/SIG/ Self Improvement General.
NEW STICKY http://4chanfit.wikia.com/wiki//sig/_sticky
How have you improved yourself this week/month/year? Lifting isn't life, a well-balanced human being is productive, has hobbies, pushes him/herself to succeed, is charismatic, and strives to live the best life they can. Share your successes, failures, methods, and everything in between.
The sticky is divided like so:
>Some tips to get your life back on track.
>Study and Career.
>To-do list habit.rpg (If you’re TOTALLY Lost. Start with this one)
>Focus and meditation
>Have a productivity Framework that is flexible. A mindset that gets you going.
>Use a calendar, like google calendar. Hours and shit for things YOU WILL DO.
>Learn to focus.
>Do routines for things you should do periodically/daily, this should cover daily things or weekly chores such as laundry, cleaning, shopping.
>Identify and Eliminate conflicts within yourself.
>Focus on identifying the time wasters in your life and eliminate them.
>Focus on the essentials. If you try to do everything at once you’ll burnout. Little by little.
>This is a good ‘sticky’ for self-development
>If you think there is material that should be added (Or taken off). Please say so.
>There is no central authority for the /SIG/, everyone could copy, modify and upload the info here in a latter post.
>To future curators of the /SIG/. Stray away from PUA, and avoid Fedora stuff please.
>If you try monetizing with this, I’ll cut you.
>I’m looking to expand the ‘how to focus’ Area. If you believe you can help out/have tips, Share!
Material reading can be tricky. There will be trash here and there as we're not /lit/.
But we have to trust others.
Image related has a detailed list that an Annon provided on a thread a while back. If you got time to kill, click on the image, and read the descriptions
As time goes, the /SIG/ has had a couple of books recommended. I’ve done my best to try to get talks of the authors of such books so you can get a ‘piece’ before you commit.
Google a bit about the book, if you think you can get something out of it, watch the talk.
In my opinion, try getting the books “for free”.
If you read it and get something out of it, consider paying for the book.
>Michael Mauboussin, "The Success Equation”
>Susan Cain, Quiet: The power of Introverts
>The Brain That Changes Itself, Norman Doidge
>Antifragile, Nassim Taleb
>One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way, Robert Maurer
>Mentally Tough, James E. Loehr & Peter J. McLaughlin
>Practicing the Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle
Reading material needs to be added/edited
Some free books for you to grab
The Way of The Seal
The Code of the Warrior - Rick Fields
The Story of Civilization - Will Durant
The Story of Philosophy - WIll Durant
Starship Troopers - Robert Heinlein 1959 (actually has a lot of really powerful character building stuff in there)
Bravo Two Zero - Andy McNab
Immediate Action - ^
Seven Troop - ^
Also, Project Gutenberg has Thousands of free books.
You could do lot worse than browsing their top 100
>Freedom is having control of your life
You should at least have 3 hobbies/activities.
-One that will pay the bills, gets food on your table
-One that will keep you in shape. (lower you faggot)
-One that you're passionate about and might be able to develop into a career.
If you're into lifting, taking the tips to better yourself should be simple; as you already have built some self-discipline.
Make peace with yourself and the way things are right now.
Stop thinking the world owes you, how destiny ‘fucked you over’, how those guys have it easier.
Accept things as they are, realize that life is cruel and your circumstances are the ones you were given. You can’t do shit about the starting point, but you can move forward.
Don’t focus in what was given to you, focus in what you’ll achieve.
Eliminate the things you dislike about yourself, about your life. Is as simple as, do you enjoy your job? No? Take steps to change the feeling.
How are you gonna make that? You either make your job more enjoyable, or you change jobs. Simple.
You want a girl? how do you plan to achieve that? Are you too socially inept? Work on that.
Are you piss poor and can’t afford a decent living? Work on that too.
No matter who you are, where you are in your life, or how fucked up you think you are.
You can improve your life. Take control. Move forward.
Dreams keeps us alive, fighting for them makes us feel alive.
About 5-7 years ago, I was a fucking train-wreck.
Right now, I'm doing fairly well.
Get some discipline, set some goals and a way to achieve them.
Cultivate yourself, learn stuff, get your shit together.
And realize, understand. None is coming to save you.
You got to make your way through.
You NEED to take CONTROL.
If you're still in School. For fuck sake pay attention.
MORE than half of actually doing good in school is attending, the other half is paying attention in class. So then do it.
Or stop it altogether.
If you’re in college and you’re not feeling it, take a semester to think things through.
If you’re in high school, don’t think YOU NEED to enter college to be successful. There are other ways…
Google just started hiring people who never went to college.
WATCH this talk:
Some learning resources, focusing in code since I’m an ‘IT’ guy:
First and foremost. Free language learning tool with a really robust app. THIS IS A MUST. Learning a new language will help you out no matter who you are.
Teaches you the basics, from the ground up.
Similar to codeacademy.
Personal favorite. This guy step by step, learns a shit-ton of programing languages. Give this a check and start watching something you’re interested in.
This one I really like, once you get your shit going, it puts you ‘objectives’ to solve through code, last batch are really complex.
It’s a really nice online-course platform. There are really good things here as well.
>openprocessing.org / processing.org / codepen.io
These sites display some really cool stuff, where you can also check the source code and modify it to see what happens.
As for career options.
Choose anything you want, If you want to go into Philosophy or Social studies, That's fucking great. As long as you’re passionate about it, you’ll find a way.
You can always become a teacher or a writer.
BUT BE FUCKING AWARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING MONEY. Don't get a loan to study shit that will be expensive to repay.
Other than that, don't enter into something soulless just because 'I'll get money'.
You only got one fucking life, don’t waste it doing something you hate.
You must have a to-do list, it's pretty essential.
As for which, there are several options
Google Keep, Evernote or whatever suits you.
But currently I suggest you use:
There’s even a /fit/ guild created to keep us in check.
It’s certainly geeky as fuck. But Gamification has been proven to work when applied to certain aspects of human psyche. Helps you stay in check and keeping your eyes on the trophy.
Stupid trivial things I used to do, I stopped once I placed them as ‘Bad habits’.
It also has a mobile app, while it’s a bit limited and on construction, it is free.
There are three main categories.
>Habits. These are things you do by impulse, not under a schedule. Can be good or bad.
+Go for a jog
+Sleep early/on time Sun-Thu
+Walk the dog
+Go for a ride
+Cook something new
+Go out and socialize
+Spend time at the shelter
-Eat Junk/Dirty bulk
-Stay up late Sun-Thu
-Play 1.5+ Hours vidya a day
>Dailies are things you ALWAYS do. Every day or certain days of the week. Planned, they are only good.
+Lift (m - w - f)
+Eat your macros(daily)
+Buy Groceries (Sa)
+Read 30 min (daily)
+Practice the Guitar 30 Min(daily)
+Study Video Editing 40 Min (daily)
+Cook (We, Sa)
+Do your daily points in duolingo
>To-Do are, well, things you must do. You can have a checklist within one To-Do.
