The Art of Unix Programming
Operating Systems Design and Implementation (3rd Edition) by Andrew S. Tannenbaum (aka "The Minix Book")
Thank you! Now, where should I buy these texts online? I need physical books
Why are NVIDIA drivers such shit? I just downloaded the 358.87 driver recently and shit keeps crashing on me like a motherfucker.
Had to downgrade to fix it.
Considering going with ATI cause of this, should I do it /g/?
Is there any reason why I should use any linux distro instead of windows 10 other than >muh freedoms ?
Windows 10 is designed so Microsoft can keylog the entire general public and force-push unwanted updates. If it weren't for the bullshit privacy-raping anti features it would be hands down the best OS Microsoft has released since Windows 7. If Windows Server 2016 can be kludged into working as a desktop OS when it releases, I'd recommend that instead, since there's no way in hell Microsoft will inflict those awful features on companies who pay MS the big bucks for volume licenses.
Linux is like a scientific calculator, m8.
If you just want to calculate tips and sum Monopoly debt, it will only be confusing.
If you regularly use logarithms and cosine though, a shitty four function calculator like Windows will be murder.
Thinking of getting the Oneplus X and giving my Moto G to my sister, is it going to be a noticeable upgrade over the Moto /G/?
Hey people. I've been having some concerns about my internet privacy, I want to feel as though I have some sense of security and anonymity online. Right now I just have Windows 7 and use chrome and don't have tor or vpns or whatever. I don't feel like I really do anything too inappropriate online but I would hate to accidentally get in trouble for something stupid and preventable. Basically, I want to know how much effort I should put into this. How worried should I be about things like this? How vulnerable am I and what are some solutions? I don't want to go through a shit ton of trouble but I'd like some security, is Tor worth it?
>start gentoo vm
>get behind 7 proxies
Well if you are concerned about privacy I suggest using a vpn, change your Browser to chromium, change ur search engine, use the extension https everwhere, use peerblock and disable botnet settings or change your OS to pretty much any Linux Distro u want.
Hey Bros poorfag here, bought a monitor today, wondering if I did okay.

When the fuck am I getting Marshmallow to my LG G4?

Why don't we use Ada? Is there one real reason we don't other than "I'm lazy and strong typing males me sad"?
Should I upgrade from a R9 390 and 1080p monitor to a 980 Ti and 1440/Ultrawide monitor?
1440p is a meme resolution.
Get an actual 4k display and if your GPU can't handle 4k at Ultra you can always scale it back to 1080p and it won't look like shit unlike 1440p which scales horrible to 1080p.
SpongeBob has just finished making n Krabby patties. Whenever a Krabby patty is finished he just throws it into the pile regardless of it's size. However, Mr Krab just gave an order saying that patties should be brought to the customers in descending order !
The patties are too hot for SpongeBob's hands to touch so the way he sorts them is by putting his spatula somewhere in the pile , thus diving it to two smaller piles , and flips the upper pile upside down.
What would be the most efficient way to sort n patties and what would be the efficiency?
I accidentally deleted the company's VM holding an important database. Latest backup is 2 months old. How screwed am I? How do I even tell my boss about this? I thinking of not even showing up to work tomorrow.
Installing Fedora for a mate, what DE should I give him?
