Am I the only person who thinks this is the worst part of OS X?
M8 u fukn wot? That's like saying the start menu is a trivial part of Windows.
OP, I agree, it's pretty shitty. It's confounding that so many Linux users go out of their way to install software that mimics the dock.
>YFW a 4 year old has contributed more to the kernel that you ever will
Why doesn't moot allow webm with audio? That would revolutionize this site. Not even exaggerating. This place is already amazing for sharing and discussion. Audio would only improve that. Just up the file sizes by a negligible amount and we're golden.
Pic is moot 20 years from now.
List free software you believe is better than its proprietary alternative.
How many ThinkPads do you own /g/?

I'm planning on going for my CCNA early 2015; any suggestions on what kinds of things I'll need to grab off ebay to have a solid homelab to work on? Is it worth spending the extra cash for a 3xxx series switch or can I stick with the 2950 for now? thoughts one way or the other on the 1841 vs the 2611(xm)?
any and all network stuff goes here I guess
I did mine recently. Coming from a non-existent IT background apart from gaming and browsing the net.
You can do almost everything at CCNA level on the cisco packet tracer. Switches are cool to have for that hands on obviously, but you dont really need them.
Exam dumps are goat for passing the test.
3D printers are technology
When does /g/ think 3D printers will become more affordable and mainstream? Or will they progress the way of the 3D TV and die out as fast as they came up?
General 3D printer discussion tred
>Or will they progress the way of the 3D TV and die out as fast as they came up?
It's only recently that it's been getting media attention but the reprap project has been around since 2005. As long as there's a dedicated maker community, there will always be 3D printers.
Decided to ditch Windows for Linux, since it's all you guys talk about.
I decided to get Ubuntu, seeing that it's one of, if not the easiest to use.
So, now that I have this shit installed, wat do?
I still need a DE, will GNOME be good enough?
>Also discuss ubuntu
Unity is fine, unless you mean that for some reason you did a minimal install. Before you worry about ricing you should learn unix commands. This is a good book: http://linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php
