How do you pronounce "EVGA"?
Do you pronounce the letters individually (/i vi gi ei/),
or do you pronounce it like a word "evga" ((/ɛv gɑ/)?
Letters. It started off as 'eVGA' back when a lower case 'e' before everything was hip and cool in the tech world. That evolved into EVGA over the years.
I'v noticed at some stores the lines for check out are ridiculously long and time consuming (Walmart is notorious for this). Why don't bigger store have giant scanners, think metal detectors, that you just walk under and it picks up all the bar codes on your items. Then you just pay on a screen and walk out. Would reduce labor cost like crazy and get customers in and out of store quicker
RFID can do this.
Plain and simply it's too much money in today's "muh neverending profit" driven environment, where millions has been invested into barcodes already and spending millions more on RFID just doesn't make sense yet, even if it clearly does in the long run
Plus you're putting people out of jobs, and asking multibillion dollar companies to spend hundreds of thousands retraining workers and creating new jobs for new environments takes too much effoooooort
This is, in theory, possible. But even though RFID tags are only a dime or so, you have to incorporate them into all packaging, and that's a lot of expense compared to just printing a barcode.
Is ot easy to create your own custom rom? Theres no custom roms for my phone so i kinda want to make one.
>is it easy to create your own ROM?
Well, you don't really create them from scratch often - you usually take a ROM, like AOSP or your phone's stock ROM, and edit the features you want. What do you want a custom ROM for, anyway? Are you unsatisfied with the power you get from rooting your device ?

AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz

2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (EVGA)

i literally just called my internet provider, threatening them to cancel my services, and they literally cut my price in half.
im literally paying $46.87 a month now for 250Mbps for an entire 2 years. take advantage of this my fellow neet bros
It literally costs them almost nothing to provide people with internet. If anything this should make you angry.
If you don't want to upgrade to Windows 10, consider upgrading temporally, (you get the free Activation for Windows 10 in the future), then you can roll-back to your previous version of Windows (this is within the 30 days after upgrading to Windows 10).
Microsoft sunk to the level of an un-signed rapper. People rejecting it even if it's free.
Was UNIX actually good or is that just a linux/BSD meme? Pic related.
Unix was good. It had its faults but most of those were the stuff that was tacked on later, like sockets and Xorg.
How do you organize your emails?
I have so many emails and I need to keep them organized; updates, promos, newsletters, personal emails, Stack Exchange digests, social media updates, newsgroup updates, financials, Pizza deals, etc.
How do I get on top of my emails and not have my emails on top of me?

For the last year I have been using Arch gnu/linux as my daily driver, but recently, I've grown sick of there always being something broken, like nothing I do 'just werks' and I always have to open up the wiki, or use google, to do practically anything new. Personally I do not have anything against fixing stuff up, and working to get stuff to work, but the simple fact is that I need to get work done. So I have decided that I am going to switch to debian, what important stuff do I need to know to get going, I have some experience with debian, and I know the basics...

yeah, there's 3 versions of debian. there's stable, testing and unstable. stable is well...stable, but there are some old packages in there. if you want maximum stability and don't mind working with older versions of software then yeah stable all the way.
unstable might be the closest thing to arch. i think packages just come in when they please. i never actually used unstable, but be prepared for broken packages.
testing is the medium of the two and is what i run. look into the release/freeze schedule. there 's a period when all packages are frozen to prepare for the next release.
Are there any reputable 3 inch USB C cables available? I can't find any!

I'm considering switching from my 2013 rMBP 13" to a Thinkpad W520 and I have a few questions. Has anyone had any experience installing Linux on this? How friendly is the hardware for that?
Also, is the screen any good? I can handle a lower resolution (I actually prefer 1080p) but I'm worried the color will be really bad, like most cheap laptops. Is this the case?
I have a T500, not a W520, but you oughta be fine. Part of the reason thinkpads of that era are liked is that Linux generally just werks. Only thing I had that didn't just werk was the SD card reader. Big deal, I bought a USB one.
I think the screen is fine in terms of color, but idk how picky you are about that, I'm not.
>but I'm worried the color will be really bad
If you're coming from a memebook you can only go up.
I have a w520. Thinkpads, especially non skylake models are very friendly when it comes to installing linux. As far as the screen, Thinkpads are generally known for having mediocre screens, but coming from a ips Dell ultrasharp to the w520 it wasn't that bad at all. The w520 1080p screen actually has slightly better color accuracy and viewing angles that its t420 counterpart.
