/SIG/ Self Improvement General.
NEW STICKY http://4chanfit.wikia.com/wiki//sig/_sticky
How have you improved yourself this week/month/year? Lifting isn't life, a well-balanced human being is productive, has hobbies, pushes him/herself to succeed, is charismatic, and strives to live the best life they can. Share your successes, failures, methods, and everything in between.
The sticky is divided like so:
>Some tips to get your life back on track.
>Study and Career.
>To-do list habit.rpg (If you’re lost. Start here)
>Focus and meditation
>Have a productivity Framework that is flexible. A mindset that gets you going.
>Use a calendar, like google calendar. Hours and shit for things YOU WILL DO.
>Learn to focus.
>Do routines for things you should do periodically/daily, this should cover daily things or weekly chores such as laundry, cleaning, shopping.
>Identify and Eliminate conflicts within yourself.
>Focus on identifying the time wasters in your life and eliminate them.
>Focus on the essentials. If you try to do everything at once you’ll burnout. Little by little.
>This is a good ‘sticky’ for self-development

>If you think there is material that should be added (Or taken off). Please say so.
>There is no central authority for the /SIG/, everyone could copy, modify and upload the info here in a latter post.
>To future curators of the /SIG/. Stray away from PUA, and avoid Fedora stuff please.

Material reading can be tricky. There will be trash here and there as we're not /lit/.
But we have to trust others.
Image related has a detailed list that an Annon provided on a thread a while back. If you got time to kill, click on the image, and read the descriptions
As time goes, the /SIG/ has had a couple of books recommended. I’ve done my best to try to get talks of the authors of such books so you can get a ‘piece’ before you commit.
Google a bit about the book, if you think you can get something out of it, watch the talk.
In my opinion, try getting the books “for free”.
If you read it and get something out of it, consider paying for the book.

>Freedom is having control of your life
You should at least have 3 hobbies/activities.
-One that will pay the bills, gets food on your table
-One that will keep you in shape. (lower you faggot)
-One that you're passionate about and might be able to develop into a career.
If you're into lifting, taking the tips to better yourself should be simple; as you already have built some self-discipline.
Make peace with yourself and the way things are right now.
Stop thinking the world owes you, how destiny ‘fucked you over’, how those guys have it easier.
Accept things as they are, realize that life is cruel and your circumstances are the ones you were given. You can’t do shit about the starting point, but you can move forward.
Don’t focus in what was given to you, focus in what you’ll achieve.
Eliminate the things you dislike about yourself, about your life. Is as simple as, do you enjoy your job? No? Take steps to change the feeling.
How are you gonna make that? You either make your job more enjoyable, or you change jobs. Simple.
You want a girl? how do you plan to achieve that? Are you too socially inept? Work on that.
Are you piss poor and can’t afford a decent living? Work on that too.
No matter who you are, where you are in your life, or how fucked up you think you are.
You can improve your life. Take control. Move forward.
Dreams keeps us alive, fighting for them makes us feel alive.
About 5-7 years ago, I was a fucking train-wreck.
Right now, I'm doing fairly well.
Get some discipline, set some goals and a way to achieve them.
Cultivate yourself, learn stuff, get your shit together.
And realize, understand. None is coming to save you.
You got to make your way through.
You NEED to take CONTROL.
If you're still in School. For fuck sake pay attention.
MORE than half of actually doing good in school is attending, the other half is paying attention in class. So then do it.
Or stop it altogether.
If you’re in college and you’re not feeling it, take a semester to think things through.
If you’re in high school, don’t think YOU NEED to enter college to be successful. There are other ways…
Google just started hiring people who never went to college.

Some learning resources, focusing in code since I’m an ‘IT’ guy:
First and foremost. Free language learning tool with a really robust app. THIS IS A MUST. Learning a new language will help you out no matter who you are.
Teaches you the basics, from the ground up.
Similar to codeacademy.
Personal favorite. This guy step by step, learns a shit-ton of programing languages. Give this a check and start watching something you’re interested in.
This one I really like, once you get your shit going, it puts you ‘objectives’ to solve through code, last batch are really complex.
It’s a really nice online-course platform. There are really good things here as well.
>openprocessing.org / processing.org / codepen.io
These sites display some really cool stuff, where you can also check the source code and modify it to see what happens.
As for career options.
Choose anything you want, If you want to go into Philosophy or Social studies, That's fucking great. As long as you’re passionate about it, you’ll find a way.
You can always become a teacher or a writer.
BUT BE FUCKING AWARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING MONEY. Don't get a loan to study shit that will be expensive to repay.
Other than that, don't enter into something soulless just because 'I'll get money'.
You only got one life, don’t waste it doing something you hate.
You must have a to-do list, it's pretty essential.
As for which, there are several options
Google Keep, Evernote or whatever suits you.
But currently I suggest you use:
There’s even a /fit/ guild created to keep us in check.
It’s certainly geeky as fuck. But Gamification has been proven to work when applied to certain aspects of human psyche. Helps you stay in check and keeping your eyes on the trophy.
Stupid trivial things I used to do, I stopped once I placed them as ‘Bad habits’.
It also has a mobile app, while it’s a bit limited and on construction, it is free.
There are three main categories.
>Habits. These are things you do by impulse, not under a schedule. Can be good or bad.
+Go for a jog
+Sleep early/on time Sun-Thu
+Walk the dog
+Go for a ride
+Cook something new
+Go out and socialize
+Spend time at the shelter
-Eat Junk/Dirty bulk
-Stay up late Sun-Thu
-Play 1.5+ Hours vidya a day
>Dailies are things you ALWAYS do. Every day or certain days of the week. Planned, they are only good.
+Lift (m - w - f)
+Eat your macros(daily)
+Buy Groceries (Sa)
+Read 30 min (daily)
+Practice the Guitar 30 Min(daily)
+Study Video Editing 40 Min (daily)
+Cook (We, Sa)
+Do your daily points in duolingo
>To-Do are, well, things you must do. You can have a checklist within one To-Do.
()Fix the shelf
()Go to the post office and send the package
()Buy the ticket to the concert
()Pay the landlord
()Organize my trip to the moon
—()Get the rocket tickets
—()Get the reservation for the moon Hostel
—()Buy some moonars to have some local money
—()Buy a map of moon city
Seeing the numbers go up (or health go down) is a weird sort of motivation. I can vouch for it. Give it a try, if you have no idea where to start, This is a good one.
Fill your bad habits, put the to-do’s and take it from there.
Meditation and focus is still under construction.
So is Finance for that matter.
But, For finance, there are some tips and tricks from FinanceBrah:
To get started, you obviously need to get an income sorted, now, there are 2 main ways to make money, work for somebody else, or earn money yourself.
Working for somebody else is self explanatory, you go out and get a job, busting your balls, normally for peanuts if you don't have a great career, and doing that day after day, year after year. Is this always a bad thing? No, most people start here in fact, it tends to be a good, at least consistent way to make money. People do it there whole lives, and that's up to them.
BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, I DON'T WANT TO BE BUSTING MY BALLS TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE A LOAD OF MONEY, I hear you say.
Earning money for yourself.
Again, there are two ways to do this. Firstly, is ACTIVELY earning it, creating a business, that you work at and it provides you with profit, and PASSIVELY earning it, meaning you put money you already have to work.