()Fix the shelf
()Go to the post office and send the package
()Buy the ticket to the concert
()Pay the landlord
()Organize my trip to the moon
—()Get the rocket tickets
—()Get the reservation for the moon Hostel
—()Buy some moonars to have some local money
—()Buy a map of moon city
Seeing the numbers go up (or health go down) is a weird sort of motivation. I can vouch for it. Give it a try, if you have no idea where to start, This is a good one.
Fill your bad habits, put the to-do’s and take it from there.
Meditation and focus is still under construction.
So is Finance for that matter.
But, For finance, there are some tips and tricks from FinanceBrah:
To get started, you obviously need to get an income sorted, now, there are 2 main ways to make money, work for somebody else, or earn money yourself.
Working for somebody else is self explanatory, you go out and get a job, busting your balls, normally for peanuts if you don't have a great career, and doing that day after day, year after year. Is this always a bad thing? No, most people start here in fact, it tends to be a good, at least consistent way to make money. People do it there whole lives, and that's up to them.
BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, I DON'T WANT TO BE BUSTING MY BALLS TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE A LOAD OF MONEY, I hear you say.
Earning money for yourself.
Again, there are two ways to do this. Firstly, is ACTIVELY earning it, creating a business, that you work at and it provides you with profit, and PASSIVELY earning it, meaning you put money you already have to work.
I can't possible cover off every single way to actively make money in 1 post, but if it interests you, look into it. You can start an online business while you already have a job, if you still want the security. You can start a side gig on the weekends, you can import and sell at markets or online. You can jack it all in, and start a physical business (please don't do that without serious thought) Actively earning money is one of the most rewarding things you can do, IMHO
>Low start up cost businesses/part time
There are hundreds of articles out there, have a look, see what you think, and do your research.
BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, NOW I'M EARNING ALL THIS MONEY, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT, SHOULD I BUY A FERRARI?
You save it, live within your means, don't go into high interest debt, keep your expenses as low as possible, the more you save, the more you can put to work, and the more you can earn without lifting a finger.
Passively earning money.
I like to call this putting your money to work for you, money you saved, investing it, and getting a return on it.
I CAN MAKE MONEY WITHOUT WORKING FINANCEBRAH? ARE YOU FOR REAL.
Yes. This is how most people become wealthy, saving money, and getting a big return on it. But how do you do that? Again, there are hundreds of ways. As a general rule, the higher the risk, the higher the reward. What you invest in depends on your investment strategy, including what return you want, and what risk you're willing to take.
Read it and create one, it should tie in to your long term goals.
Again, too many different kind of investments to cover in one post, here is a good overview of them.
This is the risk order:
I personally prefer Real estate, forex trading, and stocks. There is so much information out there, I can just encourage you to read and learn as much as possible. See what suits your life and where you live.
FINANCEBRAHS RULES ON HOW TO BE FINANCIALLY SMART
>PAYING OFF HIGH INTEREST DEBT IS THE BEST FORM OF SAVING THERE IS, payday loans first, credit cards, ect.
>NEVER GO INTO DEBT TO BUY THINGS THAT DEPRECIATE, IF YOU CAN MANAGE IT
>LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. THE BRAND NAME BAKED BEANS COME AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK
>AVOID ALL LATE PENALITIES ON DEBT
and the most important one.
TRY AND SAVE SOMETHING EVERY PAY PERIOD. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS $1, SET A GOAL OF HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO SAVE AND FUCKING HIT IT, PUT IT INTO AN ACCOUNT TO BE USED ONLY FOR INVESTING.
I'm really stuck in my life and don't know how to change it.
I'm 24 and now in the 5th semester of a Geodesy and Land survey degree. Problem is that I lost all desire in the topic and I'm having problems to keep up with some of the subjects (math related). So at this point I'm not sure if I should quit or continue because I already invested so much time into it.
The situation is almost paralysing, shit times.
Olay financebrah, get a little more in depth as to how you started making good money...
Did you just start saving and investing right away? How did it all go down?
I'm only a year younger than you and I'm a directionless loser
I've got a couple of friends who have a similar degree. From what they tell me, the job is a whole lot different and more fun than the degree. But if you really want to change, then go for it. 5 Semesters is a short amount of time to be comparatively unhappy for the rest of your life.
After I left school, I decided to work a job just to get by, for minimum wage. I used to start at 8am, and finish at 6pm, and worked a 2 hour drive from my house. I was busting my fucking ass, and not getting much out of it, but it taught me a work ethic, and it also taught me what i didnt want to do with the rest of my life. Probably the best job I ever had in that regard. But while I worked it, I was reading, learning, trying to hang around people who had what i wanted.
I saved up about 1000 bucks, and one day, a deal popped up, 2 tailored suits, ties and shirts for $1000. I'd just seen the movie Crazy Stupid Love, so I decided to go for it. Got one made like pic related, and one in investment banker grey as my mom called it haha. Anyways, my burgandy suit made me feel like I could do anything, it was my "power suit". That shit really does exist and help btw. Get a good fucking suit made.
But anyway, I started to get really interested in property, and I knew the market in Auckland, NZ, where i was living, was going through the roof, and i decided I had to get in on it. The bank wouldn't give me a mortgage, because I needed a 20% deposit. So I searched, and found an investor, put on my power suit, and went to ask him for 350k, to buy a house and flip it. Long story short, I bought for 320k, spend 20k on it, repainted the whole thing, new kitchen, new bathroom, built a huge new deck on it, did all the work myself pretty much, working 16-20 hour days, 7 days a week, and in 4 months, it was finished, and I sold it for $520k, and I paid the investor 20% on his money over the 4 months we agreed upon, and that it.
Thats how I made over 100k in 4 months. Now I've had some investments since then, just cashed them all in to spend ~ $300k buying a business in the USA to move there.
Yeah, I'd been researching for a few months, I knew what would happen, and what the risks were, but fuck it, I saw an opportunity to change my life and I took it.
I'm a Freemason, and he was a fellow mason I met through an acquaintance at the lodge.
Please don't start asking me conspiracy theory shit.
where did you get the 20k to spend on it?
you said you saved up 1000 bucks?
other than that:
> epainted the whole thing, new kitchen, new bathroom, built a huge new deck on it, did all the work myself pretty much
is like the dream for me, (as the person who ranted about CREATING THINGS for life satisfaction). i did a similar thing with my friend's apartment in exchange for rent, but not on the same scale.
be careful anon with "investing"
it is, in essence, gambling, and ultimately everyone loses at gambling.
something like flipping a house in an area which was consistently going up in price and with no ambiguous economic indicators was a very safe investment. but my advice is to ignore all that internet crap about "INVEST IN GOLD, LEARN THESE ECONOMIC TRICKS, MAKE 10K A MONTH, LEARN HOW TO WIN AT THE STOCK MARKET" all of this is absolute bollocks, there's no quick wins, not without being in the absolute right place at the right time and getting a bit lucky.
Borrowed 350k, spent 320k on purchasing it.
My favorite part was building the new deck, it went from a 6x6 feet deck, to a 20 by 15 L shaped wraparound deck. It was fucking great. My old man helped me, and we just googled how to build one and set to it. Realtor said it added probably 25k to the value, for 2k spent and a few days hard work.
Do you guys meditate?
Is it really worth it?
