why does my fake rolex look so good edition
anything quartz and from a good brand, without any fake jewels or gaudy shit.
women don't appreciate the inner workings of things so mechanical is a bad idea.
Looking for a recommendation on a watch for sailing (guess i need at least 10 atm water resistance) that I could wear casually. needs to be under 40mm and 300$
Looking for a recommendation on a watch for hunting (guess a good field watch could do the job) that I could wear casually. needs to be under 40mm and 300$
I wouldn't trust anything less than a 200m diver, it's not like those are hard to find anyway. SKX007 is good but its 42mm, I think there's a slightly smaller variant which is almost the same thing, maybe look into that.
Please be more vague? Jesus Christ.
Here's some examples of qualities you might be looking for.

Me trying on my friends Root Beer GMT Master II. Pretty damn awesome looking watch in person, the pictures don't really do it justice.
And my Tudor, with a few updates. Got the original steel bezel tightened, so it fits great now, and I put some cheap Chinese Ranger-style hands on it, because fuck it why not.
Just found this randomly, I not a fan of Tag but I really like this Carrera
I can't get over the stainless case but gold indices and hands, I hate mixing metals like that. I want to like the owlpenis though, other than that. That dial reminds me of those cool green desk lamps that movie detectives use.
Rolex's implementation of the antimagnetic system prevents it. The entire movement is encased in a piece of iron, only the hand pinions stick out.
That's why milgauss a shit compared to aqua terra.
Superconducting watches when? Look up the Meissner Effect, it's cool.
And by cool I mean below critical temperature
You're just going to have to come to terms with the fact that the milgauss is dildos. Behold your new god.
hey, nigger. do you know what master coaxial means? you don't, because if you did, you would realize that it's the aqua terra 15k gauss movement and they've begun putting it in other watches,
Everything labeled Master Coaxial is 15,000 gauss resistant even if it isn't labeled on the dial. Master Coaxial also means it has a silicon balance spring, it's shock resistant, and it's COSC certified.
Seriously dude, why do you obsess over watches.
Look, i get it some watches are nice accsesories and are required for certain events.
But i mean look at your picture there, fake rolex, a few bargin bin watches on some really cheap looking straps.
Honestly, i have a beater phone worth more than all of the watches you have shitty galaxy s5 in a shitty brushed alum case and i only use that phone in the rain....
I have a watchbox worth more than your nicest watch....its not even a nice watch box
You just post about these watches you buy or make couterfeits of out of spare incicta parts all day everyday dude.....
Its fucking sad
You boast about the features the real watches have and proudly display a counterfeit item as if it were the same quality
What do you want out of all this? You cant even display your pitiful collection properly
watches are a side hobby of mine, the only thing I actually put money/effort into these days is lifting
I am glad that you apparently have enough money to outspend a college aged poorfag, that's a sign that your life isn't completely in the dumps
too bad you're still a fag
lots of people outlift me. to normalfags pulling 405lbs is impressive, but to /fit/ that's nothing
but for slightly under 1yr of lifting, I'll take it
you know who doesn't outlift me?
Do you think that you're funny or something?
cop or not
if not where can i get good watches in this style (military?)
oh, no. that style is called bauhaus. although that is a bit of a deviation from the standard bauhaus style
that watch is dildos because
>black coatings suck cocks
>fucking huge case diameter
basically you should go lurk amazon for a cheap seiko/citizen you like and then grab a leather NATO off cheapestnatostraps to switch out for the bracelet the watch will come with.
you could get the official /g/ memewatch
or a weekender, but I wouldn't recommend that as much
sieg is gonna have an autism fit in a few seconds, disregard him
>>Oh, yeah, it's like your mom's dirty whore tit.
>you know who doesn't outlift me?
You're talking as if that means anything.
You know who's a lot more poor than I?
See, I can do it too, but it doesn't mean anything. Except that I'm more rich than you.
To get bitches. My family is ok, so people would assume I was wearing real shit. Don't do it anymore because I'm older now, but I got a shitload of pussy because of my ultra fake Prezadent Rowlax.
