Anybody here use SourceMage?
Seems pretty cool.
Plan to do it next month. Installation seems pretty much like gentoo so is no problem. Sorcerer rocks, never seen a package manager like that before and not just for the cool names.
what's the difference between that and gentoo?
and the ebuild manager? how's that different from portage?
what about community? I speak russian, but I don't have cyrillic keyboard, so I won't go there to ask shit because fuck learning another layout
Hey guys, I got an Ipad air for my birthday and I was wondering if you guys could recommend some fun/interesting/useful things to do with it. I've never really needed one but it seems like a fun toy.
I'm thinking maybe some educational music programs to start.
So I've got around $300 to spend on a new phone now that my current phone is long overdue for replacement (SGS2). I have spent a few hours looking at forums and videos trying to decide between getting a used LG G4 or a used SG Note 4. I plan on rooting whatever I get to remove bloat, increase battery life, custom rom...blah blah blah. I just cannot come to a decision over which is actually the better buy.
I do not use my current phone for internet usage. The only thing I really do is read ebooks. I'm not into mobile gaming via phone but I do plan on picking...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Thank you for the response dude. I can expect pretty much the same performance from both? I know it shouldn't matter too much since I'm not doing anything heavy. I'm sure once I get rid of the usual Samsung garbage it will run smooth.
I need to decide whether I go with a vacuum or steam cleaner and also make a choice?
Medium sized carpet.
Any thoughts /g/
budget of 200-299.99 dollars
Got myself a pair of car speakers, want to convert them into desktop speakers.
They're 130w each, does it matter what amp I use as long as I keep it below the rated wattage?
Tested it with a 10w chink amp and at max volume it was starting to sound a wee bit distorted. Was that caused by the amp being shitty or the speakers being shitty?
holy shit. that was a brutal attack
[spooky spoiler]did the snake survive[/spoiler]
What is some technology that is holding back technology?
I don't play gaymes anymore. it's supposed to be a nostalgia thread.
Best cost effective desktop / components for programming compile speed?
I need to display two 1440p monitors, at 60fps max settings playing League of Legends.
I don't know what to look for.
>programming compile speed
RAM. The more the better. Then put whole IDE and project into ramdisk. Fuck SSD's, still too slow for any Java EE thing. Most mobo + cpu combinations allows to 64GB which should be enough.
Or be cheap and buy some random SSD.
Basically any new GPU (gtx1060, rx480) released this year will be enough and they all comes with 2+ hdmi/dvi outputs.
What does this mean?
also if you could run a cpu and gpu stress test for about 30 minutes and tell me if your gpu will fluctuate between 175mhz and 700mhz I'd appreciate it.
I'm going to measure gpu clock speed and temp using msi afterburner. What numbers are good? I'm going to be getting my thinkpad in the mail later.
I'm going to be testing my new laptop using msi afterburner. It's supposed to measure my cpu and gpu stress. When measuring it, what should I be looking for? High numbers? Low numbers?
can someone provide me with documentation on how a past bootloader exploit works. i want the entire process of how they have been able to unlock devices
hey /g/, /x/ here. Can you help us crack this code ?
/g/, just finished season one of Mr. Robot and have caught up to season two of Mr. Robot. How long does it take to learn to hack the planet? Where should I start? I'm 28 and don't know anything about this "culture" or technology, so be gentle and tell me what direction I should head to learn.
You need to get shady contacts and you need their approval, so go to the nearest drug dealer, buy a shitton of whatever artificial drug and do it a LOT. Then you can start with networking, security and coding
Ugh. I give it two weeks before op gets bored and says fuck it. Now to OP, unless you have an inate interest in computing or programming, you're not going to enjoy it in the long run. You're just interested because you think "hacking is cool". Or maybe your just a troll.