I am very "restless" and want to improve myself.
Also do you drink green tea?
Bought some, because i read that its very healthy, but it tastes like sweety grass
I was clinically depressed for 4 years. Got diagnosed under a false name though, never had therapy or meds.
I've got a girlfriend of 9 months, she's fucking amazing. She's still in school, but she lifts and we cook together and shit. Life is good.
That sounds great.
Personally I don't even want a gf. I just want to fuck as many girls as possible. I got btfo by some ghetto bitch earlier in the year who I had been pining after and it crushed my self esteem, sent me into a deep depression.
I'm money motivated now. Just got a sales job where I'll be making almost $1000 each week.
Now I just need to.find out what I need to do with the money
Everything is possible with enough skill, luck and determination.
Good job man, we all have different life goals, so that's all good.
I'd save it, and invest it, but hey, thats just what i enjoy doing.
For sure man, degrees don't mean shit to me, just that someone can take a test.
Spent 2k on just the materials for the deck, well, $2500ish. 20k on the whole property.
Thanks brah. I've got a new goal body. Brian Shaw mode.
>tfw not a 420lbs moving slab of muscle :(
Good luck man.
Im trying to learn how to flirt and im starting tomorow ar work ..
Gotta cripple that fucking anxiety if i want to get laid.
cool, I get it now. sounds like a great project. after doing a similar thing with my friend's flat we discussed the idea of going fourths on a place in France, and doing it up (well, it would have been basically entirely done up by me). they have more money than I do so I could earn my 1/4 by doing the restoration.
They are however all incredibly inefficient and it would take years to get around to doing this and there is a 95%+ chance it would never happen
Thanks Financebrah for carrying the torch. Good stuff.
Take a break. Are you able to do that?
That a full semester and travel a bit. Crash with some relatives or friends that live far away (and they'll have you no questions asked), tell them you'll work or something.
Ask for help to the people close to you. Open up and say you need to take a semester off to think things through.
Personally? Yeah. Finish it.
But then again, I studied IT and it was probably the wrong move, so... there's that.
Never heard your story Finacebrah, nice!
Academic achievements is only one of many points of comparison.
You can most certainly win her over man.
Don't let an inferiority complex paralyze you.
Yep, a lot of the social problems are autonomic responses, they're essentially phobias. If you have lonely socially rejected childhood time you feel anxious in social situations (like being bitten by a dog as a kid or something, and then becoming scared of dogs), and then you avoid it, and you never learn how to do it successfully and that just leads to more failure.
Attend lots of local church groups. Srs. They're begging for new people and it gives you a chance to at least practice talking about yourself and asking about others.
I've recently started doing it and it's based as fuck. Admittedly a ton of the people are 40+ but there are usual some young people there.
It's an easy place to start as well as it's not socially intimidating at all compared to a bar or club or something, so you can build up your confidence slowly
I dont live in DumbMcFasciststan and people here are chill about shit like that.
Beside i have more than 2500 people at my work place so i'll be cool.
Yeah i fucked my social progress during my teen years so i have to tripletime now.
Almost 20 and they just do really annoying shit and it's a long story but they're always incredibly hypocritical and can't be proven wrong.
It's impossible, these people cant be reasoned with.
Then move out.
Don't do it giving shit and burning bridges, Say you need to make your own path.
Take some distance.
If you say so man. Just, girls, women, get really awkward after sex.
The relationship changes.
If you see them daily on an office environment...
Unless you really like this girl and it's not just a fuck, for me, It's a big no-no.
The audience in the /SIG/s are a bit more relaxed I guess.
How's its shitting ??
Im not going to rape them, im not trying to steal their cash, we are civilized adults not spoiled by murrican feminazism and other shit.
Just normal male-female relationship.
>If you say so man. Just, girls, women, get really awkward after sex.
>The relationship changes.
>If you see them daily on an office environment...
>Unless you really like this girl and it's not just a fuck, for me, It's a big no-no.
Its not an office. Some of them work only for few months, others move out/in .
Im gonna be fine man.
Beside its just flirt and training dem social skillz, its not like im gonna fucke them in the janitors closet ...
Although man can dream ..
>Then move out. Don't do it giving shit and burning bridges, Say you need to make your own path. Take some distance.
With what shekels bro? Seems like moving out before getting fulltime job after graduating is basically just living poor as fuck unless you're talented enough to be able to do something better than minimum wage.
Everyone I've met who has moved before or around 20 is working 9-5 in terrible job with horrible conditions and pretty much financially fucked with no hope of getting out of the rut. If I knew I had to work some shite minimum wage job until I was 40, or even for the rest of my life I would just kill myself. Yet that's people's reality everyday.
>Take some distance.
Best advice you're gonna get on the matter.
I always had a troubled relationship with my family, especially with my mother. Since moving out we get along great, have fantastic conversations and understand each other better.
Also, moving out is just a big, and important step to becoming a better person, do it as soon as you can, it just helps with everything.
I still hate you for killing Kennedy tbh.
I'd highly recommend those 5 as far as covering basic strategies.
They are all pretty old, but it pretty much all still applies.
Give that one a read too, its annotated to be more applicable today.
Oops, wrong link, that one is already on the list.
Also, the investing for dummies series isn't bad
I apologise for that anon. Kennedy wasn't as good as Reagan though
20 year old here with no post-secondary education, my family are crazy drug addicts so I saved up a few thousand bucks, moved to a new city, got on welfare and started looking for a job. Welfare isn't enough to cover my room, buspass, food and gym membership and I still haven't even had a single fucking job interview so my savings are slowly depleting. I don't know what the fuck to do, if I don't find full time work soon I'm gonna run out of money and have to quit the gym and cut back on food and watch my year of gains slowly drain away. Thinking of going to college so I can take out loans to survive and get a job afterwards but I have no idea what I want to do plus I did shit in highschool so I don't think I'd be accepted into anything that'd be worth the debt. What am I to do, /SIG/?
ah I see. There's no possibilty for you to move into a apartment with some friends for cheap or sth.? I'm lucky because my parents (have to) pay for my education as long as don't have any regular income.
I'm not even American, so I don't know shit about American presidents, but Kennedy was a swaggering motherfucker and his wife was a qt, gotta respect that.
>I'm lucky because my parents (have to) pay for my education as long as don't have any regular income.
They HAVE to brah? How do I hook myself up with that?
I know your feel bro, my family just isn't crazy drug addicts but basically same thing except I'm still living with them.
I guess you should take out loans and go to college, it's probably your best bet. Just go to community college because in terms of money/effort investment compared to how much more you'll earn it's significant. You could even transfer to a 4 year college later.
my ex got a pet chinchilla (she's pretty weird, and has quite severe bipolar disorder) and a small dog which she seemed to barely feed
they definitely helped her though, easy to care for pets are a good way for mental health gains
My girlfriend has a hamster, he is based as fuck haha.
When I finally get to America I'm getting a German Shepherd, God tier dogs man. Got my eye on a family line, and the pups cost $2500
Man everyone I know who is lucky enough to get their parents to pay for school is ambition-less and gets a shitty major, not saying im better in the ambition department(obviously since im here complaining) but damn if I had that opportunity I would bust my ass doing internships and everything I could.
