So I want to design my own trackball mouse (pic more-or-less related) but I don't have any experience in making or designing hardware, so how would I get started? I know how to use Blender for 3D modeling but how should I go about developing a prototype of my mouse?
Hello /diy/, I was wondering if somebody knows a reason why a LED flashes and an overcurrent protection device triggers when I connect my lamp to neutral and phase but works totally fine when neutral and phase is switched?
I don't get why something like this is possible with AC.. I am really interested in your answers, thanks!
New to the job, asked my boss what the order was for connecting a machine to the 3-phase supply. Because you know, brown, grey, black and earth. Bit confusing when you're new to things.
Get told it doesn't matter, only the Earth needs to be in the correct clamp.
Fear this is some kind of test, or like getting sent for the rubber nails. Doubtful look is noticed, get told, just connect the fucking things.
All hooked up, stand behind the door, breaker in hand, turn on the power. Machine works fine. 3-phase does not give a shit. Only matters for feeding... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>927526 3-phase is different in that all of the non-earth lines have a potential. My best guess if this is a simple incandescent is that the neutral is tied to earth somewhere in the lamp, which is unlikely.
The setup requires a timer to complete the circuit and turn on the enlarger lamp. I don't have a timer. The timer plugs into the back of the power supply.
I only took a basic electrical engineering course in college so I don't know much about this. I'd like to avoid having to buy a timer. Could I use a spare electrical cord, plug it in the back of the power supply, and cut the other end off, connecting the positive and negative wires?
>>927489 OH wow guy, I just bought a Zenith BnW enlarger for my girlfriend. She wants to build a dark room so I'm hoping to surprize her. A late new year sort of present. However didn't get a timer with the unit. Its a simple little unit with a incandescent bulb in the top that just plugs in to a wall outlet. I figured id just make an Arduino controlled timer with a relay switch and a timer. But I haven't given it much thought yet. I kinda figured i'd use a couple of buttons one prolongs exposures... >>927450 We used to have a wall mounted calendar, nice looking as we designed and printed it ourself. Very inconvenient to arrange whole family's every coming and going. I bought an used 10€ chonk tablet and made a calendar out of that. Now it's synced. Ripped out the battery just for safety. And it has Spotify and onenote so that's even more convenient. This project assumed family....
Hello. I would like to build an ADSL filter tester, so the result of the test is much more precise than simply disconnecting all ADSL filters in the place and hearing for modem noise in one of them. But I could not find projects in electronic sites...
>>927447 >Voice calls operate between 300Hz and 3.4KHz, and include also DC power (0-72V DC at on-hook condition, typically 0-60 mA current and lower voltage at on-hook) and rign voltage (typically 40-80 V AC at 20-25 Hz freuquency). Is this actual? I though this difference in ringing was eliminated with the telephones with internal ringing circuits. This is true worldwide?
I'm interested in seeing what /diy/ has come up with when it comes to repurposing ordinary things for household or other uses around the property. I am building my own house soon and I would really like a repurposed looking home decor.
>>927470 Carpentry is what framers do. Furniture isn't made by carpenters. You might argue that any kind of woodworking is under the umbrella of carpentry but we would argue that you are a cunt and need to shut your whore mouth.
Hey /diy/, I plan on building a MADE Camber desk in a larger size to fit against a wall. I will plastidip it to make it a nice white but am not sure how get the shape nor the material to do this. Also not sure the best way to fit the legs on the curved surface. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
>ask google I couldn't find anything on google for getting a shape in such a deep piece. Was looking under the presumption of using wood, and with no one local able to do this if there was a better way of doing this before going down that route.
>list resources I am asking trying to find the optimal way to do this regardless of resources time etc., I was thinking wood would be best but as you said getting the... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hello /diy/ I'm trying to repair these threeway Realistic Optimus speakers I bought a few years ago. They have a slight rattle and don't sound great. I was going to use the website SimplySpeakers to get some replacements for it.
What should I get? I don't know how to check the size of the speakers or if I should get fullrange or a woofer for the larger one. Kind of new to it. Any help is appreciated.
