Hey /g/ I just got into pc gaming so I bought a sh8t cyberpc gaming pc for myself. I changed the power supply to a evga 750 power supply but when I turn on the computer, all my fans run but I get no display? I checked for loose cords, graphics card, and my motherboard and they all seemed fine. Any help?
Post pics, its most likely a loose connection or something needs reseating.
Try running everything barebones for now, take out the RAM too and see if it acts differently. Are there any beeps?
so I followed /g/ advice and installed arch linux on my desktop pc. I have steam running but all the games that I usually play don't work. What the fuck I'm supposed to do now? I don't watch anime and browsing 4chan all day is kinda boring. At this point I'm ready to format this shit a just go back to windows.
Let's talk Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
Isn't technology great? It is connecting us in ways never thought imaginable. I can keep up to date with a larger group of friends by using Facebook. I can keep up to date with a larger professional network on LinkedIn. and i can see what the individuals of a website, a sports team, a company, a movie, etc are up to on Twitter.
If you don't use these services you are just handicapping your life and living at 1980's capacity in the year 2015.
Tor, freenet or i2P and why?
Tor's by far the best proxy, and its hidden services have all the big markets and so on.
I2P is technically interesting, and there's a bunch of neat stuff happing on the network. It also has bittorrent. It makes a terrible proxy though, as wasn't designed for it.
Freenet's all but dead.
I want to vertically flip every page in this Word document, is it possible using this program or will I use something else?
It's for a book and the post that helps me will get included
Hey /g/uys. So, I run a computer shop and fixed a tablet for someone today. Replaced the motherboard, and the gentleman promptly took it home and hooked up a power supply with too much voltage to it.
Doesn't understand why it doesn't charge.
Gonna be a long weekend. I can feel it.
Where are you from?
Is the location of your shop important to it's success?
How much do you earn?
How many hours do you work?
How many people do you employ?
Starting a repairs shop is something I've thought about for a while now but I've seen so many come and go in my town the past few years that it's put me off.
>so many come and go in my town the past few years that it's put me off.
Not OP, but try to get a grip of what those shops specialise in.
TV repair is a big business, since the cheapest consumer trash LCD TVs fall apart within 18 months because of planned obsolescence, and all you have to do to fix them is replace the capacitors.
I used to work at an repair shop but it was back in the day of old "dumbphones" when you had to have a specialised "debugging"...

So yesterday I recolored the Faenza icon pack to a nice shade of Debian red. I think it's okay, still needs a bit of work though. Thought I'd share again in case somebody wanted it:
Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm quite fond of Debian and its comfy shade of reddish-pink. It's possible that I've taken it too far, though. Pic related.
Uptime thread? Uptime thread.
Will this do?
Any thoughts on this build,
meant for (future proof) 1080p gaming
Hdd will be used from old pc
Suggestions for power supply brands ?
I've got the same mobo, psu, keyboard, ram (different color and 16gb) and case. I'm very happy with them. And a very similar monitor (1080p 144hz) for the same price. I have a 980 and an i7 4790 though. A 970 won't get you 100+ fps with good settings on most modern games, that's why I've got the 980. I'm thinking about replacing it with a 980 ti, and getting a second one or if pascal is really that great replacing it with the next 80 ti.
I need a new smartphone, /g/.
I want something I can run AOSP clean on or at least CM, with good screen space usage (for example in the Meizu MX4 the bottom of the screen is used only for the LED indicator so the bottom of the screem is basically useless. same for Nexus series. I currently have the Note 3, which uses all of the screen space with analog buttons.)
That's all I care about
Well you need something with soft-buttons like on Samsung phones. Maybe get a Note 4 or 5 or S6 etc.?
iirc though you can hide on-screen buttons whenever you want so it shouldn't really be a problem either way.
what are some cheap, hackable devices? looking for shit i can run linux on for cheap.
not quite the Linux you're looking for, but you can install Cyanogenmod (custom freetard version of Android) on several phones and tablets out there.
I had fun installing it over the stock ad-infested Amazon version of Android that came with my Kindle Fire tablet.
how can an OS be this based? how is this even possible?
I don't know. 60% market share, I guess people really like it. It's unbelievable, isn't it? :^)
Daily reminder that the people who actually use computers around there don't bitch about "typist vs. gaymen" keyboards.
>mechanical switches confirmed for manchild gaymen cûcks.
Enjoy your overpriced communication interface.
Thinkpads X and T series. Dell Latitude E series. They have taste for their choice of technology.
If a mech board provided a real advantage on anything other than wasting your time and money on video games, we'd see more of these in real life environment / pictures.
What happens if you do a SLi on a mmotherboard that only supports Crossfire?
It wont work due driver limitations.
LGA775 was the last platform as I remember where hack drivers worked and Ive seen setup running 8600GT or 7900GT i cant remember in SLI mode on a crossfire board.
Case in point >> Shuffle Player looks alright, isn't bloated with unnecessary features, all seems to be fine.
Then I play 30-40 mins. of music and the shit drains my battery from 50% to 18%, consistently for the past 3-4 days. The fuck.
Google Play Music seems a bit less aggressive on my Nexus 5 shitty battery, but it's fucked up on so many levels, I don't even wanna go there.
So, /g/ which functional (as a bonus - beautiful?) Android music player doesn't annihilate your phone's battery?
