Post some good shit, discuss, etc.
What are some good all black boots? Preferably with a good sole for rain/snow
Vibram and dainite soles
Motor Chromexcel Leather Lace Up Boots.....look very nice
Victor doc martens.
I really like them, got them 6 months ago. It's the thai prod but they've proven themselves resistant to creasing, they're not falling apart, no sewing problems - near new condition actually, even though I wore them very often. All black, and ofc good sole. Very comfortable on top of that.
got some time on my hands, any special requests ? I don't have any mirror around sadly.
Actually, these are sufficient. It's just nice to see some non-stock photos.
hey /fa/ m8s
first time here,
you probably get this a lot..
are there any nice looking Boot/sneaker hybrids
all black.. fashionable
make you taller, yet functional, not heavy as fuck?
Will these work for canadian winters? and how versatile are they /fa/ wise?
any interest in some artisanal boots? I have some good ones
Just got these a few minutes ago
The guys at the store made it very clear that Chromexcel boots are Japan exclusive =(
But these are nice
Anybody like these beauties? I would like a pair
Sanders Japan military chukkas
Little over 400 bucks
woah! all those look very nice, I wonder if the quality is shitty since they are pretty cheap.
w2c George Boots for a decent price?
Should I cop? Want a tall zip boot >500
Tfw I managed to buy a pair of black Desert Mali's before they were discontinued.
Should I get them resoled?
I finally found the perfect boot for what I'm looking for. (Going to wear it fully laced unlike pic related)
>go to order it
>no shipping to Canada
Are there any methods Canadian /fa/ggots know that can help me out?
i know that feel, being effay is hard when the things you want are either ridiculously expensive to ship or dont ship at all to you
if you live near the border you could ship it to the us and drive down
if you know anyone in the us willing to do it (or you dont mind paying extra for a site to do it) you could try proxy shipping, it could get costly tho
but honestly you could try going to a few malls; it's fall so palladiums (and a lot of other boots) are really common in most shoe and clothing stores. i bought a pair of palladiums just yesterday from kixs in calgary
Is wingtip boots /fa/?
Can it go with both officepants and cargopants?
Am I a fag if I wear boots when we dont even have winter season here?
Might order these. Gonna be doing some traveling next month and need some comfy boots.
What are some good boots that have a simaler look to pic related, but are more practical, like this guy's >>10453252
I like the laceless style but im a bit iffy on the band part.
Been looking for some Wachtbattalion boots, but the site that had them for like $50 ran out or something.
important to note that this guy has the higher quality leather victors
kid in one of my class has a pair with the regular "leather" and they are creased like shit and look like clown shoes
Am I the only one that thinks linguine laces look bad on boots and dress shoes? Like their too "sneakerish" and way to casual looking?
I just can't find myself appreciating a boot with those laces.
thinking about either getting these or the leather black palladiums
What is the quality like on Palladium boots? Are they worth getting?
Has anyone bought these? If so, are they a good buy?
Are these clearly women's boots or could a guy wear them without getting stares?
Any Clarks Desert Mali bros in here? Just bought a pair about two weeks ago and I just noticed this today. Is this normal or is it going to turn into a bigger problem, if it's a fuck up I'll return them or swap them for another pair. I don't want to pay 150 for junk.
nah no shoe trees, I wear them all day and haven't treated them yet with any oils or anything, I don't mind the wrinkling since it gives them character but I'm more concerned about the soles getting fucked up and having a hole in the side of the boot or something
Engineer boots are a bit shorter and slightly less SS, not that you would want that.
nah i have em and youll slip all over the place in sleet. they look great if you weather proof em as theyll get darker and the brown gets more rich. theyre a good looking boot but the soles just not good in winter conditions
holy shit man. I'm gonna assume your not trolling at let you know that literally nothing about this outfit works at all. Sweatpants and black boots? and a jean jacket? Come on man.
Thinking of copping a pair of Mali's as sort of a "going out" type of shoe, IE when you are going out somewhere and don't want to wear sneakers but aren't dressed formally enough.
Not that I would wear them only for this, but should I cop a pair? Feeling beeswax malis, and then maybe black suede CDB's later down the line.
150 from amazon
Don't see why not, Doc Martens are great boots. I got em in this colour and I think they're much nicer than the black ones, but whatever floats your boat.
As somebody who does a lot of returns due to sizing, only you can decide if it is worth doing an exchange. Is your life going to fall apart if you don't have these immediately? Or can you wait to try for a better pair.
Went to a Clarks store, asked for Mali's, they said they were web exclusive but they will order them for me. Asked for black but they could only fine Beeswax and whatever other brown colour it is, went to the back and came back later telling me they had no black left and didn't know when they were going to be restocked. Read somewhere online later that clarks is clarks is discontinuing black leather on all of their shoes or just a number of them, can't recall. Thats why you can only find them on places like Amazon, which is where I got my pair.
