in it). It's already elevated off the ground so it's not going to rust from being in the elements but rather from the water accumulated inside.
So I had the idea of periodically drying the contents by sticking it on a gas burner and heating it up to 150 C for an hour or so. My question is if this is going to bite me in the ass later on. First problem is the paint on the base is going to... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hey /diy/. I've been wondering... how hard is it to convert a gasoline car into an electric car? Unfortunately, I have this Bora in my backyard taking up space, and the engine is completely blown. However, someone did the favor of taking out the engine and now it just sits there with no engine. I've been wanting to convert it to an electric car since it is very lightweight and the trasnmission ( I think) seems to be okay. How hard is this, and has anyone done it? I have some skills in circuits, but by no means am I an electrical engineer. Thanks for any advice!
Average cost of conversion is 10K. It won't be practical and it'll take a lot of time, unless you know your way around a wrench. Google around for conversion kits and figure out how you'll get power steering and brakes again to start.