Maybe I just need a gay sugardaddy to fund my college.
>They HAVE to brah? How do I hook myself up with that?
In Germany you either get money from the state for studying, or, if your parents have a somewhat high income, they have to pay for your living costs (give you 750 bucks a month or sth). If you're not living at home that is.
yeah, I have a pretty shitty major, but I'm also ambitioned, it's actually one of the few characteristics people tell me I have. Wasn't always like that though.
Also, I'm not looking to make my field of study the source of my main income, I'm planning a couple of side-hustles.
Lol my kike parents would never do that.
Good thing I'm not giving them a single cent or minute of my time when they're old and frail.
That will serve them right for being such jews.
"Oh where's my lovely anon, i need some money for my 5th hip surgery because i led an unhealthy lifestyle" "Oh we put in so much time to raise our lovely anon why wont he talk to us ;-;-;-;"
>Man everyone I know who is lucky enough to get their parents to pay for school is ambition-less and gets a shitty major
You have no Idea how worse it can get. I went to a private high school(through state funding) and had classmates who when thinking about where they would like to study listed where their parents owned how many houses. They also did not take _ANY_ resposibilites for their grades, blaming their parents that they didn't give them more private tutors and similar stuff and didn't consider it their fault they were always 3 hours late to school, because obsivouly, their driver screwed up. My parents meanwhile struggled to support themselves and I lived of chicken and rice.
Yeah it's fucked.
Maybe it's God's cruel joke on humanity, get lucky to get rich parents = have no ambition and just live off daddy's dick
get unlucky and get poor parents = have ambition and will to succeed but no money to be in good financial situation
It's the circle of life.
>Poor kids work hard and get rich.
>They have kids and give them "things that they couldn't have"
>Kids grow up spoiled and lacking motivation
Just remember that your rich and spoiled classmates could easily be your kids a few years from now.
It was always this way, sadly. At least I get to bet how much time from the moment when they inherit the whole money to their bankruptcy will pass.
>You'll win in the end anon
>you're obviously much more on the way to making it than the others.
I hope so ;_;
It's like a version of coffee that is "better for you".
I used to drink it, but stopped some time ago. I just drink coffee now (short, with a tiny bit of milk) and rock caffeine pills. Justed payed a huge amount of money for college semester, so waiting for this paycheck to arrive in a week to get some noopept and AMP-C. All in all, a better combo than green tea.
You don't need to be rich to join them. I was just a member of the lodge in the small town I lived in. My Dad is one as well, so I guess that helped. We have all kinds of people though, you don't have to be making millions to join, our acceptance standards are more to do with being moral.
Keep the work ethic up man, set goals, and hit them. You'll make it in no time.
So seeing I am young, motivated, passionate, in college and already have a job in my field (IT) and want to make the world a better place, for my future children and my community, does that help me get in?
How do I apply? They have a website for my country's branch, but I can't find anywhere on how to apply, guess you got to ask a mason to recommend you?
What country are you in?
If you talk to the secretary of your local lodge, they will be able to help you.
* Be a man who comes of his own free will
* Believe in a Supreme Being (the form of which is left to open interpretation by the candidate)
* Be at least the minimum age (from 18-25 years old depending on the jurisdiction)
* Be of good morals, and of good reputation
* Be of sound mind and body
* Be capable of furnishing character references, as well as one or two references from current Masons, depending on jurisdiction
Those are generally the criteria, don't worry about the last one, you can talk to the secretary about that.
This is just me being happy for the first time in a long time. Idk
>get out of military (not my choice)
> go to college because I guess I'm supposed to
> no idea what I want to do, just pick a major
> hate life, no motivation or passion in what I'm doing
> shit service industry job
> finish semester, don't register for the next one
> quit shitty job
> unemployed, lazy, depressed
> get real fat, real fast
> finally reach breaking point, have moment of clarity
> decide to do something drastic, start putting in applications for overseas security contracting
> get hired
> holy shit, is this really happening?
> in Texas a week later training
> sense of purpose and focus returning
> two weeks later, in Afghanistan
> start lifting hard for the first time in years
> overhaul my diet
> start reading again, motivating books by bro's like Sam Sheridan
> depression lifts, finally happy, finally losing the weight, finally have something to look forward to each day
Idk, nothing too special, but I guess it's interesting to go from what feels like rock-bottom to one of the high points of my adult life.
Quote from a Sam Sheridan book:
> It's the path between one position and another - the transition - that makes the difference between a mediocre fighter and an unbelievable fighter
Keep your heads up anons, keep moving forward. The transition between the good times and the hard times is what makes you a man.
Just buy all the top rated books on Amazon, pretty much what I did.
It's all much the same, it isn't like stocks and forex where there are umpteen different strategies, there are maybe 8 or 10 in property, and all the books tend to cover the same thing.
Just get 5 or 10 and you should be set, but ultimately, the best experience comes from watching the local market
>Do you guys think its worth to pay for the verified certificates on coursera? Can I use them on my CV?
Yes, and yes, if you don't have any other formal education, they would be good, not as great as a degree obviously, but better than nothing.
What would make me believe in myself again and stop feeling trapped in my relationship would be breaking up but her cat just died so I have to wait until she's less sad before I break up. Both of our birthdays will likely pass before I get the chance.
Good question, will I look like an autism if I say that I've done (and have proof) various online courses specific areas? I've been enjoying coursera A LOT, I literally stopped playing vidya to actually learn new things, having a paid certificate is worth it?
The moment these threads take themselves too seriously is the moment they become worthless.

guys how do i become fit im 400lb should I bulk?
I'm glad to hear there was no girl involved.
Those kind of turn arounds are the ones that are here to stay.
It's all about sense of accomplishment.
You feel like you're trapped on a cycle so no matter how good you're having it, you're feeling like shit.
Look at the signs and push forward.
But first things first, what do you really wanna do?
im in canada so i dont really know how to get into that stuff
also i know nothing about this kind of stuff
where can i go to learn about them
im already using my google fu but anything helps
Even easier if you're in Canada.
Just chuck it all into a tangerine index fund.
Google tangerine and look into their investment funds. It has a higher MER than TD eseries but if you know absolutely nothing and don't care about learning then this would be the 1 stop solution for you. Even most people who DO know/care about learning would benefit from it.
Investopedia is a good place to start. I personally like Vanguard, google Vanguard Canada, and call them and tell them, they'll set you up an account, and you just put money in and watch it grow really.
You essentially put your money into a huge pool, vanguard currently manages assets in excess of a trillion dollars. There are lots of different kind of fund types, all with different investment aims and holdings, heres a list
Eh, maybe one Sunday a month when I was working hardcore, just to chill and relfect. It's like dieting, you don't want a whole cheat day every week, but one a meal a week wouldn't hurt
>if you know absolutely nothing and don't care about learning
i find that mindset will make me lose out big time. im down to put some time into learning how things work to get the most out of this. ill check out tangerine but if i already have an account with TD wouldnt it be easier to go with them?
Easier yes, you'd have to look at what all the funds return, and the fee's and stuff, and decide what you want.
