Q: what is the most effay country in the world?
Q: are there any members of 4chan's fashion board worth subscribing to?
A: i strongly encourage you subscribe to !L7l54FaA2E, whom i belive to be /fa/'s most educated and informed fashion guru
Q: thanks for the suggestion. now moving on to the topic of STREETWEAR 2016, could you giv us a short intro?
A: well yes, it is a new cultural movement with its roots in high fashion and casual luxury. it is being kept under wraps by global fashion powerhouses and media, but i am now sharing with you part of what i believe to be one of the most important historical events of all history.
Q: wow that sounds great!! so tell us, what makes STREETWEAR 2016 different from all of the other fashion trends we have seen before?
A: good question! if you take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Western_fashion you will see a brief synopsis of the countless trends and micro-trends experienced by the Western world in the last millenium.
what sets STREETWEAR 2016 apart is its underlying message - one that dares to defy authority, spread the truth, and bring power back to the people.
Q: you mentioned bringing power back to the people; tell me more about what you meant by that?
A: ah yes. as you may already know, our world is more interconnected than ever before. however, no artistic movement has fully taken advantage of globalization to this extent before.
STREETWEAR 2016 has a very simple and accessible message that knows no borders or boundaries
anyone can take part in the movement regardless of age, gender, sex, nationality, height, religion or any other factors.
STREETWEAR 2016 is designed for today's youth who are willing to keeep an open mind, and have a burning desire for fashion, art, and all that is beautiful. most importantly, we all have a sense that there is something slightly wrong with the world, but rarely can we place our finger on it.
STREETWEAR 2016 promises to answer all these questions and bring the human race into a new age of knowledge and enlightenment.

I have been reading up on Kanye and listening to his music, and I have come to the realization that he is one of the greatest minds in music and art of all time
If you have not done so yet, I implore you to take the time to Kanye west's music; it tackles huge issues of inequality, consumerism etc. in an extremely innovative format.
I must have these shoes...
Apparently it's rafdidas from 2013 so they're not for sale any more...
Anybody know where I can get them? Money is no concern
off topic w2c shirt on the right? reeee you remind me of hanna murray
I believe you're correct.
Kanyes first album was recorded shortly after he was involved in a horrific car crash nearly ending his career/possibly life. His music/life is largely throwing in our faces what we don't want to see...much like the great artist of past Nina Simone, who most likely greatly influenced Kanye. Nina and more recently Kanye present to us (white America) the fact that we were terrible to their people but I also feel that Kanye is embarrassed by much of the black community for still holding on to their past so much it keeps them from being able to find success as a group.
Kanye is a great artist, he makes people feel, maybe it's mostly anger but still a successful artist always makes the viewer feel...
Yeah, you're absolutely right.
A lot of people who don't know his background and listen to just 1 of his songs might assume he's just arrogant or a douchebag, while he's quite the opposite.
If you start from his first album, you'll notice that despite the idealization of degeneracy (eg substance abuse, sexual promiscuity), his songs still manage tell an inspirational story of how he started his career at a time when nobody believed in him. This was groundbreaking at the time, and it is the reason why The College Dropout is hailed as one of the greatest rap albums at all time.
As you go through Kanye's discography, you start to see the degeneracy being replaced with more meaningful thoughts: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a beautiful (hehe) album that reflects his emotions after being dumped by his fiance and suffering the death of his mother, not to mention the incident with Taylor Swift at the VMAs. Not a lot of people know this, but he moved to Hawaii to isolate himself while making the album and just have time to gather his thoughts. You can tell from the cold lyrics of the songs that he has not lost hope in himself, despite the criticism he was receiving from the world.
His most recent album, Yeezus, is definitely one of a kind. He manages to revolutionize the music world yet again; you can listen to once and you'll know right away that there is nothing like it.
>nothing like yeezus
wrong. While I agree with most of what you said, a lot of Kanye's albums actually set the trend for production in music that followed (808's is a great example of everyone jumping on vocoder after Kanye). Yeezus was the only exception. In fact it was the first time Kanye didn't really innovate at all.
the industrial grimy dark production was actually being used in underground rap long before Yeezus was released (Death Grips). All Kanye did was take elements of this production style and water it down to make it more listenable. In the end it didn't work because Yeezus wasn't commercially successful, but all he did was take a style and fuse it with MBDTF and simplify it.
