Wow, it looked way bigger on those first photos you posted on /fa/. It's pretty comfy now even though that huge empty industrial look it had in the beginning was cool too.
I'm planning on moving as well. A long and narrow dorm room with a mezzanine for the bed is what I have my eyes on. Nice rustic wood floor. Too bad the kitchen is a mess. Will post pics when I decide to take it.
not him but
>pick up acoustic guitar
>want to be dark and edgy so get a black one
>a year later already regret it
>fast forward a couple years
>decide to buy an electric
>get a black fucking strat because they don't have the model I want in red
>tfw now I have two black guitars which have the most basic shapes of all
ya idk my dad bought me that before I knew how to play guitar. I don't like having it on the ground so I got that hook for it, plus it's just in my bedroom, not like I'm showing it off to ppl
It's cheap and they have a lot of options and colors. I have a black malm bed, which is a pretty basic, angular -and /fa/ish. Mine has a headboard but you can get it without.
/fa/ seems to think having just a mattress on the floor is hip but if you're over the age of 18 you probably shouldn't do that.
IKEA is kind of stigmatized here, but it is what it is. If you're the kind of person who's going to cry if someone calls them out for having an IKEA bed then don't get one.
They're fun to assemble too. At least I think so. I played with Legos a lot when I was a kid.
let's just say I focus my decorating efforts on other parts of the house
it was for the /mu/ set up thread but well
too lazy to take a pic of beds side, its full of ilustrations and stuff
I haven't had any problems. Like I said, it's relatively cheap quality but unless you're doing some crazy shit on your bed and beating the shit out of it I think you will be fine. I've had no issues
a black soderhamn
I had a friend as a roommate for a few years, be careful. You could end up hating eachother and choose to deal with having less cop/fun* money just to not have a flatmate
>*implying /fa/ has social lives
It wouldn't be anything long term. Just for a year or two, 'til I get better paid or whatever. I know things can go bad with flatmates. First year I moved with a bunch of unknown people (the owner rented the flat per rooms) and there was a psycho bitter woman that drove me nuts. Second year I went with a friend and another guy that I didn't know, and I ended getting along better with the last. Whatever, still better than being with your parents. These things make you a man.
snapchat sucks, but It produces the widest shots. Uh, the pics aren't great (fucking snapchat).
>hp and dell monitors
If it were not for the fact that my girlfriend was coming to live in Tokyo (Japanese finishing a study abroad) I would have kept it simple with just a mattress on the floor lol. I still hate this flooring and the color of the kitchen cabinet doors. Besides that it is cozy and in such a chill area.
Actually I do plan on purchasing plants I just haven't decided what ones or I'll just wait for my girlfriend.
I'm in Japan.
>glossy screen next to big windows
pic related would love to spread my seed.
She's at least 19
there's no reason to have to do that though. why not choose a nightstand that doesn't require that you move it in order for the bed to be functional? You could have a floating nightstand design.
besides that there's shit plugged into the wall on the nightstand. You'd have to unplug it every time you wanted to fully open the drawer. It's just bad design!
I don't have to unplug anything, and I almost never have to open that drawer. It's really not a big deal. Yes, I could go out of my way to buy a floating nightstand, but I'm fine using the one I already own.
looks pretty nice and comfy. I could come home to that.
same chairs! pretty cool, looks a bit like an ikea showroom though (take that at face value)
really nice, but a bit too moody for me. I assume you're into music?
me. Uh, it's a studio in downtown LA.Rent is $900. First time living away from the folks. I'm honestly going to miss the place when I move back to Atlanta. :( 3 closets, man.
pretty swanky. interesting vibe.
posters sorted by color, surprisingly nice idea.
Within this room you will find everything you need to be happy in greatest nation on planet. Every neighbor get same picture of blessed chairman. Is very for him to watch you sleep.
Do any of you have gardens?
One of my housemates got all of this shit for free last week.
The other side of my living room. Ignore the Beartato.
for resting your pillow against it to prevent your head from being too low compared to the rest of your body. Fucking important for me, i get migraines whenever i can't do it.
forgive the mess! i don't even know where to start in cleaning up this shithole. in my defense my parents and siblings dump everything in my room when they're not using it. only 3/8ths of it is used as living space.
hopefully when i move i'll decorate the place as to how i want it to be like!
Also, post "your room"? What the fuck. Having moved out of your mom's place should be a prerequisite for posting on this board. God damn. Why am I even spending time here, this place is filled with kids.
THE BAG I WANT!
color and all, selling?