I can't possible cover off every single way to actively make money in 1 post, but if it interests you, look into it. You can start an online business while you already have a job, if you still want the security. You can start a side gig on the weekends, you can import and sell at markets or online. You can jack it all in, and start a physical business (please don't do that without serious thought) Actively earning money is one of the most rewarding things you can do, IMHO
>Low start up cost businesses/part time
There are hundreds of articles out there, have a look, see what you think, and do your research.
BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, NOW I'M EARNING ALL THIS MONEY, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT, SHOULD I BUY A FERRARI?
You save it, live within your means, don't go into high interest debt, keep your expenses as low as possible, the more you save, the more you can put to work, and the more you can earn without lifting a finger.
Passively earning money.
I like to call this putting your money to work for you, money you saved, investing it, and getting a return on it.
I CAN MAKE MONEY WITHOUT WORKING FINANCEBRAH? ARE YOU FOR REAL.
Yes. This is how most people become wealthy, saving money, and getting a big return on it. But how do you do that? Again, there are hundreds of ways. As a general rule, the higher the risk, the higher the reward. What you invest in depends on your investment strategy, including what return you want, and what risk you're willing to take.
Read it and create one, it should tie in to your long term goals.
Again, too many different kind of investments to cover in one post, here is a good overview of them.
This is the risk order:
I personally prefer Real estate, forex trading, and stocks. There is so much information out there, I can just encourage you to read and learn as much as possible. See what suits your life and where you live.
FINANCEBRAHS RULES ON HOW TO BE FINANCIALLY SMART
>PAYING OFF HIGH INTEREST DEBT IS THE BEST FORM OF SAVING THERE IS, payday loans first, credit cards, ect.
>NEVER GO INTO DEBT TO BUY THINGS THAT DEPRECIATE, IF YOU CAN MANAGE IT
>LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. THE BRAND NAME BAKED BEANS COME AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK
>AVOID ALL LATE PENALITIES ON DEBT
and the most important one.
TRY AND SAVE SOMETHING EVERY PAY PERIOD. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS $1, SET A GOAL OF HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO SAVE AND FUCKING HIT IT, PUT IT INTO AN ACCOUNT TO BE USED ONLY FOR INVESTING.
>$80 for the whey
please tell me you didn't seriously do this. That's jsut a marketing trick bro, just get the cheapest whey you can it's all created by the same process. Only difference is taste usually.
So financebrah as I was saying in previous thread about freemasonry, what would we doing most specifically?
Is it just a bunch of men hanging out together? What is the common thing that draws everyone together?
It seems interesting but I'm just a little confused by the vagueness. I'm not sure if I have the right idea in my head or if it's something a bit different.
I did get it. It felt more like if I didn't put the money, I wouldn't force myself enough to go to the gym. If I spent $10 on the gym and $30 on whey, I'd be like, "eh, I don't lose that much if I don't go/use it". But if I spend $100+ I'm going to force myself to do it, even if I hate it.
You normally go to lodge night once a month, initiate new candidiates, have presentations from older members or vistors. Your lodge might visit others lodges. You always have a huge meal together afterwards. It's great for networking and i love the teachings. Get in contact with your local lodge and talk to some members about it.
Ok thanks I'll try to find more info from my local lodge. I'd love to cool stuff and meet new people.
I buy the same amount of whey for half the price and according to le reddit testing it's among the highest tested actual protein versus advertised(higher than ON whey even).
Anyways, I'm going to bed because it's 4:15. If y'all have any questions, tag this post and ask, ill check it again when I wake up in the morning.
Goodnight anons, we're all gonna make it brahs.
>The New Member
>Another great benefit of Masonic membership is Masonry’s universality. No matter where a Mason goes in the United States, or in most other countries, he is never far from a Masonic lodge. The lodge is a home away from home for countless Masons who would otherwise on many occasions be extremely lonely. An American member can feel at home, for example, in a French or a German lodge, although he may not understand a word that is spoken. The ritual will differ in some respects from nation to nation, even from state to state, but the teachings and the basics will be the same. And the all-important fellowship is ever present. Lodges go to great lengths in making welcome a visitor from far away.
>Few things can be more valuable to a Mason than the friendships he establishes in Freemasonry. It is said of the fraternity that it “conciliates true friendship among those who otherwise might have remained at a perpetual distance,” and few truer statements were ever made. Extremely shy individuals, men that previously found it difficult to mix with others, have been known to establish friendships by the score upon becoming Masons. Time after time, Freemasonry has demonstrated its ability to bring together and unite men who would have otherwise been forever separated. The unique bonds of the fraternity are invaluable to its members.
Is this really true? Do other masons feel like brothers?
Yes, we call each other brethren. Or Worshipful Brother anon, or brother anon.
It's great, I'm friends with people from all walks of life because of it.
Off to bed now, keep the thread going!
For when you get back but what is the general political view of your mason lodge?
I know it says they don't really discuss politics but surely there must be some general vibe, you know what I mean? Like are they all liberals with face piercings and dyed hair or maybe respectable Nat-socs?
Oh nice, I'm reading the website of my local lodge right now and it's just so vague... Could you please explain what I would be doing if i were to join? Or is it just not anything specific and kind of hanging out and talking to eachother?
I just don't want to show up and started discussing national socialist ideas or make a jew joke and they look at me funny.
It's good for practice, but not for learning
why post multiple links fro the same thing? plus I don't think learning a new programming language is going to be life changing for most people around, in fact it might be worse. Most people around spend a lot of time sitting around in their computers, they should try to focus their attentions in learning things that dont involve staring at a screen.
how do I work up the courage to blaze my own path?
I aspire to be something, to make something of myself and not fall into anyones plan for me.
the issue is living this
after uni i could easily take a job and fund my passions as hobbies on the side but that's just an ends to a means- who knows if I'll even enjoy or be interested in the job
the only other way is investing in myself to be the best I can be and a lot of luck.
What do I do, more over
How do I do this?
(time for bed class in the morning, please chime in with your advice anons, it'd be really appreciated, financebrah included >>31293873)
>>Send them subtly little hints of what you're going to do to them that night
this is good
how do you do this?
i've been seeing a girl and we haven't gotten intimate yet
i like to tease her a lot though
if she needs help with an electronic i really like to get up behind her and press my hips against hers and get my face close to her and focus on what i'm doing and pretend i'm not thinking about her
whats that picture with 4 categories its like your dream body, your dream style, dream hair, and dream partner? anyone got the template for it? i wanna make one and a thread for it. sorry if this is the wrong thread i cant find one and dont remember the name of it to google it
recommend me an audio book that'll have a lot of seeders
i didn't sleep last night
i've got my day planned today
gonna hopefully go grocery shopping today so i can stop getting carryout and eating like shit
gonna try to start cardio this week
turn down for finals next week
I have a lot of trouble sleeping. My mind basically goes nuts and starts to review my day and bring back shitty memories.
I tried meditation and relaxation techniques but I always end up wandering with my mind.
The only way I can sleep is when I'm so tired that I can't even formulate thoughts in my mind. This usually happens 2 or 3 hours before I need to get up and go to class and as a consequence of this, I've skipped a lot of classes because I'm terrible at waking up if I've had a shitty sleep.
It's really ruining my life, any advice you guys can give me?
I'm working on a story now and trying to decide if I want to turn it into a screenplay or a book.
