why do you guys hate reddit? im not even joking, I like their style better
I like american workwear, but the whole idea of reddit and karma is ludicrous for such complex topic like Style.
You posted a pic of me btw, It's shitty as fuck, I know. But at least people have the balls to say it right into my face. Unlike, ehm well you got the point.
That's because you don't genuinely care about fashion. You just care about not looking like shit. A lot of people come to fa just wanting to learn how to dress better, but this board mainly focuses on high fashion.
2.) basic bitches
What other reasons do we need?
>this board mainly focuses on high fashion.
Reddit isn't so bad but it's filled to the brim with pleb idiots. fa, on the other hand, is filled with childish, pleb(for the most part) idiots. One isn't better in the terms of the prople being better, but the fits posted on reddit are usually better quality but the fits that make it to the top waywt are usually all the same. Diversity is the only thing that makes fa worth anything. But this place is still an absolute shithole filed with racist, immature children.
>cherry picking the most embarrassing fits posted on /fa/ in a while
Besides knoch all those are shit and even then it's definitely not Knoch's best fit by far
>cherry picking shitty fits with ok photography
None of the mfa fits are remotely fashionable or even interesting. The same can be said about /fa/ but at least most people here are self aware to how shitty they look.
I dont hate MFA
I think their style is outdated and formulaic
most of their user base are also sheep who wear the uniform and have no passion for fashion
for them fashion is just a means to an end, instead of liking it for the design and all the art that comes into making a piece of clothing
Only good fits on the right are 2 and 3 and they are pretty basic. The rest is pure basic bitch, not even great fits. The left is great, Knoch is amazing, only bad one is the last one.
Show me a runway in the past couple years by anyone who has put out stuff similar to mfa. The answer is almost no one. You are both confusing with being stylish and being fashionable. They do not mean the same thing at all. Again I'm not saying either is better although I do prefer /fa/ for the most part, but /fa/s interests definitely are more driven by actual fashion than mfa. I wish people would always stop going immediately to hyperbole there is no need for it and it only makes you look silly
>I dont hate fuccboi streetwear
>I think their style is outdated and formulaic
>most of their user base are also sheep who wear the uniform and have no passion for fashion
>for them fashion is just a means to an end, instead of liking it for the design and all the art that comes into making a piece of clothing
>fuckboys wearing the same levis black skinnies
>w2c cheap but quality boots under $50
>roshe run fly knits usually what I'm dressed in
>"I just got these red NBs how the fuck do I wear them post inspo for me :D"
>come de gar xon play
>who is le most effay musician
>oh my god w2c that tee with random japanese characters
nobody comes here for fashion advice except for clueless /b/ trash obviously the wawyt is going to be a trainwreck
this is /the/ banget hangout for snarky anorexic white boys that wear skin tight black four figure designer clothes (only 5% of effays poster count btw)
/fa/ tries to be fresh, reddit is more mainsteam.
Neither is inherently bad, just different goals.
I hate the edginess of /fa/, but will never follow the herd that is reddit.
Decide for yourself. I'm not saying mfa is sheeple, I'm saying you should find your own style and follow that.
Not saying there's not a lot of stale shit, but manbuns, for example, don't get the same hype they used to. They're not really played out yet, or even super mainstream, but they're basically "over" at this point.
One reason why i dont like mfa is because of the karma system. Some fatfuck posts awful fit and nobody can call him out in fear of the downvotes so they all just praise every fit. So the fatfuck thinks his fit is just fine and keeps dressing the same. Then the next manlet comes and posts his fit and thus the cycle continues.
The most ostensible difference ithat redditors have far better quality cameras than /fa/ggots. When will people on this board realize that taking shitty-quality selfies on dirty mirrors in poor lighting can make even a fantastic fit look mediocre at best?
/fa/ is ust begining their journey into discovering clothing
making mistakes that people made before
purple pants, converse branded with CDG play like it means anything, dressing in al back thinking it some how corelates into high fashion
reddit is further down the natural progression
they're over the fact that sure some jackets and boots cost well over $500 but hold up a while longer and are cut/fabricated with much more skill than cut and sew or fused and distressed items from lower end brands like ACNE.
