So who here can dunk on a 10ft rim? What's ur height standing reach and vertical what routine got you there or were you just nigger mode. I currently do calve raises, lunges, squats, box jumps, hamstring quad extension machines, what else should I do I can get my finger about 1 in above rim
I'm 6'4 with a wingspan of 6'10, played either basketball or football every day from like 6th grade on. I was able to dunk like every other time I tried but then senior year I played volleyball for one season and I started to throw it down hard. Jumping for three hours a day for two months during volleyball got it done
6'5" here, I can dunk, but barely. I always let go of the ball before I slam it. I just starting squatting, and doing deadlifts, and I've noticed that my vertical increased about 2 inches.
It's really about technique when you can touch the rim.
I'm 6'1, wingspan probably about 6'4ish. Can dunk two handed. Natural explosive, played lots of basketball since I was like 10, backboard slap drills. I think most important is when I was 13 or so my dad gave me a lowered ring in our backyard, and I had to be able to do 5 different dunks in a row without missing on it and he'd raise the height like half a foot.
6' tall can reach almost 8ft standing. Vert probably around 30in. Naturally explosive, but lacked strength so what helped me most was squats. It depends on your athleticism. If you don't have "bounce" like nigs do cleans and box jumps. If you have bounce but weak legs, build muscle. If you want to jump higher practice jumping.
What our coach did for us was jump rope. Try to jump as high as you can constantly but when you land. Land soft on your tippy toes. Keep doing this and in about 4 months you'll be able to dunk. Depending on high. Also do high/explosive squats here's a video of Steven Jackson doing them. Really good for bouncing.