I also plan on building my portfolio by writing articles for some small media sites if I can on the side
There you go, you've answered your own question anon! I'm not familiar with the steps to become a writer, but just set that as your long term goal, set smaller goals to get you there, and youll be there in no time.
How did you guys decide what you wanted to do as a career?
I've never really had any interests other than vidya and im getting bored of that now, left school at 16 with only GCSE's (high school diploma for ameritards).
It's been five years and i still dont know what to do.
I find that I sleep a lot better after having a productive day. Obviously exercising helps you feel fatigued, but I find when I set my head on my pillow and I have had a day that I have put to good use, my mind is more at rest and I can drift away easily.
I also feel rested the next day when this is the case, even if don't get a full 8 hours.
Getting up one more time bros
Do you trust me giving you a .exe file to run? Besides, it's not some personality trait psych 101 thing. It just spits out a random career, and heavily oriented in engineering.
Why would you, of all anons, need it? Don't you already have a full time job? What about the autoshop you were planning to buy?
First of all, holy shit your fucking post number is a palindrome, and a dope one at that.
Secondly, not at the minute, im waiting to finalize the purchase now, i just thought it would be interesting.
What career did it give you?
Can't I just meditate with closed eyes? What is the difference?
I get extremely distracted when staring at the same spot for some time, the image burns into my eyes (we all know this) and the tiniest movement distracts me.
I meditate with closed eyes and most of the people I know do it that way as well. I've tried opening my eyes in longer meditation sessions and it is an interesting experience so whatever floats your boat.
I recommend you this guided meditation by Sam Harris:
You start with your eyes closed but at some moment in the meditation he tells you to open your eyes. It is a pretty cool meditation, check it out.
>tfw had very nice bike ride from and to work
>tfw had a nice workout
>tfw saw shitload of chicks ( god bless working at the hospital )
>tfw msged another 3 chicks on the dating site
>tfw spring is in the air
>tfw today was a very good day and another step on the road to becoming a guy i want to be
If only i didn't had such a problem maintaining eye contact with chicks .... ;___;
Gj anon, just practice keeping it with random people when you talk to them, it quickly becomes a habit and you'll look alpha as fuck.
>tfw I'm flying my girlfriend to the UK this week for her spring break so i can have that view for real.
>Do you trust me giving you a .exe file to run?
why wouldn't i trust an anonymous user on an online acadian dessert cookbook?
> It just spits out a random career, and heavily oriented in engineering.
how random is it?
i'm studying comp eng anyway
>tfw have terrible sleep lately with fucked up dreams of banging qts or doing cool shit but wake up with a headache and unrested, usually sleeping for ~12 hours
what do? I le had a dream I was getting intimate with this one cutie in public on the grass leaving bite marks on her ass and just banging dat shit then I wake up unrested as fuck, sleep for 3 more hours, read the news in bed, fap and wake up to go brush teeth and put chicken strips to cook
what could be the reason for this?
>just practice keeping it with random people when you talk to them, it quickly becomes a habit
But how ??
Im literally shitting my pants when i have to look into someones eyes even tho im 6'4" 260 lbs ( all fat so no big guy comments plz ) guy ...
Its like a fucking auto-response of my head and eyes to look everywhere but not at that with who am i speaking ..
>tfw I'm flying my girlfriend to the UK this week for her spring break so i can have that view for real.
Mirrin and full jelly because obviously im tfw no gf, even obese nerds flake me .. ;_________;
i know this feel
unrelated, but i had a girl over the other day and we passed out in my bed and spooned and shit and throughout the night while i was less than half conscious for some reason i had the desire to keep moving one of my hands away from her stomach/breasts and over her throat like idk it was turning me on in a subconscious sort of way and i thought about it several times through the night
and then i woke up and took her home and remembered it and felt disgusted and i still feel fuckin creeped out by myself
Progressive exposure my friend. At first it will feel unnatural and you won't want to do it again (looking people in the eyes I mean) but if you keep doing it consistently, then you will adapt and you will loose that bad reflex.
Also, that pic you posted is gross. I seriously hope you're not turned on by that.
cant say I share that feel but damn bro my sleep is hella fucked up.
I'm sleeping like 10-12 hours a day and it's unquality sleep too... I'm angry as fuck at everyone too can't wait to move out and live in the mountain where i belong
Start putting yourself in awkward situations.
I would just say whatever i wanted whenever i wanted and not care about anything.
Bitches say some passive aggressive shit to me to le ruse me? I just say whatever i think of without stuttering or second guessing myself
You get hella test boost i think too from just doing whatever you want
>Progressive exposure my friend. At first it will feel unnatural and you won't want to do it again (looking people in the eyes I mean) but if you keep doing it consistently, then you will adapt and you will loose that bad reflex.
God i hope so.
Its so fucking hard my stomach turns upside down at the mere thought of this.
>Also, that pic you posted is gross. I seriously hope you're not turned on by that.
Well its little extreme but i am fan of big tits, blondes and flat stomachs.
Gotta try that one.
try to get less sleep
i generally feel better the less i sleep
my problem is making alarms work
i'll get up and walk across the room and turn off three alarms and then go back to bed
whenever i wake up at like 8-9 hours of sleep i feel so tired and cant even open my eyes and just incredible headache... so i always have to go back for like 3-4 ohurs more
i think im gonna pick up an amphetamine habit or something to help this
Try looking at it as a workout and leave your ego at the door when you're trying to improve, especially social skills. Not trying to sugar coat it, you're going to feel pretty terrible the first days or even months and in order to improve socially you'll have to drag yourself from the comfort zone.
That doesn't mean you need to do retarded stuff but you'll definitely need to do things you normally don't do and do them regularly because falling off the wagon is pretty easy and you don't want to start over and over again.
Good luck anon
so should I just force myself to wake up at like 6:30 every morning for example? Regardless of how much I slept or how refreshed I feel?
Theoretically after a while that should give me a routine and get used to waking up at that time, right?
But you did something right ?
Thats good but next time you will do better.
Yeah man, in times like this i fucking hate my former self who wasted entire youth on being fat, playing vidya and fapping to porn ...
>Yeah man, in times like this i fucking hate my former self who wasted entire youth on being fat, playing vidya and fapping to porn ...
not that anon but same story brah
>tfw I missed out on countless opportunities to get pussy as a teenager
oh well brah cant tread on the past just gotta keep moving keep evolving ya feel me
Don't look at it as wasted youth. I tend to think that everything happens for a reason, either for you to learn a lesson or to test you life values.
Everything that has happened in your life leads to this very moment, you wouldn't have this drive to change if you hadn't experience all those moments in the past. If you actually want your past to mean something, start working in the present you have.
Read Eckart Tolle's books, they're a bit new age but their deeper meaning might get you.
ITT overlogical fags guide to life
learn to live life spontaneously, find your passion and follow it. process your fears and anxieties so that they dont hinder you. For gods sake dont turn your life into a list of schedules and calculations. life is for living
Yeah man, im the founder and only member of the elite communist terrorist cell "People's Power".
I know i shouldn't look at my wasted youth and shit ... it just hurts as fuck and gets me pissed of to know that i have no hot stories of first sex, first loves and shit...
Ech, nevermind :/
Good thing im not THAT old so i will still slay some teenage pussy when i get fit as i like.
Haha dw, I'm fat too, neglected my eating while i was making bank, working it off now though, I'm 6'9, you've just gotta look alpha as fuck and people will think its true because of your height.
