Why is Chrome so shitty?
These tests were done on a Skylake Xeon, 16GB of RAM and a PCI-Express SSD. e10s enabled and dom.ipc.processCount set to 50. Now tell me Firefox isn't slow:

The smiley with a caret nose is technology.
ITT: 3D camera tracking and augmented reality.
What future does /g/ think this technology has?
Can someone hack an Instagram account and message me their password to @iprobablyhateu.__
So, g I am a pc gamer and I am new to the board ,and I was wondering if you guys could help me with upgrade ideas for my computer. My current specs are.
AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
8.0 gigs of ram
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit
4 1 terrabyte hardrives
and a AMD Radeon R7 200 Series
Please forgive the stupid question, I have no idea where else to ask this.
Basically I need a contact book programme to catalogue information of places (churches, to be specific). I'm using a Mac, and the Contacts app is utter shit. Anyone have any suggestions? Pic related is pretty much what I need.
You've come to the wrong place fella. You will find no help here other than scorn or abuse. For one thing g/ is for the discussion of technology and as it states in the rules, not your personal IT help thread.
Secondly you are either very religious which means you shouldn't be here or you like rating Alter Boys.
If it's the latter then you'll fit right in with the rest of the CP/Loli brigade here. In which case I'll call you a peadorist cunt and be on my way.
You could make a website for that stuff in a day I think, although it looks very simple its a very specific use case
Spreadsheet software (Excel) could be used as well, not sure about imagery though
Why is the quality of new items gradually going lower? Is that because of cheap china/bangladesh labor force, which doesn't give a flying fuck if it works or not?
>buy new power supply
>as soon as you install it and start the PC you notice the fan is REALLY loud
>buy coils for e-cig for your dad
>three of them burned as soon as he used them, two lasted for a week and burned

if you want quality items pay for quality items and quit being a cheapskate
>>buy new multimeter
>>it has fucked up pins
would literally never happen on a fluke or any other reputable brand of multimeter because the cost of the item includes quality control
Poor fag here. Which options do i have for free hosting websites?
Why is it impossible to find a custom android ROM that actually supports brand new devices? The only ones out there I could find were AOSP and Cyanogenmod.
I can't even find ROMs for my brand old phone unless it was some $300+ range one when it was released.
What's the tech news sites you use /g/?
I'm having a hard time finding ones that aren't complete cancer.
Why are YOU not on a workstation?
I'm looking to buy this big boy for $800. Worth it! Still need to swap out the GPU with a 1080.
- Power consumption (dual CPU)
- Cheap workstations usually a generation or two old so missing features like M.2 slots
- Proprietary motherboard bs
- Proprietary PSU/power delivery bs
- Ugly cases (generally)
>he unironically thinks that FLAC is better than 320kbps MP3...
>competition drives innovation
>"I only buy intel" T...Thanks Intel for nothing the last 8 years
Why does /g/ hate innovation
Competition doesn't mean charity.
If you have nothing to offer over your competitors, you will go bankrupt, even if your competitor are only slightly better. People won't buy your shit just because maybe one day you will improve.
I'm getting really paranoid, I just purchased a new computer and when I was taking it out of the box
I actually dropped it in the packaging maybe about a 6 inch drop. The computer was still in styrofoam but it dropped on the base which wasn't in styrofoam.
I'm concerned if I've damaged it, is that possible, or am I being paranoid?
I've booted it up and it works fine
pic related is the computer
>He browses the web online
>He doesn't download cached versions of his favorite websites in their entirety for offline viewing pleasure
Hi all, So I completely forgot a password for an encrypted drive and dont have a physical copy of the key anywhere. Thing is I know it can be a limited number of combinations of words+numbers, maximum wordlist of 15.
Anyone can advise a brute force tool where I can reference a wordlist of my own making.
I've been busy writing a cross platform application based on QT. Now i was wondering what the best way is to deploy the package on linux. Msi installer for windows & .apk for android. Should i just write an configure script and let the users compile it themselves or should i bother creating and maintaining a package for the most popular distros?
> Cross platform application
> Not a web app
ITT: How and why this failed
What do you do on your phone when you're in public, like waiting on the bus or at a restaurant alone? Listen to music? Watch animu?
How can I be certain this doesn't just proxy Google results and log everything I search for?
>open website with no adblock
>load time >10 seconds
>open with adblock
>load time 3 seconds
why do people do this
I meant adblocking in general.
Whenever I see people using ab or abp instead of ublocko I want to die.
Is 1440p a meme? It worth upgrading to a 1440p ips from a 1080p tn?
why do you newfags refer to everything as a meme?
>tfw didn't fall for the 16GB meme
>can't even max out a fucking miniscule 8GB with this many tabs + Skype alpha open
Feels bad, ngl.
Ubuntu 16.04 must just have some fucking awesome kernel setup.
What's the best way to see who's on your wifi?
Just installed Tomato on an old Linksys WRT54G.
So easy, and now it even gave me WPA2 support. Neat, this router has much better signal coverage than my more modern Netgear, I'm gonna give it a try.
Anyway, I would still use a signal boost. I see a lot of aftermarket antennas for this, any specific to get? Need high wall penetration.
dubs decide what I name my SSID
I picked up a EnGenius EAP300 for free99. I was gonna give it a try if high gain antennas dont do the trick.
I'm finding some nice 7dbi for $6 shipped. Will it make a difference?
Hey /g/, do you care about toaster compatibility?
My cert expired a few years back, and i can't be arsed with letsencrypt.
not 100% but still A+. And still better than g0ggle's shitty A cert lol :)
now that cock.li is ded, what should we use instead?
I need help.
I bought a windows tablet, pic related.
When i charge it i turn it off, but i can't charge it fully.
When it reaches 84% it turns on by itself, and it acts like the AC gets connected and disconnected(the power led turns on and off).
What could it be?
I need to access the same mailbox from different devices at the same time.
Some of them share the same connection, some are not related in any way.
I have been experiencing, of course, lagged responses from the Gmail server. We are all using IMAP because we need to share mails and folders.
Is there a better service out there? We just need it to work faster.
sure. what's the primary purpose of this shit?
just to receive lots of emails in a mailbox that can be accessed by multiple imap clients without throttling?
guess what senpai, that doesn't work with most free/personal services. you're not the intended use case and they're rightfully throttling you.
if you want to share a single imap box with lots of clients, set up your own mailserver and forward emails to it.
The primary purpose is having multiple persons working with the same mailbox, which is also an archive.
but i'm paying for it...it's google for work...
So I have to set up my own mailserver? That's it?
Which program do you use? Which is the best? I heard power iso installs malware on your system. Is it true?