I want to get in on the shit posting, I feel let out by being in a different Timezone.
Everybody in this thread is a gay cunt and you should come fight me
-Yours sincerely Josef "The People's Champ" Stalin
My dad has a collection.
He gave me a real submariner, I lost it diving, the diving clasp opened and it dropped in between some corals lol fuck me
I wore a fake one for like a year no one even noticed til I could buy an original again :)
My fake was 300€ tho, it really looked original and danced also.
Some fakes are so good you won't notice.
It's not about being rich. Most girls won't notice the watch brand until youve actually spent some with them and they get to look.
Expensive watches look more classy, just for the materials and finish they use.
I wouldn't feel anything unless I was trying to flaunt it around saying I'm wealthy, if you are after particular designs sometimes getting a fake is the best option. Although I would never personally get a fake, would rather just embrace the history and designs of affordable watches
>Stop stealth bragging.
What does this mean? I'm not rich.
I just have to settle for never getting a nice Rolex.
>Also, it's not just the watch. Being a nice guy with charisma and being attractive helps. A lot.
Thus the "to get bitches" argument is invalid.
Not that guy but you're dumb.
We're talking about the reason behind wearing fakes and how the other guy got bitches thanks to wearing one.
Nobody asked you to move goalposts and provide askmen dating advices.
>I just have to settle for never getting a nice Rolex.
What kind of attitude is that? An attitude that will ensure that you'll indeed never be able to get yourself a nice watch. Have some ambition, man.
Ayy what's poppin' my fellas?
Oh so you can't even maintain a logical conversation, fantastic. Thanks for illustrating what kind of people wear fakes.
You were a stupid teen wearing fake rollo to get bitches, verbatim, and you grew up to be a stupid adult.
>Jesus, what's wrong with you? Oh wait, we're on 4chan.
What was wrong with my post?
We were discussing why people were fakes, and the argument was "to get bitches" which has been invalidated more times in this thread.
Which one should i get?
Leaning towards the blue one...
Difference is, I'm not talking shit like sieg. if I were to go "lol ur a total poorfag" you'd have grounds because that'd be completely hypocritical.
I totally get that sentiment. I got total buyer's remorse immediately after buying the watch because I was afraid that everybody would look at my watch and ask me all sorts of questions about it.
Turns out nobody gives a shit about people's watches which allows me to just wear the watch for myself. Once you get past the whole 'being a replica' bit, it's a really nice watch.
Where do you learn about fakes and which ones are good and stuff like that? Is it replica watch forums or what? I haven't bothered to register for any because I hate forums and they all sound like they have annoying shitty communities.
Posted in wrong spot before.
3 year old skagen thats beat to shit but I still like it.
They are all annoying shitty communities. 4chan is the only place that I can stand.
I don't actively browse RWI but I do look at reviews, comparisons, and teardowns of movements from there. That's all it is, really.
this also allows for me to save other people the hassle of dealing with other watch communities because I've already gone through it. if you ever want a rep, you can just use /fa/ or /g/ as your RWI.
Poorfag here. Scraped together what was left in my budget to buy this Seiko. Planning on buying a Parnis next for formal occasions; my job graciously allows me to dress however I want (they cut the IT dept slack) but I am sent to conferences where suits are worn. Would like something under $250 that would look nice with a suit. What do you think of this?
As a side note, that logo means it's a single quartz.
There's another type like pic related that's twin quartz.
Very nice piece btw, especially the texture of the dial.
The other day I was eyeing a blue king quartz on ebay, but it went for a bit more than I'm willing to pay for a quartz.
if only the face wasn't full of advertisement for the watch. that's what made me not get one.
Casio are fucking retarded. Also, enjoy your shitty plastic case and glass. at least it has EL.
here's mine. took me a while to find a decent one but this one has mineral glass and an alloy case. you can only order those from germany though.
do you guys have any particular blue+silver dress watches that you like?
here are some of the ones I like
I'm not a big fan of the gigantic watches that usually appear in these threads. What's the appeal? They seem too garish for me.