Yepp, all of them.
But nope, not unless you count the ones associated with freemasonry like knights templar.
Make up for it tomorrow brah!
Acceptance is key, my friend.
Also, don't delude yourself anon. Work on your social skills from day 1 or you'll regret it in the future when you're /fit/, nothing looks more ridiculous than a physically appealing guy with assburgers.
I really don't think that it's a thing.
Anyway, most people here are trying to stabilize their lives and better themselves, it's just as valid of a goal as having fun. The reason why your advice doesn't help too much is because it's basically "don't be afraid, learn X, do X", without any advice on how to. If you didn't know how to do it yourself, you would not be able to "just do it", don't you think?
Also, this "overlogical" process helps people ground them in reality, so they could maybe one day just leave the world behind and live in woods. Because if you still have your shitty job that you don't care about, all those minor spontaneous things don't help, and I wouldn't really call it much of a freedom.
I know that working on my mind is as important as my body man.
Chill im not a typical /fit autist.
Same here bro, here have another one.
Lol, is it legit or am i getting trolled now ?
NOW I want some advice from you. Pretty young person here, but 6'7 anyway, and I have a bunch of problems with my shoulders. I do not lift, I am somewhat close to skelly mode. At the moment, I am not really allowed to do much of anything that's not cardio. Really, even push-ups can be dangerous for my shoulders. Did you encounter anything like that in your life, and how fit are you now? If you are relatively fit/not clumzy as heck, it'd be very nice to hear.
>Lol, is it legit or am i getting trolled now ?
I can confirm that it can be helpful. That way, you are not actually making eye contact, it's like you are looking at a thing that is separate from the body. It is something that is suggested to some actually autistic people.
I've had tight shoulders, but I got a program from a friend, and it sorted itself out. Google lee Boyce shoulder mobility, he knows his stuff.
How fit am I now? Not as fit as I have been, used to be a 3 sport athlete and have a 34 inch vert. Now after my over bulk I'm more strong than fit, working on my cutting and cardio though to get back there.
>I can confirm that it can be helpful. That way, you are not actually making eye contact, it's like you are looking at a thing that is separate from the body. It is something that is suggested to some actually autistic people.>>
Cool, i will try that tomorow at work.
financebrah, is there a way to dispute a will?
Let's say you didn't get put in your parents will and your sibling got all their stuff instead, is there some way to dispute it and get your rightfully deserved stuff?
To all the people playing HabitRPG
I'm gonna be on vacation for a week soon, and I don't want to die in the meantime, since I wont be able to log in. Is there a way to adjust the settings or sth. in order to 'freeze' the game for a week?
Ok just checked, yeah I'd have to "challenge" the will and it says it's a lengthy and expensive process. Oh well if you wanna get guap you gotta hard as my nigga Jamal always said.
I hope these fuckers leave the house for me tho, I'll never have to work again lel

Sorry bro, i dont know what you were told, but God isn't pleased with you. Probably.
some more reasons;
John 14:11, 13 tells Christians to call upon God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Yet in Masonic lodges prayers are always directed to the generic 'Great Architect of the Universe'. Masons deliberately omit the holy name of Jesus Christ from their prayers.
Upon reaching a certain rank, people are called "worshipful masters", christians are supposed to reserve worship for the lord through jesus.

An online friend of mine told me I have sex appeal, that he told some girl about me and she was a bit in love with me.
I was shocked at that, because I have absolutely zero idea of how to have sex appeal and even less about how to display it. The one single thing I feel confident about is my Linux skills, my strength and a little bit my LOL skills (and I still suck because I'm at MMR 650 with like 65 wins and 90 defeats), and everything else I feel like I suck at it. I don't feel good about my body, social skills, dancing skills, nothing.
I also have a lingering feeling that I am childish and immature. I didn't mature while in college, all I gained was academic knowledge, because there was no time to grow up in computer science when I had to turn in a slew of assignments after assignments that only stopped the day I graduated.
So now I'm basically doing everything I didn't do in college, and this is a problem, because it means I am now getting in trouble at an age where I now have something to lose. I smoke weed and get mad shitfaced every other week, I hang out with borderline outlaws just to feel hardcore, and I recently totaled my car while on a drinking bender (I wasn't driving so no DUI, but I was the car's owner and had the obligation to not expose my car to danger and not go out).
Right now, dire financial straits are coming. I'm going to have to fork like 60% of my income towards buying a replacement car to prevent Shylock Goldberg from taking half my car's worth on credit interest, which means giving up all the luxuries I was used to. I feel like my life is going to absolutely fucking suck for the next year and I am not sure if I'm going to be able to weather that storm.

Thanks ;_; I was doing squats when remember they were going to restyle the gym and I can't finish the workout don't know if put it like done in habitrpg but any way tomorrow will be an epic workout I know, thanks again brehs
financebrah I read some reddit AMA's about freemasons last night. Seems bretty cool, my local lodge's website seems good as well.
Would you say the people there are more rightwing than leftwing?(I know it says everywhere that they don't discuss politics or religion during meetings)
Just because we don't just talk about it in the lodge, doesn't mean we don't when we get together for drinks and stuff. I know most of the guys volunteer for political causes.
I'll try to think about how I'm going to get rid of so much people who just want me for my money.
Well, actually, come to think about it it's just one single person, but here's the thing: this dude is one of my closest friends from high school. We met when we were young and money was completely irrelevant. Then I went to STEM and he went to design, STEM careers are few people and high demand whereas every year thousands of designers graduate but few people actually need them, and as a result I make like 3 times as much as he does. He let money get to his head and probably started feeling envious at me. Now he thinks he's entitled to have full access to my money and every time I tell him that I have no money or I tell him to pay his own shit (which is true because I'm a gigantic spendthrift) he loudly says YOU MAKE MORE THAN $50,000 A YEAR, WHERE IS ALL YOUR MONEY AND WHY DON'T YOU SHARE EVEN A LITTLE.
Yesterday we hung out, and I announced them that dire financial straits were incoming and I wouldn't be able to pay any more of his shit. His thought was "SO IF YOU SUFFER I WILL SUFFER TOO?". Bitch, you never pay for your own shit, of fucking course you're going to suffer if I suffer, and the only one who is hurting you is yourself because you always rely on others and never on yourself.
So now that I won't have any money, this guy is probably not going to want to hang out with me anymore. Serves me right, since he's been slowly showing signs of slipping sanity and his attitude has been worsening since we left college.
Kewl. So if I were to say some national socialist ideas and make a couple jew jokes I wouldn't get looked at funny?
If so I'll probably check out my local lodge when I move soon.
;-; I've done that for almost every friend I've made(not that many truth be told). They usually respond to it in a encouraging manner.
Maybe it's just because I see if they would agree or be opposed to it before I approach them. But so far 100% success rate.
I'd refrain from the Jew jokes, but I make socialism jokes all the time, can't stand socialists.
Haha, yeah I'm too nice with my money so i dont know that feel, but real friends aren't friends with you for money reasons, obviously.
Worst thing is I don't even ask for much in that regard. I'm actually OK with that other friend who is always polite when asking for me to pay his stuff, always says in advance he has no money and never orders too much. That other dude literally orders like he had the money to pay for it and then expects me to foot the bill. This will come to a stop though, and he will have no choice but to pay himself or hit the road, and I think he will choose hitting the road.
