I'm just planning to start gym next week. Lurking about /fit/ stuff, I downloaded Starting Strength book and started reading about.
But, to fully read the book, I'll took a long time to finish. So, my question is: I really have to read all parts or can I skip a few (just jump to "how to do" part instead of reading all "neuromuscular system" before)?
I want to build a kit set car, ill skip the why everything needs to be a certain way and just start bolting it together

I've Read SS a few times and I never understood one certain part.
It mentions how your lifts will be which ratio from your body weigh (at minimun) but never states 1. If those are 1RMs and 2.if it's off your starting bodyweight or current bodyweight

Face it lads, being fat is better than being fit. Eating delicious food is the best thing next to sex and if you're fat there's nothing stopping you from eating delicious food every day. Are visible abs really worth a life of eating chicken, rice and lentils? Fuck no, but there are a shitload of people here who hitch their self worth to how good they look in the mirror which is quite frankly pathetic
So here's the thing. How much of today's population is considered overweight? 60 percent?
Now I'm overweight. Nothing like what we see in fat hate threads or Tumblr, and I am doing stuff about it, so I'll never be Boogie mode. But when I mention my being fat to people, they turn around and say "you're not fat". It pisses me off to no end. Yes I am fat, yes it's my fault, yes I am responsible for my own decisions, no I don't want people stepping on egg shells because they don't want to hurt my feelings.

Was fat in middle and first half of highschool. I'm not advocating bullying, because that's pretty shitty, but there were very few of my peers that were 'supportive' or whatever of my fat.
My parents were always like "you're not fat".
Lost weight and actually had a pretty nice looking lean face/body by senior year.