Yeah, at least read up on it all, don't just go into it blindly, that's silly advice. you can loose money and miss out on bigger gains like that.
What do people classify as those days? Because I find that watching movies to broaden your knowledge can be beneficial, since it makes it easier to find common interests with people, and you just become a more cultural being, assuming that you don't want solely action movies and comedies.
Same goes with TV shows and most books, imo.
If you want to. You'd have to set it up yourself then. Canadian finance blogs call Tangerine index funds "The one fund solution" however. And it's been said about 80% of people would benefit from it over whatever they're doing.
Have a read through this. Perfect starting point for you.
>the average client of a mutual fund advisor in Canada has an account between $64,000 and $75,000. What percentage do you think have globally diversified, regularly rebalanced portfolios that cost less than 1.07%? And if those investors are paying a 1% trailer fee, how many are receiving good advice? I’d suggest at least three out of four would be better off simply socking away money in a Tangerine Investment Fund.
Fuck, that's the thing... My discipline is so week that when I reach the weekend I break with everything I've been working. I don't seem to know how to treat weekends as "normal" days, I end up not doing anything.
Also, I'm not really working that "hard"... Just trying to keep up with some good habits but that's it.
I'm trying to take it slow but I always get this feeling that I should be doing much more.
Slow and steady is better than overhauling it all at once imo.
I always used my day to go out fishing, I'd spend 14 hours on my boat just chilling, a bit of wakeboarding, then fish the day away.
Just stop calling it the weekend, or get a job that forces you to work saturday and sunday, the idea of a weekend quickly leaves your mind
What are some vegetables that don't taste like ass/have shit texture and what are some ways to make vegetables suck less for those of us that don't like greens much to begin with?
I can force myself to eat most things, but I won't enjoy it. I can't see myself sustaining it forever.
So far I find stuff like broccoli and spinich fine as long as I'm allowed to add some flavoring like cheese, salt, oils, etc...
>Still suggesting that ramblings about a fictional TV show by some internet Indian guy with power fantasies need to be in /SIG/
>f it's clearly against your companies policy
In what fascist hellhole do you live where men cannot flirt with women he likes because he works with her ??
Jesus that is some fucked up 1984tier bullshit.
Because it makes the workplace awkward and if you break up it can cause problems which the manager wants to avoid.
He doesn't want drama or people not talking to eachother because they had sex and went out for a few weeks then had a messy breakup.
It's not a "fascist hellhole", it's typical company policy in order to be successful.
>all that corpo newspeak
>we cant be successful if you have any human reactions
I feel sorry for you if you think only job there is is in some corporate hellhole with drones sitting in front of the computer .
Thankfully im working in a normal country and normal not corpo-job so i can do whatever the fuck i like as long as im on time and actually do my job.
financebrah you were depressed once. was working hard and becoming successful worth it?
there's a lot of times when I just want to say fuck it and eat a shotgun shell. all of this is absolutely meaningless.
nothing gives me pleasure or happiness. i just want to not feel like shit.
damn i was hoping to turn it into something of a hobby but i doubt ill have the time and discipline to mess around with my fund all the time. i guess ill be putting it into an index fund
if i go into a bank and ask them about it what are the chances that ill get screwed?
I tried ODing once, obviously fucked something up, and I'm still here haha.
Looking back though, I still get a little depressed from time to time, but when i do i just reflect on how far I've come and it gets me through the rough days.
It took a while for anything to make me happy, but it does get better anon, trust me, and it really is worth it, you have so much life left to live.
But is it worth it? When i'm driving a 3 ton truck 100mph down a back road, with Born to Run playing full pelt, with my girl next to me, on the way do something stupid no doubt. You fucking bet it was bro.
Pic very much related, we're all gonna make it anon.
Eh not bad if you speak to a personal banker. If you want to turn it into a hobby, go right ahead and open up a trading account with someone! If you don't mind maybe losing a bit, or not getting the best return, I'd 100% encourage you to do that.
I think I know how to help you, would you mind giving me some info about your financial situation, like how much you have saved and how much you earn?
Also, where do you live? I mean this on a smaller scale though, suburbs, countryside, whatever.
Well, any knowledge can be counted as self-improvement, so I think you can pick mostly any e-book, which are covered in the sticky. I've listened to some of "Hello, Internet!", CGPGrey's podcast, which is interesting, but doesn't require a large amount of concentration to follow.
>18 years old
>finished highschool may 2014
>community college + part time grocery store
>savings: $854.25, earnings: $6.60/hr after tax
>Also, where do you live? I mean this on a smaller scale though, suburbs, countryside, whatever.
Suburbs. Without getting too specific I'm in one of the cities of North Carolina.
It's like there's a cloud over my mind. Everything you posted just seems like an empty pursuit. A time filler. I'm not trying to you insult you brah. I just don't see the point.
I know, there was a time when that all sounded like shit to me as well. Tbh, I don't even know how i fixed it, its almost like I decided one day not to be depressed, and I was going to put my energy into something productive.
anheroing isn't the option though man. Talk to people about it if you feel that will help.
Also, blue devils or tar heels fan?
I dont remember ASKING anything. I just merely mentioned flirting with chicks at work and some anon lost its shit because muh harrasment charges etc.
I won't an hero. I can't. I've got family, a few friends, volunteer commitments, and work.
>Also, blue devils or tar heels fan?
Neither. I only casually watch soccer.
>I know, there was a time when that all sounded like shit to me as well. Tbh, I don't even know how i fixed it, its almost like I decided one day not to be depressed, and I was going to put my energy into something productive.
I've tried to change constantly for the past few years, but everytime I slip back into my old habits. Once this low depressive streak ends I'll probably gather my things and try again. But shit. What's the point. It's not that I want to die. I just want to fall asleep and never wake up.
Eh, better than being a duke fan.
You've just gotta find something that makes living worth while. We all find solace in different things, I found it in what I mentioned before, you might find it in something completely different. Your state is fucking beautiful though, on a side note. Just keep a journal noting the small steps you've taken each day, and they soon become giant leaps, and you can see yourself going backwards and stop it before it gets too late.
If you are staying afloat with your studies at the moment, you still have a chance. I actually almost flunked out of the place in which I study last May.
I've seen a couple of things help out here - someone I talked to on /mlp/ once said that he felt a sort of rush (non-sexual) while riding horses, a sort of feeling of complete freedom. I've gotten the same by going to abandoned buildings or walking alone at night, which works much better if there are no lights around. Try a couple of things like that, they often help you find something to look forward to. (Using HabitRPG?)
Another important thing is to have someone you can talk to. Write an e-mail to someone anonymously - be it a random person online or a friend you'd like to know better. I'd suggest starting with something like random obscure music suggestions and general topics that most people could talk about. If you really don't have anyone to talk to, I think that I know someone who would certainly respond and give you something to think about.