while rick owens does have his higher end clothing made by brioni, it's not as rugged and long lasting as some more casual wear work wear oriented brands despite being in aboutthe same price range
look at the foot wear alone, addidas, converse, dream box on /fa/ side
on reddits side nothing but mid-high end boots
you fell for the quality-trap that a lot of clueless fashion males fall for. no one cares about muh craftsmanship. its all about the design. i have a pair of $25 501s for yard work that are 8 years old. that makes them "better" than a pair of rick pants that split a seam after 10 wears? newsflash: no one cares about their "quality". so you dont need to keep trying to justify your purchases like because soemthing is made to be more robust means its "worth" the money
dont know why people like you are here tbh. you'll be pleb and insecure til you die
no you live in them and don't look like some loser on the left
everyone knows a college kid is ust cosplaying fashion in his high street ripoff shit
you don't live that lifestyle, you look inauthentic
becuase you can't afford the real shit
>cant afford the real shit
what makes you think you're qualified to make this comment? you're a honda driving nerd with a net worth of 15 dollars (probably less since ur still paying off that car loan)
hating reddit is more of a meme tbh they are pretty much the same crowd as /fa/ (and 4chan in general
I personally hate the layout and wouldn't go there myself, but I know a lot of people who go on reddit and they are cool, I know a few people who go on 4chan and they are pretty lame
The worst fucking part of reddit is exactly that, bunch of old fucks with nothing better to do but lel at cat memes and go to their favorite subreddit and fap to what they wore to their pleb tier jobs.
fa looks like a bunch of cocksucking edgy bisexual
nihilists while mfa looks like people with lives
even if its dated, its better than the cockmongling monoshit that the slendermen of /fa/ keep regurgitating
you all came here because you're fuckin insecure and now you're even more insecure with a shit attitude to boot
The problem with MFA:
>encouraging outdated things and mediocrity
>most people don't know shit
>if they se a shit fit they will be like "oooh, so good, keep progressing" and shit like that
>opinions that don't conform to the majority don't have the same visibility as any other opinion
At least a lot of people are humble there, and want to improve.
Also, let's not forget we have people that dress like shit here too. But we say to their faces that the fit is shit.
ust you and a bunch of tumblr teens, the people that are actually dressed well are complimented
They all dress like old navy and dilliards/macys models
Scotsmen everywhere killing themselves.jpg
There are plenty of great fits in here and there are clearly a few in there for irony's sake.
You guys just just look at everything from mfa through a lens that's ready to completely rag on the first thing that jumps out at you and completely invalidate things that are even passable.
I did get tired of the boat shoes fits though.
You guys really think something like this looks bad?
You make a valid point, you really do.
Some people, however, just don't like having their clothes fall apart. Most of these people will be content with their $25 501s.
Others, however, will be far more content with the middle road between quality and style.
you're a troll
but levis 501 are pretty shitty looking/built/cut
rick is ust for cut
not known for high end clothing whatsoever
i have had my share of cut/style > build quality over time and it never really looks good
thats why you always look like you're wearing a halloween costue everwhere becuase your shit uses the same fabrics and construction methods as temporary costumes
4chan has at least a few people with a broad knowledge base on fashion with the vast majority being either underage or generally clueless mongs. I'd say there's a ton more more laughably bad fits here but If you flip through threads outside the waywts you can usually find grains of insight, especially if you ask directed questions knowledgeable people will come out of the cracks. I'd say most of these people crosspost sufu and stick around here for some of the banter and craziness that erupt pretty frequently. On the whole it's not a great place for fashion in general but at least it's funny.
Reddit tends to be the same formulaic pun responses and sappy constructive criticism that get groans from just about everyone but jump to the top of the page because of precedent + rules on what post content should be. You get a bunch of dudes posing in basic, boring garbage and posting basic, boring garbage and it ends up being basically unreadable. I just don't understand the motivation to go anonymously onto the internet and give nicely-phrased, pussyfoot advice to someone you know is dressed like absolute garbage (95% of /fa/ and mfa). If you look like shit and you put yourself out there you deserve to be fucking lambasted and laughed at. That's how I learned to buy actual nice clothing that reflect my personal style. Honestly, the /fa/ uniform doesn't get nearly as much hype here as it used to and people tend to promote diversity here to some degree. You're just inevitably going to have more interesting people come screaming out of this meat grinder than if you pat them on the back and give them a j crew ocbd and a lollipop.
MFA = americans, normal people with jobs, friends, girl friends, lives, etc. focuses on stuff that is wearable, socially acceptable, timeless, classic, not weird as fuck.
fa = europeans (the weird kind), autism galore, thinks style and fashion means high end weird crap that isnt wearable,
well, you get the point.
I think the most fashionable people on /fa/ don't post their fits on /fa/
i honestly go to reddit for basic inspiration. for really specific question and random lurking I tend to stick to /fa/, but over here they're basically all ninja nigger blackness whereas they're pretty diverse over at reddit.
TBH I look at streetwear and all I can think of is like, "this person made the pleb outfit of shitty thinkgeek or branded shirts and ugly ass trainers look slightly more intentional"
>>encouraging outdated things and mediocrity
>>most people don't know shit
>>if they se a shit fit they will be like "oooh, so good, keep progressing" and shit like that
>>opinions that don't conform to the majority don't have the same visibility as any other opinion
Just like /fa/ :)
/fa/ is just as dated too, always behind a couple of years when it comes to fashion, just look at all of these fucboi wearing Rick Owens and all of these bombers.
