I want to get into SQL and MySQL, can somebody recommend some ebooks or resources to get me started?
Is pic related still relevant or just a dead meme?
Fuck amd64, I want to run Linux on a desktop arm64 already
Unless I am doing something wrong, there are no ARM64 consumer cpus, none show up on pcpartpicker at least.
That's what I meant, I want to be able to build my own machine from parts and use an arm64 cpu.
ITT: We talk about the revival of AMD that we all knew was coming, we invest in 480's, and speculate on just how hard Zen will put Intel into an early grave
Hello fellow shiller, Zen will be about 10 percent under intels chip performance. How ever if we at AMD can price Zen just right we maybe able to take a big part of Intels market.
And zen is in q0 stage which means they only just started checking how far the chip can be pushed. After finding the fastest stable clock speed they can decide which chips are failures and which are successful, that is why Intel and and waste so much money on chips
Is VR meme finally over ?

Post em. Rocking with an MSI 390
How much memory would you need to download the whole of Konachan? I can't be bothered to download every image invidually
Due to unforseen events I have had a GTX 980 sitting in my closet, unused for at least 6 months now.
Now that I have the money for a fresh build, should I even bother with it or double down and buy another?
> Now that I have the money for a fresh build, should I even bother with it or double down and buy another?
Good goy, buy another. Get the 1080.
So is there a cheap VR headset I can use as a virtual desktop? Something I can use for coding instead of "MuH vIdYa GaYmEs"?
Is there an open-source alternative for MS toolkit ? ( Also Windows 7 activator by daz )
Or the only choice i have to play is to update to w10 ?
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

What's the fastest charger for an android? Looking to buy one.
What isn't needed here, and why? Just bought this Elitebook on Ebay.
what is /g/'s official approved wireless mouse?
fuck that I don't really play games that often. I just want a clean desk and no cords that bump to other things.
pic related is a shit mouse. It is too small with no extra buttons. The endurance is nice though
My personal suggestion(which in any case does not constitute an official /g/ recommendation) is the Logitech MX Performance. Its size makes it almost perfect for palm grip.
If you want something smaller go for the M705 or the Anywhere MX.
G700s for that confy grip and 1000hz gaming, M560 for the butter smooth scrolling on Edge and never ending battery life.
I need a Linux ultrabook. Right now Im looking at putting it on a current Thinkpad X1 Carbon. Anyone do this before? Any show stopping issues? ( I don really care if crap like hibernate works.)
>current Thinkpad X1 Carbon. Anyone do this before?
I did it with the previous (2015) gen.
>Any show stopping issues?
RAM is soldered, so you have what you buy it with for all time. and 16GB are hard to find and fucking expensive. However with a fast SSD, swapping isnt the showstopper it used to be. Still, I am kinda worried about my 8GB.
The keyboard, while miles better than anything you'd find at best buy, is still shit, compared to old...

what team are you on?
A hacker is someone who enjoys playful cleverness—not necessarily with computers. The programmers in the old MIT free software community of the 60s and 70s referred to themselves as hackers. Around 1980, journalists who discovered the hacker community mistakenly took the term to mean “security breaker.”
Please don't spread this mistake. People who break security are “crackers.”
do you think he uses os x or windows?
So I've always OC'ed all of my CPUs (p4, e6600 and i5 750) without issues, and today I want to get myself a new PC so I'm looking at Skylake.
So what the fuck even happened in the last years? From what I gather, you can't overclock CPUs unless you buy the unlocked version, called "K"?
So what? I can't get a i5 6400 and overclock it to be just as good as a i7 6700K like we used to? If it's just the multiplier that's locked surely I can still increase vcore and base frequency, no?
Am I looking at this wrong?
You have to get an AMD CPU if you want to OC.
Sup /g/, found an old compact 615 in my closet, what do?
What does /g/ think about Zeronet?
I was fucking around with it about 3 days before i came to a conclusion that its not really useful and its just a big slow clusterfuck.
Hi there. I am currently working on backpropagation with CUDA acceleration. Does anybody have any idea if I call a thread for each dataset that will do the backprop for the entire network or if I then split each dataset up into other threads? The number of threads would then have to vary between layers and the kernel would be have to be called multiple times and would be very costly.
I am using CNNs, training with stochastic gradient descent back propagation. I am not using DIGITS, I am developing our own soloution. It works great at this moment, but runs only on CPU.
I have working GPU code, but I am unsure how I would want this to work. I have looked at articles about parallelized back propagation with GPUs, but no specifics on how they are implemented. Wondering if a GPU thread for each dataset is the soloution that would scale the best.
Since the variable number of neurons per...

I've never used cuda, but there is a very simple way to tell if the overhead from communication is too big
Do it without parallel processing then do it with, it if takes longer parallel you fucked up
Why don't Directors edit their own films? how hard is it to learn ?
Because there's probably hundreds of hours of footage of which only tiny portion goes into the final film. The director already decides what scenes go to the final film and will just delegate the menial work to unpaid interns.