Maybe you could try out a movie challenge, which is something I did last year. Try to watch a movie per day, logging your ratings on imdb or whatever, just to know more about random movies. It also gives something to look forward, and if you care, I could post some suggestions.
fuck. its so hard trying to see through all of the lies and deciet and brainwashing our society put us through. man, it's so much that it's literally overwhelming. not to mention the fact that low low selfesteem doesn't make the situation any better, just leaves me wanting to but too afraid to ask eccentric questions...
just want to vent
So I need some strange advice /SIG/. I want to found a PMC and become dictator of a small piece of land in africa. Does anybody know some first steps?
anyone have any idea how to get any ideas for the topic for an essay? Deadline is next Sunday, and I have no idea what to write about. It's only 5 pages so, so that's not the problem.
Not looking for suggestions, only for any advice on how to find a topic/thesis.
What's the subject, mate? I think we need SOME guidelines.
For general tips, I guess that you should stick with something that you know. If your previous work doesn't affect it, rip ideas out of what you've written before.
I'm considering taking they walks and looking for a pen pal of sort to hear me out. I feel as though we as humans are social creatures and we that connect with each other if we want live healthy prosperous lives. But for certain hard cases like my own, who are practically emitting insecurity, it's a takes a great deal to interact with others. I feel like with all of this social anxiety, angst emotions just build up and they need to be let out or something tragic could happen.
I truly wish no one could live thier lives feeling the way me and other unfortunate people who suffer from social anxiety do. it's a terrifying prison. it would be awesome if you could post more suggestions that'll help me clear my head of such negativity. I know that's not what you intended with your initial suggestions but they do help with SAD as well
I'm in Germany, and took an introductory course in literature for fun and easy credit points.
Essay is supposed to be about one of the basic 'problems' of the science, eg. what is literature, what is literature-science, why analyse literature, stuff like that.
I always have a hard time coming up with stuff like that, once I have a topic it's ez.
Just talk online to people, its never a bad thing. some of the best friends ive ever had were people from online and id never met.
I eventually got over it, you can eventually too.
>it would be awesome if you could post more suggestions that'll help me clear my head of such negativity
Glad to hear that I could help a bit. I'll try to think of some things as I go about my day tommorow, but now I gotta sleep.
Anyone got any dope ideas for inventions in their head? They always fascinate me.
Not sure if i should post this here. But im a fatass trying to get better. Work days i have no problems going to the gym and keeping my diet really clean and tracking calories. But my motivation over the weekends just goes to shit. Either its eating everything i can get my hands on because im hungover or im just so bored.
Hi. Stop drinking if it makes you eat. Find a hobby if you're so bored you eat. I used to go out fishing all day and only take so much food, i couldnt eat anything else then.
How about a magnetic anti-rep-failing stuff for binch and squats?
Like, if you feel like you are going to fail, you press a button with your feet and a giant electromagent lifts the bar (or helps you rack it)
Only problem would be high as fuck current when it starts, Like an asynchronous motor
How do I get over my self-consciousness? I like my body and would love more gains, but at the same time I can't even send a single shirtless pic to a girl. To normals I look athletic and healthy, but to /fit/ I am basically a DYEL. How do I fix this mindset?
I've tried, but I just can't care with one of them. She always thinks she is the only thing that matters. I've tried countless times to try strengthening our work relationship, but it just won't work. But, as soon as I typed this, I realized I probably need a better job. Fuck downtown store jobs, man.
For, I did it and it was the best move I ever made. But keep working on yourself too man, that always makes it easier. You read how to win friends and influence people?
Hmm, okay. I really enjoy the idea of AutoCAD but I don't know if I would like the work environment. I also hear that ethnic is dying out, so I might not go for that. Appreciate the help. Looks like I have to brainstorm tonight.
Today, I joined in on my uni's dance team meeting, because I figured making an idiot of myself with a bunch of girls would be a better way to do cardio than more monotonous running
I tried my best not to look autismo, but probably came off that way anyway, what with me having zero game or experience. At least I got some decent balance and flexibility work out of it
Shit thanks anon, I never did the math. Some of that was literally sitting around telling the electrition or carpet layer what to do. I hope I can help more people do that!
Wanna do some more math for me? If I buy a business that makes $130 000 a year, and I work 8-5pm 5 days a week, how much per hour is that? and how much per hour would I need to pay myself to make at least $1000 a week in salary?
>Wanna do some more math for me? If I buy a business ...
You're missing a few details. For all I know, $130000 could be revenue, there could be 5 employees, and material cost could be $50000.
not same anon. Financebrah I know i've pestered you with questions and you've always helped me but should I sign up to the gym this week if I got around $5000 but no job or consistent income?
I want to lift again and I think i've even asked you this before but i'm just not sure if I should. I mean i think i got enough money to afford the gym for a while until I find a job
Fo sure. Gym is always good. Or use the 5k to build a killer home gym. thats the /fit/ not the financebrah part of me talking though. You could invest the 5k and the returns would pay for the gym.
I guarantee debt is being hidden somewhere, or ownership is divided, or something illegal is on the balance sheet. Read the books at least 5 times, or get a good accountant.
But assuming everything is ideal. 9-6 work, 6 days a week, 50 weeks, 48 shekels/hour for 130k, or 66 shekels/hour for 180k.
Ownership means you take ALL the net profit, but obviously you wouldn't do that since shit happens and backup money is needed.
Imagine if you got the membership and then you cant find a job. Then you run outta money and youre fucked.
find the job first bro. Yes gains are important, but so is not becoming homeless. if you bust ass id say you can find a min wage job in 2 weeks.all depends where you live, but a month tops
I just hate not being able to buy my own groceries and being dependent on eating what parents buy.
Makes it realllyyy hard to consistently bulk/cut and I often times have to ballpark calories.
Sometimes we'll eat the most delicious steak for a week other times there's only like a liter of milk and some eggs(in a small quantity).
I know and i've been hella procrastinating it. But on the otherhand for the gym to make a significant dent in my money it would take way over a year(that would only be like ~$500 even then). Shouldn't I just start gym again and eventually find a job?
you would need to pay yourself 22,22$/hour
if you go up to 180k, it would be
All numbers without taxes and consindering, you wouldn't have to hire someone else.
Well, I would like to be an accountant someday, when I'm finally through with my shitty trainee job in great hotels.
He's a sole prop and I'd set up an LLC, so it would be an asset sale only, meaning I can't get stung with any of that shit, plus i get a fucking giantic tax rebate when I file the first year.
Eh that's not bad money really. I'd probably just take 65k a year salary at the start and pump the money back into growing the business, then chill when it hits 200k.
Also would it even be worth shoving that $5k into an index fund in my current situation or should I keep it for emergency living expenses and shove my excess money into an index fund?
ohhh ok haha. i guess if you have no expenses then losing $500 for a years time isnt bad.
you could probably find a gym alot cheaper than that tho, i only pay 10/ mo
and make sure you on good terms w. your parents too brah, make em proud.
What kind of living expenses do you have? You could shove at least half of it in, you can normally get it out pretty easily.
Thanks man, looks good. Man, now I want a personal assistant haha
Nah I don't even drink much coffee. It would be my girlfriend "oh can you just pick me up an iced grande venti latte carmel green tea frappuchino shaken with chocolate and fat free milk and no whipped cream with 2 straws". or whatever you buy from starbucks haha
That's real hard to improve. People mainly go to the sole prop because of him. When he leaves, so will his clients. Unless he is the only guy who can do that 1 service/sale (which usually isn't the case in a city), you aren't going to start with a clientbase. Plus, finding a guy as skilled as the previous owner is going to be a real bitch.