Hasn't really changed since I took the picture ages ago
I had the same issue with the picture of my room when I uploaded it. Had to take two panoramic pictures and paste them together using a image editor because the Iphone got confuse with the lighting.
do you mind telling what you do for a living? just curious
Have you ever lived abroad for any significant amount of time ?
I've lived in Brunei for quite a few years of my life. Although a lot chiller than say other SEA countries, still brings me a lot of feels when I remember the little things.
>that atmosphere at night
>night time rain
>the smell of the air
>dem friendly locals
I could go on.
what camera did you take the picture of the camera with..
My room is missing a fucking bed frame low to ground. I just bought the simple metal frame until I find a low bed frame. That was 7 months ago, why the fuck are European bed frames are so hard to find in the states?
IKEA is too far.
wheres the pic of it unfurnished
im curious nao
This whole thread is making me jealous and sad that I am such a hoarder with items and thus have the messiest room that has no sense of style what so ever, plus the fact that I can't really afford a 'style' anyway, and thus get by with what I have accumulated since I was 15.
Also where do all of you buy your framed art and photos and how do you decide what art goes with your room anyway. I really appreciate styles, but seem to have no idea how to make it work for me. Ditto goes with clothes but don't care about that right now.
everyone on /fa/ is fucking rich
i live in my parents basement and have ikea furniture
I had to put into consideration that my girlfriend is coming to live here as well. Like I mentioned before, sure I could have just have had a mattress on the floor and be fine with it, but she is my priority after all.
If you guys have any questions about Japan in general let me know. (No I don't look at anime or a ken sama)
a good interior designer can work with whatever
there is or a small budget
ive seen some nice rooms that had ikea
because they knew good color combos
and where to set up certain things in certain parts of the room
and new what did and didnt work with the room
dont use being poor and living at your parents as an excuse to not try and make a nice room
With the language itself, well I went to a language school for half a year, after that I went back to the states and kept up what I learned with exchange students. If anything they allowed me in their groups, after that I lived with a Japanese girl (housemate) and she help me keep it up and more. Recently I took the N2 though most likely failed it, though I will be retaking it. During the winter in which I came back after my language school and in my Uni back in the states I met my current Japanese gf whom was/ is studying abroad. I'm mentioning this for the fact that I kept up my Japanese this way and expanded it.
If you want to learn the language, drop those horribly distributed Genki books and pick up Minna No Nihongo and Books geared for the exams. Also, I don't use English with Japanese here in order to keep it up and continuing improving it.
Japanese in general are somewhat fake, this is simply having to due with their fucked up beta culture, do I like Japan? I like Kyoto and all that old shit, do I like Japan for what it is now besides the technological advance society that it is? no.
>Is it hard as an English speaker?
Yes, if you only speak English, I have met people out here who have been here for years and still can't speak the most basic of sentences. Those are the fucks you don't want to spend time with. I avoid other foreigners like the plague and rather get into Japanese clicks or other non speaking Japanese Asian groups just so I can speak more Japanese. (This is all so I can pass the fucking test)
Furthermore, regarding fashion , most girls here dress far better than those back home. You see various styles here from cute (which disgusts me) and girls dressed up as though they are already house wives and sexy women who dress classy which I prefer most. As for guys, well their beta faggots and it shows in their faggoty styles.
I see cuties all over, question is how old they are, so I try not to look at the questionable ones.
The pizza sucks here, that pizza in that picture cost 70 dollars.
Also girls the pic in the previous post is quite related. Me and one of my better friends out here, she's a cool Japanese girl. Either you have your super beta bitches that don't look at you in your eyes or you have others that constantly look at you as though you're an alien. Than you have some that only wish to speak to you since you're a foreigner (I avoid these cunts the most) and then theirs others that just want to be your friend because they view you as a person.
Pic related, my Chinese friend who I met back at my prior language school. Chinese are direct with their words unlike the Japanese who beat around the bush.
If you want to live here, try to immerse yourself, don't be a Ken sama please.
I am not throwing away my heritage at all.
I served my country, I did my time in the middle east. I'm proud of my Mexican/American heritage
I get offended when these wanks ask me if I am Spanish or Italian. I want to improve my third language for business that's it, and speak to my gfs parents whom are from Hiroshima and don't speak a lick of English besides the basics.
God Bless the United States.
Quite disgustingly noticeable.
Though I must say drunk Japanese are quite hilarious.
What in the actual fuck of architecture is that arch good lord that's making me sweat how do you live with such a deformation of symmetry it looks like a glitched out texture from a game mate what the fuck
