Rest in peace old thread. Most calf raise guides I read always seem to state I need to be standing on some kind of elevated platform like a wooden board. All I have is dumbbells at home. Can I do standing calf raises without this platform and would they still be just as effective?
Which one is better?
For muscular balance?
I'm gonna level with you.
I want an intermediate routine for bodybuilding and strength, which in my opinion come hand in hand for natties. I would go Madcow but I think the volume is too low and Madcow himself said time and time again not to add accessories. So that's why I'm wondering.
I've seen the PTW reviews but they come from a Powerlifting standpoint.
Im running madcow right now. Seeing great strength and mass gains. Do not worry about volume, here is enough. The first few weeks are a nice and easy entrance into the program. After week 4, every day is pretty tough. I would reccomend it
Daily reminder that low bar squats are absolute, utter shit.
The only people who low bar squat are fat ugly nerds, dyel redditors, and those fat fucking "powerlifters" you can smell from across the gym.
Fat sits make you fat as fuck and unathletic. Girls dont even give a fuck about legs and "muh strength". ALso, enjoy your herniated discs.
Do yourself a favor: get some class, get some self respect, and quit being a fucking nerd.
doing a certain lift won't make you fat you fucking mong
Anyone else here sick of this fucking dad bod?
Workout songs that get you really pumped up, but you would never, EVER tell anyone else you listen to them. I'll start.
My 14yo son looks like a skeleton. He is skinny as fuck but his face is a little pudgy.
My son skis, but really isn't the team sport kid of kid.
My question is, should I start force feeding him whey and get him lifting?
Why is my OHP progressing so slowly compared to everything else?
for this next experiment anon, we're going to have you look down at your body. bear with me.
you'll notice that your triceps and deltoids are a certain size. you'll also notice that your quads, hamstrings, glutes, hip abductors and lumbar erectors are of a certain total size, and that this total size is much larger than the total size of your deltoids and triceps.
in fact, your posterior chain is many times larger than the primary movers involved in the OHP!
Check this shit out. You shouldn't be bothering with lateral raises right now, but the other tips are great.
hi /fit/ looking for some advice here. I am a woman, 31, 4'11" and obese at 200-207 lbs. I work in a garden nursery so my job is very physical and I guess I have a decent level of muscle as I can lift up to 50 lbs? (not sure that is relevant). I do want to lose weight so that things are easier on a daily basis, but Im not concerned with a goal of looking a certain way.
What are things I can do, right now, without buying a bunch of equipment, that is also going to be safe/physically possible for someone who is so overweight? I have never considered my fitness...

"There are two basic considerations: diet and exercise. The same advice for each applies to almost everyone. The exceptions are at the extremes, e.g. the very obese needing to lose immense amounts of weight to stay alive, and the people pursuing extreme levels of performance or muscular development. Both of those are beyond the scope of this guide."
Both of you are less helpful than nipples on a breastplate. Clearly YOU havent even read the sticky.
How many pushups can you do?
I just tried to go for score now and did 520, im tired as fuck.
>Gives shitty breath
>Gives bad teeth
>Causes stomach issues
Can we all agree that coffee is the worst drink in human history?
>But muh wake-up effect
A fresh green apple is PROVEN to give more energy than a cup of coffee
There's no excuse to ever drink this filth
/fit/ im so angry right now, my girlfriend asked me to a buffet for our date this valentines day, i told her that im not bringing her to a buffet, because she doesnt take care of her body, does not exercise and i told her she's getting fat.
i told her before that she needs to exercise and invest on her body, so that when we get older, we can still visit a lot of outdoor places and do a lot of activities that couples do.
/fit/ i dont want my girlfriend to be fat. it makes me sad thinking if she keep this up she will become like her mother with a lot of health...

>she doesn't take care of her body
>she's getting fat
>to look good for her
you're honestly doing it wrong, man
How do cyclists get massive quads and gymnasts get big everything without progressive overload?
Because they do progressive overload at the gym. Did you think that anybody who wants to be a pro at his sport, doesn't go to the gym to get those strength and muscle gains? That's how you get left behind.
Isometrics and/or jumping for gymnasts.
Well it's not a meme anymore, so even if you lift for yourself , just a reminder that bulking up is pointless if you want just attention so PSA?
Dude, who the fuck EVER thought anything else? Nobody in their right fucking mind would believe anything else. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS SINCE BIRTH INHERENTLY
What is the point of this shit? Your face is what it is, you have a certain attractiveness level and you are gonna get partners who are roughly the same level of attractiveness as you. That is pretty much how it is, everyone knows this.