>you could probably find a gym alot cheaper than that tho, i only pay 10/ mo
Gyms where people can lift for $10/mo bro? I think only planet fitness or some other gym for SJWs are that inexpensive...
>and make sure you on good terms w. your parents too brah, make em proud.
Bad terms and they hate me :'( Maybe they'll be proud when I make it
It's an autoshop in a city, he has 4 dudes working for him, the guy is like 70 and doesn't even have a website or a computer, he still handwrites everything. Plus its in an area of town which is becoming a place for young professionals. I see lots of room to grow it, whatcha think?
>Tfw I have a planetfitness membership. Girlfriend wanted me to do cardio with her.
>Tfw I just sat in the massage chairs eating tootsie rolls and pizza for them gains.
It's like she doesn't even want me to make it.
Lol when I move soon I'm just going to use the nearby University's gym. Probably way better than almost all commercial gyms too
It's cheaper than commercial gyms even if you're not student/faculty/alumni... It's like $25/mnth
I'd go home gym master race if I wasn't getting kicked out of my house soon and my basement ceiling wasn't too low for a power rack anyway.
Lifting at home feels so nice, don't even have to clean up plates after yourself or wait for faggots to finish their retarded barbell squat-goodmornings
Power rack and bench at home.
Cardio and swimming and sauna at gym.
Can you add this video to /SIG/ OP next thread?
Also watch it guys, really motivating video about cool shit some dude on leddit started doing, inspiring/motivating as fuck
You know anything about autoshops? Cause it's time to learn. If the owner can make 130k, area is more than fine. I'm assuming you know what to do once you take over a business, man power and people wise. Growing, I don't see much. You'll reach a cap unless you go mr. lube style. But 75k+ in your pockets is still good.
I know a couple of dudes that own them back home. I've seen a similar sized shop in the same city doing 500k rev with 200k net profit, so i know its possible size wise. It's essentially about how many bays you have, and how full you can keep them. I'm basing the growth on the growth of the area that its in, retaining existing customers, and advertising for new ones, something which the current owner has never done.
No, but I've met him. Well, his office was 2 minutes from where I used to live, and I pulled up at a round a bout next to him in his orange lambo and told him he was a shreded cunt, when he got to his office i pulled over and told him he had an insane bod, no homo of course.
It sounds like you're suffering from perfectionist thinking. You need to convince yourself that it's okay not to be perfect. Obviously don't fall into the tumblr mindset of "I'm perfect no matter how fat/selfish/arrogant I am," but reflect on how much you've improved your body, rather than comparing yourself to the juicers and superswoles. Tell yourself, and keep telling yourself even if it's hard to accept at first, that you're strong and athletic and keep improving as an athlete and as a person. Maybe do some strongman stunts like twisting a horseshoe or bending steel rods (in the interest of safety start with thinner ones), and don't be shy about doing it somewhere that people can watch and see how awesome you are.
Wake up, turn on computer, make a quick breakfast, eat it at computer, dress, groom, pack food, walk to bus stop. I started getting up earlier so I could eat home cooked food instead of buying it at my uni's student center and it saves a ton of money on top of being healthier.
Wow, just seen this kid I went to school with get involved with the Isogenix multi marketing shit. Please stay away from crap like that.
Also, we need a nickname for /sig/ visitors.
hey guys do any of you use lumosity?
i hear about it on npr all the time so i took their free test
is it worth paying for?
just to have something productive to waste time on every day?
Financebrah, my trusty friend.
Can you explain what virginfags should do(i'm sure would help a lot of people).
How do we get laid? Should we leave humanity, as well as mortal needs like sex behind?
I feel like once you get past about 18 years old you can no longer lose virginity in a non-awkward manner. How would you possibly tell a gril you're a virgin unless lie to her and just do it as you go along
I lost mine was I was almost 18, but that was to a girlfriend, so she knew I was a virgin.
If you want to lose it to a random, I'd just avoid bringing it up, most people will assume you aren't one if you're having sex with someone outside a relationship, and as long as you know how to fuck, then you should be fine.
As far as being in a position to get laid, you've gotta step them social gains up anon!
true brahs thank you
I feel like we must truly leave such mortal needs like sex behind though somedays, I think I've nearly transcended beyond the need for sex or gf
>tfw never even kissed a gril
I think it's like why even bother anymore lol, I think i might just bang some thai ladyboys or something eventually
Nah anon, bang that 9/10 you rub one off too, its possible, just takes a lot of work. My girl now is way out of my league, but shit I must have done something right! When you find a girl, come back and I'll give you some tips to make her panties explode.
Moving to Oakland CA in two weeks, around the Lake Merritt area. What gym is the best in the neighborhood? I'd go to God's Gym but I'm not black and the 24 hour fitness in Berkeley has always been shit, no dead lift area no real weightlifting area so i assume the Oakland one isn't much better. Most of the gyms seems to be fucking yoga or pillates studios so someone help me out here? Thanks
>He's a Freemason.
Well that explains a lot. I meet all the criteria mentioned in >>31284150 except for one - belief in a supreme being. Idk man, does evolution count? I'd really like to get in as well, they do some awesome shit. There's a lodge literally right across the street from my college and I just sigh and look at it every day, knowing I don't fit that one criteria, and that bars off so many dreams for me. Here's why I believe they should let me in regardless, greentexted for your convenience:
> Human service major, with plans to be a humble therapist.
Sounds simple, but not really. It requires a complete understanding of the human mind, and even worse, what can go wrong with it. Supreme patience because you'll be working with disordered individuals all day. And instead of being some Grand Leader, I'll be saving the world in the background, one individual at a time.
> Current GPA (this semester, so far) of 4.0.
> Active in a club...
Yeah just one but it's one that makes a huge difference in our school.
> Grew up in an abusive home, but turned out nothing like my parents and am going on strong through only the sheer strength of my will.
> All without Jesus.
Being atheist is kind of depressing, but I feel that belief in a higher power is just an excuse. An excuse humans make up because they can't deal with just how vast and dark the Universe really is, a vast cold hostile wasteland 14 billion years old, cannot come to terms with how small the Earth is in comparison. But it's this huge inner strength that allows me to carry this information in my head and my heart and keep moving forward regardless. I can face the darkness head-on with no Higher Power on my side. There are no voids in my heart that God needs to fill.
Huh, nevermind. Maybe I don't need the Masons after all?
lol we'll both be old men by that point.
Idk i'm honestly pretty disgusted by women in recent times, they're all so evil and manipulative. I have a phobia of women draining my ballsack and impregnating themselves and shit like that.
I just read a story on reddit about some senior in highschool who had perfect GPA and got accepted for scholorships then some feminist made up a lie about him and he got expelled and denied college. And that's just the most recent story I've heard about, I can't stand how evil these people are i wish i was just gay or asexual i never asked for this struggle
>no deadlift area
who cares bruh just deadlift on the carpeted area. Just check out all the gyms near you btw, take a tour because sometimes even the shittest planet fitness gym has power racks and stuff.
