hey /g/, how would i go about writing every single rgb value in pic related in a text file automatically? is there some format that stores data like this?
Well that's a JPEG so you're already fucked.
But if you had it as a lossless file, convert it to a BMP and open the image in a hex editor - pic related.
It's relatively easy to suck the pixel data out of a lossless file. BMP is the easiest imo.
My dad has a successful server hosting company.
What would be a good major that correlates well to his business for college? All I can think of is computer engineering but I'm too stupid for that.

Is Discord a Botnet?
I need a good alternative to TS3, nobody want to host
or pay
anymore and "public" servers are shit.
So what is your opinion on ARM? They can be pretty energy efficient and have crazy strong GPUs which can do 4K at crazy low energy consumption
I expect ARM to expand into ultra low power consumer laptops with OSX & (Maybe) Microsoft within the next few years.
Apple will probably be the first to do this. All they have to do is tweak the A9x or whatever they call it and optimize OSX for ARM.
I'd consider buying something like a macbook with an ARM chip running OSX as a basic portable machine.
The Intel M core or whatever they have in there currently thermal throttles to hell and back anyway.
I can imaging the amazing battery life already.
The obvious contenders for full operating systems on ARM chips are Linux (head start from raspberry pi) and OS X (convergence with iOS). Windows RT was such a disaster that nobody would touch it with a hundred foot pole now.
Don't really like the idea of it superseding x86 and killing the last bit of diversity in consumer and entry/mid-range business hardware but I'm interested in seeing its server and even workstation applications most of all.
its 2016 and i still cant buy a brand new phone below <$20. i dont think thats right.

You have 500 dollars. What tech do you get?

a microphone boom arm and shockmount, hdmi splitter
some wacom pen tips maybe
idk its not a lot of money desu
So i'm curries, what is /g/'s favorite Linux operating system and why?
I'm currently into Ubuntu GNOME Edition. All the stability, packages, and performance I've come to expect from the Ubuntu team, but without their Unity desktop environment (which has become increasingly unstable with each release IMO). GNOME 3 feels more polished and has a nice blend of usability and raw power.
That being said, my favorite "hacker" distro is Antergos. Basically an Ubuntu-like installer for Arch so you can have all the power of Arch (however large you want it) without fucking up the install.
>inb4 Ubuntu bloat
I'd go Debian Testing but some of the PPAs I use are Ubuntu only.
I actually like to get shit done.
How long until 4k TVs become what we pay for 1080p now? Can't be too far now. After seeing 4k I just don't want anything else.
Does anyone else feel like the current generation of AMD cards are secretly superior but everyone's so used to the prior era's of AMD fuck ups in both the CPU and GPU market that they are too far down the Nvidia rabbithole to admit it?
Re-branded 260 with higher clock speeds and 2GB of VRAM, priced similarly at release, with street prices being closer to what the superior 260X used to be
Re-branded 265/7850 with higher clocks - again, similar MSRP, but with the superior 270 diminishing and no replacement released, its prices haven't gone down as much as they should be.
285 Re-brand at cheaper MSRP and 4Gb available....

So... the first pic of Samsung Galaxy S7 has been leaked. What does /g/ think?
When was the last time you cleaned your keyboard?
Couple months ago. Removed all the keycaps, went through the entire thing with a vacuum and a fist full of cotton swabs. For the most part it's just dust and hair, since I don't eat messy food at the computer.
What are you working on, /g/?
All useful programs are I/O. Yes.
And all useful Functional programs ultimately provide I/O, just with a different conceptualisation of how to represent I/O in the codebase.
It's a function of an I/O of X to an I/O of Y. It is up to the external environment to "perform" those I/O actions.
