I want to sell a Macbook Pro to replace with a cheaper laptop, but I want the same amount of speed and quality as the Macbook Pro. Any good suggestions are appreciated.
You want a premium product at a non premium price.
Quite the dilemma.
You'll be able to find laptops with the same speed, but you'll never be able to match the build quality with a lower price.
Posted from my MacBook,
>try out C# for first time in my life
>spawn 100 threads that sleep 1000ms and do nothing forever
>memory usage keeps going up every second by 1Mb
>so this is what it feels like to be a Pajeet
Nah, that's just JIT compiler doing it's allocations and shit. It will gradually slow down and stop after a minute or two (for me on 27 MB)
I'm currently busy learning Python and I was wondering if someone could explain me the general structure of how a program should be written.
I was thinking it was this way:
- import modules
- declare variables
- define functions
Basically this but you'll be also importing the big modules before doing anything else. Like, if I know I'm going to use beautiful soup I'll import it first thing after opening the fike
This is the debate to end them all. Which is better. Google or Windows?
Not gonna lie, feels pretty fucking cool to have all this speed and responsiveness and power mgmt, don't think I could go back to anything earlier after this
16.10 can't come soon enough
Best to check on phoronix
Whats your business email?
Why aren't you using Linux Lite OS /g/?
It's basically xubuntu without all the bloat, Also has a nice theme and some custom programs for system maitenence.
Also when you log in it plays sounds.
Trying to turn Raspberry Pi 2 into multimedia box for my family to browse interner and torrent and watch movies in hd on TV.
What is the best performance-wise software for stuff like torrents, media player, browser etc.? Is the official Raspbian OS good or are there better alternatives?
Raspbian Lite should be fine if you know how to remotely use the command line.
XBMC / Kodi is your go to media player, you can get an app on your phone that acts as a remote.
Plug an external hdd into the pi and you have the thing set up.
There is an article on the internet somewhere that shows you how to use a install and use a remote torrent manager.
Can someone with a Noctua NH-D15 take a photo of their guts?
I just wanna see how it fits in a PC and if it'll fit inside my rig
On the Noctua website is a list of motherboards and what it will block (PCI-e, ram slot).
Also it has a maximum height so that should be listed on your case specifications what coller it can fit.
Where'd the fucking side go?
See there it says "CPU coolers in height of 180mm"
What's your case make? Go look that up and it should say.
MAC OS Sierra supports WEBP thumb nailing !
Get excited !
Which is better? Iphone SE or Iphone 6S?
They're almost the same hardware internally. I like the smaller form factor but a few things are missing, like force touch. I'm also not sure if the camera is the same. I'm waiting for the 7 and if it sucks, I'll go for the SE.
What kind of chair do you use?
I've made a decision my flat (and my TV) needs better sound. The thing is what 5.1 (yes I wanna 5.1 because the movies) should I buy and do NOT spend fuckton of money.
I would def go for 5500 but they are passe since no shop sell then anymore. The z906 (their successor probably sounds good but looks like a $5 shit + I'm not buying there ugly speakers into my room).
So....what to buy? What /g/ uses for 5.1 and can say it's pretty good?
Why does Google never honor any mathematicians?
shouldn't smartphones be doing much more than just being a web browser, camera and mp3 player by now?
seriously, wtf is wrong with microsoft?
where is bill? i have to talk to that guy?
Is it possible to recover FB deleted messages?

I'm buying a new laptop around december and I narI'm buying a new laptop around decembre and I narrowed my choices to the
MSI titan with sli 980M 16gb VRAM 16 or 24 gb ddr3l RAM 1920×1080 ips i7 4720HQ 265gb SSD 1tb HDD

Let's toss that out the window from the get go. You'll never achieve it.
Enjoy your broken hinges, inadequate cooling and terrible customer service.
>Gaming laptops in general
It's going to fry itself within five years. It might last longer but not by much.
One Lewdposter Deleted The Whole Thread Edition.
>tfw have 4 different backups because ransomware and MBR overwriting programs are everywhere.
Microsoft even deletes hard drives during windows 10 major updates.
fosshub was hacked and some script niggers replaced all programs with MBR overwriting scripts.
I guess the best option is to buy Kaspersky because they were one of the few antivirus companies who actually marked it as potentionally dangerous
So my grandma randomly decided to buy me a 4790k. Should I buy a closed loop water cooler to go with it, or stick with the stock Intel Fan? If so, what one should I get? Pic related or something else?
Devil's canyon can get pretty hot anon, I've had one for the past year and love it at 4.6 using a evo212, Temps don't go past 63c during full load. I would at least get an evo212 at the minimum. I you get water cooling you should be just fine.
OS X looks so fucking good
Shame the hardware is shit. I've been using a Mac for the past five years and while the OS is comfy, my processing needs have already long exceeded what this piece of junk can do, but I've hit a bit of a conundrum as Mac Pros are overpriced shit and use ancient hardware, while iMacs are overpriced, throttle and use mobile parts.
Don't want to waste time messing with hackintosh so I'll move to a Wangbang 1000 PC instead, unless Apple decides to make a desktop computer again before then.
Need your wizard wisdom /g/.
Recently bought myself Samsung USB 3.0 Flash Drive DUO 64GB, main purpose is to collect all my vidya to emulate and play on the tablet during long trips.
One end regular USB the other micro USB for connecting with smartphones, tablets and the likes.
Now, regular USB works ok however when I connect to my android tablet via micro USB, it gets rather hot pretty fast, even if I am not doing anything.
Does android rape USB drives via constant read write or something?
I tried to search for this behaviour but cant find anything.
I wrote with a pencil "Powered by Gentoo" on a drive cover.
Now all womyn in STEAM will be mine.
Remember the time when you didn't have to solve botnet captchas to renew your NOIP hostnames?
I just use my personal domain for this.
I made a simple php script that updates the bind9 configuration with new ip address of the caller when you pass the correct password in parameters. then use cronjob on my local machine with dynamic machine to curl the php page every 30 minutes to update the ip.
Why is technology so bad /g/?
Everything is made in China now, and it shows.
I have never had a laptop that has lasted more than four years. Dell, Asus, IBM, Apple: it doesn't matter. Something critical always falls apart just sitting on my desk.
Now my iPhone 5, the very first smartphone I decided to buy, has its screen literally bulging out because the battery packet beneath it is most likely filling with gas. Despite being a clear design flaw I doubt it will be covered by warranty.
Do I just have to accept that no matter what I buy, it will...

So I have an old ass iPhone, the 4s. And the button on the top right which is used for a bunch of shit, most importantly turning on/off the fucking phone is broken. No matter how hard I try to to press the damn thing, it doesn't register.
Is there anything I can do to somehow reroute the turning on/off of the device to the home button? Because currently, if my phone runs out of battery or turns off for any reason, I won't be able to turn it back on.
I also can't manually lock my phone or take screenshots without this button,