Srsly I was looking at some gyms and this one chain has no racks or anything in 90% of their gyms but then one has like 4 power racks and it costs less than most gyms and doesn't even have people who lift. So free power racks at all hours.
The supreme being can be anything, mother nature, the pasta monster, anything like that, nobody will ever question you about what you believe in, it's against the rules of a lodge to discuss religion. If they ask, you just say yes, and that's that. My dad professes a belief in mother nature as his supreme being.
The Freemasons really has 3 aspects to it, the Charitable, where you obviously do charity work and give grants and such, the spiritual, which helps enlighten you, and the social, where you eat and drink whiskey and beer. Go and talk to someone from the lodge, you might enjoy it.
DISCLAIMER: Every girl is different, this is just what I've found to work the majority of the time.
>Send them subtly little hints of what you're going to do to them that night
>If you really want to make her come a lot, do all the girly romantic shit, some nice candles and stuff, and give her a massage
>let your hands just glide over her sensitive parts, gradually getting a little harder each time, while still giving her a massage
Now at this point, one of two things will happen, she will be wet as fuck, and try and jump on you, or she will be wet as fuck, and be a good patient little girl.
>Slowly turn the massages into kisses, again lightly kissing her downstairs, but still all over her body.
>Tell her to put her hands behind her head and no touching
>Kiss right on her clit, and turn it to a suck, and watch her moan, then go to town if you're good at oral.
>Otherwise, my favorite position to make her come with my finger, is to lie on my back, with her on her back ontop of me, both face up, so my arms can reach around, 1 can play with the clit, and one can slide in and out.
>Make her come a couple of times
>Flip her over and fuck her doggy, making her come again, and making you come
Thats the basics of it, and what i do the majority of the time, sometimes she sits on my face, or gives me a blowie, or whatever. Sometimes I tie her up and blindfold her. I just fucking love making her come though haha
Meditation is definitely worth it. But I don't think you should see it as an addition to life. Samadhi means firmness or non-wavering of the mind, which needn't be too complicated. It just means that the mind is able to maintain alertness and attention. If you're restless then accept it, observe it, and just let it settle down. It's like taking a pot of boiling water off the stove and letting it cool.
Meditation is nothing you can't do daily. As the famed Ajahn Chah once said, if you have time to breathe, you have time to meditate. In other words, you can make every waking moment a moment of clarity and stillness. You won't necessarily be able to dwell in a deep meditative state, but you can still be focused and alert.
I think most if not all 4channers could use some meditation. There's a lot of restless and heedless posting that goes on.
>Protip: If you want your mind to be calm and clear, refrain from indulging in behavior that hinders that calmness and clarity such as trolling.
Financebrah, I applied to my local lodge and I was told back in December or something that they'll be in contact "in due course." I'm so eager to try to out, they have sorta like a university program here in the UK so for my local lodge (Birmingham) I thought it'd be somewhat more clear cut, it's the unknown that's getting to me. Any advice?
Hahaha, yeah I've had a bit of practice at it now. Also, Buy a vibrator, Easiest orgasm you'll ever make her have,
How did you apply to them? Find the lodge secretaries number and give them a call. It might be a while because if the lodge only meets once a month, they can only initiate one or two people a month, so there might be a backlog. But give him a call for sure, just to check.
I sent in an application last summer, it was while I was travelling so I didn't think about it and I put agnostic on the app. I realised why they weren't responding, so I emailed the secretary in November to assure her that I do believe in a higher power, just that I don't believe we will ever have proof, and she responded saying she'll pass it on and I should get a response soon. I did get s response a week later from the grand porter (or something along those lines, apologies since I can't remember the titles) and he said he's acknowledged my application and will be in contact in due course.
Good luck with your journey anon, hope it goes well.
Pic very much related
Hmm, I think I understand then. It's a motivational force. A goal for something out there that's bigger than ourselves, to help one transcend our human limitations.
Yeah, fuck it, that sounds good. I'll have to come up with an excuse for a higher being, but I'm thinking something more natural and concrete like the resiliency of life, evolution, the movements of the planets or something along those lines.
I'll be there tomorrow after classes to check it out and see how it is. Thanks for the tips brah, it sounds like a really great place. And thanks for these threads as well. I just made a habitrpg account, Cold_Slumber is my username if you or anyone else itt wants to be bros and slay dragons n' sh!t together in the same way that we conquer /life/.
Good man, you don't even have to make it up, as long as you understand it, thats all that matters.
Man, if the masons were a multi level marketing scheme, id be making sweet bank at this point!
how do I stop being afraid of sex and the thought of being intimate with someone? I can be friends my people of the opposite gender, I'm fine during social situations but I shut down when anything romantically/sexually related happens. Could it be my catholic upbringing? should I see a sex therapists?
I mean, that's the only thing "odd" in my life. I go to college, have a job and hobbies, and doing fine in all those things. I consider myself a happy person with friends and that is able to enjoy life in general. Dunno maybe I was fiddled as kid or something.
do you masturbate?
i would stop and let your sex drive take over.
also realize that guys take sex more seriously than girls.
to women sex is no different than kissing or shaking hands.
It's a fraternity, we have rituals and teach spiritual things about morality and how an upright man should live his life, and its a charitable group, we gives grants and such, and lastly its a social group, we drink beer and whiskey and eat and chat.
Just gotta practice man, thats all i can really tell you.
I didn't actually started masturbating until last year (23). now I do it like once a month, more than that feels "dirty". I might feel like I want to rub one off but I'm to restrain myself.
Sounds bretty cool, I think I need some sort of social group in my life. Would I be welcome if i don't smoke or drink? Who would you say it's good for as a member?(I'm guessing there would be different answers from members versus people speculating some shit or the internet)
I know but their wiki literally just says their history and talks about some lodges instead of telling me what exactly they do there.
see a therapist and jack off more for starters bro. Not fapping until 23 is legitimate cause for concern. Unless you're trolling that is very not right and you have developmental problems, how has no one ever talked to you about masturbation before?
That seriously sounds low test or some sort of health problem. Do you have a lot of muscle mass?
Yeah, I don't smoke or drink much, i know there are people in my lodge who do neither. I posted the reqs futher up in the thread.
ON ANOTHER NOTE, WE ARE AUTOSAGING, EVERYONE TO THE NEW THREAD
Oh you're a female... Oh ok thanks much better news.
Yes go to a sex therapist because that's not right and you have some sort of developmental problems. If you were a male it would be far worse I think
>Dunno maybe I was fiddled as kid or something.
i consider this a lot
i don't have much of a sex drive
i jerk off sometimes but sex irl i miss a lot of signals and spaghetti out of potential sexy time
i only ever jerk off if i'm browsing 4chan and see porn
if i stay away from 4chan for a while then i can go weeks and months without beating it
and i feel like a piece of shit after i beat it
i was legitimately scared of sex for some reason until a few months ago when i lost my v-card to a hoe from tinder
also i can barely get boners
Stop focusing on sex and girl and focus on being interesting. Go out more, explore more, do more things that are difficult and cultibate a personality, the rest woul fall by its own
