did you guys notice that the quality of lubuntu went down?
just installed 15.10 and holy shit, bugs that were reported 2 months ago weren't fixed, shit's a mess. anyone knows what happened to the team?
What bugs for example?
I was considering switching to lubuntu soon but you make me doubt again. Are they specifically related to LXDE? In that case it won't matter for me since I'll use i3 anyway.
>Are they specifically related to LXDE?
some are general *buntu like https://butu bugs like gs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/1499746
lots of things don't work (as they should): sound, panels dissappear, it doesn't shut down normally, etc.
it used to be a very smooth distro that just worked out of the box. and the main selling point (power efficiency) was totally true, my laptop idled 5 degrees cooler than even with Xubuntu.

Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Why did you upgrade to Windows 10?
>ublock keeps blocking sourceforge
These fans were annoying and inefficient.

Cards came with a breakout cable back then.
>Chrome and Firefox only capable of 720p
meanwhile IE and Edge go up to 4k
Google Chrome up to 720p
Internet Explorer up to 1080p
Microsoft Edge up to 1080p
Mozilla Firefox up to 720p
Opera up to 720p
Safari up to 1080p on Mac OS X 10.10.3 or later
I wonder how much they got paid by Microsoft for that bullshit.
It's obvious that they were getting paid before because they were using Silverlight, but apparently Microsoft realized that that was too obvious.
This is it. This is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I've been on win10 for almost a month now, and I'm switching all my machines to linux. This OS is fucking apple-tier spyware bullshit where nothing works, nothing is configurable, and everything sucks so hard I literally can't get any fucking work done. The games aren't even worth it anymore, fuck you microsoft.
Can't say I read it, figured it couldn't be so bad if I turned all the privacy invasion bullshit settings off. Hell, privacy wasn't even my main issue. I thought the productivity shit like virtual desktops finally coming might be worth, but everything is just so fucking broken, wonky or locked-down that there's just no way this is a viable OS. You could spend weeks trying to get this thing to work the way you want it to and it would still be garbage.
Welcome to the club.
Go with an Ubuntu spin if you already know your way around them.
Otherwise try Manjaro or Antergos so you get a rolling release distro, the AUR and the best Linux documentation on earth.
Post your desktop pcs/servers/laptops/tablets speccy reports, anons.
This thread makes me self-conscious about my small penis.
What do you guys think about Black Berry Priv?
Is it worth it? I like the Physical Keyboard Slide extension, cuz I am not a fan of touchkeyboards and my precision on touchkeyboards is for shit.
I have it. Amazing phone, no regrets
Why won't programmers give useful feedback to upper management?
Is it that hard to take 15 minutes of your day to update your project's status?
We always have to hire expensive project managers or else everything goes to hell, without a nanny around programmers are literally like incompetent clueless children.
Are all programmers autistic like this?
Dealing with programmers is by far the most bullshit part of being in upper management, not even customers are that bad.
Because programming is not operating a press where at the end of the day I can just say "I used X of raw material and made Y pieces of half-product".
Also, sometimes I may be working on something that's more on the inside of the program so I can't really fire up a new screen or whatever and say "yeah, I did this today".
I have never worked with you personally but not everything is easy to quantify when you don't know how everything should be done.
I often get asked how far I am and is expected to give them a percentage like I would know something like that.
It is a bit easier if it is divided into smaller projects, but exiting problems usually take a couple of days and thus, a percentage every day is hard to estimate.
What I personally prefer is scrum.
We used that (or a version of that, probably, never...

What are you working on, /g/?
Can someone explain to me precisely, what people mean under the term bloated when talking about various distros and DE's?
Say, person X is talking about KDE and suddenly person Y is like "hurr KDE is bloated as fuck, I'd never use that" etc. Same with literally any other distro. Ubuntu? bloated. Mint? Also bloated. Like what the fuck?
I mean, if you have like a quad core processor with 8 gigs of ram, do any distros really put a strain on your computer? I just don't understand.
features you don't need but can't get rid of is considered bloat.
KDE only seem bloated because they want to unify everything and thus use the same libraries.
This means installing a single KDE application means you get a lot of dependencies you didn't think you wanted.
Which distro do you use and why?
Meme Hat (Fedora)
I've spent some time distro hopping the first time I tried Linux. Fedora was the one where I had least hardware problems and for whatever reason (default wallpaper and icon theme, maybe) I liked the GUI a bit more than in other distros. So I decided to stick with it.
Alright so heres the deal. I bought a drawing tablet last night. The Huion 420 to be precise.
Some have said its not very good for drawing, some have said its great for drawing. I want to know if any of you have used it and how you feel about it.
but for the $25 I don't think I messed up too bad.
