I bought a replica of this in nam, up to u to decide if its fa or not but I like it.
by roy lichtenstein for anyone who cares
Antony micallef here..
Visual art is weak as fuck in all honesty tbh
Am I the only one who thinks this?
Like you can't look at a painting and take anything other than a small amount of gratification for how it looks cool
Music and film can make you cry and feel excited and angry
Paintings can't do that ever
That's why visual art is the weakest form of art
The only visual art I like is ignorant and pretentious cause it makes losers on /pol/ feel upset
This painting has made me in the past
its a canvas, these guys copied it from pictures on a laptop.
I should have taken pictures of the shop because the art was really good - only a person who followed art would probably be able to tell the difference.
>only a person who followed art would probably be able to tell the difference.
nah dude, most people can tell those.
just a printing studio chrining out high def photos on canvas then frame it in the back right?
its cool for beater houses and staging and shit but its not going to be worth anywhere near what you paid for it
even if you only paid like $50 it's still basically worthless
that he was able to capture life in all its stages in one painting
but mainly it's the way he paints. van gogh could paint a chair and make it look beautiful. and he did. that's why he is so popular, he wears his heart on his sleeve
plus his life at the time he finished it was pretty pathetic too
I'm actually working on an (cropped) offset print for this to place in my new home..
Herman Makkink mostly i believe, not sure if he did those milk bar stools.
Doing this one aswell on a submersion glass print- for the bedroom. It's so horribly gaudy, there's something about having deliberately ugly things on the wall, makes me happy.
really love this and want it to be printed and put it on my room. although ill be honest i dont know anything about this painting i just think it looks nice.
yeah exactly i dont even know what pompeii is lol sorry this wasnt thought back in my high school
Going to print off a bunch of drawings that accompanied the writings and have them all put together in a multi photo frame for my bathroom.
i can post a few i'd like prints of someday
i'm picking and choosing, dumped most of the dick ones already lol. dat freemason influence on the author i suppose.
So there where these fuckers going about their they when all of a sudden a volcano went BOOM MOTHERFUCKERS. These bitches didn't have time to run and they got instantly fossilized (pic related).
Shit would've been like an apocalypse movie.
Pompeii is also famous for the rad as fuck 'graffiti' they found there:
I.2.20 (Bar/Brothel of Innulus and Papilio); 3932: Weep, you girls. My penis has given you up. Now it penetrates men’s behinds. Goodbye, wondrous femininity!
I.2.23 (peristyle of the Tavern of Verecundus); 3951: Restitutus says: “Restituta, take off your tunic, please, and show us your hairy privates”.
I.10.4 (exterior of the House of Menander); 8304: Satura was here on September 3rd
II.2.3 (Bar of Athictus; right of the door); 8442: I screwed the barmaid
VIII.2 (in the basilica); 1820: Chie, I hope your hemorrhoids rub together so much that they hurt worse than when they every have before!
VIII.2 (in the basilica); 1864: Samius to Cornelius: go hang yourself!
VIII.2 (in the basilica); 1880: The man I am having dinner with is a barbarian.
Also, pics of flowers are great, thinking of getting one but might fuck up the monochrome theme of my room.
im a 3edgy5me metalhead so i really like Denis Forkas Kostromitin, Justin Bartlett, and John Baizley
a few years ago I performed on a 30 meter raplica of Marat,.... hes head alone weighted 60tons.
Roy Lichtenstein was a worthless garbage peddler. Most of the time he wasn't up to the aesthetic, composition, or anatomy standards of the comic artists he ripped off. No sense of volume, rhythm, or line weight.
his girls were always so fucking ugly compared to the originals
Only stuff I have on my walls, dunno what else to add to my room though
I have this hanging above my bed cause I'm cool and edgy.
I also have matted framed prints of Mr. Turniphead and an Akira image
Not really talking about the correctness of the lighting, just those lines he added give so much more information about the environment. And the fact really that a lot of artists would've never added those lines. It just adds something extra to the entire thing for me.
I want this statue I don't care how much I have to make to own it.
any professional artist would be honored to have someone care enough to deface their work like that
the arrogant artists are the assholes who went to cooper union or RISD and spend their entire lives being ironic and non mainstream and think they could paint the sistine chapel if they felt like it
