I've literally never seen Geo's irl
Saw a guy wearing white cp achilles mids while I wore my lows. We gave eachother a nod.
A dude in a store wore all black geobuckets. We talked about clothes for 30 mins. Never seen velcros or any other /fa/ items.
I've seen a lot of stuff, geos, raf holos, rafdidas, trent reznor wearing his pod shorts and rick boots...
What I haven't seen yet is someone wearing CCP drips or Y3 qasas
I'm in Paris so it helps
This is your homework for today. Fill in the 3 features for both shoes that let you tell the real one from the fake.
- offwhite sole, possibly different rubber?
- short tongue
) detail on the side doesn't connect to the bottom
) no zipper, longer tongue, eyelets seem further out
) shorter toe
is that okay?
I've never seen any of these things irl apart from wearing most myself
-Anything Rick Owens
-Anything Raf Simons
-Anything Ann D
-Anything Y-3 even
-Any other Nike Runners apart from Roshe and Free Run 2.0
There's more but I can't really think of anything. Amsterdam is not very fashionable really
>detail on the side doesn't connect to the bottom
On some geobaskets it doesn't connect to the bottom, it depends on the size of the shoe. Dreamboxes have really poor quality stiches on the back. This is what they should look like.
Back of some fakes, note the thinner sole too.
I've only seen Rick Owens, Y-3 and other Nike shoes in Rotterdam and at some festival.
I think the person I saw wearing Rick at the fesitval was an old tripfag, Lesbian Vampire Weekend.
Do you ever think about how many people (apart from your friends/fam/..) who see you actually know what you are wearing?
>dressing for anybody but yourself
I've had some people recognise my CPs and one person recognise this jacket which was pretty cool
Oh well, I made this anyway. Note the smell thing isn't a joke.
Some stuff i've seen more recently.
I saw a guy wearing raf velcro highs, but they were a really weird colourway and he looked like a massive faggot. Was really near LCF.
I saw a guy wearing dreamboxes who was sitting opisite me on the tube. I made sure he knew I was taking a picture on my phone while sniggering to myself.
I've seen a few guys in Common projects, one guy in Achilies black lows, he was also wearing a dress, and a couple of other non-fa uniform ones.
I also saw a guy wearing one of those dress nappy looking things with rick shoes.
Yay East London.
It's the weirdest thing I own at the moment and surprisingly enough the response among my friends has been largely positive. One guy said it sounded terrible but when he saw it he said he wanted to hate it but he actually thought it looked cool.
>hottest week in Toronto
>go to the subway
>reading da newspaper
>see a pair of clownshoes.jpeg
>the elusive goofninja,
>pants, asymmetrical shirt, hat, pullover or w/e its called
>this fucker is wearing all those layers
>in 42 C weather
if you can't tell the differences and claim to love the shoes you are a fuccboi
I've never seen dreamboxes in person but they probably look unbelievably shitty and the differences would be glaring inb4 some nerd who bought them and has never handled designer shoes comes in saying "nah dude they are great just like my nikes :) "
I have noticed on fakes (I have seen fake jordans some guy I know likes to buy smh) and the leather is always cut really half-assed and it's all crooked
the eyelets for the laces usually look bad as well
i live in a mall town in the middle of nowhere and a guy passed me in legit white geos yesterday
i've never seen any variation of flyknits irl
>going full goof to Six Flags
While I can appreciate Rick's aesthetics behind his style, things like these is what make me laff and realize that outside certain certains, goofninja is truly horrible and awkward
r/ing that screencap/pasta explaining this in detail
The only thing I've ever seen that gets any talk around here is CDG Play. Two asian tourists on separate occasions, both wearing white shirts with a big red heart face.
I've never even seen anything like roshes or stan smiths.
Saw some guy wearing carhartt pants but he was obviously some kind of construction worker.
lol not innawoods, just a backwards ass town of 60k
It's not even that small of a town, just maritime canada.
There are even a few retailers that sell roshes, but I haven't seen anyone wearing them.
I did however see a black guy in a comme des fuckdown beanie at winners lol. Couldn't stop laughing
i used to work at a mall where A LOT of Asians would come down from Vancouver to shop.
i've seen ONE pair of fake ricks, which I called him on and he got visibly flustered.
i've seen ONE fake Supreme x CDG hoodie, but she was HELLA chinese so i dont think she spoke enough english for me to rek her.
One guy came in wearing CP achilles lows and was surprised when i complimented them.
I've only seen geos once. There was a guy on a techno party dressed in full rick if I gathered correct (goofninja in any case), he had them. Was bald, chubby and had a hipster 'stache. Reminded me a lot of Fantano if he lost all his muscle mass. He looked very amusing dressed in all that as a matter of fact. Wouldn't be surprised if he browses /fa/.
>live in some backwater nowhere town
>in melbourne for the weekend
>saw two people wearing roches cross paths
>seen at least 3 pairs of 1461s
>only been a day
it's not supposed to be noteworthy seeing non-designer clothing...
going home is going to be like moving to the third world
live in SF, so i've seen a decent amount
saw a bald dude smoking in rick leather, a skirt, and rickdidas he looked rad
seen countless CPs, ended up sitting next to a dude at the airport and we both had white lows on
saw this dude in a great fit with full visvim and hender scheme new balances
never seen visvim fbts in real life, never seen any super high end workwear stuff like vibergs
Where the fuck did you see this in Adelaide?