Sweet. Some of the people in the reddit amas said that masons tend to hook their brother masons up with jobs. Is this true that you've heard or seen?
Also I've heard that in some lodges almost all members are 60+ for example and so the younger guys stop attending because no one to relate to.
First point, yes, it's a very good network to be a part of in that regard.
Second point, yes, they really need younger members, I'm 23, the next youngest person in my lodge who regularly attends is 50ish. Personally I think its great, one of my good friends at the lodge just turned 90, I've learnt a lot from him, and everyone in general, its like having 20 grandfathers would be one way to look at it.
Hmmm that sounds both good in some regards but also not so good...
I guess I'll still check it out though and if anything might just only visit a few meetings once in a while if there isn't very many people 20-40. I just feel like I'd stick out like a sore thumb and it would be really awkward...
I'm poor as fuck and looking to meet people in a new city, plus I really need a job. If being a freemason could help me find one I'm down. How does one become a mason? What are the requirements? How much does it cost? Sorry if these questions have been answered already, I'm rushing around to finish my dailies today before I have to go to bed.
My Dad is a mason, but no, that isn't a requirement.
It might cost $200 a year for your dues, but don't become a freemason just to find a job. Google your local lodge and talk to your secretary.
Both, you're a mason with a home lodge, when you go to that lodge you can vote in lodge matters, when you go to other lodges, you will be received as a visitor representing your lodge.
Not really it at all.
My life is boring at the minute, I'm in the process of buying a business, so i just keep track of all the markets, read the news and then learn from articles or books or whatever.
Just learn as much as you can, and save as much as you can while you don't have to worry about living expenses. Knowing how to manage your finances when you leave home will put yo ahead of 90% of your peers
>tfw your parents don't know shit regarding finances or even life in general except for some things
Should I bother teaching them, financebrah?
I've gotten in several arguments with them about how investing is a good idea and they just shut me down and say the typical excuses as well stuff like "well we're older than you so we have more life experience and we know things aren't always they seem" or just shit like that.
I've tried to educate them on common nutrition myths and about investing and stuff but it's just doing more harm than good I feel.
It's okay, eh you can only teach people who want to be helped from my experience. Try to get them to read Rich Dad Poor Dad, that explains the benefits of investing wisely and why investing is better than working, but if they resist, there isn't much you can do anon!
Yeah I guess I should just apologize to them and try to not bring up subjects they could disagree about. Better to be on good terms with them than to be right I suppose.
It just really bugs me some of the stuff they say, a lot of it anyone who knows anything regarding the subject would just laugh in their face and spit on them.
I think one time they were telling me that index funds are a stupid idea lol
Eh, honestly each to their own, maybe you can't teach old dogs new tricks haha.
My dad is a qualified accountant, and I still give him investment advice. But like you say, better to have a good relationship with them.
>tfw doing a lot of MDMA recently
>tfw discovering that people don't secretly hate me at all, that I'm a fucked up paranoid idiot that needs to get out of his own head and start being normal
Hence why I'm here to not be a mental fuck up. Hopefully this leads to losing my virginity as well.
Feeling down. I've improved myself a ton, but not as much as I should.
I've lost about 60lbs, gained a decent amount of muscle. Look better than I ever have in my life. Dress better, talk more confidently. I got into a relationship for the first time with an absolutley amazing girl who I've now been with for 2 years and she is way out of my league. I dropped out of my shitty program and am upgrading my credits to go back to uni for a real major.
But its all taken me so long I feel like I wasted so much time. I've technically been lifting for 3 years now, a year and a half with a real program. But my squat is only 300lbs 3x5, I have to upgrade highschool crap at 24 because I was a retard when I was 17.
And now I've inspired all my friends to start lifting and I'm afraid what with my 15 months to get a 300 squat that they will quickly become stronger than me and I will end up being the underwhelming and below average guy of the group that I always was in my teenage years.
I wish I could be happy that I have improved, but I just feel like I failed in reaching the potential I could have reached.
Start doing a strength program if you want to go up, would be my first bit of advise.
And only time will change that mentality anon, just keep making those small steps every day, and realize the past is the past and you can't change it, you can only learn from it and keep moving forward.
I'm in my last year of EE, i'm excited to be making above-average starting salary for new graduate engineers but at the same time the past four years have felt like a jail, that's how busy I am. It requires a ton of discipline, and really sacrifices. People like to make jokes about picking two of either sleep, social life, or good grades but I find its exactly that.
The math is very serious. Whether it's extra-low voltage stuff, high-voltage stuff like power systems, you will see a ton of math.
I've been doing SS for 14 months now. Which is what I mean by I'm progressing too slowly. I spent a good 6 months on a cut however and had sciatica and was unable to squat or deadlift for 2 months which took a serious toll on my strength. But even so there are too many times where I either couldn't go up in my lifts, or I was too tired or where I missed a day due to getting called into work or something. I'm beating myself up because I know where I should be at if I followed the program better and I know how my friends will probably follow it better than I and end up outclassing me in strength where I failed. This is why I can't be happy with the progress I made, I know I should have done better and I know my friends will do better and the only reason that is is because I'm not good enough.
13 months is an awful long time on SS, as soon as you stop that linear progression and deload a couple of times you should move onto madcow or 5/3/1. Keep going though anon, lots of small gains add up to big ones in the long run.
>Low Fat Milk
Yes, I'm aware its a very long time, which is why I see myself as a failure. I would load up 5 or lbs more onto the bar and just fail so my progress went slow. I didn't switch off of it because my results weren't goon enough to do so. Everything I had read and everyone who had given me advice said I should continue on it until at least a 300lb squat, Which I am at now, so im about ready to move on, but my OHP and Bench are still terrible and should progress from linear progression.
financebrah, my best buddy what do you suggest I do for programming $ gains?
Should I learn some shitty android development(that i've been dreading for ages btw) to make an app for dosheroo?
first of all, /SIG/ is awesome. /SIG/ is all i've been looking these months.
Noticed /SIG/ three days ago, I've been visiting /fit/ since february couldn't post any reply because i didn't have my laptop and my phone is shit. I don't know how I missed this threads.
I'm about to ask a question, but i don't know if the thread is going to be kill soon.
Usually gets the limit of replies right?
How do I get a girlfriend as a neet?
It seems that to get girlfriend you need to have some sort of communication with the outside world and mutual friends, something like a job or going to school... How does one do this? After being neet for so long and being lonely I've just recently realized that I could in fact get a girlfriend instead of waiting around for something, I just don't know how.
working on it m8 it's not as easy of a task as just crushing my ballsack with my fingers and turning into a productive member of society
Probably the easiest way, or start freelancing on one of the many sites out there
Still 100 replies away
Don't go out looking for a girlfriend, just go out and try meeting people and you'll stumble across one
Goodnight /sig/kunts, keep them brain gains coming.
ok, and i'll again again in the next thread, just to be sure.
LONG ASS TEXT INCOMING.
I'm a 18y-o dude from South America who finished high school last year.
Now i'm starting the Uni (started like a month), i picked English translator, because I know some english thanks to internet and I also wanted to learn a bit more so I can shitpost better and maybe travel to USA.
Here's the deal: I hate it.
At uni I'm in the stage of "small classes for the admission test"
I hate almost every class.
Verbs, analyzing sentences, stupid rules... what the fuck. AND all of these shits also for my own language.
