Does /g/ use any particular programs to transfer large amounts of data between hard drives/external HDDs?
I'm upgrading to a 3TB drive and moving all my old shit over and I want to do it as safely as possible

>inb4 build it yourself

ITT: Tell us the typing/computer habit you have that you know is really inefficient, but you can't break the habit.
>when typing something, no matter how far along in the sentence I am, I spam backspace all the way until the mistake I made instead of clicking back where I messed up
Is Kat gonna return some day?
What's the best alternative out there right now? Nothing is good from what I've seen. The copyright cartels finally are winning the war against piracy by slowly degrading the quality of the torrent network.
And don't fucking say private trackers. I don't have the time or the autism for that and if I wanted to pay money to pirate I'd just buy the damn content. I do have 1 private tracker I use but it's only for pornography.
Niche things like ebooks and audiobooks are especially...

Is Intel finished?
In your opinion, which laptops have the best cooling solutions?
None, a laptop is meant to be a portable computer with emphasis on battery life. All of them are only capable of cooling processors at 2.5 GHz or less when under very heavy load.
The copper/alluminum heatsinks in them are just too fucking small. There's a reason why you can leave your desktop skylake i7 OC'd to 4.6 GHz and only get ~50°C max temp under very heavy load if you use an NH-D14 cooler.
What does /g/ REALLY do with their computers?
Yes, we all know about your durable chinkpads and your Riced desktops, but what do you actually do on your computer?
It's not just a silly 4chan machine, right?
Post a screenshot of you being productive right now, or else.

Ah shift command, that shortcut totally makes sense! Just glad it aint like ctl, alt, shift,~ like all the other commands.
>Finder has several Shift+Cmd shortcuts for viewing preset folders like /Applications and ~/Desktop
>Go back to your Steam games, kiddo.
I will. have fun trying to use your mac on a microsoft network.
/g/, is this the best search engine???
After I started using 4chanx extension, I noticed yandex links to search for images and tried it a few times. Every fucking image I tried to search for, I managed to find it on yandex and also found the biggest versions. Google returned half-as-many results and even if you went into Tools and searched for the biggest size, it never managed to find as many images as yandex.
Does anyone use this search engine for anything else? Would you recommend it?
Anyway, to make this thread more general, what search engine do you use?
>he doesn't use a meta search engine that uses all search engines
If I bought a 650w 80+ Gold PSU for my pc build, would the pc draw the full 650w from the wall when turning it on, or will it draw way less than that. I've been trying to find the answer to this question but I cant tell if I'm getting the right answers or not, dont know much about psu's and power consumption.
It will only draw as much as it needs to run your PC plus a little more that is used in converting your 110/240V from the wall in to the 12/5V that your PC uses.
Most the of the time your PC will use well less than 650W, it's only when you're doing intensive tasks like gaming that your power draw will go up.
PCs use switching power supplies, power draw from wall is power draw from DC side times 200%-efficiency.
So if your efficiency is 90% and your power draw on DC side is 100W, it gives you
100*110% for 110W.