Damn I'd really like to see that.
Had these for a month or so now, they run narrow but a bit long so half a size down was right for me.
Due to the thickness of the leather on the left boot's heel area I experienced a lot of pain breaking them in, but I doubt that will be a problem for the soft leather version.
They did break in after about 2 weeks of wearing them and feel very comfy now.
Thoughts on Blundstone boots? Looking to get the best pair of Chelsea boots I can for under 200$.
Meermin has a nice pair of chelseas that replicate slps design quite good, buy they are only MTO group order, so it's only on sale for a couple of weeks. Right now they're funding a brown chelsea, which is a bit pricier but it's good-year welted and that is quite a step up quality wise. Buxley is another good alternative with a sleek silhouette, but since i'm guessing you're in the US i can't recommend buying from there since Buxley is based in France and if you get the wrong size it's gonna be a nightmare with shipping.
Jack Erwin also has a nice pair of Chelseas that also are a bit pricier but with a lot better quality.
love this design and colour, but the sole is too thick.
can someone recommend me a pair with a thin sole?
figured i would cop these but i don't know if they will be any good for winter. please help and also it's pier one boots if anyone wonders 1/3
Been wanting to pick up these Horween Danners after my friend accidentally caught my last pair on fire while we were camping this summer. I have Visvim Serras for the look, but I don't like to actually take em out on trails. These Danners look like they could take the abuse.
I'm not really very /fa/ and I just lurk a lot but I work as a conductor on the railroad and I started wearing Danner boots about 5 years ago.
They're expensive but when it comes to protection from snow and rain and walking for miles on ballast rocks, nothing else has come close. I like the look but I don't know if you guys would necessarily love them.
The pair I wear are called Quarry's ($260) but they've been doing a big push to do more fashionable stuff that's still very functional and warm. I've been walking for 5+ miles a day on shit surfaces for 12 hours a day and the sole is just starting to get clapped out.
Don't know if that's what you're interested on but that's my input.
Hey /fa/, need some advice on a pair of black leather boots. Looking at these three right now, but also open to other suggestions of similar ones
The hours suck I'm on call 24/7, no weekends or holidays off, Onduty 12+ hours a day.
Pay is quite good, $76k last year with only a GED. But you give your life up for that money.
Good benefits and retirement though.
On offdays (usually one per week, sometimes none) yeah but nothing other than that. We get random breathe, piss and hair tests a couple times a month as the industry is federally regulated.
can anyone vouch for the quality on these USMC reproduction boots? I like the roughout
Please tell me someone makes a cheaper alternative to the Danner Mountain Pass
It isn't 1:1 but the Cole Haan Cranston boot will save you $22
My man. I got the waterproof Katahdins, most people seem to prefer the engineer series. Regardless, you get nicer Chippewas with a warranty off the wall.
Merrell has some decent designs and is cheaper
Just wait for danner to have a sale I got my mountain lights cheap cuz of a store wide sale
I'm pretty sure those are boxing sneakers, or at the very least based off them.
Get fucking tims breh
Square toe box / 10
A lot of people get these because of the functionality but honestly getting a pair of military boots will be cheaper + look cooler. I'll have a lookbook out soonish with how to wear them etc.
These specifically look bad.
Everytime I wore Canvas shoes/boots they would always break while traveling, not too mention you won't enjoy rainy days.
Palladium is the hood's "Uggs". I'm not even joking every one in the projects got either these or Tims, difference is Tim's have better quality and aren't so whimsy,
lol you want a more thicker crepe (idk how to spell i tire) sole because those shits run. Resoling without a proper clobber(ing time) is a bitch.
The ones in the middle are the nicest
Common Projects make a black."combat" boot. High quality leather and simplistic look. If you don't mind the price tag, they are the best shoe you can get.
They're also incredibly comfortable although my feet sweat a ton in them.
Does anyone know of any sidezip boots that have a tall and skinny shaft? My ankles are crazy small and I want to be able to wear cropped pants with them without them getting stuck above the top part.
I copped a pair of doc martin tobias boots the other day, still waiting for them to get here. I've never had docs before so anything I should know in terms of breaking them in or anything?
Just got these today, Docker chukkas.
Comfy as fuck and I love the way they look.
have you worn wedge soles, dude
i just bought a pair of moc toe boots and they are without a doubt the comfiest fucking shoes I've ever worn >>10466109
nonetheless I already reached out to a company in NY that will resole them cuz they're atrociously ugly
I think the Danners look better, but the timberlands score some extra points for coming in leather. I have mixed feelings about suede boots in a non-chukka style.
