Yep. Had it for a couple years now. Mine doesn't hurt or cause any discomfort outside of the heaviness in my left nut. Been lifting heavy no problem. Have any of you went to the doctor for this? Is surgery necessary?
I used coffee to help blood flow...ya when I first felt it I was like wtf ... do I have the big C...then after ultrasound revealed otherwise. Makes me wonder if any of these celebrity types suffer any medical condition and I mean people like Chris Evans or Robert Downey Jr...but who knows another thread.
Most doctors say surgery isnt neccesary as there isnt a significant effect on test and sperm counts for most people. However, some doctors say that whilst your test and sperm levels may be normal when you are young, the varicocele will significantly reduce sperm counts when you are older.

Hi /fit. So i read the sticky and have been doing SS for 2 months and since im at a deficit of 800cals/day my lifts have stalled early. I weigh 80kgs at 5'10 and my ideal weight is 70 kg. So i had a few questions
1) If I'm doing fat loss and cutting, should I do another program since SS on a cut won't give me the optimal strength gain?
2)If yes, which other routine should I do?
Main priorities are fat loss, getting abs.
I am thinking I should focus on strength after im done with fat loss and then religiously bulk and get optimal strength gains. Thoughts?

I'd love to start one so we can share our experiences, books we've read, tips, milestones we've reached, and, to keep it /fit/ related, how it's helped with your general health/lifting. :) Just a general topic to discuss something I feel has changed my life for the better, and I'd love to hear and share some of them with you all.
I've been meditating for about a month now. The ability to quickly slip into mindfulness anytime during the day is awesome, also mediation is a huge stress reliever.
Would definitely recommend it.

I carry a small set of mala beads (only 27 and a teacher bead at the end) just so while I'm out and about, I can still keep myself centered and at peace.

I'm 24, just hit 300 lbs, and I'm feeling pretty rock bottom right now.
I've been wanting to go join the gym near my house for a while now, but I need some specific direction on what to do once I'm actually there. I have no idea what I'm doing, and I don't have much free time during the week to waste if I'm not doing it correctly.
Can you point me towards a good routine for me to start doing? My only goal is weight loss.

Weight loss is 90% calorie restriction and 10% exercise(although there are many benefits to regular exercise)
Stronglifts is a program suggested in the sticky that I enjoyed when I started. Gives you the core lifts to work through.
Fix your diet first though. It's much more important for weight loss.

you may have only strained your back...i pulled a muscle in my glut and now whenever i do anything active like tennis or even bowling, if i dont warmup before starting, it comes back and i have to stop.. flexor muscles are bad for becoming chronic injuries..
How do I practice mindfulness all the time? I've read about it but just dont get it.
idk much about mindfulness but i know a lot about meditation.
mindfullness to me is just being in the present moment.
it takes practice and having it all the time is not good because you lose track of more abstract things.
what would you like to know?
Well I've read that it helps with anxiety and concentration so I really want to do it. Also do you have any idea about what type of meditation I should do to fall asleep easier? I've tried things like 4-7-8 method but they simply doesn't work.

focus on principles.
first step is to calm down. quietening the mind is the most difficult step for beginners.
sit somewhere quiet, with little noise, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. just breathe naturally, but consciously control it. thats all you need to do. concentrate on the breathing and nothing else, think of nothing else.
since breathing is automatic, once you stop thinking about it you still keep breathing. only then will your mind be truely...
