Old one is dying
Are there certain model M keyboards that should be avoided or are they all OK? There's a IBM Model M 1395665 for sale near me for $50. Is it worth it or not, g?

Buying Guide: http://ktgee.net/thinkpad-guide
I use a Thinkpad X60 computer, in which the FSF installed a free initialization program (libreboot) and a free operating system (Trisquel GNU/Linux.) This is the first computer model ever to be sold commercially with a free initialization program and a free operating system, and thus the first computer product the FSF could endorse. (It was not sold that way by Lenovo, however.)
Linux will never have anything as good as Everything

ITS XMAS BITCHES!!!
Merry Christmas /g/.
Couldn't ask for a better website to spend 90% of the time of the time I'm on my uselessly powerful computer on.
Hello /g/, Please give me some reasons why I should switch from Debian to Arch. I want to so bad, but I don't know why I just can't make the switch. I think it's all the wireless issues i've had in the past. Please convince me.
Android,iOS,Blackberry(lel) allowed. State your icon pack, launcher, and system version.
Pic related is mine; Merus with Nova on Android lolipop.
Fuck iOS fag op.
Nova, gel w/custom
So..what did you get for Christmas anon?
>10 Gigabit internet
Google fiber BTFO
Google isn't running Google Fiber as a serious competitive service. It's just doing it to see what kind of content and services it could provide in a community/environment/world where most/all people have Internet fast enough to make speeds not a practical issue.
Ok so now the interview is available on Google play and YouTube
As much as I think this is a stupid fucking movie, you guys need to rent it FOR THE SOLE REASON BEING THE REPERCUSSIONS
every fucking movie studio is watching this move, if the interview makes more money on YouTube than what was projected, we will open the flood gates for every movie to be released on YouTube
Sony, you literally put rootkits on CDs to hijack their computers if they tried to copy your music. Go eat a million barrels of rotting moose penises.
>tfw not available in united kingdom of great britbongistan
>For how long linux user
>What made you switch?
>Intention to switch distro or de/wm in the foreseeable feature? If yes, to what?
Dualboot 2010, fulltime 2011
had enough of window's shit and all the stuff I could do there I could do in linux better.
I might switch to Slackware soon to play around with it.
What tecnology did you always wanted to become a reality?
Post basic specs
And what you use it for
Acer ultrabook from 2010, broken display (I control it with ssh), 4gb of ram, 320 HDD, c2d ulv.
I use it for file backups with rsync, remote surveillance with motion+dropbox, media player (HDMI to TV screen), sharing files with my roommates, torrents, occasionally host a local minecraft server.
Thinking about installing owncloud
Asus Chromebox (Celeron, 2GB, 16 GB mSATA SSD)
Linux Mint 17
I use the four USB 3.0 ports to connect all the external HDDs I used to plug into my laptop and have it serve samba for muh network drives and plex for muh chromecast.
I also use it as a network bridge to get around client isolation restrictions on the shitty wifi provided by my building. The internal wireless card connects to the building wifi, and then I connect my own router to the chromebox by ethernet and have the chromebox share its internet connection.
I gt new ssd tonight/ so will have 2 distro renstalls. fun times.i
I'm installing arch linux alongside existing windows
hope this shit doesn't blow up in my face
just make sure to backup anything important, because if you don't do everything right the first time there is a possibility you'll have problems. Follow the wiki and you should be fine, but backups should be regularly done to deal with user error anyway.
What are you doing on Christmas Eve, /g/? Are you being cozy? Spending time with family or alone?
