I am joining the navy in March
I have to be under 181 pounds to be able to be in the navy
I am 168 right now.
Is there any way I can do a small bulk for three months while doing cardio and everything to make myself as strong as possible before the navy?
I would have to keep myself under 181 the whole time
Is a lean bulk instead of 500 calories over it is 300 calories over?
I have been lifting and bulking and cutting for two years but I haven't paid attention to fitness lately.
Small surplus on rest days and bigger surplus on training days. Something like +100/500 is what I've been recommended when I asked before.
But if a 300 surplus everyday is easier for you and you're not lacking energy in the gym it should work as well.
A lean bulk is also much more strict on the diet and harder to pull off. It means that all your food should be as fat free as possible. Mostly chicken, fish, brown rice... you get the point. none of that pizza on cheat days or shit like that.
I've never done it, so i have no idea of how hard it is to pull off, but just imagine eating mostly healthy food and make a surplus out of it. we're talking about a lot of food here!
What if you are not doing full-body routines and go 6 times a week? Is it better if you do 300? Because with only one rest day 100/500 seems a bit excessive for a lean bulk...
