Is Barbell row or Pendlay row?
The guy in the video does pendlay row instead of barbell row because he is taking the eccentric movement out of the lift. But the routine says to do Barbell row
I can barbell row 80 lbs 5x5
Bench press 120 lbs 5x5
Squat 90 lbs atg 5x5
Ohp 70 lbs
DL 120 lbs 1x5
But the routine says to start with 50% of my 1RM.
What to do?
Barbell row = pendlay row
Don't do SL, it's a meme routine for couch potatoes, and the progression is shit and you deload all the time. Do a proper program like SS and enjoy more gains and being stronger.

So /fit/ on Saturday I start a paid, full salary, with benefits career in a major city fire department. I've worked hard to get here, and I'm so close to making it. I have to go through an academy the first 6 months, so I was hoping someone here wouldn't mind throwing me some tips and motivation my way.
I'm excited, nervous, and all around gitty at the prospect of this thing. I've never been to a bootcamp before, but I have an idea of the discipline, yelling, and what is generally expected.
What steps did you take to get hired? This is my goal after a get a degree and finish school. From what I've heard the physical requirements are retardedly easy and are kind of a joke, as for the boot camp aspect you just have to accept it. You're gonna be treated like shit, just value the experience and know you're gonna have a great job. I'm jealous though, good job dude
So I'll be honest: Your degree doesn't mean shit. And your right on the physical requirements. My department doesn't even have a physical test, just a physical/medical.
The way I got hired was I got my state EMT and kept my nose clean. I volunteered as a firefighter for 8 years prior, but they didn't give 2 shits about that. My EMT though got me 3 extra points on the civil service test so I scored a 103, ranking me ridiculously high out of the 10,000 that took it.

I want to lower my bodyfat levels as fast as possible so I started almost starving myself for 2 days now and I feel extremely weak at the gym. Should I bail and just start eating because I feel weak and sick? I just wanna look swole.

starving yourself isn't going to work and isn't sustainable. you'd know that if you did a small amount of research.
lay off the sugar, drink water, eat lean sources of protein. do full body workouts. burn most of your calories through intense workouts, not cutting back on food

Whenever I try to hit a deep squat (I normally squat lowbar and just break parallel), my calves take a beating and I can't put any pressure on them (especially any kind of squat) for a few days.
Any ideas besides squatting wide and rolling?