I hated language in high school and i still hate it.
Is not that hard for me, but I REALLY don't like it.
I think I can make it, I think can study any career and finish it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it.
Every class I feel sad as fuck, my mind goes "what the fuck am I doing here?"
I don't know if I should leave the uni.
I don't know what will my mother think, she really wants me to study something. She also paid for some "preparation classes" like 2 months ago.
We also had trouble because I didn't know what to study for a long time.
I'm living with my brother in another city, because the uni is there. I had to become more indepedent. We cook almost 50/50, and I love cooking, damn you can see the results of the effort of cooking after a few minutes!
I was thinking, if I leave the uni, I can study for chef. I don't know if i'll have the same trouble (hating everything about the learning process), but I don't think so.
Also, i don't know if a chef is well paid.
What should I do?
I'll visit my mom this weekend, and the addmision test takes place this 17 (I can take another, but harder, in april)
Should I tell her before the exam? Should I even take the exam?
My life is getting better. I started the gym last month, I'm eating healthy, I'm taking cold showers, I bought a bonsai 2 days ago. And now I'm considering meditation. Also, I'm thinking about buying a keyboard piano in a few months.
I wanted to kill myself, but those improvements made me change my mind.
The only bad thing In my life (besides all my beta past) is what I'm studying in the Uni.
Thanks for reading, I'm gonna repost this on /adv/ tomorrow.
Seriously, thanks for reading.
Just curious but what are all you guys lifting these days? Stat wise? Seems like everyone here for the most part are fat or out of shape. I mean makes sense as its the self improvement thread. But I'm wondering if anyone here has improved and is still around to give advice or get advice on other parts of their life.
Figure out if it's the coursework making you miserable or if you're miserable and that's what makes the coursework suck. English is convoluted as fuck, so it will only get more grindy and technical as you go on. If that's what's making you miserable then explore other options. On the plus side if your English proficient you could study abroad in America.
Law school is literally killing me. I'm finally getting my diet back in order, but I haven't been consistently lifting for about a year and a half. DDR is my main form of exercise.
Being the kind of person who has their shit together enough to actually improve their station in life?
If you're lonely and have nothing else to offer besides your loneliness, what girl would want to date you? What do you bring to the table?
Idk anymore man i just want to get away from my toxic family but i have no cheddar to do so...
I'm sure if i could move out I would rapidly improve myself and actually become a respectable man
>>worshipping a kike who died on a stick who was gay as can be
>>worshipping a kike who died on a stick with backstabber friends
he stand on His beliefs atleast
>>believing your local pastor who touches children's privates
>>giving money to a building of worship created by the guy who created the earth supposedly
This is literally only in murica
I know our(white people's) history is strongly based around Christianity but I'm not so sure I can practice and put my faith into such a shite religion that doesn't hold the same values as me.
Paganism is better in every respect than Christanity, you don't even have to believe in it literally, just as a great mythology filled with important lessons.
Maybe it's a stupid thought, but I guess all I want in life is to become somebody people genuinely enjoy being around. My new trigger I'm trying to internalize for when I catch myself fucking up on my goals is to think of landscapes, so many experiences and possibilities I'm closing myself off to by still falling into the patterns of the person I was.
Fuck it, put in your FAFSA, brush up on your scholarship letter writing and bite the bullet on loans for the rest. If you're of the age range for college, not doing so despite no other direction and weren't born into wealth, I just don't know what the fuck you're doing.
I know this may sound a little odd but can anyone provide some advice on how to get stressed or mad? For four years in college (which ended a year ago) I used to run and exercise every morning and evening with my rotc unit. During my early years when I lost a lot of weight and cut down on my run time, most of my thoughts were how much how I hated being there and how I was gonna manage my time/mandatory workouts/sleep/school aka stress. During the first year I had a sophomore that made my life pretty shitty everyday and almost all workouts.
Well needless to say for the past year after graduating nothing seems to bother me anymore. No situation provides stress anymore and when I workout there isn't any fire to keep me going. I know I shouldn't really be asking mental health type stuff here but I don't really feel anything anymore. Have I become dependent upon a drill sergeant type person and how do I go about fixing this?
I spend one minute a day entering data into an excel sheet; and I have done this for 137 days. It's basically a <4 sentence journal entry every day that I can control+f a persons name, location etc and I can see how i've interacted with that in my life.
February has been my happiest month this year.
Serious question here. How come the mods haven't deleted this thread? I think it's a great thread and I'm learning a lot of stuff but since it isn't strictly fitness related, I was wondering.
>trying to better myself in every way possible
>cant think of any other ways
Taking MOOCs, reading at least an hour a day, school and learning two languages, what else can I do
/fit/ is health and fitness, this is mental health
Yeah, that's a tough one, it seems like I sort of lucked into what social experience I've had. If I really get down to it though, it boiled down to putting myself out there in a way that back then was very unusual and uncomfortable for me to do. You're most likely going to have to take some sort of action, in any case, or be mired in your current social patterns.
Meeting new people after college is fucking difficult without a job. I googled my local Freemason lodge and their flyer says they're all about self-development, family and community. Maybe I'll look into joining.
Maybe the mods see that this is a thread that has civil conversations and ignores the trolls.
It's a streach, yes, but the basics of this thread fall perfectly with a person who lifts.
You wanna be better.
At the end of the day, it's a good thread.
I've was a /fit/ user for years before I decided to work on the /SIG/.
I've been a bit busy lately, but thankfully Financebrah has taken then torch.
Lmao no. /fit/ is unmoderated.
"Self improvement general"
Ways I've Improved:
>Ate to my macros
>Studied all my subjects
Currently trying to build up the time each session. I'm sort of building up my endurance I guess. I've never studied in my life so it's a new experience and I find it takes a lot of discipline. Building up to 45 minute sessions with 15 minute rests in between is the end goal.
>Got up early
>Read part of my book
Ways I want to improve:
>Start making mediation a regular thing and build up the duration of each session.
>I want to start talking to more people, I'm not some socially awkward cunt but I just get a bit nervous sometimes.
>I want to start getting some plates in my new setting. This pretty much goes with the previous point, I know I can do it but it's just nerve racking.
That's it for now, start slow and build up.
I love self-improving except for school. I still can't motivate myself to pull my school life together. Which is weird, because the rest of my life is going to based off of what I do in class the next couple of years much more than how much I lifted, what I ate, or what hobbies I had.
How do you guys find the motivation to study and do work? If I wanted to get homework done as much as I want to lift I would have straight A's.
I told my story in another thread, here it is.
And I don't really, I could fuck up and lose it all, but to me thats the fun of it
They just have to profess a belief in a supreme being, some are christian, some have less conventional beliefs. In all lodges, you have a volume of the sacred law, which in most christian nations is a bible.
I know a couple and they are good guys, personally not a fan of them as a whole though, I know people that have killed them self because they never fit in, with the not being allowed to celebrate birthdays and such. Also, I've known of people dying because the religion forbids blood transfusions.
They came to my house once when I was like 13 and home with just my brother, and i asked them to leave and they didn't. They came back for a follow up a couple of weeks later, my Dad answered the door and told them in not so many words they weren't welcome, with a large knife in his hand haha.
Oh haha, yeah I hear they're far more annoying in other places and lecture you but here they just give you a small brochure and wish you a good day, never saying more than that.
