Why didn't JPEG2000 take off?

Are these good enough for modern games? Do I really need a gpu?

Hey /g/ is it possible to find a good job in IT without any degree whatsoever? What about in eastern europe?
pic slightly but not really related.
I have a comfy job of selling off-lease IT equipment back into the market and making commission.
Is it IT related in the sense that I touch hundreds of computers a week? Sure. Do I do anything more technical than running a Windows imaging script off of a blade server? Not really.
But the pay's good and all it takes is knowing how to sell computers :)
Sales-related jobs don't count, companies will always welcome anybody who is successful at reaching into customers' pockets and handing them their cash. For sales you have to be good at sales and literally nothing else.
What does /g/ think of this?
>Remix OS is our state of the art Android-based operating system. We mean it when we say you get a PC experience unlike anything on Android and an Android experience unlike anything on a PC. The innovative features we’ve brought to Remix OS 2.0 have been meticulously engineered to bring you the best of both worlds – the harmonious fusion of a mobile and desktop experience.
It looks beautiful as fuck. What do you guys think?
How close can you get a linux distro to look like OSX?
Windows vs Linux thread
Hey /g/. My x200s: 1.83GHz Dual Core, 3GB RAM (yes I'm a poorfag) is arriving tomorrow and I need a distro for it. I didn't really need this laptop I just wanted a machine on which I can mess with linux and learn some programming on(torn between C and python, any ideas?).
Currently I have OpenSUSE downloaded and considering installing this with XFCE. I'm also looking at Crunchbang and Xubuntu, anyone with an old laptop have experience with these distros?
Computer Noob, looking at upgrading my pretty dated PC, wondering if a GTX 960 or 970 will be compatible with an Intel DP55KG Motherboard?
And also wondering if an Intel i5 4690k would be compatible with it also?
Wrong socket. Intel DP55KG Motherboard has an LGA 1156 socket (1156 pins) and the i5 4690k uses the LGA 1150 socket (1150 pins)
Each new socket breaks compatability. You can upgrade the GPU though because PCI express is backwards compatible
This guy is releasing videos every single damn day of the week.
When will he burn out?
Why does no one care about Windows Phone anymore?
Are people really comfortable with the only options being Android and iOS?
because it's shit and dead. no amount of UWP shilling will bring it back, some apps will be released in first 6 month, after that everyone will forget it exists, like it happened with WP8 and 8,1
With W10M update it's basically Android Metro buggy beta that doesn't lag on low end devices.
Windows high DPI currently sucks.
I want to buy a dell xps 13, but the two resolution options are 1920x1080 and 3200x1800
If I get the 3200x1800 and run it at 1600x900 with no dpi scaling will everything look blurry? Or will it scale properly to double pixels.
so I've bought a new rig and am currently waiting for the last few parts to arrive.
I've always been a MS sheep out of convenience but seeing how stupid win10 is and the fact that I'm not 12 anymore, I really want to replace it with gnu/linux.
the problem is, I have no idea what distro to pick.
I mainly use the PC for either playing games or working on game projects, as well as webdesign for work.
I've read up some shit and watched comparison videos and saw that some linux supported games run faster and better on ubuntu 15.x.x...

Linux Mint 17.3
Remember to read the man pages and Google your queries. These mainstream distros are widely covered and many people have resolved issues faced by beginners.
There is always that guy recommending Arch to newbies.
I have a game for us to play. Post the Speccy from a prebuilt computer you have and try to guess what other anons are using.