What is fa's opinion of the Cartier Tank? I think if I were to buy a watch that's not a Timex, it would be this.
Is there a /fa/ consensus on Deep Blue? Not necessarily the one in the pic but the brand. Are they more function over form or can they look nice too?
>Difference is, I'm not talking shit like sieg
But you are, listen:
>lel, i bet I lift more than you fagget
That's literally what you said, and you have no grounds to make this assumption, unless you know how much he lifts.
And what does it matter if it's hypocritical or not? Lifting doesn't have anything to do with watches.
Why would I want a watch that is copying Cartier's style but with a gimmick that only makes it thicker, when thinness is a selling point?
It's nice to see that someone else has taken the style though, it must be somewhat popular.
Funny you say.
Cartier uses JLC's movements.
JLC has been in the watch making game for a century before Cartier.
Cartier is better known as a jewelry house, and their watches are mostly used by women and people don't know anything beyond Rolex and Omega.
And the Cartier tank is a QUARTZ. Nothing's wrong with quartz inherently though.
You like it? Good for you.
JLC has been in business since 1833 but they made the Reverso in 1931. The Cartier Tank was made in 1917.
It is older than I though, considering the strange gimmick, I will have a look at it.
Guy who's never owned a watch before.
How do you match coloring? Does it matter? If I'm wearing a basic white colored shirt with dark jeans would wearing a blue watch be a bad idea? Or something, I don't know.
no it would probably not clash but in a lot of cases, blue faced watches don't go well together with all outfits. however, black dials work with literally everything and are the easiest to read.
Can I have first thoughts on whether or not this watch is fashionable?
Not talking about the movement quality, watch quality, or asking /g/entlemen
I like it a whole lot but I like the white dial version even more because it looks more like the kawaii grand seikos that I can't afford. It's a nice conservative looking watch that looks very simple and plain at a distance so you can hide your power level, but it's seriously beautiful up close.
And since you didn't ask I'll also tell you that the movement quality is great and the quality of the case and dial are supposedly a cut above the cheaper black SARB which is already excellent.
The downside I forgot to mention is that it's discontinued and probably pretty hard to find so I don't know how much you would have to pay. There's always the SARB033 though which is pretty similar, still in production and in stock everywhere, and a lot cheaper.
/g/ is way more /fa/ than /fa/ when it comes to watches, m80.
most of /fa/ wears shit like this, the only reason you don't see them here is because they get shouted out by the niche group of people with actual taste.
>implying it isn't just the same here, except with the gold one
i believe you guys call it "retrocore"
So are you really that dead set on that watch? If so then just go for it but I wouldn't pay that much for it. Check out seiya and look at all the black dial JDM Seikos you can choose from for that money. Hell you could save up a bit for a real grand seiko for like 2 grand.
Torobravos. He's either kill or is getting a new domain again.
What that means is you can't get the same watch/bracelet combo because as far as I know he was the only person that sold it.
You can still get the watch on an oyster bracelet from puretime, though.
Keep your life simple.
Stick with silver, black or gold tones as much as possible. Those go with anything.
If a leather or cloth band, choose black, period. Any other color MAY go with whatever you want to wear; black WILL go with it.
The face of the watch shall never be wider than your wrist, period.
If you're going to be wearing it to classy functions or with any long sleeve shirt, make sure the watch isn't so huge that it hangs up on your shirt sleeve.
Anything else is up to you, but the keys to remember are doesn't draw unwanted attention to itself and keeps your look clean.
What's the point of buying an expensive authentic watch instead of a cheap, really good replica when people think it's fake anyways
it's not always about showing off to others, and if that's how it is for you, you should probably reconsider your life
very few of these "cheap. really good replicas" can even come close to owning up to the original, and the ones that do a.) aren't cheap and b.) usually accomplish this by frankensteining genuine parts in.
How bright is the lime on those dials?