No doubt theyre comfy. I tried on a pair once and it was ridiculous, I just can't really pull off that look. Are you going with a leather outsole like the one pictured? I think moc toes look pretty damn good with a "regular" heel/forefoot sole like that
yall niggas sleeping on wedge soles
New to /fa/ so pls be gentle.
I really like these Cole Haan chukkas I have. They're comfortably dressed up or dressed down.
I'd like to get something similar in a light suede. Clarks desert boots my best choice? I've heard they fall apart.
I've had a pair of J&M's for about 4 years now and apart from some creasing they are still in fantastic shape, but I can't really comment on their newer shoes. How light of a suede are you thinking?
it's a rubber outsole dude; Dainite makes a sepia brown one for, well, brown shoes. I've never seen them in person since only Allen Edmonds (to my knowledge) uses them regularly
this isn't exactly related, but I'm posting it to give the general idea of how the shoe will look with a new sole. I think it'll be a good change
I was thinking about getting a pair of these. But don't know if I should get them in gray black or brown. What do you guys think?
Ideally something like a sand color suede or maybe a very light grey.
I did look at the Clarks desert boots and the suede I liked was the Taupe Suede, but I'm apprehensive since I've heard those shoes literally fall apart with normal use. Would pay more for quality.
>have mixed feelings about suede boots in a non-chukka style.
Danner does a boot like this but it's not made in USA or recraftable (fucking shame cuz it's a niiiice boot) and you can get black suede mountain lights from Danner Japan (shame they aren't sold in America)
here's the real deal though: moncler peak boots
oh and OSB makes a beautiful indigo-dyed suede 8 eyelet boot but it's extremely hard to find
fug, I was just looking at Allen edmonds recently and thought that looked familiar, must have slipped my mind. I think they'll look pretty solid with an outsole like that. Definitely more versatile.
If Johnston and Murphy's quality is still where it was 4 years and you like crepe soles then I'd say go with those. I'm not really familiar enough with other brands of chukkas though.
Damn, I may have been missing out on my boot game these past few years. Those oak streets look great. I'd love to own a pair of OSB's but i have basketball feet
Dainite can sometimes be slippery when wet on super smooth surfaces.
I have dainite on a pair of wingtips.
Allen Edmonds Normandy boots
I like the look, and I'm just wondering how well they'd hold up to ice and grit.
Is doc martens 8 eye worth my money?
The base looks too thick.
Will probably wear it with my cargo pants since we can't wear denim to uni class.
Cop or not? If no then what are other alternatives?
How is the sizing on these? I'd like to order a pair.
I wear an 8 in clarks / wolverine 1000 mile / red wings / converse
9 in adidas / vans
Found this model online, how does it look ?
I want a rugged, traditional looking, leather outdoor boot. Like Red Wings just without a wedge sole, and for less than $200. Timbs Earthkeepers look alright but I don't know if I like all the stitching.
Surprisingly solid, apart from laces they came with - thin and made out of cheap leather so they won't last two weeks with heavy use.
My old pair's leather is still in a good nick, slightly scuffed, stitching is neat, however rubber sole (which was my mistake for buying it in the first place) is worn out completely, hence the new pair with plastic heel tips for easier replacement (hopefully)
how are they for snow?
looking at these
It rains a lot where I live so I don't think canvas boots are the thing for me, but these leather ones look nice.
The only problem with them is that they look a bit commando. should I cop?
just saw this in the Danner newsletter
Danner x Wings and Horns Forest Heights II w/ goretex liner and Livetech outsole....I really want a pair
380 and on sale now
Fuck here's the pic
IS THERE A FUCKING PLACE I CAN GET CHELSEA BOOTS FOR NOT $200+? ?
ONES LIKE THESE
I'm not impressed with the leather quality on my new red wings (first pair). the fact that I had to condition and shine them right out of the box was kind of a letdown since the brand is so revered
just invest in Horween boots
>that arent expensive
pick 1 m8
copped those ones for 80 bucks worn once, very nice quality imo
but if you're not buying used you basically have to spend at least 200 to get something decent
No seriously where can I cop these in the US
What are those? Looks like Oak Street Bootmakers.
Actually there is a test video on YouTube where the 3 Doc Martens are compared in quality.
Made is China were the best.
It goes like this:
China > England > Taiwan
Not even kidding. Some times mass production, produces better anon, I mean it can happen, right? well it did.
Fuck it, I'm just going to ask. Thinking about picking up something like pic related. Not that exact boot, but that style.
I need something casual that looks decent, just something to kick around in.
Any suggestions? Inspo? Abandon idea entirely?
I'm pretty impressed with the board as of late
There was a great ivy/prep thread last month, bag threads are consistently good, and this boot thread was a blast
It's gonna archive but there's so much that wasn't even discussed
Especially in terms of boot care and resoling options
