Hello /diy/, Im trying to design a small, portable speaker set. The main trouble I am having is with it is the speakers I have are from digikey (bought a while ago) and the there are no specs for many of the thielen parameters. They are full range speakers 150~17k Hz meant to just act as something to use when in the shower or at my work desk
So my question is should I try my best to find something that is like it on another website and see its parameters? Or should I just buy new ones
The end goal is to have a the two speakers next to each other in their respective sealed enclosures. The whole thing will be one big piece I would like it to be the size of a radio at the most but when I calculate and look at pic related ill need something fairly large
If it's just meant to be a shower or desk set of speakers, you don't need to get this in depth into building the enclosure. You're not going to notice a difference in sound from a set of small speakers while you're taking a shower. If you're trying to build some kind of massive PA or hi-fi setup, then you should bother with perfecting your enclosure design, but in the application you mentioned, it simply doesn't matter.
So X-mas is in a few days, and i found the *PERFECT* gift for my little brother, who just recently started getting into pokemon. My original Pokemon Blue cart! And my save file(which i poured more than 200 hours into) is still there too! Problem is, i bought it back in '98, so the fact that my save is still there is amazing enough, but its probably a matter of days/weeks before that battery that is keeping the save file dies. I have all the parts i need to swap the battery out(Soldering iron, solder, the replacement 2025 battery) and i see there are... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>918210 I don't know about replacing the battery, but first I'd use a Pokemon Stadium (N64) cartridge and a transfer pack to backup all your pokemons (is that the plural for pokemon?) and then change the battery.
I made a video showing how to make copper sulfide crystals. They're highly conductive and can be used to make conductive coatings and layers. Even drop cast on a paper tower they conduct great. It's also an important material for super capacitors. Theoretically 12 layers of this stuff could power your house. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEJVHOou8aM
>>918162 a typical capacitor is rated in microfarads typically and you'd be right, they hold very little power. Super capacitors are more like a battery. Except they have significantly higher energy density and can charge in seconds. Copper sulfide has a capacitance in it's natural form of 200 farads per square cm. so at 12 layers that are 8.5x11 would have a capacitance of about a million farads. That's plenty to power your house for a while.
Its 8x9x5 inches and is made from what used to be a variable power supply. The first thing that came to mind was putting a mini itx motherboard in there and having a nixie clock home theater PC case, but I'm interested in what other people could come up with. Any ideas?
Gullets only serve to eject saw dust so I wouldn't worry about the deep gullets, they may prove to be beneficial. You definitely do not need a rip blade on a miter saw. Ive had good luck with the Diablo combo blades.
Dedicated blades have different tooth configurations and different grinds so that's why they cut different. A rip blade should be around 24T while a xcut blade will be anywhere from 32T on up depending on what youre cutting (plywood, softwood, hardwood).
So my family tugged on the hose out the front of our house one to many times and the copper pipe the tap is connected to developed a tiny crack. To save myself the trouble of a plumber I decided to borrow one of those little propane torches and redo the joint that cracked.
Propane wasn't hot enough and only just melted 10% silver braze so I went and got MAP gas for the torch instead. As I understand this should be hot enough. The braze melts fine but solidifies as soon as it touches the pipe and refuses to wet it.
I wanna cover carpet on my floor. It has some mid-quality laminate already but I'm not a wood guy. I don't want to damage the laminate but i can take off the skirting boards. Also because it's groundfloor and there's poor insulation between the ground and laminates I want some heat insulation too. What do you suggest /diy/ ? Which material should I use for insulation (I also want this because it would make a soft surface even if the carpet is too thin) what are some good methods?
Unrelated but also one of my walls catches the north wind... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Sounds like a basement cement floor. That's always going to be cold unless radiant heating is installed. >also one of my walls catches the north wind and its very cold to the touch. Get... My friend and I rented an apartment but my gf can sometimes be a little loud. I'm looking for a way to soundproof my room. The only noise will be my gf, normal volume music playing and me raging in video games (no shouting). Below's a rough sketch of the two rooms. beds are probably for certain, there are also two narrow wardrobes and a large L desk i havent placed yet.
I was thinking about getting large wood/plastic panels (light) and stick pyramid shaped acoustic foams on it, then screw the panel to the walls. What do you think?

I don't see a measuring tape or an electrical multimeter on your list, those are pretty fundamental.
You really have to look at the tasks you're doing. If you're not taking a stupidly long time to finish a task, not damaging finishes, not stripping fasteners and so on, you're probably using the right tools.
If you want to make yourself more valuable, start by building skills. Are there any tasks that you're consistently asking someone to help you finish?