I think I'll either go for Hamilton or marathon, if I can manage to get my hands on a limited edition general purpose with stainless steel case for a good price...
I need the best, durable, FUNCTIONAL watch possible.
To get an idea of what I want, imagine you were in the outbacks of Australia, the jungles of Asian and African countries, in rugged areas in Canada and the U.S trying to hike around.
That's what I need, something that can withstand wildly varying temperature changes, maybe falling from good distances, waterproof, etc.
Once again, emphasis on functionality.
Thanks for the help to anyone who can.
You're an idiot.
White and beige dials are the ones that are versatile and go well with any strap colour.
Black is seen as a casual/sport look, is more inconspicuous but looks off on brown or straps cloured differently than black.
Blue offers a middle ground.
> FUNCTIONAL watch possible.
>To get an idea of what I want, imagine you were in the outbacks of Australia, the jungles of Asian and African countries, in rugged areas in Canada and the U.S trying to hike around.
so a quartz solar-powered eco-drive with day date, chronograph, sapphire crystal and at least 100 WR.
Of course any automatic divers with similar features can also do the job, but since we're talking functionality here.
That's why I got me one of these. Similar overall size, but bigger display and less crap around the bezel. (Still not a real metal body from what I can tell, but it hasn't started wearing off or anything yet.)
by a company called TP Time Piece.
don't ask me how to buy it though because I think they don't ship internationally but if you're in a german speaking country then amazon sells it. that's where I found it.
this is the watch, yes. ridiculous price compared to the Casio stuff. only cost me about €15 in total (minus shipping).
are red silicone straps like this one effay?
Sinn does make that one oil-filled diver which is quartz, but that seems more like a very specialized thing. Quartz is inherently more durable because of the fewer moving parts, but it's even better if you get a digital watch which completely eliminates all the delicate little motors and hands. I know military people are always talking about how great Suunto is, something like that is probably an even better option.
They literally don't. Not any more than other colours at least. You could argue that the watch is separate from the rest of the outfit and that any fairly discreet dial colour goes with anything, but if you don't agree with that then no black doesn't go with *literally* anything.
those suunto look really nice. they got some nice pieces on their website.
but their pricepoint is a bit crazy at €299-590.
you're better off with a g-shock then which does the same job for cheap and has a compass like those suntoo. I wouldn't go adventuring with a watch that cost me a fortune. it's pretty stupid.
Which rolex dio you want?
>I want a fake speedy
We all do. There's no good ones, nobody can get the subdial spacing right. All the fakes look like they have Downs.
Fake Rolex is easy, Torobravos was very good but his site disappeared and he may or may not be coming back so you might want to wait. If not then pure-time is also supposed to be good, just pick out the one you want and then ask here to confirm that it's a decent fake because some are better than others.
Why does lume make me so rock hard?
best != good
but here you go.
Cyclops magnification, date font, and date window depth are all good. Font spacing is also good. The other big thing I usually check is the finish on the bezel but it's too smudged for me to tell.
W2C rasta/reggae/Jamaica NATO strap?
babbys first watch here, bought a cheap one that I think looks good.
when I saw a picture of it online before ordering, I was 100% set on changing the strap, but now that I have the watch, I actually don't mind it. I'm planning on wearing it with everything so I'm not sure if an all black strap would be better, also the quality of the current one is pretty bad, there are already cracks around the holes on the strap. should I change it?
I'm about to be away from home for 8 weeks due to work, when I get done with this project its new to me watch time. I'm torn between a speedy pro or an explorer 2 white dial. Which should I get? With that being said they both will eventually be mine it's just a question of which one first.
Pic related, my current piece, will be my beater after new watch purchase.