Yeezus was Kanye's first lazy album, lazy production and lazy lyrics and lazy story. Kanye didn't have much to say other than he thought people were being racist for not accepting his fashion design.
Carefully curated collection of Kanye's best songs:
New Slaves (Yeezus, 2013)
Undeniably one of his best songs, New Slaves a beautiful piece about social and economic inequality, America, racial stereotypes, and most importantly, consumerism.
The song's title, "New Slaves", is refers to the reality that while African Americans are no longer enslaved by chains, we are all (yes, all of us) now enslaved by consumerism. Being a forum about fashion, I'm sure many people here can relate to it.
Many have criticized Kanye West for being a hypocrite; he berates those who are "Spendin' everything on Alexander Wang", but he himself is known for lavish spending on clothes and other material possessions. Is the song just bullshit that's written to appeal to the masses? Of course not. The messages in the song still remain completely relevant, and are very thought-provoking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT3swdCJrrg
Actually agree; the production techniques used in the album are nothing new compared to those in his previous albums.
Yeezus certainly wasn't his best, but it wasn't bad at all.
It still has some good songs: most notably Black Skinhead (which I don't doubt for a second will become a classic), Blood on the Leaves, and of course, New Slaves.
the coolest styles from his personal collection
I think it's cool too!
Moving on, another Kanye song I really love is "Welcome to Heartbreak", from his 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak. I think this song is really underrated.
It's a short song; it's not filled with catchy rhymes or anger like some of his other songs. The strong sound effects he is known for are stripped away, leaving his feelings naked and vulnerable.
The song is cold. Haunting.
Kanye has everything, but he still feels like he is missing something in life:
"My friend showed me pictures of his kids /
And all I could show him was pictures of my cribs /
He said his daughter got a brand new report card /
And all I got was a brand new sports car, oh"
Somehow, you are able to sympathize with him. Very few of us will ever be as influential, rich and famous as he is, but his message still hits home very hard:
"Chased the good life my whole life long /
Look back on my life and my life gone /
Where did I go wrong?"
It makes me wonder: when I'm old and grey, am I going to regret the things I did or didn't do, the opportunities I took or didn't take?
omg rare pigfuck!!! do you have any others??
One of his best songs lyrics-wise: Good Morning, which is the first song in Graduation (2007).
Everything about this song screams "genius", even the title. The aptly-named "Good Morning" is a wakeup call. It doesn't just wake the listener up for the album ("Homie this shit is basic, welcome to Graduation"), but it's also a wakeup call for himself ("Wake up Mr. West, Mr. West /
Mr. Fresh, Mister, by himself he's so impressed") and the world:
"Good morning, look at the valedictorian /
Scared of the future while I hop in the DeLorean /
Scared to face the world, complacent career student /
Some people graduate, but be still stupid"
Some more upbeat shit:
A collaboration with some great rappers, and surprisingly, Nicki Minaj doesn't suck at all. No deep meaningful shit, really fun and the rhymes are catchy.
Just a huge "fuck you" to all his haters. It has that vain, egoistic attitude that Kanye is well-known for and a lot of us love.
Agreed! I'm glad you like Kanye too!
bump, anybody know where i can get ozweegos in any red colorway?
none on ebay :$
i'd buy any of these
haha why don't you buy them for your gf chuck ; - )
They're nice, but not loud enough for the aesthetic I'm going for.
These are really cute, but they'd be so much better if the yellow straps were shiny gold instead ;;
The other AF1 model I like. The branding draws attention, but the design of the shoe itself is too plain for me
And yeah, Cara dresses like shit lol
AF1s are also tumblr-tier by now, same as white Superstars, low top Converse etc.
That puts me off a bit too
This outfit good?
Yes I'm well aware they're like from like 2013 (three years ago). Which is why I can't find them anywhere...
Thanks for your post though.
The concepts themselves are nothing new, but that's not the idea. New Slaves isn't meant to be an essay; it's just 50-something lines of rap that communicate complex concepts very well.
Nice buzzword, never seen that before.
this chick has sick brows
frick your mom you piece of chit
Oh okay. I don't watch TV shows
i fuckin love snakes
wow this shit is kinky
they're girl jeans and the color is black
