>he fell for the useless flashy RAM heatspreader meme
tell me you guys didn't fall for this.
It was the cheapest thing on PCpartpicker at the time. I'm sorry.
So i have made myself a gaming build, will it handle shit properly, i am most afraid about the PSU
Cut the 6700k for a i5-6600k. Use the extra money to buy a better graphics card.
600W is fine, I'm unsure of the quality of that brand. Use Johnnyguru to compare PSUs.
Also your motherboard does not support overclocking. You'll want a Z170 motherboard instead. Not an H170.
The 6700k is overkill, especially if you're not even buying a board capable of overclocking it. Might be cutting it close on the PSU - with a near-identical build (swapping out the 6700k for an i5-6500) I could hit around 500w peak; allowing for some overhead 600w is the absolute lowest I'd go.
Otherwise it'll get you max or near-max settings at 1080p/60FPS with most of what's on the market today, disregarding shit like Hairworks.
If this is your first build, a microATX board might...

Anyone have a windows 7 ultimate x64 key?
Is this considered fast internet?
>bought a Cherry MX Blue switch keyboard
>previously used Red switches
>this Blue switch one feels like I spilled soda on my keyboard and now all the keys are stuck and rough
What the fuck, I thought Blues were supposed to feel better for typing, not worse?
What keyboard layout is this?
I'm using gamestop to buy Playstation credit because i cant find any cards where I live. I'm trying to use a gamestop gift card to buy the PS credit. After trying to purchase the PS credit Gamestop gives me this error, I don't know what to do. I haven't put any credit card info in, thinking the gift card would be plenty.
Will we ever leave polygon-optimized GPUs behind? Surely, polygons were an easy way out to get forms in 3D, but aren't voxels more flexible now?
I want to buy this motherboard, but it doesn't have an AGP slot. What is the best PCI video card I can get my hands on?
whats the best torrent software you guys can suggest , currently using μtorrent because I've used it for a long time
What's the point? All the torrent sites are dead.
>Microsoft announced earlier this year that support for Skylake processors in Windows 7 and 8.1 would be quite limited: compatibility, reliability, and security fixes would only be offered until July 17, 2017.
Does anyone else miss when AMD GPUs used to be called ATI and they put out good, quality products?
Pic related. I remember buying a 9800 pro bundled with Half-Life 2. It was one of the best GPUs I have ever owned in terms of price versus performance at the time.
Also, general hardware nostalgia thread.
You can open GUI programs inside Windows using Bash on Ubuntu on Windows using Xming
>Grab a program using apt-get
>run export DISPLAY=:0
>run your program
Xming will open your program!
I made this in like 2012. Glad I can finally use bash without the hassle of cygwin.
Thoughts on Pentoo? It's like Gentoo but on steroids in terms of security.
Ruby > Python
Would you live in a house like this?
>enjoying an ERP with Cleverbot
>she suddenly changes subject in the middle of it all and won't get back on track
>finally manage to get lewd again
>she gets as far as *carries you to your room*.
>ask what we're going to do on the bed
>she starts singing "Do you want to build a snowman?"
Is there a specialized chatbot for lewd? I'm sick of this shit.
Is it just a fad or is it truly the next big thing in television?
Likely a fad. I remember back when the very first LED TV with full zone lighting was developed, it had not only incredible contrast ratio but was also incredibly bright. Even though content that could take advantage of those dynamics didn't exist yet, what was obvious is that it put quite a bit of strain on people's eyes.
While our eyes have 20 stops of adaptive dynamic range, our static DR is only about 7 stops, and this is important because static DR is what comes into play when we focus on any...

fpbp because this is me
I brought one of those curved 4K screen once, and ended up only watching the Andy Griffith show on it before realizing after about 1080p shows from the 50s (which is all I watch) isn't going to look any better or clearer. I sold it
Its going to dell. Ive got a bunch of illegally downloaded games and stuff. Should i do a fresh install before i send it back? Or just removebgames and stuff? Will they snitch on me or something?
How's your Nexus 6 holding up /g/? What are you running on it?
What did he mean by this?
Is windows 10 safe to swap to ?
Got 7 , works like cash but i am going to reinstall, wondering if 10 still does shady shit or if its safe to swim deep
If windows 7 works like cash and you're not sure about switching to 10, then don't do it. It's a good operating system except all of the data spying bullshit.
What am I looking at? Is that a piano?
Can agree on this.
I'm considering switching to W10 for better hardware support (native NVMe, decent scaling for 4K/5K screens), but as long as I'm using my current hardware I see no need to "upgrade".
Does anyone know if there is any driver software out there that works for a CECHZC2U model controller? Scp doesnt work for it.
Hey /g/. So I want to make an iOS app but don't want to drop 1200 bucks for a macbook that has parts worth $400. If I run OS X on a virtual machine, make an iOS app, and put it on the app store, is there any chance they would realize I didn't make it on a genuine OS X system and take my app down?
Is BBS dead, or dying?
I've just bought a set of headphones and, when using bluetooth, I can hear the wind inside of them.
Is this normal or are the headphones shit?
They are the Sony mdr-zx770bn. It's them in the picture.
This is THE thing to install on your computer if you want to use Linux without any hassles.
I still have no idea what the fuck this is. Is it a ubuntu fork that uses newer KDE software? If so, why would I use this when other distros let you have up-to-date software without the autism of ubuntu.
Which one of you was this?
Hypothetically, is it possible that Photoshop can use steganography to hide the serial number in any image ever exported from it. A company like Adobe has the resources to scrape the entire web. What kind of intelligence can they gather by tracking the serial number of images in documents across the internet?
>tfw you will never live in a cyberpunk mega city
>tfw you will never walk through rainy alleyways during nighttime to get to your local black market warez dealer
>tfw you will never venture to the upper levels of the city to gawk at all the luxuries only to return to your silicon-smelling and dusty capsule in Sewer Level 7
Why even live.
We get the megacorps and the tech, but none of the comfy. For fucks sake, most people still live in brick and wood houses.
>mega corps spying on general populace for 'tailored advertising'
>children eating up augmented reality like some mindless zombies (tips fedora)
>people can be easily tracked with GPS
You're already there m8.