So i just got my new build, i turned it on, it all seems to work, fans spin,i heard the hdd etc, but there is no beep on startup and i do not have a monitor right now, anyway to check if its all working without plugging in monitor
My computer doesn't make a beep when it starts up. IIRC it depends on your motherboard and if it isnt 300 years old then it wont make a beep. If you can hear all that, then the build is probably working.
The adoption rate for windows 10 has to be among the fastest in history. Whoever thought of that free upgrade scheme is a genius. People stuck with windows XP forever even though 7 was solid.
Linux meanwhile can't even make up 1% of the market even though the gaming performance is quite decent with an expanding library of games.
Android fag here. Anyone have any experience building an apk for android. I want to build one that houses my website inside of it. What would be the best way ti go about doing this?
>son entering computer science in school
Post pictures of tech company headquarters.
pic related - Sprint's HQ in Kansas
Each individual building looks like a nice college building, but the campus taken as a whole, they look like a maximum security prison complex.
Frank Gehry-designed monstrosity that is the Facebook HQ.
Is this still legit?
Are you using cock.li?
Cant it be used at least for some shitty accounts like facebook?
It was never legit.
Vincent? Not his real name or location.
It can and has been down for weeks at a time.
He is so incompetant, he won't even encrypt his drives, so when they get seized, everything is now in the hands of the authorities. Dosen't even have any backups.
you are in a bar and this guy slaps your girlfriend's ass. what do?
>install my shit
>feel fairly comfortable using this
-VR/AR/MR and the future
-intel and AMD rolls in this
That's a mounting-braket, since these things will go into servers. They don't have active cooling themselves, therefore they have to be mounted behind the chassis-fans. Please shoot yourself now.
Anyone know of any good DSLR I can get used under the $300 range I'm looking for some models that are still good for taking pictures with.
Was curious if any of you had some recommended DSLR camera's I can hunt around on ebay for I found a Canon Rebel XT but not sure if it will be any good.
Is this a good deal ?
>1080p 14 inch screen
>Intel Core I5-6200U
>8GB of RAM
>256 GB SSD
>750€ , 20% VAT included
Is this a good deal or am I getting shafted here ?
Looking for a good affordable microphone for CSGO.
On a Linux system, but whatever you find is probably compatible.
Too many to choose from.
Just go to Walmart and pick up a Snowball for $40. I mean you're using it for gaming not high fidelity recording, plus you'll still sound better than the turtle beach wearing fags.
help me /g/, you're my only hope
I need some turn-by-turn navigation for android which offers saving routes so I can plan my route, save it and then drive using it
here wego is now fucked, google maps do not have this, wat do?
descent headphone for $50 and under
looking to use for, mowing, working outside etc. Cant wear ear buds
jvc rx700 are my go to headphones, been using them for 6 years. i wear them at home and the office, they are generally what /g/ recommends for this price range. but they are pretty big, ive never worn them outside
Windows users will defend this.
because grandparents don't know the e-mail is free so they pay the dialup rates regardless
Because modulation technology never dies - i'm surprised they didn't make it a little better desu.
Also it's the best way to get internet in bumfuck nowhere as well as it's a good fallback for some obscure fucking purpose i'm sure
Is there a way that I can change android app files to my advantege.
I don't know what the fuck you're asking.
So I got this app that we use for our taxy. It's alot like uber, but not the same. So once we get the call it shows the pick up adress, but it doesn't show the destination. It just shows "XX". We have to accept the offer, pay money and then It shows the destination. And alot of the time its like shitty calls for 2-3 euros. So I wanna know can I change something so I could see the destination instead of the "XX". The VIP people that work there they see every destination before they accept the call so that they could dodge shitty rides.
ITS OVER GANU/LANUKS AND MACOSUX ARE FINISHED
windows now has a package manager.
how can other operating systems even compete?
It's been around for a while and it's still shit.
>instead of the default package manager
Why? It's shipped by default in Windows 10.
>how can other operating systems even compete?
Now that you can use Linux-compiled binaries on Windows through the WSL, they can't.