Used to have some good friends who were Jehovah's witnesses but we slowly drifted apart...
Do something NEW everyday, new excersise, take new route from work, take steps to finish all those things lagging behind that you always wanted to do ( fixing your teeths, jelqing, dance lessons whatever ).
If you play vidya, start FINISHING games instead of playing another rounds/matches/races on the same map with the same people, against easy AI whatever.
Pick up new books, watch NEW movies instead of watching the same one for the xth time.
Do something crazy like parkour, picking up girls in crowded places etc.
Works for me.
Thoughts on becoming a personal trainer? Seems easy as fuck to get certified and then you don't even have to give good advice to people.
I'll make sure to always be encouraging and tell them a lot of protein is bad and that cheat meals every day are alright, but always mention how much they've improved on a weekly basis.
Studying or working something you don't like is kryptonite for the soul and should be only done if you're so poor and down on your luck you have to settle for the first shit job you come across. You have to be motivated for doing what you have to do every day. By all means quit translation school.
That said, gastronomy is packed with girls who are just in for something easy or who just want to hook up and meet a husband. Every day scores and scores of chefs graduate and few actually manage to make a future. If you want to make it big I'd suggest something 1: technical, that 2: doesn't have a lot of people studying it. Accounting, finances and engineering are chiefs in that matter.
Interesting first paragraph. Also, I go to the uni at the morning, that's a shitty way to start the day.
I didn't manage to understand your suggestions well, i think those careers are related to maths, and I suck at that.
Talking about gastronomy... Yes, might be an "easy exit", but I think that studying that will keep me busy and "not unhappy". Also doing that will give me some time to think clearer. I can study something else before gastronomy.
I know I'm gonna tell my mother, I'm not 100% sure if I'll leave the uni.
I think I'm just looking for some approval of my decision in this thread.
Ok, I can speak pretty clearly about this. I'm from Georgetown Ontario, the watchtower aka the headquarters for the Jehovah's Witnesses in all of Canada, arguably all of North America is in my town.
There's a lot more going on with those guys than meets the eye. Like that one anon said I knew a girl in school who left and her family stopped talking to her. She had to move in with her aunt who the family does not talk to either. A couple of times on my way home from a friends house who lived near the complex I have seen big black buses with blacked out windows entering the front gates. That complex is huge by the way and extends underground from what I hear.
They all seem to have a lot of money. They actually recently bought a house at the end of my street, a huge huge house from an old woman who couldn't handle it anymore. They extended the house and turned the basement into more living quarters, got a sub pump and pretty much renovated the whole place and now a bunch of them live there. They all have the nicest cars.
Those guys are weird.
Yeah I knew some people who were jehovah's witnesses, it was really weird. Kind of like some brainwashing cult...
Do you think they should do this to them? >>31317947
And if so, it's your duty. You live near their headquarters it is your duty to do this anon. You must free the world of evil.
Hey guys. I have a question about motivation. I don't want to turn this into a cool blog bro but I've seen similar posts on here so I wonder if any of those posters can help. Basically, I can't even picture myself successful. Throughout school, I put my hobbies aside to focus on academics but I hated it. Doing well never made me feel good and I just wanted to get out of there. University was the same and I ended up barely graduating. I was NEET for four years and for three of those, I enjoyed it. Spending my days working out, reading and focusing on my other hobbies, but then I got a job and it reminded me of university: bored all day sitting at a desk and I'm miserable again. I want some forward progress in my life now but I feel like it'll all be useless. I get a job and I hate it. I get a gf and she's basically frigid. I don't have the time to focus on the stuff I enjoyed. I don't know how to make any friends. I've never felt less motivated in my life. I feel like I shouldn't even try. How do you guys do it?
I don't see a stupid question thread up. so I'll ask here if that's ok.
Is it true that taking creatine with coffee is counter-productive due to caffeine doing the opposite to your body, or is that just some broscience?
I usually put my 5g into my mug before heading to classes just out of easiness.
>Is it just a bunch of men hanging out together? What is the common thing that draws everyone together?
the single requirement for membership is you must have faith in a supernatural God who created the universe, they don't care which one you have faith in, they believe that when it is time to rebuild Solomon's Temple so Jesus can return... shit will have gone down so hard core nobody in their ranks will be able to deny the divinity of Christ and the need for his salvation to protect you from burning in hell when you die
that's why they are masons, that's why they teach you the layout of the temple, they are a shadow society spread throughout the world ready to rebuild the temple (the bible says Jesus can't come back and send the faggots to hell till the temple is rebuilt)
the last wall of the temple that exists is that wall the jews cry in front of
someday they will kill the Muslims who have a shrine on the old site, and rebuild
then things will be ok again and we won't have to worry
the idea is that the form clubs of like minded individuals all over the world and take care of each other and maybe give to charity to keep the lodge image up and wait for the end of days.
They are likely local businessmen and you will probably get mad hookups job wise and networking wise if you play along and really study their shit and get into it
that said they are not nearly as powerful as they once were, some lodges barely make rent, others are a "who's who" of the towns larger privately owned businesses (lawyers, doctors, heads of construction firms and local successful 5 or 10 location retail stores etc...
in my town they even let some Muslims in and give them the business about how they re going to realizes they picked wrong when the shit hits the fan, they laugh about it
not like crazy muslims, like old man who owns 40 gas stations muslims and his 30 sons
Masonry, like all the Religions, all the Mysteries, Hermeticism and Alchemy, conceals its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect, and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead those who deserve only to be misled; to conceal the Truth, which it calls Light, from them, and to draw them away from it.
>apply for any job I can (professional jobs so apps take at least an hour)
>nothing else to do in the meantime
what do I do with all this spare time? I just want to work and make money but whilst i'm looking i'm just so god damn bored.
I play/teach guitar and I can also speak a secon d language so I'm not really sure where to go from here.
>Masonry, like all the Religions,
Freemasonry is not a religion, there are Christian and Jew and Muslim and Buddhist Masons who worship as they see fit
it's a club for religious people but it's not a church or religion any more than the Boy Scouts are a religion ( you can't be atheist and be a boy scout but it's not a religion)
learn to code, it's fun and i got a job on the side just from dicking around here for a few months
it makes people think you are a wizard
just made this for you
Job doing what? Not that anon but I've been learning programming for some months now and I'm just not really sure i'm at the level to be applying for coding jobs yet.
How would you rate yourself when you got the job? When should I be applying?
I think the idea a talking snake told a lady to eat an apple and a guy had to be butchered like a pig to forgive us for being born after that happened and that kind of shit is retarded
I think it is wrong for the rich people of a community to create a secret society and only let their friends kids and other men the like join thus making it impossible for an atheist to join and get the benefits
in my town when one of the known mason run companies pus out ads for good jobs, it's just for a legal requirement some loge-member's kid has it already
however if that kind of thing does not bother you and you can get in to their insular little world
it could be good for you
i mean be honest, you want to get in to get jobs you would otherwise not get and networking you could not get if you were through no fault of your own....let's say....not likely to be the kind of person they want in their society ....because reasons
>Job doing what? Not that anon but I've been learning programming for some months now and I'm just not really sure i'm at the level to be applying for coding jobs yet.