I've only see MMM but they weren't gats
>tfw random compliments on your cp meme shoes
I've seen the same too except the hat was covered in buttons all the way around at a sort of art festival. Guy was shit talking about how he could do scrimshaw better than the person at the booth if he could just put his mind to it. Yeah. Certain class of people, y'know?
>came back to GA hometown from St. Louis
>used to seeing a few people dress semi-well at my college
>out in the city too, so I see people trying to impress
>everyone I know from high school dresses the same as they did in high school
>I brought flyknits, NB's, and some AA shirts and suddenly I'm four years ahead of my entire fucking town.
>only saw a few cool black guys when I went to the Mall of Georgia stoned.
I remember the first time I saw someone wearing rick it was a girl with the ramones boots and a long dress. I followed her for like a block for no reason just looking at her clothes. Fuck I'm weird.
this. The quality of clothing is so obvious up close.
Especially if you look at the notions on things. THe dreambox zippers are probably gross.
lmao that image
I'm aware that noone knows what I'm wearing really. I like it too because I'd get aspie if someone knew i spent $600 on shoes etc
One of the retail assistants at Gladys Sym Choon on Rundle has a strong designer sneaker collection. GATs, Adirafs, Raf Stan Smiths, Rick Tech Runners.
There's this one guy that I see all the time on Ebenezer with MMM x Converse chucks.
There's some guy at Adelaide Tafe that wears fucking Dream Boxes.
Plenty of Asians wearing Balenciagas, Balmains, Lanvins.
if u see somebody in the cbd wearing our legacy runners it's probably me :^)
>I'm aware that noone knows what I'm wearing really. I like it too because I'd get aspie if someone knew i spent $600 on shoes etc
this so much.
I would be so uncomfortable if someone who doesn't spend as much money on clothes knew.
i live in ny
seen geos a few times
black kid at my college has adirafs
own yeezy 2s
never seen red octobers and i go to a lot of rap shows/ratchet clubs where thats the thing
seen p much all ricks tho
I saw a short ginger guy with hair like that girl from that movie brave, wearing these DD creepers or I think it was these.
Also, saw an asian guy/girl the other night wearing some geos. Its was too dark to tell whether they were fake or not - LOL as if I could tell the difference anyway haha.
Spotted rafidas in the wild for the first time today.
I've seen Rick irl while I've been on exchange in Tokyo, and it looked pretty sick.
I've rafdidas a few times though, and they look even worse in person than they do on the internet. I really struggle to see the appeal
Not what I meant, I've haven't seen anything other noteworthy brands else I would've mentioned them. Amsterdam in general has very few fashionable people and a few Asian tourists with interesting fits. Most people wear Hypebeast like Obey or wannabe high-class stuff like Ralph Lauren polos etc.
>people walking down rundle wearing pyrex shorts
Fakes smell when you first get them as in they will make your whole bedroom smell but let them air out outside or in basement and spray deodorizing spray on them the bad smell wears off.
I've seen pretty much most /fa/ things in perth, not that often though, but saw this guy who was hypebeastin p hard. I've actually had /fa/ namedropped to me a few times in conversation with people about fashion
I was in Freo today and I saw a guy wearing a HBA shirt. Was also in the city, effay quality between the two is quite noticeable. Most effay guy was in skinny black jeans, docs, and a cable knit. Also saw a guy with Ramones in the old Myers building today. Was at Karrinyup on Saturday, 16-20 year old girls all dressing tumblr sports-goth without realising it as its just what's getting pushed here atm.
Personally would never cop anything grail, I don't earn enough to justify it, haven't seen anything amazing.
I saw a cute couple with matching HBA tops, and every now and then i see people wearing p decent stuff like undercover and neighbourhood. Its definitely not like sydney where ppl can buy this shit in a brick & mortar, but perth is peppered with ppl that kno their shit. Aren't they mildly pushing sports goth stuff at general pants? idk.
Most of the effay people I see are Asian, gay, or chill as fuck surfy looking guys rocking the austhetic.
General Pants is so irritating, its arming the plebs with memecore. The internet doesn't dress me but its pretty funny seeing every 18 year old in Stussy or Vision Streetwear. But hey, I'm a big box retail manager, and we're selling the the sports number shirts, and cargo / sweat pants and other shit.
Went and did all the mens stores in Northbridge and Freo today. Both were really disappointing, Pidgeonhole had some okay stuff but would not cop any of it. I'm happy to pay $$$ but not when I know the markups vs the quality of the clothing.
I won't lie, i'm always scared when i wear raf velcros. I'm scared that someone recognize the brand and judge my fit. I don't want him to think something like "he is wearing expensive clothes but he looks like shit" or "he is wearing expensive clothes but he is ugly and his haircut is terrible"
just imagine you wear them to the supermarket because they were the first shoes you grabbed at the door and someone takes a picture of you in your "whatever-I-threw-on-while-I-was-half-asleep + raf velcros"-fit and uploads it
have not seen geos in the wild, but have seen pretty much every other type of shoe/boot /fa/ has jerked to since 2009.
it's always on people that don't fit the stereotype of the footwear at all either which I really like. Madison can be kind of cool sometimes.