>reduced speedy instead of professional
>dislikes Mercedes hands
Fuck it, here goes nothing. Assuming I've got this guy regulated correctly, and I believe I do, I'm finally putting this up for sale. Its running far from perfect from a watchmakers perspective, but I've fought with this for way too long and I know when there's just no more progress to be made without dumping a lot of money in to it. It should be keeping time very well (again, checking it over today and tomorrow), and the only thing that the average person would notice is that the power reserve is shit, only like 15 hours. However, I wore it for about a week and only wound it when I woke up and when I went back to bed and the automatic mechanism kept it well wound the rest of the time. There's a bit of rust on the minute and second hand, but its hard to see unless you look up close and with good light. The hour hand and crystal are brand new and both in great condition. The case has a good sized dig in it at the top right, but the rest of it is in pretty good condition and has patina to match the dial, which looks great with the blued steel hands. The leather strap is basically brand new, but I did accidentally order a long version so it won't fit skelly wrists. The watch itself is pretty small by modern standards, about 33mm across not including the crown, but I stopped noticing how small it was after a few days. I can post more pictures and answer questions if anyone has any. I'm asking $150 including shipping, which isn't much more than I bought it for, just because of how "poorly" the movement is running, even though its keeping time very well (should be at least, will confirm tomorrow). And dammit, we're almost at bump limit, so I'll just post this again next thread.
I would advise against buying this watch, small diameter watch in below average condition he is attempting to flip
$150 will buy more watch in better condition as well as new in modern fit in the midrange watch world.
If used is your thing $150 will buy more watches than /g/ owns, he only has about $50 in preowned budget watches
Any opinions on omega vs rolex for a first in house movement?
is hating invicta pieces a meme on this board?
some are nice if you are willing to shell out. Iv never had an issue with my invictas, but you get what you pay for, right guys?
These are all my current pieces, the nixon will be purchased in a few months.
With the exception of maybe this one
>i'm too poor for a rolex - the watch
>the physical manifestation of le mnml taste classy xDD reddit
>tactical super hardcoor racing watch
>i'm a massive prepcore faggot that wears quartz watches made by fashion brands - in watch form
I like Omega better in general but both are good. If you really want to nitpick about muh manufacture then you could argue that Omega movements are built on top of ETA movements but they get away with that because they're all part of Swatch.
The fuck is wrong with u?
Another watch that will make your eyes bleed.
Phone dumping is a pain in the ass.
Last one. Gotta lift and do some paper work before bed.
Poorfag coming through.
Hands broke ages ago but that's what you get for $20
One thing that bothers me most about fakes is that the one guy out of fiftty who recognizes the brand will also know it's a fake, not necessarily by the technical aspects only but from the person wearing it, his age/style/other clothing etc. So basically for most a Rolex might just well as be mall tier 50$ watch and the one guy who you could flex at because he knows about watches will also know yours is a fake. So what's the point really?
The point is that it's a nice looking watch and if you buy a quality fake then they're functionally perfectly good midrange watches at an excellent price. If you're buying a fake to impress others then it'll only end in embarrassment like you said. In my opinion, buying a real watch just to impress others is completely missing the point and it's about as embarrassing.
> if you buy a quality fake then they're functionally perfectly good midrange watches at an excellent price.
This was a 300$ rep Rolex:
btw I've been looking other watches from that company and I think they are a steal. pic related has fucking 20 bar (!) WR and that one only costs €50. seems pretty amazing. those would normally cost triple the price. they say they use citizen and miyota movements too.
if you're a watch elitist who hates quartz, then you may ignore this post.
what's this? a citizen military styled watch that isn't bulky as shit? seems like citizen is more interesting all of a sudden.
Hey guys, I have a seiko snk803. Pic related. I want to get a leather strap for it. Should I get a light brown, dark brown or black strap?
eco drive bm6770
got it through ebay, I think the model's only marketed in some asian countries.
There are good replicas, and there are shit replicas.
Mine is good both externally and internally. The movement is actually lubricated properly, all of the seals have been greased, it's actually water resistant beyond the rolex spec for the datejust, the bracelet is very high quality, the AR is perfect, and the solid endlinks fit very well. Movement is accurate after regulation and other guys have determined that these datejusts run at a good amplitude from the factory.
And mine was $230. You can't judge all replicas by a single anecdote, you have to remember that they're all made by different "brands" despite having the same name on the dial.
