There's about 2 looks from each collection that are way out there but everything from Saint Laurent is extremely chic and cool. It takes a certain type of person to pull if off correctly. It's a lifestyle really as pretentious as that sounds.
I think that none of you should ever give this dull little person any of your money ever again.
To those that would defend this frankly offensive ‘collaboration’ as Raf’s ‘homage’ to a sneaker he likes and wears, I would ask you: ‘Why do these cost £240 on Mr Porter.com?’ That is a little more than four hundred United States dollars.
I cannot imagine the type of person that would buy these particular Stan Smith sneakers. I look for them in my mind and find only vapour. I cannot imagine even the most wholeheartedly devoted Raf Simons fanatic, the boy that closely identifies with Raf’s codes and motifs, the boy that appreciates and feels inspired by his ideologies, the boy that spends night and day scouring the internet for coveted archival pieces, ever, ever buying these particular Stan Smith sneakers.
I take solace in the comfortable knowledge that while these and all his other Adidas abortions will fly off of their physical and internet shelves, all the other dispassionate sewage that this man discharges will end up in deep sale where it belongs.
Yohji Yamamoto is a fave of mine. Keeps making amazing clothes.