I configure the servers (easy) then write the webpages for a flooring company
im not very good, my pages look good but today I spent half an hour going back over nested lists for a fly-out dropdown when i got confuses where i was in the css
i will literally sit there and read a manual for an hour straight and nobody cares
they think it's voodo
>i mean be honest, you want to get in to get jobs you would otherwise not get and networking you could not get if you were through no fault of your own....let's say....not likely to be the kind of person they want in their society ....because reasons
I want to be a part of a club and get to know people. They seem like nice and professional people who I feel we could certainly get a liking for eachother, I think they would appreciate me as I try to be as non-degenerate as I can in my daily life although I have some bad habits of procrastination and wasting time doing nothing at times.
Fuark... My nigga was planning on hooking me up with a job but I felt i didn't know enough at programming to be able to take it.
Should I go for it anyway and just figure it out as I go along?
what kind of job
what kind of programming
if they want to write security software for online transactions, don't do it
if they want you to do some PHP on a cat photo website, then you can fake it
>tfw you just lifted for the 15th time today
hold me bros, this is the longest i've ever lasted
>They seem like nice and professional people who I feel we could certainly get a liking for eachother, I think they would appreciate me as I try to be as non-degenerate as I can in my daily life although I have some bad habits of procrastination and wasting time doing nothing at times.
they always seem nice to the in crowd, i am not faulting you for it but i am sure the recruiters were nice to everyone on this bus
not saying they are that bad but that's why these societies form to keep "them" whoever that is, from getting "our" jobs
go for it if you are comfortable
you have to stop looking at like like that, you just go lift (say) 3days a week and that's it
that's your life now
Do you count how many days you have been at a job "OH GOD 23 DAYS IVE NEVER MADE IT THIS LONG""""
no you just have it as part of your life and ban the thought of stopping from entering your head, you just go,
if you are always counting days you are goign to be having debates about if you should go to the gym today in your mind, do you think that way about work? no you just freaking go
Is that video suppose to offend me lol
I would have happily been on that bus chanting and cheering with them
>tfw you don't have natsoc bros with strong values
>tfw you will never participate in Pogroms against the filth of society
Hold me ;-;
what is this
i don't fault them for being racist edgy teen frat boys
i fault them for not realizing if there are 20 teenagers on a bus singing
SOMEONE IS RECORDING IT YOU DUMB FUCKS
Wait so, is Freemasonry what you could call a "cult" then in your opinion?
It has somewhat of an eery feeling to it, similar to Jehovah's Witnesses. They of course don't seem to be that way in any descriptions whether their own descriptions or by someone else but I'm sure they wouldn't admit it if they were.
Just feels kinda strange, similar to how JW seem really friendly and good outward imagine when recruiting.
>Wait so, is Freemasonry what you could call a "cult" then in your opinion?
no it's not a cult, it's mainstream
they don't brainwash people, it's not a religion
it's more like "we are the REAL Christians! when Jesus comes back we are going to build his house! we are so bad-ass! week keep the secrets!"
then they hold bake sales and give money to children's hospitals
the jehovias witnesses are a cult, they are fucking insane, they are a religion, if you have a sick child who just need a blood transfusion, they will literally tell you to let your sick child die because they think blood is unclean or something. They go door to door and beg people to join, they find people who have lost their job or had a family member die and are weak and need love, then give that to them for awhile and convert people that way, it's basically all they do
the Freemasons is more like a frat club and they dont want you to join unless you have money or were one of their member's sons
however anytime you are training to fulfill religious prophecy and meet in secret and do a bunch of weird old man in robes and burning things ceremonies and shit
people are going to think you are a cult, and you can't blame them, .. you are bating the outsiders with your weirdness on purposes
>Oh ok that's good news. I think I will check out my local lodge then. Do I have to be a richfag though?
don't have to be
have you been asked to join?
normally you are supposed to join by becoming friends in the community with a traveling man and have him make an offer.
or if you are the son of a mason or nephew etc...
not too sure how just walking up asking bout joining works.... membership is declining though, might work
I'm training for a triathlon and my swimming is shit. I have a little over a month to get it together. I have to do a half mile once I make it to land I should be fine..
I just can't get motivated and I'm not comfortable with swimming in deep water
Well from what it says on my local lodge's website and the answers I've gotten from quite a few masons online is that you don't actually have to know a mason to join currently(not sure how it was in the past).
Btw what's up with all those Youtube videos with people saying shit like "33 DEGREES IN MASONRY = 33 BONES IN YOUR BACK, 33 x 20.18 = 666, satan worshippers confirmed"
"THERE'S A TRIANGLE ON SOME OBJECT, there's also a triangle in masonry simples illuminati confirmed THEY KILLD 2PAC"
Is it just insane babble and if so why is there so much of it around this versus nearly anything else?
> Get magic wand
> Do that weird spell Fleur Delacleur did in harry potter
> Or get the shark head the other guy did
> Get also boobs, because magic
On a serious note, why don't you work on your form for the next three weeks and do a couple of sessions in deep water the week before the event?
As for motivation, try watching some clips:
- The Gattaca swim clip is a great one (also recommended to all other /sig/opaths [I never saved anything for the swim back])
- I remember there are many James Bond scenes with swiming
- Olympics, maybe?
- Read the part of the Oddysey where Ulises swims to the island where he meets Nausikaa.
>Is it just insane babble and if so why is there so much of it around this versus nearly anything else?
Because the Masons do in fact have degrees and secret rituals that seem kind of pagan sometimes. all performed behind closed doors after studying their history
they bring it on themselves "oh look what we are doing in our secret temple with our weird symbols and oaths and chanting and shit"
of course people are going to say shit about devil worship
let me tell you a secret though, there is no such thing as the boogy man, you don't have to worry
remember Christianity is a middle eastern religion, there is symbolic blood drinking, Jesus has to stop his own people from beating women to death as the law commands for not being virgins,
basically the Muslims still believe in that type of religion, we just carry bibles back and forth to church and don't read them
if you sit down and read the bible you can really get a feel for why they are constantly cutting off heads and shit over there
they thought they were Samson bringing down the towers...
Paganism is bad ass as hell though you gotta admit.
I particularly like Slavic and Norse mythology, it's so awesome and way better than shitty Christanity or something.
Waaah wahh turn the other cheek, forgive your enemies while they cuck you in Christanity.
In Paganism brutally kill your enemies without fear or doubt and you will live eternally in Valhalla.
I guess, today it's grown men doing weird shit for the sake of being weird and preserving the stories of the temple ritual legend. The idea is keeping secrets, secrets of how to build the temple, if you get in they will yell at you and try to get you to give up the secretes, and if you don't they symbolically kill you, then you get in and pass
just a bunch of frat boy shit like that, but it's weird if you look at it from the outside
it's just hazing
>if you get in they will yell at you and try to get you to give up the secretes, and if you don't they symbolically kill you, then you get in and pass
Wait what, that doesn't make too much sense.
Are you a current or ex-freemason?
>>if you get in they will yell at you and try to get you to give up the secretes, and if you don't they symbolically kill you, then you get in and pass
>Wait what, that doesn't make too much sense.
you will see
just don't rat your bro out and you will be fine
well after they kill you and you come back to life that is
eventually fine anyway
They will pop your anal cherry. After that you will be a new man. A man that lives for other men.
Just kidding, I don't know much about masonic stuff. (I'm also not that other dude who posted). You should read some Manly Palmer Hall and 'The Golden Bough' by Frazer in order to get an idea of ancient initiation rituals.