And /fa/ dresses like it's part of some underground art movement when really they just shitpost on an anime forum all day.
Keep in mind that everything on Reddit is sorted and on 4chan it isn't. So if you compare WAYWTs you probably compare the best of MFA with the average /fa/. In the end I think both communities are equally shit.
Reddit is this boring workwear & prep stuff with "muuh quality" circlejerk. 4chan is this boring
>I need to look like I'm straight off of the runaway of my favorite meme designer
>you're only dressed well if you payed $1000 to look like a clown
shit.... but at least 4chan allows me to call other people niggers.
>talking shit about a website
>while posting on that website
4Chan hates reddit because its too "mainstream". They seem ti forget that 4Chan is pretthy fucking high on the list of "Most Popular Websites in the World".
Reddit has shit fits, just like 4Chan does. Although we're winning since we have OiOi.
>Boo-hoo people disagree with me! They downvote me in a virtual space on an umimportant hipster forum? How will I ever manage?
Who the fuck cares, gb2tumblr if you're that sensitive.
Hint: Runway fashion is not fashionable. It's not designed to be fashionable, but simply a circlejerk for hipster who are running out of new ideas and therefore go to the extremes to create something that hasn't been there before - even if it looks like shit.
There is a reason nobody wears runway stuff in real life.
>he cares about downvotes
Do you also cry when someone on here calls you a fag?
>Oh no somebody has a different opinion, I'm not a part of the crowd anymore and my illusion of everyone loving me is shattered!
That's what you're saying. Kill yourself.
>Hint: Runway fashion is not fashionable. It's not designed to be fashionable, but simply a circlejerk for hipster who are running out of new ideas and therefore go to the extremes to create something that hasn't been there before - even if it looks like shit.
It amazes me people like this frequent fashion board
Like what the fuck, why
I swear this has been posted far too many times and should probably be in the sticky or something..
Reddit is for average people with average ideologies, people who stand out get downvoted, people with common interests get upvoted/exposure.
4chan is for the extremes, hence /mu/'s elitist taste in obscure music, /pol/'s toxic political views and then /fa/'s "edgy"/uncommon fashion sense/interest.
Sure, why not. Better than these soft faced children trying to look rugged and manly but end up looking even more like children. They're no different than the fedora lords they despise over there.
It's not that they necessarily dress bad, it's that they dress boring.
Memes aside, let's be honest here, this is all about trying to be edgier than other people. J. Crew normie core looks fine, but it just doesn't warrant any kind of discussion. It is what is is, played out and safe.
i never said it did you illiterate cum rag, I just said that they have a more obscure taste in music by definition. Not once did I say it was higher quality, it's completely subjective.
It's not like mfa can't dish out good advice. A lot of the more fashionable people there browse/post here too. It's just that mfa is a different level of formality which is more welcoming to newer people.
/fa/ gives way better advice about how people look overall, beyond their outfits though. People here call each other out on skin, hair, weight, etc which is good.
if you're going by that then you can state literally anything is meaningless.
You're were originally arguing that I implied obscurity correlated with quality which is what I never said and now you're pulling random bullshit in order to give value to your argument. You must be literally autistic and I feel sorry for you.
I was merely stating that reddit is for average trends and 4chan is for outliers.
>if you're going by that then you can state literally anything is meaningless.
>You're were originally arguing that I implied obscurity correlated with quality
>which is what I never said
>now you're pulling random bullshit in order to give value to your argument.
Aestheticism is not "random bullshit".
You don't even know what that word means.
No because you're just looking to argue. You know for a fact that life has no end goal, and you could kill yourself right now and it would have no effect on the world. Same with myself, same with any major figure. It literally doesn't matter. People give meaning to it because it makes them feel better about their shitty life.
"obscure does not correlate with quality, you retarded pleb"
>Aestheticism is not "random bullshit".
Yes it is, because it has nothing to do with what I was originally saying.
>You don't even know what that word means.
Do you want to argue more about how you can use big words and call me a pleb? I'm awake for about 7 more hours.
>No because you're just looking to argue
>You know for a fact that life has no end goal, and you could kill yourself right now and it would have no effect on the world. Same with myself, same with any major figure. It literally doesn't matter. People give meaning to it because it makes them feel better about their shitty life.
How does that prove that I implied anything?
>Yes it is, because it has nothing to do with what I was originally saying.
It has to do with what I was saying and where this pitiful excuse of an argument led to.
>Do you want to argue more about how you can use big words and call me a pleb? I'm awake for about 7 more hours.
All on you, either way I'll have the last word.
